Turkey and bread were great on the Thanksgiving but the excessively moist-bordering wet- stuffing ruined it for me. Husband said the Italian was alright. With tip this ran $47.00+!-2 sandwiches, 6 onion rings and a cup of fries- just not worth it in my opinion. read more

Oh man, if you are looking for a new go-to sandwich place, you found it! I was too excited to eat my sandwich that I forgot to take a photo (-5 yelp points to me) BUT I will definitely be going back so I will add one then. The counter staff were super friendly and helpful. They asked my name for the order and then proceeded to call me by my name and made friendly conversation. They stock a whole selection of local products on the shelves, which is a great complement to their house made food. There are some tables to eat and enjoy your food in the restaurant in addition to to-go options. I ordered a small Hot Honey Chicken sandwich because it was a "local favorite" and I can absolutely see why! The chicken was freshly fried and perfectly crispy! The honey mustard was had a strong honey flavor with a slight mustard and was a perfect addition to the chicken and the veggies. Loved it! read more

The 401 deli is fantastic. They have one of the best roast beef sandwiches around, served rare and very fresh, I almost don't want to try anything else when I go there. We stopped here after checking out the Fantastic Umbrella factory. Hubby and I just needed a snack to hold us off before dinner (he's Italian so a chicken parm sandwich is a snack) so we split one. It was piping hot (hence the gooey cheese ). It was very good, fresh fried chicken breast which makes all the difference. It's terrible when somewhere just microwaves chicken so it ends up rubbery. The menu has plenty to choose from including an Italian (which has prosciutto) and an Italian American grinder, something for everyone. read more

Was in the area early for a meeting. I love an organized place. Ordered online for pu. Got a text with pu time then a second when the order was ready. So heckin' good! Spicy fries with garlic aioli: DELICIOUS. abundantly seasoned, amazing (not overpowering) dipping sauce. Fresh. Hot. Every single fry eaten. Eggplant parm sandwich: Also consumed entirely, gleefully and amazed by how it was crispy and soft at the same time. Saucy and cheesy and perfect. Hot honey chicken grinder: dripping with sauce, crunchy chicken, delicious. Add in that there's a shop of great little food-related items, sauces and chips and treats, most of which are made by small businesses or environmentally friendly companies. I have visited this establishment a few times, and I have to say while my experience of the food has always been good, the staff really sets this place apart. They are always extremely nice and one time my son was at the Judo next door and forgot his water and they even offered one for free. (We were in a rush and I went back and paid in the tip jar). Also another time i was heading home late and they were closing up but still offered to make me something. They have a very good selection of hot and cold items too. It is one of the only local places where I can get a loaded Prosciutto sandwich with all fresh ingredients. I can't remember where they get the bread from but it rivals some of the deli's I've experienced in NY. This is not just a sandwich shop either. They offer prepared foods also. I usually walk out with a few meatballs to put in my own pasta at a later time. They are amazing. There is also a small authentic selection of Italian treats/goods you can purchase too. read more

My new go to place. Grilled chicken ceaser salad is consistently excellent. Greens are always fresh, the dressing is really good, and the chicken is seasoned and cooked well. Stopped in today and ordered a turkey bacon grinder on soft roll , American Italian grinder on soft roll and chicken fajita wrap. Delicious!! Fresh ingredients, hot off the grill fajita and plenty of fixins. My family actually only ate half the grinders for lunch and and had the second half as an afternoon snack. My picky son said "we definitely have to go back there again." And it seemed to be a family run business and for that we were happy to be patrons. Lots of other menu options I will be trying as well! Just awful. My husband and I ordered grinders the other day, my husband got roast beef, I got tuna salad, and we got some mozzarella sticks on the side. We couldn't even finish the food, there was barely any roast beef on the first sandwich, there was something wrong with the tuna (it smelled off and as soon as I tasted it I knew it was bad). Small on looks, HUGE on taste! I was having an informal get-together at my home for my husband's birthday and to watch some football. I thought it would be nice to let our family and friends choose something from a nearby menu as we like to support local businesses. Although 401 Deli has been around for close to two years, it was our first time trying them. We were sorry we hadn't happened upon them earlier. Each one of us ordered a different sandwich and everyone believed theirs to be the best. I had the Philly cheesesteak and it had lots of lean strips of steak, cheese, and peppers. I have to say it was the finest I've tasted. My husband had the meatball sandwich. The meatballs were the size of a baseball (no exaggeration), and he felt they were a bit dry, so he added extra sauce; Voila - just what he'd hoped for. My brother and his wife, raved about the Italian grinders, and brother-in-law and cousin were thrilled with their Thanksgiving turkey and chicken parmesan sandwiches. We all found the mozzarella sticks delicious too. We will definitely be returning the next time we crave some great food that is reasonably priced and that we know will completely satisfy our hunger. read more
