We purchased our first Travel Trailer (2016 Keystone Cougar Xlite) from Colerain RV earlier this year and have to say the sales staff was attentive and didn't feel high pressure or like they were pushing us to high end models like Ken G. had, so maybe they have listened to his feedback. we also got good answers to things like how much our truck could pull that we got very wrong answers from their competitors. But what really made Colerain RV stand out was their ability to deal with issues and their service department. In my book it is what do they do after the sale that is important. So to start, after the purchase on delivery day we got a panicked call that morning because the lot guy had accidently put his hitch through the front shell of the camper and they could not be more apologetic. So we went in and they offered us several option including: -Take the trailer today as they patched it to make it serviceable to use that weekend -They had the same trailer at one of their other locations and they would hurry up get it and prep it in a hurry... but still several days out -Or they would cancel the sale Basically they gave us every option I could think of that could make us happy and were very concerned about our needs. Also Mike, the manager of the whole service department was the one who worked with us to resolve the issue, the manager of the body shop came out to tell us how long it would take to properly fix and suggested it would be a superior RV after after as the cap would now be painted and not gel coated so it wouldn't have the same fading issues. We ended up taking the trailer that day as we really wanted to use it and we liked the ideas of the painted cap. Then to further help they also gave us a gift certificate for the store which certainly helped us first time RVers! So a few weeks later we dropped it off and they fixed it in the time frame promised and I have to saw it looked better then new. Awesome job by the body shop. So a few months down the road we have been having a great time with the camper with no issues, all fun! Then we ran into an issue where the black tank was not draining... damn! So we called Colerain to see about getting our camper in and they had a three week backlog... not surprising at the end of the season, but we really wanted to go out again quickly, so we reached out to Mike the manager and played our "hey you broke our shiny new camper a few months ago" card and even though they were slammed he got us in and taken care of in a few days. The whole service department is awesome and overall and excellent dealership, we have no issues steering our friends to the fine folks at Colerain RV and you can believe we will be back! read more

We are new owners of our first camper, a used hybrid model, so this review only speaks to the sale of the camper and not any services or parts (although the ladies helping us from this department on the day we picked up our camper were very knowledgeable and helpful, even in the midst of a chaotic afternoon). I honestly could not say enough good things about the entire purchasing process, the ease of financing, and the sales team leading us through buying our first camper, especially AJ - we will refer all future camper-buying friends and family to him. He helped us get a fabulous deal (literally one that could not be matched anywhere), he was super easy to get in touch with via phone or email, and he genuinely cared if we were happy with our experience. We didn't know what to expect with camper buying, dreading it as if it would be as horrible as buying a new car with pushy, annoying salesmen and financing departments that take forever. But this was just the opposite - we had SO much fun! The day we picked up our camper, the entire computer server was down (a nightmare for bank financing and completing paperwork) - BUT AJ, Gwen, and Justin made sure that problem didn't stand in the way of finishing our deal and sending us home with our camper. We were given a complete inside/outside course on how to use every part of our camper, we were shown the necessities we would need for camping WITHOUT any added pressure to purchase non-essential extras, and we were continually doted upon by the staff to ensure we were comfortable while we waited for all contracts to be handwritten (remember, no computers...). Honestly, with the service we received, the server being down didn't affect us at all. I've read the other reviews here and I must say they're surprising. We bought a modest camper - nothing luxury or overly expensive - yet we were treated with the utmost respect. We were not made to feel inferior in any way, nor pushed toward anything more expensive. Truly, AJ our salesman was nearly as excited as we were to offer us a great deal (and yes, it really was a great price). As far as the service department goes (and sales, for that matter), this place is BUSY! We were impressed with the amount of business they were doing every time we were there (proof that the negative reviews are the minority). Of COURSE the service department is going to have a bit of a wait. When it is time to upgrade to a larger RV, this is the ONLY place we will go, and we will definitely be requesting AJ again. read more

My review must begin with the admission that my husband and I are complete novices when it comes to anything having to do with RVs so we believe we hit the jackpot when Bernice Friedberg was called to the reception desk to be our sales rep. She was warm and friendly and never made us feel stupid but I swear I don't know how she kept a straight face with some of our questions.. Bernice was interested in the fact that we have decided to use our retirement to travel, see family, and when the spirit moves us, to settle in an area where snow shovels are unknown. After a brief discussion about what we thought we wanted and the amount we could afford to spend, we started a tour of the lot. Bernice chose the best sizes and floor plans for our needs and we spent quite a long time, never feeling rushed, going through the pluses and minuses of each vehicle. We were especially pleased that she stayed within our budget. After we settled on a lovely Coachman as our choice, we met with Justen Stepp who completed the necessary paperwork and sent us on our way full of dreams for our adventures on the open road. A couple of mechanical problems were discovered but were handled quickly and without a significant delay. And finally the day arrived when we would take delivery of our RV. Mike Evans was our guide into the wonderful world of homes on wheels. If he doesn't know it, it isn't worth knowing and he was fun, funny, and patient with a couple of neophytes who mastered the blank look of 'huh' very soon into our introduction to strange words like 'wheel chock'. He spent at least two hours with us and didn't seem to tire of our questions. We left Mike on complete information overload! I'm truly sorry that I don't remember the name of our salesman in the store who helped us pick out the extras that we would need and explained to us how to use them. He was perhaps the most patient of all and very much appreciated. Bernice has been in touch with us a couple of times and we plan to stay in touch with her because she is an important member of our retirement family having brought us into the world of RVs. read more

