Went to Blue Drum tonight for the first time! It was fantastic. We tried a few different appetizers and entrees. Everything was spectacular. The service was wonderful. Josh was our waiter and was so attentive. The food was delicious and served hot and fresh. I would give this restaurant ten stars if I could. We will be going back soon and often. read more

Terrible food. Bad drinks. Only still around because it has a nice view of water. Avoid this place. Also way over priced.

First time I've visited. It's tucked away near the waterway. Clean and inviting. Only open three months. I had the Gumbo, fried green tomatoes and the bourbon burger. Every thing was excellent. Looking forward to the Fall to enjoy the outdoors seating. read more

Super fresh seafood; great atmosphere, and the updated building was so nice! Great intra-coastal waterway views too!! read more

They say allow dogs but they don't unless it's service dog. If you don't allow dogs then don't put on yelp dogs allowed. If it's service dog obviously they're allowed. Tons of places in area actually do allow dogs (seabrisas, captain Archie's, patio tiki bar, local on the water, coopers, and lot more). Dont recommend read more

Our first time dining at Blue Drum did not disappoint! We enjoyed a leisurely boat ride a short ride up from Myrtle Beach and did not have reservations. We were seated quickly for lunch and there was plenty of seating. Our server, River, was outstanding! He was very engaging and knowledgeable, helping us make choices since most of us had not dined here before. We enjoyed the lobster bites and bacon hangers as an appetizer. The bacon hangers alone are a conversation starter with a fun presentation! The fish tacos with Mahi were amazing. The tuna nachos and tuna poke bowl were excellent! The tuna nachos are enough to feed our entire party of 6. The pineapple slow paired with some of the entrees was really tasty and a nice twist from typical slaw. Even the fries were yummy! We learned about some of the specials offered throughout the week and know we will be back! When we left, the happy hour crowd was just getting started with live music, so I imagine a very fun vibe continues into the evening! read more

Blue Drum - Bacon Hangers App - Seafood Near Me - Little River, South Carolina

See all

Server, don't know her name, she never said, chewing gum while she talked. Happy hour drink, 95% juice.

I was talked in to giving Blue Drum another try, sorry I did. The food was so greasy and flavorless. Great view, lousy food.

This place is the best kept secret in The Grand Strand area. Our server was a plethora of information about this new place. They had a lot of great choices for the non seafood folks like me. I got the Bourbon BBQ Bacon Burger it was a step above most burgers. Cooked to perfection and a side of pineapple cole slaw and sweet potato fries. Outside seating on the waterway was perfect. Watching the boats go out to sea, seeing the beautiful yachts. We will be back. read more

Worst staff I've ever come across anywhere just terrible serve. Food is midore at best and we'll over priced only positive is the veiw haha not saying much about that read more

Great food, service is good and friendly. Enclosed outdoor seating duting the cold months is really nice.

We just experienced a gastronomic treat for Valentine's Day. The special menu offered delicious choices for appetizers, entrees, and desserts. I had the best tasting filet of any of the area restaurants; surprisingly for a seafood restaurant. I'm already planning another visit just so that I can experience their seafood options. Presentation was perfect, portions were generous, and service was top notch. I highly recommend Blue Drum. read more

We had a small group of 6 for dinner on Friday 2/7/2025. We ordered our drinks and appetizers first. Everything came out fairly quickly. We ordered the crab dip, the blue crab balls and the lobster bites. The food was tasty and everyone seemed happy with their choice. The server came back after we finished and took our meal orders. From the time we placed our order to the time we received our food it was approximately 45 mins. Two of the orders were for the filet tips and those that ordered it stated that the food was tasty, however, the portion size was very small for the price. Two of the orders were the Kingsport Tacos. One came out with the bulk of the orders and one was an additional 5 mins after the other orders. This was the second time that we came to this establishment. The first time we had a similar situation with the slow service and had hoped that It was an isolated situation. Unfortunately, with this experience this past Friday we will not be coming back. read more

The lobster bites were really good, but otherwise no one at our table had a meal they would order again. We had the filet, Cajun trio pasta, shrimp linguine, and seafood platter. Probably would be better to visit for happy hour drinks and apps, rather than dinner. Most meals were under seasoned unfortunately. read more

Our first and last visit to Blue Drum, after waiting for 45 minutes for a table our server finally graced us with her presence. I had to wait 5 minutes after the other 5 people in the party had their drinks before I had the opportunity to ask if my beer would be delivered, the bar was a whole 6 steps away. After 1 and a half hours our food began to slowly arrive. Service was terrible and the food wasn't any better. My wife's was so bad she threw up before leaving. read more

What an awesome restaurant right here in Lirrle River SC. On the water with plenty of dock space, Nice clean place inside and out. Live music most nights and sitting right on top of the ICW! Doesn't get any better than this... We have been here 3 times and the service is always top notch and the food is amazing. Portions are really big for the money and always has come out great! Reading some of these reviews, I am surprised... I live 1/2 mile away at most... and all our friends have been. I haven't heard of any complaints and nothing like some of the negative stuff I saw on here. read more

The food was exceptional. I had the Grouper Oscar. The flavors were excellent The views are on the ICU and the restaurant was very clean Our waiter, Steve was very attentive read more

