For a lot of reasons, this particular location of Five Guys has always been my favorite. On this particular visit I was very impressed with the food, cleanliness of the restaurant and overall customer service. I gotta tell you the tiny order of fries is not tiny, the size of the burger patties are still impressive and the taste was memorable. GROSS !!! I ordered and then went to eat at home, when I opened up my grilled cheese there was 2 HUGE blonde hairs in the cheese. I called and got attitude from the worker who answered saying "what do you want me do about it "... I suggested wearing hairnets because no one cooking was and I specifically checked my food for hair knowing they weren't wearing any hairnets. There was a tiny white woman wearing a cheetah print long sleeve, a younger looking kid with a septum piercing, a larger white woman (who i think answered the phone) and an African american young man. I think maybe another worker but U don't rememever. I understand it was an honest mistake but there needs to be precautions so that this doesn't happen to food you pay for. Have eaten here before with OK service. I just called twice to place an order and was put on hold twice and then hung up on twice. I drove to the store which was only 2 minutes away after they hung up on me the second time. I asked if they routinely hung up on customers and was told I was put on mute because they were busy which they weren't. Didn't offer an explanation or an apology for hanging up on me twice. I guess the take it or leave it attitude is what we have deal with these days. read more

This is definitely the best burger place in town (though, Burger-Fi gets real close). We never leave disappointed from here and a family of 4 can eat for right around 30$. They don't take 45 minutes to get your food out to you (like Heff's). They have some of the hottest jalapeños every time we come here too so if you like a little spicy this is your place. It's clean friendly fast and affordable. You can't ask for anything more from a great burger joint. It's unfortunate that some idiot would give it 2 stars for not having milkshakes. This place is 4-5 stars guaranteed and morons that give low stars for an establishment not serving them something they feel entitled to get need to stay off the internet. With all my heart I love Five Guys but I'm a little disappointed by this particular location. The food was just as delicious as the 19th street location, but the restaurant wasn't nearly as clean. The service was fast and the fries were out of this world, but I'll stick to the original Lubbock location. Every trash can in the place was over flowing and the floors were real greasy and slick. It almost felt like I was ice skating to get a refill or pickup my food. About 2/3 of the tables were being used, there wasn't anybody in line, and about four employees were behind the counter waiting on something to do. If any of these people acted like they wanted to pick up the place at all then I would be impressed with the new store. I really think/hope that all this is a growing pain with opening a new store, but I surprised and disappointed. read more

I had to grab a to-go lunch with my niece and nephew on our way to the park. I randomly chose Five Guys, and it was a pleasant surprise. The Good: The burgers are custom made. They have a easily read list above the cash register that has every possible topping you can have added. Every extra topping was free. The burgers were juicy, meaty, and packed full of flavor. They were well proportioned so that one would fill you up but not make you feel sluggish. The Bad: The decor was a little weird. Everything they had up was a news article about how good Five Guys was. Everything else was reminiscent of an In-N-Out. Overall: They're on my list of go-to burger places in Lubbock. to start i would give them zero starts if i could. i ordered the veggie sandwich ON THE MENU with cheese. waited 15 minutes for my food, not extremely terrible. when i opened the bag there was one random burger and a veggie sandwich with no cheese and ice cold "grilled" veggies just thrown on top. i sent it back and told them i ordered it with cheese. the worker looked extremely confused and i just said i ordered it with cheese. 15 minutes later my sandwich came out...WITHOUT cheese and a dark black hair. YUM! another 15 minutes pass by and my sandwich comes with cheese... finally. only took them 40 minutes to get a simple order correct. i was able to get a refund. read more

This is not my first visit to this location. One is always greeted well. Today I just had the cheeseburger with fixins and a few peanuts. The burger melted in the mouth --just perfectly prepared. I have to say I have never really cared for hamburgers, but my husband needs a fix once every 3 months or so, so we go here. I actually really like these. I like the very simiple menu and they always do a good job. I get a regular with bacon and cheese and put grilled mushrooms, mustard, raw onions, and lettuce on it. That is my combo. And I think it is the combo of mushrooms and mustard that really does it for me. The fries are just too heavy in my opinion. We used to get a large and split one, and then a regular, and then we realized we just weren't eating that many of them so we stopped ordering them. read more

Not a fan. Spent way too many hours in the bathroom after eating this burger, but I'm not used to so much fatty meat. I only had a few of the fries, which were quite good (and even better made into a hash the next morning). This might be great for someone who is OK with American cheese on their burger, but I'm not. I despise it. The staff was very friendly and seemed to work well together. They kept the place sparkling clean. The burger itself was quite tasty, as soon as I got rid of the cheese. I was surprised that a regular burger is a double patty, so go small if you only want one. You choose whatever toppings you want, so it's exactly what you like. I liked that option. There's too much other good competition for burgers, I wouldn't go back knowing I didn't have a real cheese option. This place is a good value for a decent burger. I love that the burger and all the fixins are made fresh just for you. You get to decide what goes on the burger. They don't charge extra for the "fixins" as other places do. I like grilled jalapenos on mine. YUMMY! Their "little" burgers are one patty (as opposed to 2 in the normal size burger) are plenty big for the average eater. They aren't as greasy as other burger places so that is a plus. If you try the fries, make sure to try the cajun ones as they have a little kick. I'd recomend sharing the fries with a few friends as the regular size portion is plenty big. They don't have a huge menu. Just burgers, hot dogs and fries. But they do make a tasty burger! read more

I love comming in here because I get to do my James Brown feet shuffle/slide thingy! The floors are greasy! maybe wear some yacht shoes when you go in... The burgers were good. My friend who is from Cleveland, though, said that they were nowhere near as good nor as greasy as the ones in Ohio ( maybe 'cause all the grease is on the flo'!). The Guys working here are Wonderful and keep the place Super Clean. You can get a Lettuce Wrap instead of a Bun, Fries come in abundance...and crispy, hot, salty, goodness. I decided to order online from Five Guys one blustery, cold night in Lubbock. Online ordering was easy. I left hotel and drove to pick up my food, only I drove to the WRONG Five Guys - I'd ordered my burger at the place across town. Once I drove several more miles and got my order, I realized that since I'd screwed up and caused an hour delay, my order was soggy and cold. Not their fault. I asked if they could remake my order and I'd pay for both - after all, my mistake. They remade my food order despite a very long line of customers, got it too ,e quickly, and insisted I not pay twice. I left a large tip for their generosity and understanding.
