In August 2023, I posted about the poor quality of Blue Haven Pools & Spas' workmanship. Our 356 square foot cool deck developed 13 cracks within 3 years of installation, with new cracks appearing every couple of months. Blue Haven refused to repair the cracks, so I went out for quotes and the cheapest one I received back was for $4900 for repairs. I originally posted a brief review on 6/3/22, while the work was not even really started. Here is a full review almost 10 months after completion. 1. The cool deck paint was fading everywhere within the first couple of months. I told the PM, showed him pics and he came out to look at it. He said he would have someone out to repaint it. To this day it is still not repainted. 2. They left rebar sticking up from two sides of the pool where the electrical protection was installed. The original PM informed me to just put some flower beds around it. After I had him removed from my project the second PM came out and cut them down as far as he could with a grinder, but there is still one that is a problem. 3. The city of Houston would not allow the 3' waterfall and retaining wall to be built, so we swapped it out for 3 pencil jets. The jets come on automatically and one has less pressure than the others and often does not clear the coping, which allows the water to hit it and run off away from the pool essentially draining it. I have come out on a few occasions to see the water lever drop below the skimmer. I notified the warranty dept in Blue Haven and I just got questions back instead of sending someone out. Still not addressed, but we just try to keep a very close eye on it. Shouldn't have to do that. I suspect when they changed out the water fall they did not recalculate the pressure or piping needed to run the 3 pencil jets and that is why one jet has much less pressure than the others. 4. The pump kept throwing the GFCI in the Hayward Panel. I asked for a repair guy to come look at it. They sent the electricians they installed it, and they showed up in the pouring rain. They replaced the breaker but weren't here for very long. I informed Blue Haven it is still happening and they told me the electricians said there is nothing wrong with the electrical and that I should have an electrician look at my breaker panel on the house. I refused and insisted they send someone. Instead, they sent the PM who informed me he had no knowledge of the pump operation or electricity. He took pics and was on the phone with someone. He finally agreed to send a Hayward repair tech. The tech found a loose wire in the pump and a jumper wire in the panel that shouldn't have been there. I'm glad I didn't pay an electrician to check out something that wasn't an issue. 5. They have you once you sign the contract. Their ruse is to get as much done, nothing more, in order to get the next installment payment from the bank if you finance it. The last part, clean up, is only worth a few thousand to them, but they have already been paid approximately 98% of the job so they are in no hurry to get it done or to do it right. Also, you signed an arbitration agreement that doesn't allow you to sue them directly. 6. The communication with the first PM was GOD AWFUL. He was arrogant, did not speak English well, and was just an awful PM. The second was much better with communication but will feed you a bunch of BS if you don't know anything about what he is talking about. It's only after you find the answers yourself through research or having something repaired by a third party that you realize he doesn't know much about what he is telling you. 7. The PebbleTech they used on the pool has several clumps in it because they didn't smooth it out. This causes people to hurt themselves either by stumping their toes or stepping down on it hard. 8. The builders of the pool were ALL contractors, and it seems Blue Haven doesn't have much control over their workmanship. My pool table was redone 3 or 4 times, and as I stated above all the other issues. 9. I live in Westbury, and the houses were built in the early 60's and have small yards compared to someone who is building a pool in a newer subdivision with larger yards. When the hole was dug the debris was taking up the majority of my yard. Not only was the dirt there, but nails, scrap wood, piping, water bottles, candy wrappers, cut tile, etc. I have two dogs that needed to go outside, but managing this mess was a true disaster. I would have GLADLY paid for several haul-offs to make my life easier and keep the disruption to a minimum. When they did the walk through they said it would look like a battle ground, but you cannot comprehend what that looks like until it happens. Due to the size of the yard, everything was literally piled up for 6 months. If my yard were larger it could have been put further out of the way allowing use of the yard during construction, but this wasn't the case. If you have a small yard I would recommend discussing multiple haul-offs. 10. They will tell you it takes about 3 months to build; however, you will never know until it happens. The schedule depends on the contractor's schedule. I had to leave my gate unlocked to allow them access to the backyard because they could or would not give me a time frame or dates. If you choose Blue Haven, prepare yourself for lack of communication, and a long wait. I can't dispute a beautiful pool in the end but you will be very, very frustrated throughout your process.