Just loved this place! We tried to get in one other time when we were in town and got an insider tip from our bike tour host to try this one in Federal Hill as it's a bit less crowded. Waited about a half hour for a table. Had to try the famous Captain Crunch French Toast and it was all the rage; absolutely delicious on its own without syrup. The hubby and son both had the pina colada french toast and enjoyed that as well. Liked my latte and the friendly service. We sat outside in the spring sunshine and life was good. i came by on a sunday morning for brunch. it was a 15 minute wait, but they have a few picnic tables on the side for slightly bigger groups (5-6 people) everything was served in to-go boxes and plastic silverware. The portions were just as big and the food came out fresh! i do wish it was plated on the infamous blue plates, but that's the panemic's fault. the biscuits and gravy are simply amazing. arguably the best biscuits around - buttery and fluffy and huge! my favorite has always been the Huevos Rancheros with delicious chorizo. Word of advice: come here hungry. The portions are quite large. I came here based on Yelp reviews. I was going over the menu and asked the server for her suggestion. She suggested the Sweet Baby Jesus, which isn't the on menu. I had never had crab, but since I was in Baltimore - why not! More like, Sweet Baby Cheesus. This plate would be a great shareable option for the table given its size, price ($20+), and its heaviness. I came back a few days later and opted for the veggie scramble. Cute cafe in the middle of federal hill. I really had a tough time ranking this spot considering they were solidly between three and four stars. I think that if I do go back, I hope that they are able to rise to the occasion and make it a solid four star review. This is the second outpost of the original Blue Moon cafe. Admittedly we didn't try the two things that they are most known for, the pancakes and the Cap'n Crunch French toast. The veggie omelette was just OK, edible, but nothing special. Personally I thought the hashbrowns were a little too thick, the middle was not cooked so the potatoes just taste like uncooked hash brown batter. Not pictured is their homemade biscuit, that was probably the best made item we had, along with the strawberry jam that was very fresh! The Sinnimon roll was certainly fresh, however had so much sugar on it I had a hard time eating it. The sugar was completely overkill and I lost any sense of the bread underneath. I literally love this place. There are hundreds of good breakfast/brunch places in Baltimore but this one tops them all. You will never be disappointed with anything that you order, let's just get that out of the way. It's honest to goodness the best ever. Don't skimp on getting a biscuit or a sin roll because literally, you just have to. The food is what speaks for this restaurant solely and that is enough alone. I had the cap'n crunch toast which was a real creative invention. Think the fresh fruit is what made that plate. Blue Moon Too has some really good food. I wasn't shocked due to the fact I had gone to the original Blue Moon prior to coming here. I took my Mother & Father n law here along with my family. The wait was thirty minutes which I expected because this place has some good food. This place is so much bigger than the original Blue Moon, so I'll suggest coming to this location if you don't want to wait as long for a table. We got the Sweet Baby Jesus and Captain Crunch French Toast. I enjoyed everything and I even met the owner. She's so nice and I'm proud to say that she does a lot for Veterans overseas. I have been a long time Blue Moon Cafe regular; I come in every baseball season, and sometimes beyond from New York City, and always go to Blue Moon for breakfast. I am good for a solid half dozen or more visits a year. I have yet to try the second location in Fed Hill until recently, and I think it might be my new go-to. While I still love the ambiance and scenery of the original in Fells Point, the second location is much bigger, less cramped and more comfortable while still maintaining the same STELLAR food quality that Blue Moon customers have come to know and love. I think I will add the second location to my rotation, as I came to find it is just as enjoyable. The Tim Burton inspired artwork on the walls is really magnificent. read more
