Food is mediocre at best. Very loud acoustically with not a bit of noise dampening. Small portions and 5th avenue pricing with a view of tugs and barge filth. Decor is mismatched on artistic purpose but they missed their intended goal of "Moroccan rustic". Our ginger-haired server, Ian, wasn't rude outright but not polite in the least. We were celebrating a birthday and ordered a slice of cake for the guest of honor but it never came even after 2 requests. Still were charged for food and beverages that were sent back. We even told the waiter the ice tea was awful! The lobster wasn't even cracked so the sauce ended up all over the table and shirts. Save your money and go someplace else. read more

Delicious !! Sat outside on a beautiful night. Nice breeze off of the water. Food was fantastic, started off with Peach Sangria, had an appetizer of crab meat with fresh strawberries with balsamic glaze, for the entree, pork tenderloin that was amazingly delicious, came with a side of mashed potatoes with spinach mixed in. Friends had seafood dishes that they loved as well. Topped it off with oreo cheesecake that we spilt 3 ways. Would highly recommend and the prices were very reasonable. Had dinner on Sun actually for my birthday. Was excited to try it out but left disappointed - the service was very poor. The appetizers however were good but it went downhill from there and they really didn't seem to care although they did give us complimentary champagne when we got the check. Went there friday night, 10 people. Somewhat of a strange start with the maitre d telling us that he rather let us cool off in the waiting room before sitting us. An hour into our meal, sweating profusely we realized what he meant. That was not a good spot But I would be more than ok with it if the food was good. Shockingly bad considering the popularity and the 1 hour wait for some. I cant believe people are waiting an hour to eat here. Overcooked galore. Trout - dry overcooked, lamb shank not very tender, far from "falling off the bone", chicken dry and bland, my "fiery" pappardelle with seafood lacked flavor and wasnt fiery at all. Very basic with canned tomato sauce. Even the pappardelle was overcooked. Very surprising considering I like Beso and Bayou. Some folks warned me that this place is only good for lunch but I finally had to go to experience it myself. Couldnt have asked for better service after a nice day. My in laws and I went here for lunch with my small son and husband, and were waited on by a waitress named Cayna. She was so friendly and had a great personality. The food came out fast, and was tasty. The views outside were nice as well as the sitting area outside. The passing boats kept my son occupied. Called to make a reservation for 6 people at 11:30am the day before they said that they would call me back but never did. 7 hours later and know one knew what I was talking about. Beautiful day and wanted to sit outside with the lovely view. While the were 15 empty tables in the shade, the only option allowed even after multiple requests was to sit in the blazing sun or inside. Why, you ask? 1) its the policy. 2) the tables in the shade are too small to serve a meal. We were then seated at a table literally 1/2 the size of the shady tables but INSIDE. Asked to speak to the manager who was first just "out" and then "not here today." All around very disappointing and one of the silliest policies ever!! If you're going to have a stupid reason - like the tables are too small - don't put the party of 2 at a table inside that is so mall our lunch plates would not fit. Our enthusiasm soared as we sampled the beets and goat cheese salad. Our tongues salivated and our eyes grew wide and filled with anticipation. The roller coaster ride of delight soon took an unforgiving turn and plummeted as we bit into the octopus tail. It seemed no different I tell ya than biting into pure rubber. As a Matter of fact we could not tell the difference and we were very confused. Our entrees were mediocre and so was dessert. I decided to go out on a limb and try the Spanish coffee with brandy. Portions are not large by any means(they're small actually and not great if you plan to share)- I feel like this restaurant thinks it's in Manhattan and wants to charge you as such but no, they are in Staten Island. I ordered a salad as my dinner but alas it was the size of a side salad other establishments. Other people in my party had ordered a steak and had to choose between a vegetable or potato, as a side...what? Normally you would receive both. I just can't stand paying MORE for LESS. we came in on a tuesday So we ended up ordering 4 appetizers in the order of our favorites: Scallops, Avocado Carpaccio, Grilled Octopus and Thai Calamari. the scallops are so tender, with the sauce oh my goodness i've never tasted anything better... this is one of those apps that you HAVE to order Avocado Carpaccio surprisingly is 2nd of the favorite that i had this night and i say surprising because i love my calamari/octopus/seafood - reason being is that all the flavors with the cheese truffle compliments each other so well that i'm glad it was recommended. the grilled octopus was so tender and though they give you a slice of lemon, it's not needed in my opinion lastly the calamari wasnt bad - it's just that it wasn't anything super special but i ordered it anyway because of my sheer love for calamari. it has a slight slight slight hint of spiciness but nothing that someone who cant take spicy cant handle. i ranked this last because it would just seem like it's fried calamari tossed very well with sweet chili sauce - of course this is a very over simplification but just how i saw it. For the entrees we ordered: Lamb Shank and the Seafood Pot. the lamb shank was very tender and falling off the bone. the cheese risotto was quite creamy and stringy so i'm assuming it may be a combination of various cheeses. overall this dish is something i probably i wouldn't want to order again but in reality i probably would only because of the menu selection i feel that wouldn't justify the price (for instance, knowing how much supermarkets sell chicken breast, pork chops, steak, etc) - not saying the $30 price for the lamb shank dish is worth it but it would be 1 of the two dishes i would order the 2nd dish would be the seafood pot - word of warning, if you're not a big lemon fan, then you shouldn't order this because the taste of the rice noodles and the dish itself isnt overpowering with lemon flavor but rather the lemon flavor is present. this dish has a decent amount of seafood included so it would be the other of the 2 dishes i would order should i come back here again For desert, the blueberry bread pudding isnt listed on the menu but is listed on the Pre Fix so if you want something that you probably wont get anywhere else, go for the blueberry bread pudding. very moist, sweet and delectable! out of the 3 restaurants, i would go to the other 2 over Blue, not because they are bad but because i think overall, there were dishes that Bayou and Beso have that i 'm more interested in having. read more