** Don't choose Blue Haven!!! This is your warning! We are going on 10 months of trying to get our pool done. They lie, say they're coming, then never show up. There is zero communication! Our backyard has been torn up since October of 2020! They go through project managers like underwear. Left crew here with no supervision which led to plumbing errors and other issues! Just this week they said they were coming to do the decking, and never showed up or even called! This experience has been a nightmare! Save yourself heartache and tears! Choose someone else! Well, in case anyone is wondering, we are still waiting. For 3 days now, we've been waiting for our pool to be plastered and our water fall bowls to be installed. We've been told day after day that a crew should be coming, then they don't show up. They showed up one day with the plaster equipment, put caps on all of the pipes, laid around our backyard for an hour or so, then left without plastering. They said they'd be back today, but never showed up. Also, we are going on 11 months and are being told that our waterfall bowls aren't in! Wow... you've only had 11 months to get them. If you are thinking of building with Blue Haven the answer is YES! After being disappointed by several other builders and even starting the process only to stop before excavation... I called Blue Haven with the hope of saving the summer for my family. Not only did they save the day but did it despite horrible rainy days and other set backs. The process was not perfect but Jimmy made sure to always be there to answer questions and make any wrong right. He even took calls on weekends! I am confident that he and Phill will be there to make sure my family enjoys our beautiful pool for many years to come! I wouldn't recommend Blue Haven Pool, they can't seem to get anything right even when given multiple opportunities. Broke ground back on Nov 8, initial part of the project as far as the dig and gunnite seemed on schedule and no issues. It was when they started doing the plumbing for drainage and poured the Concrete for the decking when problems started. There was a 3 week wait for concrete after plumbing and rebar was laid because of the holidays and we had a few large rain storms right away. Plumbing and forms/rebar settled and sunk and was even crooked, I made construction manager aware by text several times that it all needed to be fixed before concrete was poured, especially the plumbing that went to the gutter downspouts. He assured me they would straighten everything out before pouring. Concrete day comes and workers are asleep in my neighbors driveway while waiting for concrete trucks lol I called construction manager to remind him that they should be using that time to straighten everything and he says he's on his way. Concrete trucks come and they proceed to pour concrete into crooked forms and over all the messed up plumbing. Even when I made the workers aware that everything needed to be fixed myself. It was like they didn't believe me or just didn't care, construction manager that said he was on his way never even showed up that day lol. They found out later how crooked some of the pads were when trying to line up other stuff and ended up having to break the concrete and redo it as best they could. But it's still not perfect. Dented all of my 6 months old gutter downspouts trying to forced them into the crooked plumbing that they had weeks to correct. It's been 2.5 months since "completion" and they still can't get the fire pit to work or the fence that they put back up straight. They have returned over 20 times alone for the firepit, they could finish the form without it cracking as soon as they left and it doesn't work still to this day. They installed all the gas lines and check valves backwards initially, but in the process of troubleshooting and trying to fix it, they've just done more and more damage to where the face plate knobs and buttons are scratched and bent. Fence has been redone 3-4 times I've lost count, and it seems they tear it down and put it right back exactly how it was, crooked and zigzagging all the way down the fence line.(it was a brand new fence when they started construction and tore it down) . The whole left side of my backyard floods because they completely disregarded a drainage line on the plans that was supposed to tie in to the gutter on that side, then they wanted ME to pay for them to run a new drainage line to the street when it was their screw up. Their free fix is to put a pop up drain just around the corner, so that side will still flood regardless, just not where I can see it. The build quality is trash, and their pride in their work is worse. Decking is already peeling in places and concrete cracked in a few spots. NOT EVEN 3 MONTHS INTO IT. I'm completely disappointed in the experience, it's like they expect you to just be happy because you're getting a pool and look passed the trash work, but I expect better quality from a $100,000+ pool.. read more

