Amazing food. Having lived in Boston and New York my standards for a good breakfast have been raised to unreasonable levels and Blue Bird more than meets them. Not impressed. I ate at the Bluebird ten years ago and returned this morning, hoping thT I liked the place better. I did not. It is still dingy and dirty and the food wasn't that impressive. The best home made corned beef hash anywhere. As a single guy who eats out for breakfast all the time, i'm a snob when it comes to hash...but this place blows any other breakfast joint away. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Their prices are all very reasonable .The service is friendly and if you go a few times remembers your order...another lost art among waitstaff. Believe it or not, it gets better - the dinners here on Friday nights are the best kept secret in Wakefield. They offer a different soup every Friday night and they are always phenomenal. I would give no stars if I could! What happened to the huevos rancheros. Had them last year and they were fabulous. Today something was very wrong. The eggs were so not cooked that the plate turned into a runny mess. When brought to the attention of the waitress she brought it back to the cooks who gave her a hard time and cooked them slightly and threw them back at the counter. When I advised the cashier they were unsatisfactory she still charged for them after stating a canned " I'm sorry " . If you want a plate full of slop this is the place. Will not return! read more

Good food at a very reasonable price. They are tucked away in the strip mall across from the post office. The parking lot had spots available, even at brunch time on a Saturday. I ordered a simple breakfast- 2 eggs, toast, home fries. My order came out quickly and it did not disappoint. My dining companions ordered lunch and they were pleased with their meals as well. Bluebird is great! Food is always fresh, well seasoned, and filling. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The bluebird veggie melt is one of my favorites, it's filling and covered with cheese. I always get it no mushrooms add jalapenos. Be careful of the jalapenos, these will burn your mouth off, but in a good way. The venduras/juevos rancheros (whichever you prefer) is also very good. Their homemade salsa is fresh and delicious. Lastly, Bluebird can get pretty pricey for breakfast. Usually for two people we spend around 25 dollars. I never expect it to be that much, but it always is. Also the juice, don't bother with the small. Get a large or just get bottomless coffee. A friend of mine described the small orange juice as being served in a shot glass. They ended up getting a few of them which ends up costing you. All in all a great place to go if you're in Wakefield. read more

Bluebird Cafe is tucked away in a little shopping center off of Kingstown Road in Wakefield. My family and I have been here a few times and it's a really nice breakfast joint. They have a good selection of items and it's very reasonably priced. The service is always quick and friendly. I definitely recommend it. read more

I love the Bluebird! I always go for breakfast and order the same thing everytime- 1/2 order of the huevos rancheros over easy with a side of their kickass home made corn beef hash. If you haven't had it then you need to (if you like hash that is). No alpo type hash- it's perfect! I eat the hash with the beans and egg and cheese from the huevos rancheros and it's always awesome. They have some awesome specials too. I've always just stuck to my favorite but when my friends order all their stuff looks and smells amazing. The plates are usually always cleared by the time we are ready to settle the bill. I've seen some people say they wish the decor was updated, but I think that the old style decor that they have always had is part of the charm there. It's very comfortable and cute. :) read more

So glad I found this place on Yelp when we were staying in Narragansett. Great breakfast: huevos rancheros were a hit with the husband, Belgian waffle loved by the daughter, and I had an omelette loaded with grilled onion, spinach and tomato...yum! Home fries were the real deal, perfectly cooked and delicious not some deep fried pieces like at other places. Service was excellent and friendly; just an enjoyable meal! read more

First off, the dining room is dim and dirty. The menus were greasy and sticky. The tablecloths were sticky and had residue from previous diners caked on. The napkin dispenser and syrup bottle on the table were covered in grime. The butter packets were squishy and the coffee creamers were left on the table. They were not dairy free and they were warm. My friend and I both ordered Belgian waffles with sides of sausage. The waffles were overcooked and dry as dust. The sausage patties tasted like charred fennel seeds. The were burned and most likely Italian sausage patties rather than breakfast sausage. We both had regular coffees. No one came to check on us while we tried to eat the mess on our table. The bill came to $21. Never again. read more

This one is tough for me. I love the food here but they are so very rude to their customers. Over the past year I have had 3 separate incidents where they were so very rude. Two of the times were when I tried to place a to go order. I guess when they are busy they won't fill phone orders which is fine however, to be snappy and hang up on me is uncalled for. If you are that busy than don't answer the phone if you can't be nice. Today they were just rude to my face. I went in and sat at the bar to order food to go. With a huff and a roll of the eyes she says "Oh, That's going to be a long time". So I left. What would make it any longer to throw it in a to go box verses on a plate? Never an apology or a smile. We search out breakfast spots from northern Maine to New York, and you'd be hard pressed to do better than the Bluebird. The specials are extraordinary, the hash is wonderful - order it with confidence! If there's a seafood special, I always get it and always enjoy it. Spots that come close would be Mul's in Southie and Two Cats in Bar Harbor. But if you're anywhere in RI, just head to Bluebird - a great meal at a terrific value! read more

I absolutely love this place! It's got such an amazing friendly atmosphere, the food is consistently delicious, and the waitstaff is always exuberant and cheerful and seem to really love their jobs. The food and prices are a reason to keep coming back, but it's the waitresses that seal the deal. There's this one waitress who treats everybody like they're her best friend and completely redefines "customer service". I highly recommend the Blue Bird Café!! read more
