I found this place on Yelp and we met our friends for brunch while in town for a wedding. It's a super cute, cozy spot. They will only seat complete parties but the wait wasn't too bad on a Saturday afternoon. Our server was so nice and explained the menu to us after we told her it was our first time visiting. The waffles are Belgian liege waffles, which are a little smaller with chunks of pearl sugar. Everything on the menu did sound pretty good, but I wasn't super hungry so I ended up just getting a bunch of sides from the a la carte menu: dressed greens, a side of bacon, and avocado. Nate got one of the featured items - a spicy chicken and waffle combo. I also tried the carrot juice cocktail which was strong! Our food came out quickly and everything looked really good. I loved the high quality thick cut bacon. I did laugh at the side of avocado - $4 for 3 slices, but it was fresh! If I lived in the area this would be a go-to spot for me.

I have to say my favorite part about this location has to be the location just steps away from the beautiful water made this location feel so tranquil. It's also located in an area that surrounded by shops. Our wait was 25 minutes however we spent our time exploring various shops in the area and in the building itself. I really enjoyed my potatoes however I have to say w the tofu scramble dish was quite wet and soggy which took away from the dish itself. My family enjoyed their waffles they thought they were absolutely delicious. My only negative although there was a vegan option with the tofu scramble I would love to see vegan waffle options as this is their trademark Dish. Overall the staff was incredibly friendly and I enjoyed the location.

Dear Yelpers, I don't post much good or bad but this place definitely deserves a 6STAR REVIEW! Came here for brunch before our flight back to FL from Cedar Point and I'm so happy we did because it was the best eating experience of the whole trip. This place was super cute nestled in a co-op like market with an amazing menu of breakfast and lunch options. Everyone had a different waffle sandwich and all 5 in the party finished their plates including both kids. Our craft drinks were SO GOOD mimosa flight and blonde bloody Mary were a must try and DELICIOUS! Emily our server was the best server we had in Ohio by far! She was truly amazing! Everyone was friendly and very efficient at this hidden gem. If you're ever in Sandusky you have to stop here for brunch! You will not be disappointed!

This was a really cool spot with DELISH waffles! Very creative menu and a wide variety of options you could have a very decadent waffle or a very savory one with garlic and chives! Mimosa flight was so good and our server was exceptional! Will be back next time we're at cedar point!

Yum. Yum. Yum. Yummy. We came up for Cedar Point and this was by far the best food we had-inside or outside of the park. The interior is cafe happy and the service was top notch. Flavors, freshness, and large portions abound. You will not leave disappointed. The waffles are sweet OR savory and delightfully fluffy AND soft all the way through. Be sure to snag the red skin potatoes-excellently seasoned and add a crunch. Keep it up, my friends. You are making the world a better place.

The classic eggs Benny with potatoes was great. While you're there make sure to grab a 4 pack of waffles to take home. The service was spot on and the ambiance was very laid-back

Absolutely amazing food and amazing service. Small diner, with a very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. This was our first time, and everything was perfect no complaints and we will be back again.

Great spot for breakfast/lunch kick start day in Sandusky. I ended up getting the Waffle Brunch Sandwich. Amazing. It was breakfast sandwich taking to another level. It all starts with the waffle. Perfect. Golden brown, love the flavor, moist, and could have whole of waffles. In waffle heaven. Located right in the heart of downtown. Little tricky find if not coming from certain direction and new area like only race weekend. Heehee. It so worth it. Service five stars. Server she was awesome! Friendly, attentive, had best conversations, and made first time memorable one!!

This brunch spot was really delicious. A hidden gem in a cute Sandusky Marketplace. Nathan, our server was super attentive and continued to check in on us. They have fresh squeezed juices and homemade waffles. Nathan covered the entire menu with us once we settled in. We had a group of 5 and everyone enjoyed their food. I had the savory eggs Benedict and they were so good! The savory waffle really made the dish! I highly recommend this place if you are passing through Sandusky. It's small but we surprisingly were seated right away. Even if we weren't, it's worth a few minutes wait.

Tofu scramble with beans and pickled onion, incredible potatoes, fresh juiced veggies, and awesome chewy waffles.

