The rooms were comfortable, clean, and calming. They never skimped on time, and provided good wrap-up discussion with at-home suggestions. Recommended.

I first started seeing Francesca because of my chronic upper back pain and what was an actual hunch back due to me trying to desperately work the knots out on my own. My muscles were so tight they felt like bone... it was (k)not good. Getting the deep tissue massage with the cupping add-on with Francesca has been essential to my well being / self-care routine. She starts by asking you where you want her the focus on during the massage and has great table side manners. For who also suffer from the same pain - you gotta go regularly! The relief doesn't happen after one massage, it has to be a consistent practice! A nice benefit of the massage is that even though I'm not a member of the gym, I can use the sauna afterwards. The spa itself is extremely clean and quiet despite being next to the gym. Ultimately Francesca has been a god send. You know how the saying goes -- the best gifts come in small packages. Well this applies to Fran, who is small but mighty and can give a mean deep tissue massage. Also special shout out to Jared at the front desk. Whenever I've had scheduling or billing problems, he's consistently come to the rescue with great customer service and resolved any issues ease. I hope he always get green lights when he drives, the last sold out item on the shelf and a promotion.

Tui Na focuses on bones, blood flow and joints which is more of a chinese medical massage. It is not relaxing or comfortable. It has been a challenge finding a place to go to after Health Trail closed down. I've been to many others ever since and today I found Yuan Shi and they are what I've been searching for. I now have bad knees and back pains. I came in on a Sunday and got an hour of the Chinese full body Tui Na. Michael was my masseuse and little dude is strong. He was able to pinpoint all my pain areas and proceeded to roll, press, stretch and kneed it to death. The more squirming I did and wincing from pain, the harder he went. I wanted to stop showing my pain just so he would stop sometimes. But as the guy at Health Trail said, "No pain, No gain". The timer went off after and hour and he continued working my back for another 5 minutes. I really appreciated it, as he knew I was in need of this session. 1 hour was $50, and I tipped $20. He really earned every dollar. Im sore from the bruising but my back pains are relieved right now. I'm considering buying the certificate. 10 sessions for $500 upfront and comes with 3 free massages. This seems really worth it in my opinion. I'm definitely coming back again.

I have always gone to Moonlight, because I pass by them daily and they are good value. I recall…read morewhen I was told that they had a second spot nearby, Alley Spa, opening up. This afternoon I popped into Moonlight and inquired if they had any availability from 5 pm on. I was told they were fully booked. On a whim, I called Alley Spa, despite surmising that, as they are run by the same people, they too were included in the "fully booked" equation. Nope, I called at 5:30 pm and got a 6:15 appt. Alley Spa is adorable. My room had a mantle for my smaller belongings, with cute decorations, and it seemed so welcoming. The whole spa seemed more relaxed than Moonlight, and the woman working the desk opined that they were slow. I asked her why the woman at Moonlight didn't refer me to them, since it's the same owner? She seemed confused too. Next time I'll skip Moonlight and go to Alley Spa. It seemed less of an assembly line, and I appreciated the decorative touches.

The owner was surprisingly not there, but everyone deserves time off (hoping the didn't sell, however). My massage therapist was extremely rough and a bit messy. She banged into something and clearly got hurt. She insisted she was fine, however left the room and someone else continued massaging me without any explanation. I later realized this to be the front desk person! She continued to talk to whoever was now covering the desk for her. This was extremely loud and rude! Then she leaves and yet a third person comes to finish my massage. Again, no explanation or apologies! I always tip generous but gave so much less considering this bad experience. I was not pleasant at all on the way out. Hope they got the hint and that this doesn't happen again.

I've…read moregotten massages at several other places in the square mile, but none were ever quite this affordable. Moonlight is a no-frills establishment. They don't have you fill out a health questionnaire when you arrive. There's no choice of scented oils or aromatherapy in the room. It's not fancy or especially inviting inside. The sheets and blankets on the massage tables are worn. They move very fast to get you in and out. That being said, my $55 hour massage was great , much better than the $200 massage I got at SoJo last year. I was able to make an appointment for myself and my husband a day prior - it was a weekday, so I figured they'd have availability. I wasn't expecting them to have a room for couples, but when we arrived, they brought us right to a room with dual massage tables. We were a little early, so they got started with us early - very efficient. The hot stones felt great on my back. The reason I'm knocking them a star is the noise level. We heard a lot of background noise: the spa's phone ringing, employees talking and moving about. They did have relaxing music playing in the room, but it didn't completely tune out the noise outside the curtain. It didn't take away from my massage experience, though. My expectations for this establishment were met. If you just want to feel good without breaking the bank and are OK without all the pomp and circumstance, this is your place.