This company is the WORST company to do business with. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! They don't follow up, they left trash and beer cans in my yard after the pool was complete .I ended up picking the trash up myself. I had a leak in my pool I reported it they came out and told me that it wasn't leaking . I kept calling after this because I had to put water in the pool daily my water bill was over $300. They finally had someone to come out to find out where the leak was coming from nobody called me to follow up nor call just to give me an update about the path forward to fix my pool. Along with the leak my pool started to lift. All of this happened in less than 1 YEAR. I call the office to get information THE ONLY person that gave me information was the receptionist. Just an update on our REGRETFUL PURCHASE WITH BLUE HAVEN POOLS. Pool was finally "completed" the first wk of June. Since then... 1. We have a punch list of 8 items... not 1 has been completed. 2. We have a leak in the pool! Really, pool "completion" hasn't even hit the 2 month mark! Issue was brought up 1 week after fill up. Leak detection came out and found 2 pin leaks, they were told by BH just to putty them and not do anything additional. WHAT?! IF THERE'S TWO LEAKS... why would they not want to ck the entire system? Pool is still leaking, BH is doing everything they can to avoid having the leak detection company come out again. MEANWHILE, still having to top off the pool almost 1" per day. You think they're going to pay or compensate anything towards the water bill, YEAH RIGHT. That's 5.5 weeks of water leaking with no urgency to address situation. 3. We've had an issue with the lighting in the pool. Warranty ticket with Hayward held up until the PM (Project Manager) came by to assess the situation. He shows up week later... He can't get it to work so he says he is submitting the warranty ticket. We follow up a week later just to find out the ticket was never submitted. As of today, 7/28/21- Still no response from anyone with Hayward...getting in contact with Blue Haven themselves is a joke. ** Main issue... SCHEDULING AND COMMUNICATION. Idk how they get anything done w/ the way they're currently doing business. WHEN we can get in contact with them, PM says one thing... scheduler says another and always contradicts the PM. Since we started this process in October, we've gone through 2 PM's, 1 scheduler... company is just as bad to their own employees as they are to the customers! Kenneth Kamman: In the 2" pipe world there are fitting that are drain and there are pressure fitting. But both work with sch 40 pipes. Drain fitting can handle 3 to 5 PSI. Pressure fitting a lot more. They did not use primer and they used drain fitting in places where you should have used pressure. Yet they still claim they did nothing wrong and I have no reason to be upset. What a joke. It's fixed now no thanks to them. I would sue them but they just are not worth the time. How bad of a company do you think you have to be that a customer can't trust them to do it right and have to hire a plumber and we are glad we did because we would not have known how bad it was. Maybe I should thank them. If they would have repaired it they would have just told us another lie. read more

We were told it could take up to 14 weeks to build the pool but everything went so smoothly we had water in our pool within 7 weeks! The pool is absolutely gorgeous! I want to start by saying I am so glad I stuck to my gut and went with blue haven pools and spas in cypress and didn't listen to the negative couple of comments I read online. I figure the saying a happy customer is the quiet customer is so true on so many levels. For how many pools this company builds their happy customers should totally speak out. I for one... am speaking. I don't have a lack of nice things to say about this team. Let's start from the top. Bailey Woods was our sales rep and we actually followed him to this company because he is one of the morally amazing humans on this planet and when you meet him you feel it immediately. One outstanding young man and blue have is lucky to have such a talented and kind hearted guy on their team. He gave me what I wanted without even asking. He knows pools and he knows design and has made my backyard a bit of paradise and I will be forever grateful. The process was quick to get a quote and he walked me through the time line (which ended up being even faster) He helped me with all of the hoa and county permits and was with me every step of the way. Went flawlessly. They came and sprayed the design on the ground as soon as those were all approved. They dug in a day and then I met the rest of the team! Roberto our project manager was hands down the quickest, nicest, most knowledgeable part of the entire build. He kept everything in line and running (with help from the amazing scheduling team in the office whom I also adore) they made sure everyone was aligned and scheduled and never missed a beat! Thank you ladies you are so kind and quick and we most definitely couldn't have done it without you all. Not to mention the selecting of all the materials was fun and easy. I also highly recommend the wet edge plaster upgrade because it's beautiful (thank you!!!) Back to Roberto because if you build with blue haven you NEED him. He is hands down a gift to this building process. Every question was answered before asked. This man knows this process like the back of his hands. He promised me a pool from dig to done in 2 months and that is what I got and more. Communication is his specialty. He was always triple checking all the work and making sure all parts of the project were done right and preparing us for the next steps. I want to start off by saying I really HATE to give any Company a bad review. However, when I am told every week that they will be out next week for months, It gets to you. It has been 101 Days as of today that they came out, dug this hole, and have not been back since. I have been patient and understanding for too long now. I have a friend that has a pool being done with a different pool company and it is 95%. "She got Started on Dec. 2nd". This teaches me a valuable lesion not to go with a bigger company ever again. I really