Sanitized food pickup area

It's normally four stars for me but this time was a bit flat. Blue Mango is kind of an interesting mash-up spot, leaning somewhere between Japanese and Korean. It's casual and easy to drop into if you're in the Coleman area. The standout for me is still the crab fried rice. It's flavorful and easily the best thing we had. The rainbow roll was good too, especially if you like sushi rolls that are both savory and sweet. The garlic noodles were underwhelming. They were thin vermicelli noodles all stuck together and mushy with some fresh garlic mixed in; very flat. Overall, it was a mixed bag, but if you go, stick with the crab fried rice and you'll probably leave happier.

I finally had a chance to try this restaurant. Loved the music that they were playing. I wanted to jump to my feet and dance. A friend and I had their sampler appetizer and ordered 1 side of rice. It was a perfect portion for 2. My favorite was the coconut prawns. The food tasted fresh and dipping sauces were tasty. My friend ordered a mango soda which was not too sweet and great flavor. Cute decor! Service was definitely below average. Definitely worth coming back. Happy to be able to get a discount on my bill by using my Passport credit card.

Tldr value and tasty Thai food I randomly found this place and decided to try it with my family. We were not super hungry so we just ordered two dishes: mango curry and pad thai. We were very pleasantly surprised by nothe the flavor and the portion size of the food. The pad thai was very flavorful and the sauce they used to try it was really good. Most other pad thai places I have been to tend to be on the sweeter side but this was very savory and well balanced. The mango curry tasted more average but the mango chunks were interesting. I wasn't really a fan but my family enjoyed it.

Blue Mango is located in the San Jose Market Center next to Trader Joe's. Parking is challenging in this ultra busy plaza. Interesting concept of Thai and Japanese Sushi. The inside is decorated like a Thai Restaurant, though, you can see the Sushi Bar and refrigerated display case for the assorted fish. They currently offer a BOGO for their Basil & Chili Stir-Fry: choice of protein (chicken) w/ bell pepper & onion. Choose your spice level 1-10 (3.5/5). They used chicken breast meat, in their flavorful sauce. Thai Ice Tea (4/5). Not too sweet, but creamy. Pretty standard. The service was nice and friendly.

IMHO Generally good food. I eat here often. I wanted to try new dishes this time. Loved the 6-piece Cha Cha wings! Didn't like the Peanut chicken salad. Chicken was horribly dry. Won't order again. Seaweed salad refreshing. Combo pad thai good.

Update from vegetarian reviewer: I visited the restaurant again after about 5 years yesterday and I definitely want to update my review. Happened to try a bunch of things yesterday in a big group and it was a good experience for the most part. 1. Veg papaya salad tasted refreshing, maybe 3.5/5. 2. Roti curry - curry was on the sweeter side but great, roti was oily and not crispy. I wouldn't recommend this dish here. 3. Dynamite- spicy and yum, a great try for vegetarians 4. The other deep fried sushi was not worth it, also too sweet. 5. Creme cheese wonton- crispy and simple, this was great. 6. Green curry - yum, it's a great order too 7. Drunken noodles was a good order too - spicy and appetizing. 8. Red curry- was good too There was one sever taking care for about 5-6 groups and she did a great job. The restaurant has few tables and chairs so it's not easy to find a place on a busy day. Loads of parking available in the lot where the restaurant is, even on a busy day.

Chicken Pad Thai

Absolutely delicious Pad Thai--honestly, it might be the best I've had in the area. Perfect balance of flavors, fresh ingredients, and cooked just right. Service was fast, friendly, and very attentive. Everyone was so kind and made the experience even better. I'll definitely be back!

Blue Mango Restaurant, so good!!!!

I got Yellow Curry, family got sushi. Best of both worlds, waitress was on point - where can you go where the staff has worked 14 years, Blue Mango!!! Crazy. I took a photo of the place, so clean, was able to get seated very quickly. I will definitely be coming back.

Fire wings
Cristina N.

I picked up an order for dinner. Pad Thai was good but the "fire wings" defined on the menu as "crispy chicken wings" were so so bad. Not cooked, not crispy at all and flavor such a disappointment. Couldn't eat it. They are very fast with putting the order together...maybe too fast. Prices are too high for what it is.

Blue Mango Fried Rice
Yuki K.

Maybe we got lucky with the food because both of the dishes we ordered were delicious. The "Blue Mango Fried Rice" with chicken and sweet garlic pork had perfectly fried rice with the grains being fluffy rather than oily and tasted fragrant too. The mango poke bowl had a good amount of tuna, salmon, mango, avocado, and cucumbers with dried seaweed as well as seaweed salad mixed with lettuce on top of rice. I have no idea what the light orange sauce covering everything was but I'm guessing it was the typical mayo + Sriracha + rice wine vinegar combo I see in recipes. Service was prompt and friendly. We were the only people there around 1 pm on a Saturday. The smell of incense is really strong but I like it. Some people might find it off-putting though. Hoping the restaurant will still be around in the future and we can visit again to try something else.

