Fantastic service! delicious food for a great price! And a very cute restaurant with outdoor seating.

Excellent BBQ house. Was not looking for anything particular, but strolling the streets of Bluffton and came on this establishment. We were extremely pleased with the quality, quantity and cost of the food and the laidback ambiance. My wife and I shared a pulled pork platter with cornbread, mac and cheese, and fries. Plenty for the two of us (even though I am an eater). Excellent choice on a beautiful fall day as they have outdoor seating as well.

A simple BBQ spot for a quick meal. Pulled Pork and a Pickle was an ample supply of meat with a dill slice. 3 Rib Teaser was just that. Ribs were smoked so long they weren't just fall off the bone tender, even the thin bones were soft enough to eat.

Half rack with mashed sweet potato and Mac and cheese.

Really good bbq and a great old school vibe. Conservative friendly . Only open Wednesday-Saturday. Do not miss this!

I've been coming to Bluffton BBQ since 2017, and we are here yesterday with friends so it's time for a Yelp Review!! I was blessed to live in the Low Country from 2012-2020 and throughout all that time, Bluffton BBQ has to be my favorite BBQ joint. Located in beautiful Old Town Bluffton, they've been around for a few years and are always at the top of their game. I recommend making a day out of visiting this area and having your lunch or dinner here. There's a lot to do in this little coastal town! The menu hits all the right notes, with pulled pork, ribs, whole or half chickens, and a lot more. Their sides include Mac n cheese, collard greens, potato salad, and the best French fries on the planet. There are more options as well but you get the idea. Oh, their sweet tea is just right, but I think that's just a personal opinion, as everyone likes it different. The owners and staff are always nice to you, and your food always comes out promptly. Their outdoor patio is full of greenery and shade, making for a very pleasant experience. Come on over to Old Town Bluffton. Park your car and spend the day. But if you do, make it a point to get some of this amazing BBQ!

Half rack. Fall off the bone delightful!

The smell from a block away should be all the enticement you need to enter. Nothing like that charred/smoked meat smell to get your juices flowing. It's a small place with big flavors. A wall filled with celebrity photos and endorsements isn't necessarily assurance that the food justifies it. But in this case, yeah, it does. If you can't trust Rudy Giuliani when it comes to BBQ, who can you trust? (Don't answer that). We both got the half rack and 2 sides. If you like your ribs fall of the bone tender (I do), these are right up your alley. Seasoned perfectly with a side of sauce, these babies were delightful. Collard greens and potato salad were my choices and both were things I could eat far more of! My wife had the Mac and cheese and loved it. Can't wait to try some of their other items. Deducting one star because I really wanted brisket and it wasn't on the menu. But if you want ribs, this is the place.

It was for our meal - complete with chicken legs and chicken livers and chicken nuggets asking with some good sides including deviled eggs with homemade bacon bits. We also had Mac n cheese, broccoli casserole, tomato and cucumber salad and green beans. They have great hours including brunch until 3pm on Sundays - and they seat until 3pm, which we were grateful for, as we arrived just prior to 3pm. We called ahead to be sure this was acceptable and we were told with friendly, welcoming voices that as long as we were seated before 3pm, we were welcome - so here we are! Yum yum! Checkered red and white table cloths, chicken pens out back, the garden patch complete with scarecrows and a perimeter fence to help keep the critters out are all featured at the locale! There is plenty of hubbub about this place on the talking boards and review boards - and now we've added our two cents - which reminds me that the prices are really reasonable and the service was fantastic! The fried chicken was hot as a fire cracker - freshly made with a fantasist batter. The livers were outstanding and also served piping hot! All the veggies and casseroles were super and served at the perfect temp! The salad and beets were so tasty and they were served chilled and were perfect! Kitschy and clean - and not a bit of mean! We will be back!

