What a fun experience I did the lunch BBQ and it was delicious. The marinated meats were fabulous I did lemongrass and the marinated pork bulgogi. If you love pork belly like I do the three choices: plain, lemongrass and garlic were perfect. The appetizer was spring rolls and they were cooked perfectly. They have a large number of sauces from spicy to mild and sweet chile for the spring rolls. They explain the process and how you choose BBQ or hot pot or both. We visited from Boston and were craving some hot pot and KBBQ, a staple for our travels to different regions of the country. We didn't know what to expect going to a hot pot/KBBQ spot in Bluffton, SC, but A9 lived up to our expectations and then some. The KBBQ meats were delicious, especially the short ribs and pork belly. I was even surprised to see ssam leaves which not many KBBQ spots offer, so I made sure to get plenty of them. Our server, Kayla was extremely kind and helpful with any questions or requests we had. She made sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable experience. We also appreciated how helpful the other servers were to the patrons that were less familiar with the cuisine. Very friendly and helpful! Vivi also made sure to comment on how clean the restaurant itself was, especially the bathrooms. Me and all three kids loved it! Came at 7:20. They were kind enough to stay open past 8:00 closing time for us to finish. Entire experience was so fun between grilling your own meat and cooking your own meat and vegetables in a broth of your choice. I highly recommend this experience. And while I dropped in by myself, I noticed several tables of diners enjoying casual conversation, cool beers and hot food for the entire hour and half I was there. I especially enjoyed the galbi (sinewy Korean short rib) and spicy bulgoggi. This place also offers a wide variety of hot pots - korean, pho, miso - and an equal variety of wonderful accompaniments including dumplings, clams, fish balls and more. All really tasty. If the Korean bbq experience is something you haven't tried - or you're looking for a fun, social night out with a group of friends - this place rocks. So different from the usual over-priced low country crap (and man, ain't there plenty of that!) And devoid of tourist (yea!)
