Situated in a really cute area, lots of parking. I stopped here for lunch, I started with some edamame, salty and perfect! Got a green tea and had the lunch bento for lunch, a perfectly cooked piece of salmon, with rice, salad and miso soup. Along with some gyoza (they were ok). I have no idea what happened to Bluefin, but it's absolutely terrible now. This used to be our favorite sushi restaurant, with legitimately the best sushi in the suburbs. They recently "changed the menu" and it's a completely different restaurant. The Bluefin tuna taster looks bizarrely artificially colored, the spicy tuna was gray and oddly frozen, the hamachi scallion was almost inedible. It's so unfortunate because, like I said it used to be excellent but I don't think I'll be back. One highlight was the service-well meaning and nice server but cannot make up for the oddly bad food. read more

This is definitely one of those hidden gems you would not expect in such remote area, when on the way all we saw was trees, then all of sudden the newly developed town center appears, with water park and all the new housing and apartments. Food is amazing but there were minor issues in other categories. -Restaurant- First thing we noticed when we walked in was how modern and nice the restaurant looks. Everything's clean, neat and organized, tables are very well setup. HOWEVER, the issue we had where we sat, all the way at the back of the dining area, where there's just a little too many tables, because it was so LOUD, we almost had to shout to each other. Next time we would probably pick middle or front seating areas. We couldn't really take our time to enjoy our dinner unfortunately. -Service- We appreciate the fact that our waiter advised us he was still in training, it is better that way in my opinion so he can essentially under promise and over deliver. Even though he was new, our service experience was pleasant, check up was frequent but not unwelcome (Not enough to keep us from having conversations) -Food- This is the most surprising part, we did a little research on the restaurant and chef via their website, and saw who the chef trained with prior to this restaurant. I've visited a couple more times since my initial dining experience. My general advice is that if you can't get a reservation on open table, it's probably better to do take out because they're way too busy and table service will be inattentive or choppy. This happened to me in February on a Friday night ordering omakase for a birthday dinner. Each entree took 30 mins to come out and it wasn't timed to when we were finished each course. This was disappointing since omakase is the chefs tasting menu and it's $100+ p/p. More recently I visited on a weekday night and ordered off the menu. The meal was very good, and since they had many reservations available on open table, the table service was well-timed and attentive. I definitely recommend trying the omakase-style dining menu if you have the time, appetite, funds and desire to avoid making decisions about what delicious dishes to order. Usually the most interesting or popular items are included and it changes from visit to visit. This place is BYOB so remember to bring wine or swing by a state store on your way. The ambiance between my visit in January to March had improved. The ambiance seems to have been cleaned up from storing endless takeout containers at the sushi bar which was distracting even when sitting in an adjacent room. read more

Their house soy sauce goes well with everything and the chefs really know how to perfectly balance the flavors that go well with each fish. I loved their torched fatty salmon nigiri which was creatively brushed with their yuzu sauce that went so well with the smoky charcoal cooked salmon! I've eaten here I'd guess two dozen times but slowed down once COVID hit, probably 5 or 6 times since then. Pre-COVID Bluefin was a solid 4/5. Now? Maybe a 2 or 3, and that's only if you can actually get food because the service is absolutely terrible. The last time I ate in it took 50 minutes to bring me a coke in a can, and another 30 after that to bring me my two rolls. They offered a free miso soup as an apology. Tonight my wife ordered takeout and after waiting 50 minutes they just gave her the food for free because all the hot stuff had been sitting so long it was cold, waiting on one roll. She said another customer had a similar issue and they gave her free food too. COVID was hard on a lot of businesses, and customers put up with a lot when the restaurants they lived were fighting for survival, but enough is enough. At some point it's just bad service and apparently Bluefin has gotten to the point where they'd rather just give you food for free rather than listen to complaints. read more

We were recommended this place by a friend so we stopped in for dinner and were a little underwhelmed. I don't have a problem paying more for good sushi, and this certainly tasted fresh, but the flavors weren't impressive and all of our sushi was very salty. That last bit was the worst part because as usual a little soy sauce made the sushi that much better, but with it already being so salty it was just too much. The tea was fantastic! If you're going here then you need to try the genmaicha. We would certainly go again to give it another try, and I do recommend giving it a try, but with that price point we definitely wouldn't return if we have a second underwhelming outing. read more

Absolutely horrible meal this evening from Bluefin. We will not return. We ordered chicken teriyaki, pork shumai, two special rolls, and shrimp tempura role. The chicken teriyaki tasted like it was made yesterday. The chicken was not fresh...it was hard and chewy. There was minimal, watered down teriyaki sauce. The fried rice that comes with the entree tastes nothing like fried rice. It just tastes like bland rice. The pork shumai were awful. Literally zero flavor and tasted like dense, bland meatballs. Sushi was average tasting and even slightly on the fishy side. For the price point, this is a no brainer...we will not return. read more

