Small, but excellent healthy option near the Lakeside dock. The owner is extremely friendly and the food is delicious and fresh. Highly recommend anyone interested in a healthy alternative to check this place out!

This was our first time at Lakeside and we happened to come by Bluebird. It was so incredible we came back a second time during our stay. All the food we tried was delicious and homemade and made me feel good about what I was eating! Absolutely loved the Rockin Robin salad! And those dressings were incredible. There is no indoor seating but if it's nice outside there are tables and umbrellas!

After visiting the area for many summers we finally tried this place on a Thursday night as their kitchen was open til a decent hour. We were immediately impressed with the complimentary chips and amazing salads trio that was both fresh and oh so good. I was not familiar with fried salmon( I always enjoy it grilled, broiled, or baked) so I tried the taco featuring three delicately fried pieces topped with pickled onions and a medley of fresh veggies. I swapped my mixed fries for the street corn which did not disappoint but after sampling my husband's mixed fries I realized I made the wrong choice as the mixed fries are out of this world. Similarly, the birria tacos are juicy perfection that I now see why are the popular choice on the menu. Get them. You won't regret it. A seasonal peach margarita also blew my doors off as it was made with fresh and real ingredients - no prep made syrups here. The beautifully preserved lime and peach and choice of rim only added to the wow factor. We left full, feeling pampered and impressed. Can't wait to return next time we're in the Lakeside vicinity!

We had come for the perch dinner and they were out. We then ordered our drinks and a couple appetizers, they were also out of the first two appetizers we picked. The waitress apologized and told us to call ahead before we come next time because they run out of a lot of things! So she put our drink order in and after awhile came back and told us she was sorry but the bartender must have lost our order or something. We did finally get our drinks, but not until after our appetizers. My husband got the grouper sandwich and said it was good. I got the perch sandwich and the perch had no flavor at all and there was only a dab of tarter, about the size of a nickle! I've gotten better perch sandwiches at the drive thru! The waitress was kind and apologetic, but food was very disappointing! We ordered 2 sandwiches, two drinks, two appetizers and split their key lime tart )they call it pie, it is not pie). Our bill was $124. for the two of us. Really can't recommend.

The prices are good and most of us ate the perch sandwich which was delicious and coated in a tasty breading. The doors were open and the outside patio featured tables and a firepit which was lit. On weekends there are musicians playing. Recommend this restaurant for great food and service. Lynda

Very disappointing…read more We have a cottage on the islands and yesterday we had some time available before our ferry so we stopped in to take advantage of their early happy hour (3-6) as we've been there before and enjoyed it. Not this time. It was about two minutes to 3 when we sat at the bar (nobody else at the bar but us) and asked for a menu. The bartender (male) gave us dinner menus so we asked could we please have the lunch menus. He looked at his watch and said "I guess so" and gave them to us. We then asked for the happy hour menu and again, he looked at his watch , decided it was ok, then gave them to us. Not an awesome start but no biggie. We ordered the happy hour calamari, and for lunch I had the perch sandwich with chips and wife got the luncheon steak filet. First the good news. Service was good, food came out quickly and my wife said her steak (while a bit pricey at $35 for a small filet) was excellent as were the green beans that came with it. Now the bad. The calamari was severely over-fried and basically tasteless. My wife asked me "do you taste anything?" and candidly, I didn't. Just the dipping sauce. My perch was equally flavorless, all I tasted was bread. Same goes for the 1/2 baked potato that came with the steak. That looked and tasted exactly like a microwaved potato someone sprinkled a bit of shredded cheese on. Very, very bland. And the homemade chips that came with the perch were the saltiest things ever salted. I couldn't eat them at all, had about three (they looked great) and realized my sodium level would spike off the charts if I ate any more. With two drinks (a happy hour beer & Tito's) the bill with tip was $100 and we couldn't taste the calamari, the perch or the potato and couldn't eat the chips. Insert "not great Bob" animated gif.
