For this GLEAMER review, I visited the somewhat unassuming Raider Burrito, and let me just say I was very pleasantly surprised. I got a steak fajita plate which had a pretty generous serving of the main entreé, and the meat was wonderfully seasoned. I also had a chicken enchilada from my friend and it was absolutely stuffed with protein. The chips and salsa (which were free) were really good. The chips were thick, and gave the impression they were made with corn tortillas as a base, and the provided salsa was decently spicy. Service was decently impressive for the fact only two total people were working there at the time. Very polite server who was very on top of customers and cleanliness. Decoration was kind of plain and the lights were a bit dim, but that's not a real issue in any substantial way. Places like Raider Burrito are a genuine treat to stumble upon in Lubbock. It's a great small business that provides Authentic texmex at a great value with some fantastic service. I can't wait to go back there sometime soon. 14/15 read more

I've been coming here to eat every day for the last two or three years and nearly every day I go through the drive-through and I order five Asada tacos with cheese only And every day I pay $13 but tonight they try to charge me $15 for the same thing when I ask why he told me it's because the cheese is extra but I've been making the same order for years and I've always paid the same thing I would've definitely tipped him two dollars but instead he wanted to charge me two dollars extra I imagine because it was so late in the day Like I said, I've been coming here almost every day for two or three years. Don't listen to these other reviews. Their tacos are phenomenal if you're looking for real classic tacos. Not Tex mex, but real tacos. I love their Barbacoa tacos, so much so that I get at least 5 every time I go. My friend and I have even gone multiple times in a night! The service is always quick and polite, never had an issue for both seating and takeout. The restaurant has a nice patio to sit out at and nice ambiance inside. My girlfriend and I came here 45 minutes before close they stated only tacos available. We ordered the Barbacoa tacos and beef tacos. I had to ask three times for two sides of salsa Verde and clarify four times only meat and cheese extra cheese on the Barbacoa tacos. As we are watching them make the food. Only one cook had gloves on the other two were touching it with their bare hands. The salsa was on the ground, and they still served it When we got our food, the Barbacoa tacos were all watery with no extra cheese. The beef tacos had nothing but beef no sides of salsa birthday. There was a young lady working the drive-through that had the most terrible attitude. This poor service caused me to rethink the number of times I give this place my business. And it also prompted me to review my receipt. I paid over $12 for two burritos. When I really take inventory of the service and what I get for $12 it's not worth it. I went in to pick up my to go order inside cause the drive thru was backed up and looking at the dining area almost made me change my mind which I should have. Asked for sweet tea they said they only have unsweetened. My sister asked for big red, and they didn't have it. The music is way to loud. Not the most sanitary place, tables were sticky, and drink cups had drink residue all over them. The happy hour isn't very good either. The staff is really friendly and the location is pretty close to where I lived. I like that they have stone benches and tables to sit and eat. Their tacos are cheap and authentic so best of both worlds. Their salsa and pico de gallo are pretty good too. I usually get the carnitas and I like those a lot. My wife and I ordered 12 tacos of variety including tripas, the tripas were under cooked and were not cleaned prior to cooking. The tacos were all crammed in the same box along with the condiments and veggies all thrown on top of our food. They could have just as easily placed it in a separate container or in the bag itself.