I took my family here on a Friday evening looking for a quick meal and we ended up experiencing the longest wait time we have ever experienced with any restaurant by any means. It started with the hostess at the front looking frantic and kept telling us the table will be ready soon (like 5 times) - ended up waiting 25 mins. Then we waited for nearly 90 minutes before our entrees came out! This was unacceptable- we had young kids with us who were starving. The California roll shouldn't take 90 minutes. The food was decent, unfortunately the wait time ruined the experience. We did tip the server 18% - kid looks like he was in college and did a good job serving - not his fault the food took so long. One of the nicest sushi restaurants on the Main Line - currently has both indoor and outdoor seating that are spaced well and takeout options. Came in with a group of 7 and had a room to ourselves where we could shut the screen door too. Also it's a BYOB with no corkage fee. Atmosphere: All servers in masks, and tables were well spaced out. Having the private room was a very nice touch - they seem to only have one large table that can accommodate more than 6 people, so would recommend calling in advance for larger groups. Food: Fish was so fresh! Started off with the shrimp and spicy tuna sundaes - good portion of both shrimp and tuna in both, paired with spicy mayo and roe. Also ordered an assortment of rolls - big fan of their new rainbow roll (such fresh fish). Their other rolls also pair well with the crunchy tempura flakes. This was my boyfriend's first time trying bibimbap too, and he loved how crunchy the rice was (and was stunned by how the pot kept the food sizzling). Overall: 4.5/5 - Only downside is that it's on the pricier side. If you're only interested in simpler rolls that are found at all restaurants and don't require fish to be fresh (e.g., California rolls, cucumber rolls), I would recommend others in the area. But if you're looking for tasty, fresh, specialty sushi (with raw fish) and don't mind splurging a bit, would definitely recommend! read more

What a wonderful time at Bluefin Eagleview! From the start, our hostess and servers were kind, patient, and welcoming. They were quite busy and kindly let us know that service might be slower than usual (as it is in many restaurants right now because of covid). However, we had no issues with that. Our waiter was attentive. I appreciate the waiter asking if any of us had food allergies, which none of us did, but it was nice that he checked. Most importantly, the food was phenomenal! I ordered the chirashi bowl and it came with miso soup. We also ordered edamame to start. I'm a big sushi lover, and I've had some of the best omakase in this area. I could tell that the sushi at Bluefin Eagleview is fresh! It was absolutely delicious. The table behind us was giving the hostess a tough time because she felt the sound in the room echoed and she was being slightly rude, but the hostess handled it very professionally and very well-- she was calm, nice, and offered a solution. My friend and I found no issues, however, and we had a wonderful dining experience! I highly recommend Bluefin Eagleview! read more

By far the best sushi restaurant I can find in Chester County, Bluefin Eagleview continues the Bluefin chain spread across the Philadelphia suburbs with its Exton location. High-end, located in the Eagleview shopping plaza, Bluefin offers a wide range of delicious offerings (albeit at a lofty price tag) of raw fish and other Japanese specialties. The environment is very minimalist and appealing to the eye, without too much crowding and plenty of space for both small and large groups. Compared to other sushi restaurants in the area, the sushi is quite fresh and very well-presented--following in the renowned legacy of its established chef. To start, we ordered the Spicy Tuna Sundae (lots of pics of this visually appealing dish to be found on the Yelp page!) and the Tropical Salad, both featuring raw specialty items: tuna and king crab respectively. With limited portion sizes, to be expected expected, both dishes were quite tasty and, dare I say, delicacies in their own rights. Moving onto the main courses, we ordered the sushi main (with 8 sushi selections and a spicy tuna roll), the salmon teriyaki, and finally the Ai Maki specialty roll to finish it off. The sushi main was wonderfully chosen, with great options of raw fish from every corner of the sushi spectrum, and the salmon teriyaki was some of the best quality salmon I have tasted with a delicious sauce. The Ai Maki roll had a beautiful presentation, and was as expected taste-wise for a sushi roll, although the eel was a nice finish to each piece. Something I noted about the taste, not sure if it was just me though, was that it was significantly saltier than other sushi restaurants that I have reviewed... I narrowed it down to the soy sauce, perhaps I have gotten too accustomed to the reduced sodium soy sauce! Don't use too much soy sauce, or risk drowning out the exquisite taste of each piece of sushi/sashimi. In the Eagleview development, the location is convenient and not too close to the hustle and bustle of the Exton shopping mall and plazas. Getting around inside the Eagleview plaza was a little confusing at first, but I eventually found my way to the restaurant, and parking was easy of course. The interior was very well-kept and aesthetically pleasing, great for a special occasion! The price was comparable to other high-end sushi restaurants, but definitely worth the bang for your buck... I highly recommend anyone who's craving sushi in Exton, and I look forward to checking out the other restaurants in the Bluefin chain! read more

My crew likes sushi so we end up having it twice a month or so. Of the several places we have tried in the area, they are the most expensive. We really wanted an early dinner but found that they close for a couple of hours between lunch and dinner so that that foiled our plans. This would not have been a big issue except when I placed my order at 5:15 PM, online they said about 30 mins. After I placed the order and pre-paid for curbside pickup, they said it would be more like 45 to 60 minutes. It ending up being a little more than an hour, so that was not so great. The fish was fresh but the rolls were obviously made in hurried fashion and some of the combinations were not to are liking (not enough sauce, wrong ratio of items, etc). As I waited outside, many people came out with bags and many more waited for tables. So this is not our go-to sushi place but I can see that it would work for some, especially those who live in walking distance. read more