hope all this stress is going to be worth it. If Blue Haven reads this please change my mind, make this right and for future customers do not let them dig the pool until they have a Gunite slot. It will stress you the hell out. NO RESPONSE FROM THESE PEOPLE ABOUT PLASTER SINCE MAY 23. IT'S JUNE 8TH. THEY DON'T ANSWER! THEY TOOK 95% OF THE PAYMENT AND NOW GHOSTED US. I will keep everyone posted with a step-by-step process. I will constantly update it with each phase. I was extremely quick to sign the contract. I Had it signed within three days of meeting Bob. Bob is a nice guy who answers my calls at whatever time it is. Signed contract on 7/20/21. I was promised I would be in for summer 2022. I tried getting them to sign a paper stating this, but they wouldn't. I took a risk. Let's see what happens. They have plenty of time. It took a while for Blue Haven to submit the permits. Received full approval on 12/6/21 3/22/22-3/23/22 - Excavation 3/25 - 3/27/22 - Steel 3/28/22 - Flashed the pool since the ground was wet - cost $2600 3/30/22 - plumbing phase one 4/7/22 - All inspections passed. 4/20/22 - gunite On 4/29/22, scheduled plumbing phase two - failed to come. 5/4/22 Plumbing Failed to come. 5/5/22 Plumbing Complete . 5/9/22 didn't come due to weather last week Since there was rain for two days, they pushed me off a week. 5/16/22 electric rescheduled. 5/13/22, I received a call that electricity was being done on 5/13/22 (Thanks, Kathy) Electric bill costed me 14k; they said it would cost 5k. On 5/26/22, Plumber forgot to put the return pipes through the concrete pool. Now they need to drill through 3 feet to put the pipe. I hope this doesn't affect the quality of the pool. 5/26/22 Tracks for electric cover installed. 5/31/22, scheduled to drill holes to fix the return pipe. 5/31/22, drilling complete. 6/1/22, all inpsections passed. It's hard to imagine that you could construct a pool any better than Blue Haven did. Not only was the professionalism of their design and construction noteworthy, but they did what they promised and did it in a timely fashion. Wish there was an option for zero stars. This company has zero integrity in their work. They destroyed our driveway stating there was not enough access to yard, when they had 12 feet access. They indicated to us that this would be taken care of then said they were not responsible to replace driveway. $9k in concrete damages. They do not communicate. Ever. Person responsible for overseeing the building of our pool only showed up for checks. They forgot to install a fill line and now it has been gunited and tiled. They could not be slower if they tried and have no idea how they stay in business. This is not the first pool I have built so I have a reference point of how it should go. We are having to give a low rating not that we are not happy with the way our pool looks, but that Blue Haven cannot finish it!! We still need our heater installed that we are told has not arrived. We signed our pool contract in December and it was started the end of January. The heater is available in multiple places online, but unavailable for Blue Haven. We have a plumbing issue, where we cannot vacuum our pool or use the spa correctly. There is plaster blocking a jet and that requires the plaster contractor to come and clean out! The PM is quick to give us his expectations on when and how to contact him very different type of customer service. We have gone to the office in person and still we have a pool not completed. The so called "Pool School" was nonexistent due to so many issues that are not completed or needing corrected. It is really so very frustrating when you have invested so much money! Just be very aware. Pool looks great, just can't get any satisfaction to get it completed. Communication is awful!! read more

Blue Haven did a really great job on building our custom pool. The whole project went fairly smoothly and the few issues we had (as expected on any large project like this) were handled and fixed well. Jacob was assigned by Blue Haven as our Project Manager. We would give him 10 Stars if we could! He was super responsive, extremely professional, and held our hands throughout the process (as we were first time pool owners). He answered all our questions, kept us informed, walked us through "pool school" to teach us about our pool system. Blue Haven?! NO! RED HELL! Please read out this review and if you are also a victim of this deceptive, incompetent, unfair and uncaring business, please contact me to join forces in a Class Action Lawsuit against these charlatans and bring justice to all their victims. My electronic mail address is narimanfathi at gmail. Signed a contract on Feb 11, 2021, and today is Jan 14, 2022 and my pool is not finished yet! They deceived me into believing they intended to move forward with my pool immediately (the rep told me at in-house design session in February last year that I would be swimming in May!). But they had no intention of moving forward promptly as they intentionally delayed even applying for permits for 5 weeks. Their contract is deceptive, it says end date is 45 days after the digging starts and digging should start within 5 business days after all permits are acquired (which they did not honor in my case, in fact they did not dig my pool until THREE MONTHS after all permits were obtained!), but it does not tell you that they would set aside your contract for weeks as they please and take care of a ton of other pools they have sold before you! They are extremely incompetent. I have two documented evidence of this: 1. Their designer misinterpreted my easement by about 2 feet on the smallest side of my pool where I needed to use all my easement. This caused significant additional delays in my project. 