Panang Curry with veggies

Ordered from here through a delivery app recently. Had a Panang curry with veggies and Eggplant stir fry with tofu and veggies. The food tasted ok. Though felt the quantity was kind of less for almost $16 per dish.

I normally love the food here. At my last meal here I ordered the Pad Thai with crab. The crab was not fresh and had a terrible smell.

I've been coming to Santana Row ever since they opened and the same goes with Veggie Grill. I'm…read moresad because I no longer will be going here. The food and service were great, but the new automated parking system has made visiting Santana Row a total nightmare. Santana Row used to have plentiful, free, hassle-free parking; now, you run the risk of system glitches, like exit cameras failing to scan your car out and triggering erroneous billing warnings. The friction and hassle of dealing with property management's parking errors unfortunately means I won't be coming back. I hope the owners push Santana Row for customer parking validations to save their regulars from these automated headaches. It's a shame because I used to love coming here, but it's just too much of an expensive hassle. Food is already crazy expensive and then you add the total nightmare of dealing with their automated parking and then having to pay for it is just too much.

I don't visit often because Santana Row gets pretty busy and parking can be a challenge, but I really appreciate having a fully vegan comfort food option close by. I was excited to learn that they added shakes. I haven't tried them yet, but getting one is on my list. My favorite items are the Baja Taco, Steakhouse Burger, Buffalo Blitz and Caesar Crunch Wraps, and the carrot cake. This time I tried the new Bavarian Pub Burger. The patty was nicely seasoned and the fries were great, but the cheese sauce and horseradish aioli didn't really stand out. I ended up using my fry sauce to keep the burger from feeling dry since the pretzel bun is pretty thick. Don't get me wrong, there was sauce, but it was so thin, it ran out on my first bite. During another visit, I had the Pan Seared Salmon plate. The Oshi salmon is really great! The flakiness totally reminded me of my non-vegan days. I didn't love the sides, though; the herb roasted potatoes lacked seasoning and the broccoli was bland and didn't taste as fresh as I expected. I also ordered catering from here last Thanksgiving and was very underwhelmed. The Wellington was just not good, and while I usually enjoy their mac n cheese, the catering version was pretty dry and lacked that cheesy punch.

The spring rolls and the golden rolls appetizers are top notch--it would not be hard to convince me that the spring rolls contain something addictive because I cannot seem to get enough of them! Coworker's favorite appetizer is the wonton poppers, which are also great! I've tried several things on the menu and while my coworker and I have some favorites (the lemongrass beef must be tried, and the green curry and curry noodle soup are both also fantastic), we haven't had anything so far that we haven't liked. I did bring my husband for a meal on the weekend and he wasn't a fan of the fried buns for the char siu bbq with lotus buns and thought the char siu was too sweet, but he enjoyed the spring rolls so hopefully he'll give it another chance later. Vietnamese iced coffee here is also good, but it's not one of the places that brings the little drip filter out to the table etc. in case you're looking for that (my coworker was hoping for it when we first came). The decor is fairly typical of a place run by the Supreme Master Ching Hai group, and the menu has the same vibe if not the same items (my sandwich-loving husband was dismayed by the lack of banh mi), which is a bit of a change from when I had been here previously almost a decade ago. I think it's a change for the better. The location is clean and the wait staff are friendly to the point of sometimes being suspiciously chipper, but it's actually pretty endearing. They also have a little mini market by the door where a few vegan dry goods and instant coffees can be purchased, although I haven't tried getting anything there yet since we're usually on our way back to work. Merit is part of my regular lunch rotation, so I expect to be back many times! Maybe someday I will have tried everything on the menu, even!

Grilled Octopus was excellent as always, my favorite dishes here. Lamb Osso Bucco was served with orzo rice, peas, morels. Lamb was tender and well-seasoned. Tamarind Glazed Salmon served with kale and red quinoa. The salmon itself was good, but I don't think the quinoa was a good match with the dish. The flatbread was the most disliked item we had. It was a bit bland and too doughy. We enjoyed the Peyrassol Rosé (France 2025), which was not only nice to see but also nice to drink. Love the smooth texture and taste. Vanilla Crème Brûlée was enjoyable, the shortbread cookie was somewhat bland. Chocolate Date Cake was rich and quite sweet. Even we shared it among 3-4 people, we still couldn't finish it.
