tl;dr would avoid this restaurant it's 2025. These guys don't have tap to pay. unknowingly to me, I replaced my order. I went to pick up window for my order. And then I tried to tap, the gentleman said "we can do cash or card". I said "I only have tap" and then he was like "OK well I'll comp it and give it to my employees". dumbfounded, I said " great Customer Service" and drove off. had the guy asked for the card number I would have been able to give it to him but, I guess he didn't want my business. i have been a blue sky customer for years but the last time I went into the blue sky on 98th was the worst chicken strips ever. Overcooked, greasy, and the breading was terrible. It was a to go order and we didn't see the food until we got home. Won't make that mistake again. read more

Place isn't terrible. Burgers are not bad, but none of the sides appear to be made in house. Obviously frozen. Same with queso, ranch, etc. I'm okay with that at a certain price point, but this place charges crazy high prices and they charge you for EVERYTHING. My daughter ask for queso on her burger and they charged us $3 just for that. I had also ordered cheese fries and they did not come out. When I walked back to tell them about the mistake, I was forced to walk back and get my receipt to prove that I paid for them. Seriously? Very good burger! Much better than a chain place. The bun looked homemade and was very fluffy and delicious. Burger was juicy, needed a napkin. (Good thing). Fries were homemade. You have to buy them separately, but for 2 cheeseburgers it was about $21 with waters. Cool atmosphere. This place is okay, it could be a lot better. We went here tonight and ordered a double bacon cheeseburger, Greek chicken sandwich and fries/onion rings. The Greek chicken was meh- the chicken breast was too thick for the bun, making virtually all of the toppings slide off. I asked for no tomatoes and got tomatoes. They give you a small cup with salad dressing in it to drizzle over the sand which- it would be a lot tastier if the feta was stuffed in the chicken or already on the Sandwich. I love many things about Blue Sky. The burger flavor is rich and beefy with a good crust from the grill. They will let you order from the kids menu if you trend to smaller meals, which makes me super happy. They will split your basket 50/50 fries and tots or ORs. Their tots are old school; crispy and salty. And I love the lightly spicy jalapeño ketchup. We tried the onion rings but they were a big disappointment because they were more onion strings than rings and quite greasy. Lots of soft drinks to choose from (free refills) as well as beers for all over Texas. Dining area was spacious with seating available outside. Enough TVs to watch any game you may be interested in. Wait staff is there mostly to make sure all is well with your order and to keep the area clean and clear. There are a lot of burger places in Lubbock to try and Blue Sky Texas should be on that list. Went there with my brother after a day of being hung over. I had been told they had amazing burgers. The Good: I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with tomatoes, jalapenos, and mayo. While they don't let you pick how to cook the burger, it was already cooked medium well and still juicy. It sobered me up for another night in the Depot. My girlfriend ordered a Greek salad and it was huge with crisp vegetables. They served up the burgers quickly and everything was reasonably priced. There's a ton of seating and it's open to sit where you choose. The Bad: The parking lot does fill up. The beers are a bit pricey for Lubbock. Everything is sold separately, so if you order a burger you will only get a burger. Overall: I will definitely stop by there again for a burger. read more

Burgers are made to order when you order. Meat is on the thinner and greasier side. Sides are also really good and they offer a variety of onion stings, fries, and tots in different fashions (cheese, chili, green chiles, etc). They have beer on tap and in bottles as well as mixed drinks including margaritas. They also offer AMAZING milkshakes made with Blue Bell ice cream. It's a nice casual environment. Order at the counter and pick up your food when your number appears on the screen. Several times an employee walked by to ask if everything was all right which I appreciated. For a place with burgers in the name, I think that burgers are the third best thing in the menu (and I've already said they are pretty good).