Very nice looking establishment. We got there and were told that service animals were not allowed inside, we explained about my wife's dog and they said the owner prohibits all service animals from being inside. We tried to explain the laws to them but they would not listen. Unfortunately I will never know how there food is. But coopers and Crab Catchers is service animal friendly. I have sent the owner a private email as well so we will see if this gets resolved. read more

hostess had an attitude and was lost with reservations bartender surly and watered drinks no draft beer- only bottles and had to ask for a glass read more

Great food, great service and wonderful atmosphere. Had the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl and it was a lot of food and good. The rice was hard and not cooked I've never had that before, but other than that it was amazing! read more

Second and last time! Service incredibly bad. Food mediocre at best. Had blacked grouper - it came out fried. Food barely warm. Side for husbands meal came out after he had finished meal. Waiter was beyond awful. We are locals who won't be back. read more

The bar keep added an extra drink to our tab. When brought to her attention, she took it off the bill (after much to do) and never apologized. Acted annoyed that I was even asking for it to be rectified. Speculatively I would say she meant to overcharge thinking it was going to go unnoticed. I didn't leave a tip because of the poor service, and then found out she charged for a tip. That is fraud. I will never go back. Can't be trusted with my money. read more

The grouper Oscar was my favorite. A generous portion of fish with lump crab topping. Josh's service was top notch. Can't beat the waterfront view on the intercostal waterway read more

Saturday brunch after garage shopping, best Bloody Mary, food was awesome, sitting on the intercostal watching the boats go by, also had a great waitress Hailey!! Who could ask for anything more!! read more

Another great location... but not impressed with my first meal... I ordered pill & shrimp, gumbo for my appetizer, and for my entrée the lobster melt. All the food came at once and dumped on me no service. The peel and eat shrimp smelled rotten and were slimy and got Lobster Mac instead of a Lobster Melt. Rating out of 10 it makes a 4 in my book only due to the location. read more

Three visits and we've only eaten there once.. need a front of house management staff. The kids are trying their best, but it's so frustrating to wait over an hour. Even with reservations you can wait 40 minutes. Staff needs more training on basics of good service.. keep trying to improve we don't want Blue Drum to get the same rep as Local on the water read more

The food was horrible. Every thing there was overloaded with salt and very bad. The burger had no flavor, the crab cakes had little to none crab meat and we had to dissect them to find any meat, and the only way I can describe the mash potatoes is overwhelming bad and salty. I can not, in good conscience, tell you to waste your money there. read more

Not awesome tonight. Special wasn't that special. Service was worse. I like this place but like most local spots inconsistency has shown up.

Order the grouper plate. The food tastes good but I got food poisoning from eating it. I was sick as a dog all night. Will not return.

Great food and a really good experience. The vibe was very welcoming. Courtney was very quick with our drinks. Even got me to try something new. I will be coming back. Great service! read more

This establishment is new from my understanding. I ordered a bowl of clam chowder and a lobster grilled cheese. Both were phenomenal. The server was friendly and it did appear they had no cocktail menu but worked with us and the bar to make a drink. Overall very satisfied with the whole visit. Did seem to still be working out some kinks in the front of house. Will definitely be back! read more

on vacation in MB - went back to Blue Drum. great view and excellent live entertainer. service was horrible and food was meh. two poke bowls: very large portion but mango was soft and gooey (from a can?) and tuna was ok. two sandwiches, mahi and grouper, neither was anything to write home about. our server just wasn't good. read more

Good food and a great view of the Inland Waterway! You can eat down on the waterway or on the deck or inside! Good service too!

Food and atmosphere is fantastic. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Definitely a hidden gem right on the water way! Can't beat it! read more

We read past reviews before coming here and we just don't understand the negative reviews. My wife and I came on a Sunday afternoon and sat outside. We were greeted immediately and had 2 waters and menus within a minute. Right on the ICW with great views. Our server, Autumn, was professional, knowledgable of the menu, friendly and one of the best servers we have had in the past few years. Food was hot and was fast to arrive. We will be back! read more

Just had a terrible dinner dried out,0ver cooked and way to salty. I had to send mine back my husband boxed his up but didn't eat his either he threw his out when we got home. There's no need to return pricey with no quality. read more

Made reservations and still weren't seated for 45 minutes. Despite reservations they also couldn't sit us together, had they told us that when making reservations we would have chosen elsewhere. The workers at check-in seemed less than thrilled to help anyone. After 45 minutes they gave our table away and we chose to leave. Manager made absolutely NO attempt to rectify situation or even pretend to care. read more

This is a beautiful restaurant. The service is good. The food is good. However, the timing of food and drinks stink! We received our drinks one at a time...like 3-4 minutes in between 3 drinks . The crab dip app came out quickly but the soup came out with our entree. The hamburger was thin and dry. The seafood ravioli was slightly undercooked. The filet mignon was not seared. The sides were fine: lobster Mac n'cheese, fries and garlic mashed potato's. The desserts were also good: strawberry cheesecake and turtle cheesecake. The coffee was weak. We were disappointed with the overall meal. The location is weird but the view of the water is nice. I hope the staff and kitchen improve, we need another great restaurant in LR. read more

Awesome choices from wings with my fav thai chili sauce to grouper Oscar which is so delicious to the melt away tenderloin. Had perfectly seared scallops and steamed peel and eat shrimp with old bay last night. Great service and waterfront dining is another plus. read more

Service was good. Food is overpriced for what they advertise and what you get. If they list a lobster item and charge lobster prices you expect to get real lobster. 'Nough said. read more
