Wow, after tragic food experiences around town, this was exactly what we needed to make our 2 day trip to the beach very special. The food was spot on for all courses, including the basil/lime/gin cocktail. The server was amazing to match the food and overall dining experience. Brunch: We had roasted pork belly, smoked salmon eggs benedict, bloody marys and 1 coffee and 1 cappuccino. All of the food was superb. The eggs benedict was based on a biscuit . The hollandaise was perfect. The poached eggs were served with roasted sausage and hashed potatoes. The pork belly was served with 1 poached egg, soba noodles and bok choy. As a beginning to the meal we were served a chocolate chip and cranberry scone. The texture and flavor were perfect. For dessert we were tempted by beautiful beignets, but resisted. read more

Best restaurant in Rehoboth Beach period. Everything was just exemplary. We brought my step father here for his 70th birthday and had a wonderful meal. After a round of perfectly mixed cocktails, we started with the Tuna Crudo with shaved truffles, very nicely seasoned and decadent with the shaved truffles. Roasted Oysters to die for and a rack of lamb that just melted in my mouth. Others had and raved about the Duck, the Short Rib and the Salmon. I was here this weekend with my mom and sister, and it was amazing. Our waitress was very friendly, and the food was delicious.Sister and I had the halibut, which was perfectly cooked and the addition of blueberry compote made it unique and interesting. Mom had the scallops, which were also perfectly cooked. We had the moon pie for dessert....WAY too much food but definitely worth it for the experience of having such a huge dessert come to your table (it was also very tasty). This restaurant is full of hype but the food is rather poor. An entree of halibut was dry and tasteless and was sent back in spite of the waitress's comment that "all the fish are like this". Starter of fried green tomatoes (3 thin slices for $14) was presented nicely but was also tasteless. The corker was the price of cappuccino- $8.00. No prices were listed for any beverages as the chef likes to play a game of "Gotcha". I suggest you explore other restaurants who are less pricey and provide better food. read more

Food is outstanding! Started meal with Carrot soup (just perfect). For entrees Scallops & Salmon (both outstanding). The corn that was part of the scallop dish was amazingly sweet. Restaurant interior is cute and trendy. Possibly a bit cramped at certain tables. The dessert buttermilk blueberry donuts is one of the best I have ever tasted. Enjoy with two or more people or get stuffed! Another excellent restaurant in Rehoboth. This town has so many 5-star establishments in walking distance. Wow, incredible place. Started off with Gorgonzola-stuffed dates wrapped in bacon. This was a gift from the kitchen which I thought was a nice touch. We had the mozzarella burrata for an appetizer, which had some really fresh mozzarella. The price of this dish might have been a little too high in my opinion, but it tasted great. The real star of my time at Blue Moon, however, was the duck dish that I got. The duck was up there with the best meat I've ever had. I mean, it could NOT have been better. The exact names of the sides that came with the duck are escaping me, but the flavors were absolutely unbelievable. I hope to be back next time I'm in the area! read more

This place is adorable. Its like going to meemaw's house for Sunday brunch. We went on a beautiful sunny day and even though we werent sat next to any of the windows, it was great to see how lovely the place was lit up with natural light when we walked in. We had a large party and were celebrating the end of a fabulous bachelorette weekend. Our server, Jackie, was efficient, friendly, and funny. Shes a gem. The food was tasty. No one complained about the food. It would be nice if there were more vegetarian/vegan options on their menu but our plant-based ladies made it work and enjoyed their meals. Jackie also had some support from a gentleman with a supremely deep voice that was heavenly. He was also efficient and friendly. We never wanted for anything... not water...not beverages...not even scones! The scones were a delicious tasty touch. The beignets, tho not as light and fluffy as NOLA, were also yummy. A piano started to play half way in. We couldnt see it but we could hear it. Im assuming its because we were such a large party that we were sat in a corner near the bathrooms. Went here a few months ago and it was wonderful. Got there a few min early for our reservation and they got a table ready for us anyway, service was great, food was wonderful. I have dinned in some great restaurants and this place was top notch. Got a Pear and Rosemary martini that was out of this world. We ordered so much food because everything sounded so wonderful and nothing disappointed. Look forward to going back this off season when Rehoboth is not so crazy. read more

After several years of loving the Blue Moon experience, my wife and I walked away on Tuesday evening a bit soured on the place. It is a lovely setting, maybe the best in Rehoboth. But the food (at least on that evening) was totally mediocre. My pasta with pork was so-so, my wife's fish dish was overcooked and forgettable. But the worst thing was we had such sloppy and poor service as to be noteworthy. And the restaurant had only six occupied tables at the time. On several occasions I had to ask the waiter for something. He didn't anticipate anything such as bringing replacement utensils to the table after the first course, didn't ask if we wished another glass of wine, didn't bother to come by to see if we would like a coffee refill, all at the same time he was being attentive to the patrons at a table that was within touch of our table. We both wondered if there has been turnover in the chef or if the waiter was new or just plain didn't give a hoot. In any event, after having dined at this restaurant about a dozen times, we feel we can take our appetites elsewhere. So you'll know, the Three-Star rating is generous because I think this restaurant is still capable of much, much better. Allen read more

Where we were sitting, they were the farthest thing from soundproof; and when the door to the bar opened (which it did every 60 seconds or so), a wave of noise blasted out. Very unpleasant. When I think about the perfect brunch, Blue Moon comes to mind, every time. The ambiance is perfect (ask to be seated in the patio area--for natural sunlight or near the fireplace). $5 bloody mary's will blow your mind, as will the sweet treat they always have and bring over as a surprise. Blueberry scones, cranberry orange muffins...both, the best I've ever had. Also, the coffee, service and entrees are out of this world. Unless the bar staff knows you as a regular and generous tipper, do not expect to receive bar service in any sense of order and with any courtesy. Beverage service may also come with a generous portion of attitude from bar staff. Skip the bar and go directly your meal. Although the restaurant prides itself on special requests, you are much better to stick to the menu for an enjoyable and delicious meal. Vegetarian meals are a special request, so if anybody in your party is vegetarian, the vegetarian may receive yesterday's leftover vegetables at an exquisite price tag, while the remainder of the party enjoys a great meal. If you have no special requests, meals can definitely be delicious. An establishment holding itself out at this level should have excellent customer service in every aspect of the operation and be able to comfortably and deliciously accommodate a party that includes a vegetarian, but Blue Moon does not meet this expectation. read more

Long overdue note to say if you are hosting a private dinner/party at home and want TOP NOTCH service - there is no alternative at the beach - they indeed have the LOCK DOWN! This is due to their excellent service from "stem to stern"!! From the planning with Meg Gardner of our menu (which included several special needs and wine pairing) - she patiently helped get us to a final presentation that KNOCKED OUR SOCKS OFF! The chef, Harkaitz Urrestarazu, is a very quiet unassuming chap but boy can he cook with the best of them! We are a family that travels internationally and have eaten every good meal in every city you can imagine - so the bar was...HIGH! And he did not disappoint!
