Arandas taqueria used to be the go to spot for my wife and I. They have been low performers on our local news station several times now. The service is very terrible now. Especially if trying to call in an order they never do answer their phone. Also found a $1.50 mystery fee on my receipt the last time we ate here, it was not the CC fee either. read more

I really enjoyed this trip to Arandas, but the food is always good. I had the steak ranchero, which is two cheese enchiladas with ranchero sauce topped with pieces of steak. There was also sour cream, guacamole, rice, beans, and pico de gallo. The enchiladas and sauce were excellent. The steak was tender and had lots of flavor. Our server was prompt and friendly as well. Honest, short review: I do not recommend this place if you are looking for authentic, rich and flavorful food. If you want to eat somewhere like that, I recommend Autlan on 50th. Detailed Review: Their barbacoa was very dry and did not have any seasoning. I couldn't even taste any salt. The burrito came with lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream, and even then it was dry. The table salsas and chips were mediocre. They didn't taste horrible, it just tasted like it came from HEB or Walmart. Nothing homemade. Their pastor was flavorful, however greasier than other places. And their portion sizes here are large. Enough that everyone was stuffed, so that's a plus. And their prices are reasonably affordable, also another plus. Service here is quick and there wasn't a wait line when we came, but that was also around 6:40pm. read more

Found this place using a Google search. Being from San Diego, good Mexican restaurants have been hard to come by. I'm glad I stopped by here. It's a very nice family run business, nice decor, appropriate music, and just a great atmosphere. I ordered the beef, chicken, and shrimp fajitas called the Paradilla. Cooked with bell peppers onions, and tomatoes, it was fantastic. You also get the side of shredded lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, and I opted for beans versus the rice, and had the corn tortillas. The meal was extremely satisfying. The fajitas came out on a sizzling plate and was served as it should be hot and sizzling. You get 4 warm corn tortillas in a tortilla holder, and cold red salsa in a bottle. That was amazing. I love refrigerated salsa. To me, refrigerated means it hasn't been sitting out and is most likely fresh. That's my understanding. Don't ruin it for me if I'm wrong. Lol. Left here full and satisfied. Aranda's may not be fancy but the food is terrific. I've been there multiple times and it's always crowded. No reservations so just get ready to hang out for a little while. You won't regret the wait. Not only is the food very good but it is reasonably priced. Try the Green Enchiladas and Fajita Beef Nachos. The frozen margaritas were good enough and were only $3.25! The staff is friendly but in peak times it can take a little while to get your food. Will always stop in when I'm in the Hub City. read more

Love the friendliness of their staff. Busy as they are on weekend mornings, they are always friendly and helpful. My go-to is their menudo with two crispy tripas burritos. The flavor and body of the menudo is awesome! It has enough content to make every spoonful filled with meat and hominy. I just wished it had more heat. The crispy tripas burritos goes so well with the menudo when you add slices of jalapeños to it. I would give them a 5-star but my "crispy tripas burritos" phone order usually comes out wrong and I end up with crispy chicken burritos ... this is most probably due to the loud music and staff chatter where their phone is. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Lubbock! I love the Al Pastor Gorditas and the Barbacoa Tortas. The Al Pastor has so much flavor and it goes really well with the soft gorditas. Usually the barbacoa that I get is extremely greasy and makes me feel bloated afterwards, but the barbacoa here has the perfect balance of fat and meat. I also really like the beef fajita nachos. The cheese sauce is very good compared to the melted shredded cheese used in many other restaurants. I don't really care for the beans and rice as they are a bit flavorless, so I recommend ordering the a la carts entrees rather than the plates. The service here is also quick and the food comes out pretty fast. read more

I was really excited to try this restaurant after seeing all of the great reviews on Yelp. It started off great! The chips and salsa were excellent. I ordered the parradilla (spelling) - basically steak, chicken and shrimp fajitas. It was good but a little dry. The worst part of dinner was the guacamole. It was bland and didn't have enough salt. I tried to add salt but it didn't save it. Overall, this is a good place. I am in Lubbock for a couple of days and I may come back and try one of the more traditional dishes. Yes!!! I know when I walk into little places like this, and I'm the only white girl--I feel at home. I got two carne asada tacos with beans and rice and this dish did not disappoint this Arizonan. The corn tortillas tasted homemade, and held up until the last bite. The meat was well seasoned, but the beans and rice could use a little more flavor. Horchata was on point. Waitresses were efficient and on top of their tables as well as catching other waitresses tables. What they did poorly, input and output. Seat yourself when it is busy doesn't work well. You pay up front, right in front of diners. They don't deliver tickets, so cashier has to dig through pile to find your bill and you need to know your table number. Space is a premium, so I would recommend changing the flow. read more

We were happy with our to-to meal, but not Wowed. I was impressed that they helped me with my bags to my car. They included set ups with our order (which we needed).
