Bummed with my experience today. I was excited to support another local business. I rarely visit Pittsburgh, but Mr. Jalepeno Food Truck was nearby and it's by husband's favorite burrito. Luckily I bought his two burritos there. It was ready in 10 minutes. At Blue Saigon , I ordered my food at 1:09pm. I didn't get my food until 1:50pm. I waited over 40 minutes for a burrito, garlic noodles with tilapia and lumpia. When I got home, I was shocked to see a hair in my garlic noodles. WTF!!! I didn't order hair on the side! I saw a lady walking in the restaurant with a baby girl sleeping in her arms. I wonder if her hair fell on my food. Beware OWNERS! I called and they refunded my garlic noodles. Next was the burrito, it was loosely wrapped. My burrito fell apart. I had to rewrap it... SHEESH! Lumpias were fine... but pricey for what you receive. I also ordered their flavored lemonade. WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. Lemon pepper wings were FIRE. 10/10. Garlic noodles were delish!!! The container looked small but it was so much food. I ate 2 wings and some noddles and was full. Will definitely feed me for two meals. The guys working were nice. Place is kinda small inside with only two tables. Don't let the outside fool you, this place is legit. Came out this way for a youth football game and looked for a spot to grab food with my family before heading back to the city. Found Blue Saigon and I'm so glad we did because the food was fire! We ordered the sisig burrito, fried fish burrito, lemon pepper wings over garlic noodles, lumpia, a chicken taco, butter garlic shrimp over loaded fried rice, and the steak and butter garlic shrimp over loaded fries, plus a couple of lemonades (KB 50/50, classic & kayla strawberry). First, I will say I really love Blue Saigon. It's a staple in the P, however they did me wrong. I don't know if it's because I ordered 30 minutes before they closed but either way, the service should not have been compromised due to that. The shell was off and the shrimp seemed to have been flash fried & overcooked. The rubbery coating and dry chew made for a bad bite. The sauce was sweeter than it was spicy. Everyone makes garlic noodles differently & these were ok. They were a bit to oily w/a weak garlic flavor. Garlic noodles should explode w/garlic flavor, imo. I'd still recommend them overall. Totally disappointed this time. We have been coming here since they first opened here in the "Burg". Since the opening of the Las Vegas location this place has been neglected. The planned expansion with this location has never come to fruition. The service has gotten pretty bad. The wait times are ridiculous. The food quality and quantity has gone way down. But, the prices have gone up to make it worse. I order the shaking beef fries and the fried shrimp, which was my go to. The fries have much much less food in them then they used to. The fried shrimp doesn't even have the dipping sauce they usually give you. Not to sure if I will be returning. May have to take another break from here. Check it out for yourself people. Oh boy. I had quite the experience at Blue Saigon tonight. And it was not a good one... I have been eyeing this place on Yelp - it has a ton of amazing reviews and delicious looking food. I was super excited to finally try it, so I made a 35-minute drive out to Pittsburg on a Friday night. Only to be extremely disappointed. Arrived at 6:30 PM (this is strictly a takeout only spot where you order and pick-up at the window). Placed an order for their famous garlic noodles with candy chicken wings. "We are out of wings." Wait, huh? Ok fine. Placed an order for their pork burrito. "We are out of fried rice for the burrito." An Asian-fusion spot out of rice? Really? "We are also out of pot stickers." *face palm* It was still early in the night - how could you be out of food? Do they plan their inventory knowing Friday is a popular takeout night?! I ended up ordering garlic noodles (without wings) and a burrito (with fries instead of fried rice). Given that this is a takeout spot I was expecting a 15-20 min wait at most. Thirty minutes pass and still no food. A lady comes out of the restaurant and calls my name to tell me, "Did you order the pork burrito?" "Yes." "We are out of pork for your burrito." LOL SERIOUSLY?! I tell her she can substitute the pork for sisig. Another 15-minutes pass and I finally get my food after 45-minutes since ordering. I wasn't the only one frustrated. The group of people waiting for their food was getting large. I felt bad for all the Door Dashers. I'm not sure if the wait here is always very long but on Friday night it was pretty ridiculous and something I would have avoided if I knew. To top it off, the food was... eh. Granted I didn't get to the try their popular wings, but the garlic noodles were average and the "custom" burrito they gave me was not what was advertised on the menu. I didn't know what it was (maybe because they ran out of ingredients). It was supposed to come with guac, cheese, sour cream, fried rice per their menu. The seating selection is limited in doors but there are some available seats, the overall ambiance was good. It's better to order ahead of time through the phone because if you don't, you'll find yourself waiting around for 25-30 mins. My wife and I ordered their garlic noodles with 5 pieces of candied wings, sweet and salty pulled pork burritos, lumpia, and Filipino sisig fries. All items were served freshly made and was packed full of flavor. We were shocked because the food was just cooked perfectly and was delicious all the way. The chicken had a nice glazed crisp to it, the burrito was almost like a banh-mi sandwich, the sisig was grilled nicely, etc. The prices are excellent with about $10 for each major item. I got this place recommended when I move here to Pittsburg 5 years ago, and I fall in love with the chicken sandwiches, but idk if there a new owner or new chefs but I see how they start changing, one you got it wait at least 20-25 min to get you order even if you just order a sandwich , the last to times I went there I find a gross hair on my sandwich, the first time I was like ok its a mistake, because I see the hair very easy I just put it on the side...but yesterday I went there and when I was eating my sandwich I got a weird feeling on my throat, I put a long long hair out of it....its the gross thing I ever feel,i went there to talk to the manager they was very rude saying they used head band and everything necessary to avoid that....and that's really sucks read more
