    Grilled Cheese

Food is good grilled cheese, hamburgers, hotdogs, fries and now patty melts. So many toppings to choose from. Burgers are always juicy and the fries are soft.

    blonde hair ^

GROSS !!! I ordered and then went to eat at home, when I opened up my grilled cheese there was 2 HUGE blonde hairs in the cheese. I called and got attitude from the worker who answered saying "what do you want me do about it "... I suggested wearing hairnets because no one cooking was and I specifically checked my food for hair knowing they weren't wearing any hairnets. There was a tiny white woman wearing a cheetah print long sleeve, a younger looking kid with a septum piercing, a larger white woman (who i think answered the phone) and an African american young man. I think maybe another worker but U don't rememever. I understand it was an honest mistake but there needs to be precautions so that this doesn't happen to food you pay for. Will not be going back there and will be emailing further on.

With all my heart I love Five Guys but I'm a little disappointed by this particular location. The food was just as delicious as the 19th street location, but the restaurant wasn't nearly as clean. The service was fast and the fries were out of this world, but I'll stick to the original Lubbock location. Every trash can in the place was over flowing and the floors were real greasy and slick. It almost felt like I was ice skating to get a refill or pickup my food. About 2/3 of the tables were being used, there wasn't anybody in line, and about four employees were behind the counter waiting on something to do. If any of these people acted like they wanted to pick up the place at all then I would be impressed with the new store. I really think/hope that all this is a growing pain with opening a new store, but I surprised and disappointed.

I had to grab a to-go lunch with my niece and nephew on our way to the park. I randomly chose Five Guys, and it was a pleasant surprise. The Good: The burgers are custom made. They have a easily read list above the cash register that has every possible topping you can have added. Every extra topping was free. The burgers were juicy, meaty, and packed full of flavor. They were well proportioned so that one would fill you up but not make you feel sluggish. The Bad: The decor was a little weird. Everything they had up was a news article about how good Five Guys was. Everything else was reminiscent of an In-N-Out. Overall: They're on my list of go-to burger places in Lubbock. That's good because it's still fairly small.

15 minute wait for a burger that's burnt to a crisp? No thank you. Very disappointing will not be back.

Some of the best burgers in town. Hot and juicy, and fresh cut fries. Clean dinning area, and great service. One of my fav burger joints.

Everything about this place was fantastic. The food was absolutely amazing. The burgers were cooked perfectly, the fries were delicious, and they have a great selection of beers to go with it. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the staff. Our waiter, Drew, went above and beyond. He took the time to walk us through the menu, answered all our questions, and kept bringing extra sauces, jalapeños, and anything else we might want without us even having to ask. Another young man named Zo stopped by our table twice just to check in and make sure everything was perfect and to see if there was anything he could do to make our visit even better. That kind of attention and genuine hospitality really made an impression. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. My mom and I might be a little older than some of the crowd, but we felt completely comfortable and right at home. Great food, great vibe, and outstanding service. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Lubbock!

I went in for a late lunch on a Wednesday and there were only a handfull of people so I cant comment much on the vibe but its spacious and looks like it could be a fun place to hang out. I decided in the Guinness burger paired with a Guinness. It was deliciuos. Perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. The fries had a nice seasoning and I loved the Sriracha ketchup. I hope to come back soon to try another delicious burger.

11June2026 I have been married to a Lubbock Native for 27…read moreyears now, and for all of this time, I have been hearing about Spanky's, just across from Texas Tech University. She has been hyping up this joint forever and during this trip to her hometown, we ended up there on our first night we were in town. On the outside, it looks like the typical university food joint that could be at any university town across America. It was small with a few tables and booths and had stuff across the walls that yelled TEXAS TECH RED RAIDERS so loud that it could be seen from the ISS. Apparently, the owner is a big fan and possibly an Alumna of TTU. We ordered the hand dipped mushrooms and onion rings to go along with our burgers. Little did I know what an experience the two appetizers would be. Lets just say that I have NEVER has such wonderful shrooms and rings ... ever. Thats saying something. The mushrooms are not the typical soft, mushy ones that many places serve out of the Sysco bags ... no, these were easily identifiable as button mushrooms even through the crispiness of the batter. Firm, sliceable and easily skewered by a fork to be dipped in ranch sauce. In short ... they were lip-smackin good. The onion rings, dipped in the same batter, cooked in the same oil and served at the same temperature were just as delectable. They were thick sliced sweet yellows that held their toothiness throughout the frying process. Just the bite into it was yummy, sweet and crispy ... all at the same time. These reminded me of the onion rings I used to get at Tookies down in Seabrook, Tx during the 70's and 80's. For my main, I chose the "Hotter than Hell Burger" with crinkle fries. I like hot and spicy and expected it to actually be hotter than it was. The sliced jalapeño and habanero spread were present and did the job of letting my taste buds know they were doing their job. It just wasn't the knockout I was expecting from a burger place serving university students that would eat really spicy stuff on a dare. Don't get me wrong, that burger was really good, just as my Wife said it would be. That statement is truth, not hype, but hotter than hell, naah. More like hotter than heck. My biggest disappointment was the limited selection of good beer. Light beer, cheap lagers and Mexican standards. Would it hurt to put in an IPA or a Stout? Overall, the staff were wonderful and answered any of the myriad of questions I had about their fare. It was an actual experience for me, especially after all of the hype my Wife told me over the decades. Usually, after a big span of time, places from our youth let us down. Spanky's is NOT a place like that. I will be sure to make it there on the next trip to Lubbock ... even if my Wife isn't with me. Ciao, Darrell