Hidden Gem in Downtown Sandusky! Whether a local or a visitor from out of town, be sure to check out Wake Up and Waffle if searching for a good breakfast spot--it's quite a find! Located in the Marketplace complex in downtown Sandusky, this place blew me away with its cozy atmosphere, amazing service, and seriously delicious food. They offer a variety of options for all diets, including some fantastic vegetarian and vegan-friendly dishes. I ordered the tofu scramble (yes, in Sandusky!) and it was absolutely delicious. My server was incredibly friendly and took the time to walk me through the menu--she even recommended the carrot-orange juice, which was super refreshing and unique. If you're into brunch cocktails, they've also got a mimosa flight that looked amazing. I didn't order it myself, but it's definitely on the list for next time. The waffles were unlike any I've had before--creative, flavorful, and a total treat. This place is a must-visit if you're in the area. Whether you're plant-based, a brunch lover, or just looking for a great local breakfast, Wake Up and Waffle will not disappoint. Huge thanks to the team here for creating such a welcoming, tasty spot--I can't wait to come back!

What sets this winery apart is its location--it's one of the few places in the area where you can sip wine while enjoying close proximity to the water. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the outdoor seating offered beautiful views that made our tasting even more enjoyable. Whether you're a casual wine drinker or a seasoned connoisseur, the setting alone is worth the visit. We had the opportunity to sample a wide variety of wines during our visit, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The tasting was well-organized, and the staff were both knowledgeable and friendly, making great recommendations based on our preferences. We were particularly impressed with the Pinot Grigio, which had a crisp, refreshing taste perfect for a warm afternoon by the water. However, it was the Cabernet that truly stood out for us. It had a rich, full-bodied flavor with just the right amount of complexity--a balance of boldness and smoothness that left us both savoring each sip. The Cabernet was so exceptional that we knew we couldn't leave without bringing some home. We ended up purchasing two bottles, and I have no doubt that we'll be reminiscing about our time at the winery as we enjoy them in the future. It's not often you come across a red that makes such a lasting impression, but this one definitely did. If you're in the Port Clinton area, I highly recommend visiting this winery. It offers more than just great wines--it provides an experience. Between the friendly staff, the well-curated wine selection, and the beautiful location near the water, it's a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy some truly memorable wines. We'll definitely be returning!

We arrived around 1:30 PM and were pleasantly surprised that our room was already ready -- such a relief after traveling, especially with kids. However, the new luggage carts are definitely a downgrade. They barely hold anything, and if you have more than just a couple of bags, it turns into a hassle. Really hoping they switch back to the old style. The waterpark itself is always a blast, but I do wish the hours were longer. Closing at 8 PM on weeknights feels early when you're on vacation and trying to fit everything in. Same for the sweet treat shop -- we felt rushed trying to get from the waterpark to the room, get dressed, and then make it down to the arcade and grab treats all within about 45 minutes. We chose the Stay & Play package mainly for the arcade credit ($100 each night), but we didn't realize that when you use the package credits, the games don't give you tickets. That was disappointing, especially with kids who love winning prizes. On the positive side, the kids absolutely loved the Build-a-Bear experience. It was pricey at about $100 for two bears, but it is vacation, and they had so much fun that it was worth it. I also really liked the new charging wristbands -- super convenient and nice not having to carry a card around all day. As for comfort, the waterpark air could've been warmer. I remember it feeling much more comfortable in past visits, but this time I felt cold almost the whole time. The hallways were especially chilly. Food-wise, the Pizza Pub was fantastic. We had it delivered right to our room, and both the pizza and the chicken chunks were delicious -- honestly one of our favorite meals of the trip. Overall, even with a few hiccups, we had a fun stay and would visit again. Kalahari still delivers a great family getaway, just with a few things I hope they adjust back to how they used to be.

We contacted resort staff three separate times with serious concerns during our stay and saw no action taken--only empty apologies. That lack of response was extremely frustrating and made it feel like guest experience was not a priority. Going back to the room for a break didn't help. Our room faced a solid wall, did not have a fireplace as advertised, and we dealt with constant loud door slamming and wall pounding from nearby cleaning staff. It was not relaxing and made it difficult to rest. The conditions in the waterpark were also unacceptable. The lines for the water slides smelled strongly of urine, as if people were urinating while standing in line, which was extremely unpleasant and unhygienic. The wave pool was especially concerning. Chunks of concrete were breaking off the bottom of the pool, and I cut my foot on one of these pieces, about the size of a penny. There was concrete grit throughout the water, which was very unsafe - I gave chunks to the staff to emphasize my concerns. On top of all of this, everything was freezing cold. The wave pool water was freezing, the slide water was freezing, and the hot tubs were not hot at all despite hour-long wait lines with 40+ people. Even the indoor temperature felt cold. For the cost of this stay, none of this was acceptable. Overall, this experience was not worth what we paid and fell far below expectations.