2. When the decking inspection of my pool failed, they did not know why! Although I had talked to the inspector personally and he explained the reasons to me and said he would write the same in the case folder for them to see. Their decking crew came knocking on my door TWO WEEKS after the inspection failed, asking if I knew what was wrong with it! Their contract is extremely unfair, and they believe it gives them excuse to run over honest customers! You know this by heart if you have fallen into their trap as I did. If not, please read the 3rd clause on the back of the contract carefully before signing it! It calls for push back of the project end date for 5 DAYS for every bad weather day for first 6 days and 3 DAYS of extension after the 6th day! Based on this clause, believe it or not, they are falsely claiming that even after more than 11 months, they have not breached my contract! read more

we thought we were building our dream pool from Blue Haven but it was a horrible experience. It started out great, with lots of promises but devolved quickly as soon as we signed the contract. Because we were in the country and no permits were needed, we got pushed to the backburner and the worked on us when they got around to it. Usually this was without notice, even though they knew we needed to put the dogs up. They actually showed up numerous times late in the evening and on Sundays without warning. The finished product finally looked great, but it was after many battles. Soon, though, we found out it was substandard work because things started breaking. They would not come fix the issues- Hayward came to fix the lights and said the wiring was not done correctly, which voided the guarantee on their product, but they saw that the pool was new and said they had a history of issues with Blue Haven. Just a couple of other issues included a skimmer installed incorrectly, the wrong pipes for the pressure, and not the light system that we were told we would get. The last time we called about a pump that was still under warrantee, they did call back but it was took so long for a reply that my husband had fixed the issue because we couldn't go that long without a functioning pump. read more

Building a pool is not a simple clean project. There's lots of moving parts and lots of people involved in planning designing and finally the construction of the pool. BHP and their people were good at communicating and fixing minor issues and coming up w solutions to encountered problems. But we all got over the speed bumps and the final product has been ideal for our family. After we started swimming and enjoying the pool Jacob Hernandez(PM) was great at working out small bugs that we encountered and even made a special trip to help me clean all the filters my first time. Overall we are happy w the process and the people that helped us get it done; after city permits and HOA crap was approved it took approximately 11 weeks....rain/contractor issues to finish up. Maybe it could've been done faster but people are people and BHP prices are good and not to mention they are not a fly by night pool contractor. They are serious about what they do and will assure their customer satisfaction. read more

A rating of 0 was not an option for stars! We began the project in June 2020 and the project wasn't finished until March 2021 (10 months) on what should have been a 2 month project. From the beginning, we were delayed a month because the salesman (Matt Stangel) lost our contract and turned it in late. Alone from the no progress being made on the project, there was never a phone call or follow up from Blue Haven Pools & Spa informing us what the delay was or what a new schedule would consist of. Essentially, I was my own Project Manager throughout the duration of the build. The next Project Manager didn't show up until they were approximately 95% done and he only showed up to collect additional funds for an upgrade that was elected. As they proceeded with the gunite the headache and nightmare really began. As the contractors mixed and poured gunite they splattered cement all over our neighbor's Porsche. To make matters worse, on the following day (the day before Christmas Eve), the cement company returned to my residence with a bill for nearly $8,000 stating Blue Haven's credit card declined and I was responsible for the bill. After contacting the General Manager Ryan Ripley while I was at work, he confirmed he was aware their card declined and also made it known he informed the cement company that the card would decline and they had to wait 24 hours before processing the transaction (bad business practice all around). After being threatened to have a lien placed on my home, I contacted my lawyer to address the issue. The in-line chlorinator. As the salesman (Matt Stengel) sold us the pool, he insisted that we get the in-line chlorinator to keep the kids from playing or messing with the as they swam. We took Matt up on his advice and elected the in-line chlorinator along with the additional expense (not costly at all) only for it not to be installed. Not only was it not installed, but to make matters worse, General Manage Ryan Ripley refused to have it installed. When we emailed to inquire why it wasn't installed Ryan Ripley responded by telling us the in-line chlorinators were causing a number of warranty issues and creating several