tilapia taco, tiny piece of fish on TONS of lettuce and guac

Get a burrito or a quesadilla. they're close to us so we get them often but have had the most luck with these. definitely do not recommend the fish tilapia tacos... basically just guac and lettuce salad tacos with the Tiniest piece of fish... literally a 1 1/2" by 3 " long piece. not great otherwise the burritos and quesadillas are amazing

Another awesome experience at Blue Water Taco, staff is always super friendly. Got the taco plate with carne asada. Cooked to order, fresh taste, quick and easy. Well recommend and return ASAP!!!

Ok, I had the steak(asada) plate with prawns. The meat was cooked to order and so were the prawns. The flavor was good. The meat was well seasoned and tender. The rice was bland typical Spanish rice nothing special but not bad. The Pico was mainly tomatoes and could have used more onions and cilantro. The guacamole was tangy just how I like it.I would go back again.

I've always been skeptical about mixing seafood with Mexican. Since I was right next door at Piroshki, I figured I should just try Blue Water as well. I wanted to play it safe with just an ordinary beef, pork, or chicken taco, but who does when the place specializes in coastal Mexican? My choice: calamari taco: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/8wzKmZkUCtXI0OIlqnDuvA?select=4n2nZ-d7g86qSbxmRRgJVg The calamari is grilled with onions and cilantro, served on a warm corn tortilla, and garnished with lettuce and pica de gallo (I opted for something spicier). There's a ton of juices flowing out of this taco, it was pretty hard to contain it. But I really enjoyed the flavors, the calamari, hints of cilantro, the spicy salsa, and the light sourness from the lime. For a cost of $3, it was worth it.

Cheese, black beans, and guac nachos on a cold Seattle day!

I work near this location, and I walked down today to check it out. The location is small and tucked between Bank of America and Swedish Cancer Bldg. It can be easily missed if you aren't looking for it! The cantina vibe is well-executed which distracted from how few seats were available and how cramped the restaurant is. I ordered black bean and guacamole nachos, and they were tasty. I was disappointed with the cheese on the nachos and that it was melted in the microwave, but the overall flavor and quality was perfectly acceptable. Honestly, the food was pricey for the amount and quality. $10 for black beans and chips is a bit excessive even by Seattle standards. I probably won't order something so light next time if the price is so steep. I'd rather get a veg burrito or something with a bit more substance.

WTH is this!?!? $9 for a plate of slop. Not happy! Should have not paid for this and walked out. Redic

I enjoy their breakfast burritos, but it really depends on who is making them that morning. Once I decided to get lunch their since I enjoy the burits. I received just a plate of slope for $9. I posted a pic of what it looked like. I was so pissed I about just walked away as they finished splashing it all on the plate. Instead I was starving short of time, grumbled and grudgingly paid for it. refer to pic 7 of 9, this was supposed to be a meal of some sort...FAIL! take some pride in you work, Blue Water Taco Grill.

Asado plate with salmon and corn tortillas ($10.75)

Pretty generic and unremarkable Mexican food if I'm going to be honest. The location is nice; it's pretty close to Seattle University. They also cook their meat to order, so it's not pre-made or pre-heated or anything. Still, this might as well be a fast food restaurant. You place your order at the counter and get your food in a relatively short time. The food is all right. My biggest complaint about this place is seeing a few flies hovering over the food. Now the food is raw, so I'm worried about any bacteria on them not being killed. I haven't gotten sick from eating here, though, so I guess it's not that big of a problem.

We wandered in here after having sandwich overload from several days of potbelly. I decided to have the asado platter which basically was a DIY burrito platter of rice, beans, lettuce, salsa, guacamole and meat. It was delicious, but also slightly more expensive than just getting a burrito and I think just slightly more meat. There were four different kinds of salsas, but I highly recommend the smoky chipotle salsa which had a nice balance of smokiness and spice, and wasn't too hot, even for a capsaicin wimp like me. Parking in the area is a little difficult since it's right by Swedish First Hill, but if you already have an appointment in the area or are visiting someone at the hospital, I highly recommend checking out this place! It's right next to the Nordstrom Tower of the hospital. If you have more than 4 people in your party, I'd suggest doing take out as there aren't too many tables in the place, and most of them are 2 seaters.

Quick and good Mexican food. Fresh tasting. Prices like the major Mexican chain. Enjoyed the Birria burrito. Plenty of food for lunch.

Ordered a quesadilla, it was good but simple. No sides were included in the price. Felt it was a bit expensive for a half quesadilla.

The pork chop was tender, and went well with the homemade vinegar & garlic sauce. The long lumpia shanghai was GBD, and also went well with the sauce. The longanisa had a texture that reminded me of childhood, and the Ilocos sausage (that is less fatty), was a nice contrast. Lastly, the savory corned beef was a good way to finish the big portion of garlic rice. I def needed a nap after this meal. Regarding the ambiance, its a small, casual place that holds 50. You order at the front, and your food is brought to you quickly. There were a lot of Flip clients, but there were also a fair number of non-Flip clients. Many of the clients looked like regulars. The staff is super nice, and they play Hawaiian reggae in the background. All in all, an awesome experience in DT Seattle. There's a reason Ludi's is on Yelp's Top 100 list. I have a trip booked in Oct to SEA, and I'm glad my hotel is very close to Ludi's.

Then we shared 4 dishes: sardine tartine, dal soup, an heirloom tomato and cucumber salad and the halibut entree. Literally everything was delicious. I lived the flavors of the dal soup--cumin, coriander, mustard seed. The tomatoes were super fresh on top of a creamy marscapone. And the halibut was perfectly cooked, with a crispy top and flaky body. I only wish we lived here and could visit more often!

We came in around 1:45pmish and it wasn't crowded. They had an amazing selection of pastries, though I didn't try any. I got their Caramelized Banana Latte to satisfy my sweet tooth, and it wasn't too banana-flavored nor too sweet; the black sesame in it balanced it nicely. I also got the Urban Pesto, which was SO yum. I was little skeptical of the focaccia - sometimes I find it to be too puffy, and thus hard to eat the sandwich - but this had a lovely panini press on it that made it easy to eat. The in-house herby cheese in the sandwich made each bite just that much more delicious. The staff was also super nice and accommodating to my parents' requests and questions. It was quite busy which we anticipated, so I would highly recommend making a reservation. We were seated right away with our reservation time, but it did take some time to be served. I enjoyed the hot coffee with a bit of cream. It was good; my only comment is that I wasn't offered a refill at any point, and we were there for over an hour. To be fair, it was SUPER busy; like at least 100 people in the dining room. I had one of their seasonal specials, the peaches and cream Swedish pancakes. It was a generous portion included with a trip to the berry bar. The berry bar was very fresh and well maintained as far as cleanliness. It was also in a prime location, near the tables but not too close and not in the way of the walking path. The peaches were juicy and sweet and the cream cheese frosting was a decadent topping. I added some berries which made it extra special. I liked the caramel shards, but they were a little on the thick side for my liking and were a bit tough to eat. However, I really enjoyed the dish overall! I also got a side of peppered bacon which was well-cooked, crispy, and extra peppery. My friend got the classic French toast and a side of potatoes. She loved the French toast with the included berry bar trip! However, the potatoes were cut into HUGE pieces which were difficult to eat even though they were cooked through. I would definitely come back here! If you're looking for a popular brunch spot with delicious sweet brunch options, check on Portage Bay Cafe SLU!
