Where I am from: Street Taco = Tiny 3" ish Tortilla Taco = Reg Sized Tortilla and it folds in 1/2. Came here with 2 of my buddies after an early morning. This morning I woke up at 5:30 and I was "yearning" for some yummy yummy in my tummy! This place is a SMACKDOWN. Tacos are unstoppable. I hit the migas rancheros and some people might get confused about that because migas sounds like Migos (the rap group who is GOAT [r.I.p. takeoff he the real one]) but it is actually just an amazing taco. Best breakfast burritos I've ever had, but just be sure to put some salsa verde on them. Takes those 'ritos to a higher plane. And contrary to what some of the pigs on this site are saying, the burritos are plenty big. I'm a dude with a big appetite, and two regular-sized, three-ingredient burritos fills me right up. And, as others have correctly noted, the chips/salsa here are excellent. Thick and hearty tostadas, unlike the diaphanous kind they serve at Abuelo's. This modest restaurant is my nomination as the best Mexican restaurant in Lubbock. I am NOT a big fan of over decorated franchise restaurants with mediocre food. This is a clean nicely decorated Mexican restaurant serving very good genuine Mexican food without being too greasy. Simple. Their salsa has lots of good spices without being ridiculously hot. The only problem is that they are not open for dinner. I guess if they can run a great little restaurant and pick up the kids at school on time, good for them. read more

This is my chorizo egg and potato burrito from the I-27 location. So greasy! It soaked my tortilla, leaked onto the foil and soaked the bag. The tortilla also tasted like uncooked flour. We usually have great food from the original location on 34th but I will not be going back to the I-27 location. read more

Most pathetic burrito I ever got. Ordered 2 sausage egg potato and cheese burritos. Cost 17 dollars after 2 drinks. There was 2 little pieces of sausage, a quarter of an egg and a quarter of a small potato. I will never go back and encourage you to do the same. This place sucks!!!!!! read more

Service is very poor, the two employees we came in contact with were short and rude, and this was not the first day. Best chips and salsa in town!! Love this place! They are fast, they deliver to the hospital, and the burritos are yummy! My favorite is the Carne Guisado with potato and cheese. This place is pretty close to the area we live and I had heard nothing but good things about it so I was excited the first time I went. I may have had my expectations a little too high. We went through the drive through (we tried to go for brunch so the line wouldn't be so long) and I ordered a chorizo, egg, and bean burrito and my husband ordered a egg, bacon, sausage, and cheese burrito. We got great service and they brought us out our burritos pretty quickly! I definitely finished my burrito, but unfortunately the beans had a really scalded taste to them and the tortilla was pretty cold. My husband loved his though! Don't want to give up on this place, and after reading some other reviews I might have to try a few of their other things! read more

Hole in the wall defined. The best ground beef I've had a in a long time, not as cheap as some suggest in my opinion. Most burritos are 3 dollars and I don't think the value is that much better then Freebirds or Chipotle. Their breakfast burritos are ok. Not much flavor without the hot sauce. The reason I am not going back is because theirs burritos are very small compared to everyone else in town but they charge twice the price. Then add a mom cash adjustment for using a drake cars then then they put tip suggestions on their receipt it calculates it including the credit card fee. 1. Credit card fees are just a cost of doing business and if you have the right provider don't cost that much. 2. You don't try to trick people into paying a tip on a fee. read more

I try to give places at least two tries before I mark them off my list and I've now been to Burrito Tower 4 times because it's close to where I need to be in the morning. The service was prompt and friendly, but they have gotten 3 orders completely wrong. You have to check your order before you leave the parking lot. I have been to literally a dozen Mexican joints since moving to Lubbock and although this one is the smallest and most sketchy looking (from the outside- I think it's an old gas station), I believe it may be the most authentic and delicious. Finally a place where the person taking your order can barely speak English. But she is very friendly and cute. A lot of the "Mexican" restaurants around here are much more "Tex-mex," where your server is some college kid and the top selling item is the house margarita. Not this place. This is legit Mexican food made by Mexicans from Mexico. Love it. Cheap too. I had 3 different gorditas (carne asada and the pork were the best) -and that was way more food than I needed, with a coke for like $11. I will be back. read more
