I stayed at a hotel down the street from this Torchy's location as I visited Lubbock for a conference so I walked from the hotel. I was excited to hear there was a Torchy's nearby because that's one of our favorite places in Houston. However, I was disappointed to see how bad this location was. The service was pretty much non-existent. I didn't interact with anyone until I got my food. The locations in Houston/Katy, staff are always attentive and ask if you need help when you self-order, which I appreciate. Over 30 minutes to get our food. Way too slow for Torchy's. Not even that busy. Bartender was nice though.

you have a rude manager with some slow times that are not worth your food. I'll let you know that before I spend another dollar at this establishment it's never gonna be worth it so I hope you guys pick up the customer service and effort in your restaurant because it's severely slacking do your diligence and make sure your restaurant is clean fast and efficient at getting orders out. Absolute horrible service, i would rate this a zero if i could. I was in a group of six but 2 people ordered separate and 2 tacos each which should take 15 minutes max. We waited for 45 minutes to get our food and decided to get refund because everyone else who came in 20 minutes after us already got their food. Then we refunded and they said it would come out in one second and we're still waiting it's been at least 7 minutes. They also said the manager would come out but they never came out or apologized. They have horrible service and i would not recommend coming here if you value eating at a respectable restaurant. I usually love torches but this is horrible and so rude. read more

I LOVE this place and have been to Torchy's in several Texas cities. I had a two different tacos, an avocado and a shrimp, both were amazing! First time here and this place did not disappoint. There are menu's available for you to browse while you're in line. You can also ask for a water cup when ordering your food. Food was delicious. I had a Tipsy Chick (chicken) taco, a Baja Shrimp taco and a side of Street Corn. A nice mildly spicy Bloody Mary completed the meal. The tacos were well served and it wasn't busy on the Monday afternoon we visited. Will definitely try again. read more

Located right across the street from Texas Tech so pretty busy around lunch time. Always start with chips and queso. My favorites are the shrimp Baja and the crossroads tacos on flour tortilla. They are generous with their fillings for both. The brisket in the crossroads taco is so tasty and not fatty at all. My family and I ordered in Saturday night a to-go order. Prior to ordering, I've never had an issue with Torchy's. My sister is vegan, which means no animal products at all should be added to her meal. She ordered the Independent and it came with meat on it. Not only could she not return the taco due to closing time, but she also didn't have a meal to eat. The taco specifically says no meat included but instead it had meat on it. We asked to remove the cheese too, but again cheese was added. When it comes down to explaining what veganism is it makes you wonder if folks are educated. I know not many people know what it means to be vegan but still when you're taking an order over the phone you should still understand what the customer needs. read more

Nice staff large location. My first Torchy's experience was in Austin. In LBB for work so I had to get some Torchy's. Full bar. Ample seating inside. Took my time looking over the menu and settled on a taco, burrito, and a Jarritos. Sat down. Food was slower considering it wasn't packed. But gave me time to look the place over. Girl seemed pretty disinterested dropping off the food. The cashier was chatty and made me feel welcome. We talked about the Torchy's that just opened in Denver a bit ago. Burrito was ok. Blake beans and veggies. Too much inside though so it seemed like mush. Wouldn't order it again but the fried Avocado taco on corn was awesome as always. Definitely a taco fan of theirs. read more
