The food is pretty good for the price. Very cheap for large portions. That being said you obviously aren't getting great authentic Mexican food you are getting pretty good Tex Mex. For the price I'll rate it 5/5 all day. Service is fast but they won't put up with bs. If you experience attitude it's probably because of you. Ordered takeout for dinner. Unfortunately it was the evening of storms and bad flooding. When our driver who was picking up finally made it to the restaurant, someone else had taken our order! Thankfully Picantes took care of us, remade the order, and had him quickly on his way. I ordered a Breakfast Quesadilla (pro tip - Picantes serves their breakfast all day) and the combo eggs, bacon, cheese in the quesadilla with salsa and sour cream was just right. I came for a breakfast burrito. It's cooked fresh, but nothing special. The tortilla is large, fresh, but not homemade. It's fine. What is nice about this place is all you can eat Menudo, which is DELICIOUS. There are better burritos, these are average. The Menudo is top shelf, and looking at several of the plates coming out, lots of their food looks great. I'll be back, and I hope that they start making their own tortillas soon. read more

My wife and I love this place. It is our go to for Tex Mex in town. The only thing I've ever had that was less than great was to go fajitas. Probably steamed in the container and overcooked before we got it home. Carnitas, barbacoa, al pastor are all delicious. The serving sizes are just enough to fill me up with being miserable. The staff and service has always been excellent. Food is prepared quickly and accurately. We are checked on regularly and our drinks refilled if needed. I will continue to come back. I loved that the tortilla was actually heated on the grill. Good ratio of meat and egg. $4.50 for one bacon, egg, and cheese burrito! We came for breakfast and sat down. Our waitress promptly greeted us and took our drink orders. The dining area is roomy but the booths are not large. The four of us fit just fine but there wasn't a lot of "elbow" room. We will probably ask for a table next time. We ordered the breakfast burritos and the Plato de Huevos. Our waitress was great in helping us decide what to order and she was prompt with coffee and drink refills. The food arrived in a timely manner and tasted very good. Listen, I LOVE THIS PLACE and the owner or manager is wonderful. But these past couple times I have gone have been terrible. I've ordered off of DoorDash and gone in person, when we ordered in person we did an over the phone order, I guess the worker didn't understand what my boyfriend was saying so she hung up the phone on him, twice. We were never rude and went inside and placed our order and everything was fine. On DoorDash tho our order was wrong twice. This time I ordered an extra guacamole (I don't mind the extra charge but they only randomly started charging for extra) and a smaller container than what normally comes was in the bag. Also smothered in tomatoes which has never happened and the rice (which normally isn't great made with frozen peas and carrots) was sooo so dry. Also there was a hair in my food!!! I didn't eat any of it. The time before my boyfriend's breakfast burrito was missing bacon and potatoes. The parking lot is VERY limited. But you can manage to get in and out. There's was no wait to be seated. We were a party of two and came for breakfast. I had a build it yourself burrito, and my girlfriend had the menudo. The burritos was a great size, and the menduo was great! You can walk in and seat yourself. It's not anything fancy, it's very casual and laid back. The food portions are a good size, and the price is one you can't argue with. The food it great and very flavorful. We went to this place on Sunday after church. We used to love this place. I ordered the carne guisada plate as I always had before. When the young waitresses who weren't very friendly, looked confused and would barely say a word, brought our orders, the plates did not look at all appealing as before. My carne guisada looked like dry pork meat. When I told them what I ordered, the waitresses began to argue and tell me that is exactly what I ordered. When the cook was called, he said the same, that it was carne guisada and that they have never, ever made their plate with gravy. That was a lie because that was my usual order. The picture on the menu, which had CG gravy looked nothing like my actual plate.. He kindly disagreed several times and said he would make me something else. I will not be going back.