They poke holes in the top of your to go container so that when you get home the crust on your chicken isn't soft bc it was steamed from the heat inside the box. They cook it to order which I love. Their brisket is delicious! You can taste the smoke and it's juicy and tender. But my very, very favorite is their ribs! They only have them on certain days. And bc I can only get Pistol Joe's when I'm home and have the time I don't always remember what days that is. I say this bc if my memory serves me correctly, they used to have a little tiny bifold board that sat on the counter in front of the cashier who takes your order that stated whether or not they had ribs that day. So Fri I went in and I didn't see that they had ribs (and I should have just asked, so that's my fault) so I ordered some chicken and then there was an an actual menu laying there (as opposed to the chalkboard hanging from the wall) and it said ribs Wed-Fri. So I quickly asked if they had ribs and the cashier said yes. So I changed my order immediately so I could get some of those ribs. When I went to get my sweet tea the owner (I'm assuming) called my name to let me know my order was ready. When I take my bag I look down and I see the little bifold sign sitting by where the cups are (to the left of the cashier and behind her) and it says ribs Wed-Fri. That's the sign that is usually in front of the cashier. The other side listed desserts or something, I actually can't remember. So I said to him I didn't realize you had ribs today until I saw the actual printed menu bc I'm used to the little bifold board saying whether or not you have ribs. He pointed to a spot underneath the big chalkboard and said "always look here to see if we have ribs that day". Which is fine, from now on I will look below the bottom right corner of the chalkboard to see if they have ribs but they still have that little bifold sign so why not use it? I mean I get if you're not using it anymore but when it's sitting there off to the side maybe get rid of the sign or put it back in front of the cashier. That's just my suggestion. Bc I'm so glad I glanced down at the printed menu bc they have some of THE best ribs (maybe the best) in town. You don't need any sauce. The flavor, the smoke, the tenderness of the ribs stand alone and don't need sauce. They are cooked to perfection! They pull away from the bone just by biting into them (fall of the bone ribs are not how you cook perfectly smoked ribs, they have to stay on the bone until you bite into them). And with the seasoning and the smoke it makes for a heavenly experience. I tried their mac & cheese a long time ago and didn't care for it so I never get it but I did this time around to see if anything had changed. Nope, nothing changed. Their mac & cheese tastes like boxed mac & cheese and if it's not I would be totally shocked. The only difference is that they have a lot of pepper in theirs, which I'm ok with bc I love pepper. But it definitely looks and tastes like boxed mac & cheese. I love their other sides. I would just avoid the mac. The staff is always friendly and the food comes out quickly unless you get fried chicken, you have to wait 15 minutes but it's worth the wait. When I changed my mind about the chicken when I realized they had ribs the young lady behind the register called out to the cook (owner? I'm not sure) and said change that chicken to ribs and he jokingly said "nope, no changing your order". We all laughed, that's another reason why I love this place is bc they treat you like friends. Give them a try, you won't be sorry. I got my order on Fri and it's Sun evening and I'm getting ready to eat my last rib. I've had them for the last 2 nights and I only go a half a rack. They know what they're doing with smoking meats.

The shell was actually the surprise standout -- fluffy, light, and crisp with great flavor. It's nothing like those typical taco salad shells that tend to be greasy or overly hard. This one tasted fresh and really elevated the whole salad. The brisket burnt ends chili was also excellent. It has a tomato-based chili flavor, so if that's your style of chili, this is definitely the one to order. It came with these cute little hard cornbread pieces that soften nicely once they sit in the chili. The chili also includes red kidney beans and had really great depth of flavor. My sister loved the barbecue ribs and french fries, which were a big hit. The smoked turkey was good as well, though it seemed to have a seasoning on it that was a little unexpected. I'm usually not a fan of mustard-based barbecue sauces, but this one was surprisingly tasty with a nice vinegary kick. The traditional barbecue sauce wasn't quite my favorite. Overall, a solid takeout experience. I'd definitely go back and try a few more things -- but the taco shell salad bowl and the chili were the clear standouts.