We love Bluefin in East Norriton (the original), but they aren't doing any dine-in on the weekends. When the kids requested sushi on a Friday, a trip to Exton seemed fitting. We called and made a reservation and hit the road. Bluefin Eagleview is tucked in Wellington Square and on this particular night there was live music and lots to see/enjoy before and after dinner. And our dinner was amazing. We all know customer service has been hit or miss during the pandemic. Our service was a hit! Our server was so amazing, checking in and helping us order additional rolls when we were still a bit hungry. She was always there when we needed her but not obtrusive at all. We tried a variety of rolls, some similar/the same as the ones we have had in East Norriton and some different. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and their experience. Some of our rolls weren't rolled perfectly, but the taste more than made up for that. read more

Bluefin Eagleview is hands down one of the best sushi restaurants I've been to in my entire life. Granted, I'm only in my 30s, but I've been dining at sushi restaurants since I was 9 years old! AND I'm from NYC so there's a lot of competition out there. Let's begin at the front of the house. The hostess/manager, Jenny, is absolutely amazing. She is the sweetest and kindest hostess/manager I've ever encountered at ANY restaurant I've been to. The first time I made a reservation for Bluefin, I put in the comments that I was coming with my 5 year old son who is special needs (ASD/ADHD) but he is well behaved so he wouldn't be that much of a problem (sometimes...he does get a bit excited when we go out, but he's still chill!). When we arrived, Jenny was so warm and welcoming! She placed us in a corner table, which was perfect because there is low traffic in that area (less stimulation for my son). My son now refers to Jenny as his "sister" and whenever it's time to go he gets upset because he wants his "sister" to come with us! Funny enough, whenever Jenny comes by the table, he gets very quiet and smiles a lot and speaks very low. He may have a crush on her...idk. Ok, now let's talk about the staff. All of the waiters and waitresses are kind and attentive. What I will say is, Bluefin needs more staff. It gets really busy on Fridays. I prefer to avoid Friday visits because I don't want to bother anyone. But, everyone is doing the best they can. Even Jenny helps out by taking orders and serving food! Everybody on the team is so patient with me and my son and I appreciate that. And I - in turn - am patient with them. If it's busy, I'm not catching an attitude like other patrons, I'm just chillin' because I know they'll get to me when they have time. I don't want them to rush and get things mixed up or drop anything. During our past two visits, we had this really sweet young man who was very nice and attentive and convinced me to get one of the pricy special rolls...it was WELL WORTH IT! That leads me to the food. First of all, the pieces are so yummy! One order is two pieces. I typically get salmon belly sushi (pictured - which I don't believe is on the menu, so if you want it you must ask), toro (either chutoro or otoro), and unagi. They all MELT IN YOUR MOUTH. So delicious! My son typically gets shumai as a starter and a dragon roll or shrimp tempura roll. He's now starting to eat pieces so I order him unagi but he steals my toro all the time! On occasion I get uni. Uni is expensive in general so I get it only when I'm absolutely craving it. The uni is so fresh! I said the pieces melt, but the uni LITERALLY MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH AS SOON AS IT HITS YOUR TONGUE! Sheesh. Absolutely excellent. The chef (sometimes if you're lucky) sends over yummy gifts. Recently he sent over some seared mexican tuna (I think that's what it was). It was thin slices of heaven! In the past, Chef sent over some salmon that had like blue cheese and mango on it (pictured), lord. I didn't even think all those flavors went together! THAT NEEDS TO BE ON THE MENU!!!! They also have yummy desserts, but I'm typically too full to get them! All in all, Bluefin Eagleview is worth the wait and money! Don't sleep on this gem! My parents and I were in the mood for sushi, so I suggested we check out Bluefin--we hadn't been yet. The service was impeccable; our waiter was attentive and gave recommendations and seemed happy to be serving. The sanitation and cleanliness was great. The ambiance was great. The crunchy parts of the sushi (like panko/tempura flakes) tasted like actual wood. It was so disappointing. Maybe they were stale? Some pieces tasted fine, but others there was too dominating of this wood taste. I personally did not eat the leftovers we took home. I see how highly rated Bluefin is, and everything else was great. Much like the other reviews, Bluefin Eagleview is definitely the best sushi restaurant in the Exton area. It's tucked away in the Eagleview TownCenter and is a very happening place on a Friday night. Having been to the Bluefin in East Norriton, expectations were and met! Me and my friend got the Mango Shrimp to start and the Chirashi Bowl. Mango Shrimp was fried just right and sauce was great. For the main course...the Chirashi Bowl. 15 piece sashimi over sushi rice. One of the most freshest and best tasting fish I've had in a while! Seriously one of the best dishes in Chester County!