additional repairs for the company. In the same email Ryan Ripley stated the only way they would install the in-line chlorinator would require me to sign a waiver. I inquired with a friend that referred us and they informed us they had no problems for the past 2 years. More so, I check with other Blue Haven offices and was informed that they were not having issues with installing or maintaining the warranty on the in-line chlorinators. To this date, not installed; no reimbursement of funds. The same friend I inquired about the in-line chlorinator discovered they were shorted, or lack of a better term, cheated out of the smart LED lighting system. As I inspected our equipment while asking about the in-line chlorinator, she found out that Blue Haven didn't install the same smart LED lighting system we had, they paid for in their original contact. When she called and asked about it, they told her the system she was referencing was an older and outdated system (mind you we were in the process of it being built). The decking company. They showed up at the last minute and rushed through the job racing against the rain. They faced several challenges as rain and faulty equipment played a factor. The equipment they used to spray the deck shorted out due to them using it in the rain on a previous project. The faulty equipment shorted out all of the outdoor sockets and a back-up generator. After blowing several sockets, the decking company finally stated they believe it was their machine because it had gotten wet when they utilized it in the rain on another job. I will admit, I didn't even bother with Blue Haven to get the outdoor sockets repaired (it wasn't worth the headache). They decking company attempted to finish the deck by rolling the paint on manually. It wasn't until three (3) days later when the new Project Manager (Eric) came to complete "Pool School" he saw that the deck was faded and had several spots where they missed all throughout the deck. The project itself was a nightmare, but the end result is a pool that the kids enjoy. The contractors did great work when they were actually scheduled and showed up. Blue Haven Pools & Spa just got greedy and took on more jobs than they could handle. Unfortunately, in good faith, I could NEVER recommend Blue Haven Pools & Spa to anyone. The end result was good, but the process was not worth the trouble or headache. read more

Do not contract this company it is unprofessional and disrespectful. My pool has been leaking for the third time my travertine keeps sinking they never finished setting up the heating system, they literally don't answer my emails and or get back with me. With construction projects, you will always run into issues - that is to be expected. On that end, we give them 4 stars for our 55K project. But 2 years in, we give them 3 stars because of the several issues we did encounter, which ended up costing close to 60K with the needed fixes that followed, and the declining follow up support. We had two different project managers. The first one was really good, clearly doing his best, and we had confidence in him. The second one was OK. The work by the workers of the different companies itself was 4 stars. The follow up support has been in decline from 4 stars, to 3 stars, to 2 stars. The Sale process: We were sold coping that ended up being a very bad solution, it constantly shed debris into the pool, and within a year and a half, was cracking and falling apart. We had to replace all of it, and spent $2400 to do so (we had more info by then, and picked something a little better, and it was worth it, but the money spent on the original coping was a loss). We had asked about ozone pools, told by the sales person that was not an option. A year later, when asking about dealing with the salt build up on the tile, we were mentioned the option of ozone pools - yep. We have had issues with breakers, and also with the pool light coming loose. We have tile now beginning to come off on one corner of the hot tub. At first, they were very responsive, but with the expiration of warranties (so many seem to expire only after a year), the responsiveness has declined. In the latest instance, after the breaker for heater malfunctioning again, we have spent nearly two weeks trying to get someone to check it, with no success. We have called, sent emails like they asked, called again, and still waiting. We spent money on a heater precisely so we could use the pool and hot tub all year round. When you consider the cost of our pool, spread out say, over ten years, that comes to $500 a month we spent to have this. Two weeks of lack of access is a loss of $250 in value, not to mention the cost we are told we will have to pay for the service call (if we ever get it ($150), plus whatever else they charge to fix or replace. They can be helpful at times, the pool is still great, but overall, their support is inconsistent, and for having spent that kind of money, we would have expected a more reliable support for their product. read more

I just wanted to acknowledge these guys build great pools. They built mine 10 years ago and it still looks great. Some tile is falling off, but I will get that fixed. There have been no leaks or cracks, built exactly as I asked, on time and very inexpensive compared to other pool contractors. Keep up the good work. read more