Amazing restaurant - went here for my birthday. Had the "love letters" which were a mix of shell and crustaceans in a tomato sauce. The scallops, mollusk a, lobster tails were very good but the sauce was overly salty. My wife had the flounder, said it was very good. Very romantic place. The only downside (and why I took off a star) is that their cocktails were watered down. Will definitely come back. read more

What a wonderful gem of a restaurant on Staten Island! My husband and I went there for the first time tonight. We wanted to sit outside but the hostess said it was a 20min wait but to sit inside it would be immediate. We chose to sit inside and we got to sit by the window with full view of the river and the sunset. Beautiful setting and ambiance! The waitress was very nice. The pita bread was nice and stayed warm. We had chicken wings with teriyaki and mango for the appetizer. It was delicious!! My husband had the shell steak with baked potato. It was cooked to perfection and very juicy. (Yes I had to taste it.) I had the shrimp stuffed with crab over "black" pasta. Even though it was only 3 shrimp, they were big and the dish was amazing! Overall romantic with great food with a desire to try other dishes on the menu next time. That's right, we'll be back! read more

I came in on Mother's Day and was unsure about having a $59.95 prefix menu. The choices were limited but overall worth the money spent. I personally had the mushrooms and goat cheese which were okay and for my entree the Surf n Turf which was delicious. My steak was cooked just right and the mac and cheese was to die for. For dessert I had the bread pudding which came with coffee ice cream. It was a bit soggy but delicious nonetheless. I cannot exaggerate enough how great service was. From the host and hostess who greeted my family with a smile to our server Kristen. She was polite, insightful, and full of energy. Everything you want on a stressful holiday! We did not feel rushed and it was just enough time to enjoy ourselves. I cannot recommend this place enough. The food was great but service blew me out of the water. Came here for my birthday on April 21 place was great. The food was amazing. Also the atmosphere is beautiful, plus you have the view of the water. Will definitely be coming back again. This place should be packed 24/7. We need to spread the word that the food here is great. We also had a cute waitress don't remember her name. She was Asian American thats all I could remember not that it matters, she was very polite and very friendly. I'm actually thinking about making a monthly trip to this restaurant. Everything was excellent. The atmosphere was slightly European, the staff was friendly and attentive (although they weren't busy). Came here on an outing to Staten island on a Thursday night looking for an al fresco setting with my fiance. We were both pleasantly surprised. Ordered two appetizers. The lamb ravioli and vegetable terrine. The ravioli were amazeballs; al dente homemade pockets of pure pot-sticker goodness, stuffed with bits of pulled lamb shank that had been simmering all afternoon. We decided to split a mango arugula salad (a nice balance of sweet, tart and creamy with nubs of goat cheese) and a seafood stream pot/ frutti di mare served over rice noodles (perfectly cooked shellfish with a nice kick from the lemongrass). What surprised me was that both dishes came on separate plates, without even having to ask. That refreshing level of thoughtfulness is reiterated in the food, service and decor. The outside seating under the pergola is the perfect setting for a date, despite the industrial sized shops floating by. Service was a bit slow as others mentioned but the food and friendliness more than make up for it. All in all a wonderful experience. Were this in brooklyn, you wouldn't be able to get a table. read more

Beautiful outdoor seating ! had one of the best dinners on the island. Great service, and there was no wait at all ( it was a Tuesday evening). I do wish they take reservations, we will definitely go more often , however on weekends the wait its over 40 minutes , not sure if anyone would like to wait that long. read more