the process took a lot longer than initially told, we signed up the first week of April, and did not get the all clear to swim until mid to late June. (originally was told 6 weeks, but understand some delays possible for weather etc.) David, the lead contractor is an amazing man. he has followed through with everything he told us that was within his control and did his best to get the job done as quickly as possible. some of the issues were not related to him, but rather lack of communication from sales staff. David is very knowledgeable about pool construction and operation and was able to explain to my wife and i how to operate and maintain the pool. (he is also bi lingual, so for my wife he was able to explain to her in her native language so she understood better). we have thoroughly enjoyed the pool since completion, but as a word of caution, be aware that your utility bills will spike a significant amount for a couple of months between filling the pool and having to run the pumps etc. 24/7 for a couple of weeks. the water bill for us here in katy was $ 290.00 for a typical 95.00 and the electric bill went from around 175 average to 350+. once we are in a routine, and i can get some numbers i will update what the additional utility cost will be going forward. also, if you have a sprinkler system and the construction disables the system, it will be left to you to repair/replace as well as the costs/effort to move any cable and or telephone lines in your yard. also, the chlorine and other chemicals are easy to find, but the quality/price varies quite a bit. just shop around and do your homework and it will be easier to find and keep stock of the supplies needed. jeff brown read more

We had a very unfortunate series of events and were lied to and sold on false information. From the start we were dealing with a very pushy sales person (Matt Stengel) whose only focus was to sell even if that meant lying. At our first meeting with Matt, we mentioned that Premier Pools and Spas was offering us a special with heater, water feature, bubblers, several umbrella ports, in-floor cleaner, robot vac, variable pump for energy efficiency, dark pebble interior, app controlled convenience; every bell and whistle we wanted including a custom design. Matt promised all of this and more for the same price. At the design center Matt kept inserting his opinion but we just blocked him out. When it came to choosing our pool interior, Matt kept trying to convince us we wanted plaster and our contractor could simply "dye" it to make it dark. We insisted our vision was a dark pebble pool interior to fit a more modern look. He offered us three color samples, but none were the dark color we wanted. Matt said if we chose one of the pebbles they offered, the contractor could also just "dye" it darker and we could accomplish the color we wanted. We said no, we wanted a dark pebble, it's the reason we were paying an additional $2k. Matt said he could guarantee us a dark pebble, he just didn't have a sample on hand but to fill in the blue pebble they offered just to have something since this couldn't be left blank on the form. We trusted him and his advice so we agreed to temporarily put the blue pebble, but made him fully aware it was not the color we wanted. In the days to follow, construction started and during the plumbing stage, I asked my husband if the in-floor cleaner would be installed later or if it was already installed since it didn't look like that of what I had researched online. Again, we trusted in Matt that everything was going according to plan and we were getting everything we wanted and talked about. My husband constantly texted with Matt and asked him several times about the sample for the darker pebble interior, to which Matt replied he was trying to get us samples and will come to our house later that week with them. We agreed and waited. When Matt never showed we texted him again and he told us the $2k upgrade was for the pebble they offered in the colors they had. He said if we wanted a darker color it would be an additional $2.2k which made no sense to us. We tried calling him to no avail so we texted back asking why, if we had already paid $2k; $4.2k for an interior color is absurd. Days later he sent a text with the three pebble colors we had already seen in the design center along with a picture of a pool with the blue color interior to show what it would look like filled. We replied that it's not what we wanted and again questioned how we could get the color we initially agreed on at our first visit and at the design center, to which he didn't reply. The day came when it was finally time to install the pool interior. My husband and I noticed what was being installed was not what we wanted. We immediately contacted our contractor and told him this wasn't what we wanted nor what we decided with Matt. We asked him for guidance and he suggested we call the design center. We did and they told us they didn't offer anything darker. The only colors they offered for the pebble were the ones we saw in the design center. They were just as confused as we were as to why Matt guaranteed us something he couldn't make happen because it wasn't possible. We let them proceed with the color with the understanding that it was the only thing not as we had discussed with Matt. When our pool was finally complete we discovered from our contractor that we did not have an in-floor cleaner, no robot vac, only one umbrella port, and we would not be able to control the pool or any features with our phone and we also didn't get a variable pump. We are currently in the waiting stage with the pool company to see how they will rectify any or all of these issues. In hindsight we should've gone with Premier. We paid $50k for a lie. read more