We purchased our new Rv from Colerain in Cincinnati in March. Our experience was great. We visited the dealership on a Saturday and it was extremely busy. All of the employees/sales staff still said hello and assured us someone would help us as soon as they were available. If you are someone who doesn't like to wait and browse I would recommend visiting Colerain during the week opposed to weekend. We had an idea of what we were interested in and were in the unit when Bernice stopped to see if we needed any help. We explained we had a trade in, and that we were not in a rush to purchase. We also let her know that we had shopped around and that we were looking for a dealership who would give us the best price on a new rv and for our trade in. Bernice talked to us about what we could expect from the unit and did not try to pressure us at all. We didn't want to take too much of her time as we were still planning to shop around. She invited us in to her office to give us an estimate on our trade and a final quote. When the numbers came back they were exactly where we wanted to be and the next thing we not we are purchasing our new Fifth wheel. Bernice took the time to call Keystone to get an answer very particular question that we had and never once did we feel pressured or rushed. Bernice was also wonderful the day we picked up the new rv and made the trade in. She has followed up several times just to make sure we are happy and satisfied with the purchase. As can be expected there are a few small things wrong with our rv. Bernice gave us the name of someone in the service department closer to where we live in Columbus. We just purchased our 2nd Jayco Pinnacle from Colerain RV (Cincinnati).  So here's our brief review from start to finish. Sales As with our previous purchase from Colerain our sales person, Bernice, is excellent.  Her RV knowledge is extensive, she answered all of our questions, and her demeanor is wonderful.   Trade-in We traded-in our older unit and the price we were given was very fair. Delivery to Colerain Due to the backlog all RV manufacturers are experiencing we still received out new unit in a very acceptable time period. Delivery to us Within a week after Colerain received our new Pinnacle we were notified that it had been inspected by Colerain's service department, prepped, and was ready for pickup. We arrived at Colerain and were greeted by Bernice.  Skully, our "guide" and explainer-in-chief gave us a full and in-depth presentation of our new Pinnacle reviewing all of the features and procedures involved in its operation.  He was very patient in answering all of our questions even if he had previously explained then to us. The service manager, Chris, explained the service provided by Colerain.  Having previously purchased an RV from them we know how excellent a "job" the service does.   In wrapping up our afternoon, we worked with Greg in the business office, completed all of the necessary paperwork and details. At the last moment we decided to add a few extras so we will wait a few days to take our new rig home. Final Note Colerain RV and its staff are excellent.  They are a hallmark for how an RV dealership, and really any company, should treat their customers with knowledge of their products, understanding their needs, honesty, and fairness.'' read more

So, four years later and I feel the need to update my review of Colerain RV. I am a little older and wiser, and have learned that I may be an endangered species: . . .the avid camper that loves the comfort of sleeping off the ground, but still loves the open and airy floor plan of a tent camper, aka, the pop-up. It turns out, the inventory issues I was not happy about at Colerain RV, are actually industry wide. In fact, just look around at any campground and you will not see many new pop-up campers. This is due to the popularity of hybrids with slideouts and the onslaught of the retro teardrop style trailers that have become so hip and trendy. In retrospect, I was hasty in walking away from a company like Colerain RV. In fact, I could kick myself. I made the mistake of going to Camping World (read my review of them for more info). Let's just say you get what you pay for. The camper I bought from Camping World may have been cheaper initially, but has been a mobile money pit. Even worse than the inferior product was the horrendous service that Camping World offers at a steep price. Suffice it to say, I went back to Colerain RV with my hat in my hand. The incredible staff of the Service Department found the problem on my unit in less than five minutes, and the expert technician fixed it quickly. Camping World had the unit three different times, overcharged for their "diagnosis" yet never solved the problem. What a contrast! I highly reccommend Colerain RV, whether you are making your first camper purchase, or are a seasoned pro. Their great staff is second to none in the Midwest! read more

We were shopping for a new class C motorhome and were using the pricing from Wholesale RV Club as a guide to compare local dealers and their pricing. We are from Connecticut, and the last thing we wanted to do was to buy an RV from Ohio. Well, after fighting with the East coast dealers, we were not about to leave $5000 on the table. We took the chance and bought a 2017 Forest River Sunseeker MBS from Colerain's internet sales department. Matt was our salesman, and he could not have been more patient and helpful getting us what we wanted and for a great price.. I must have called him 50 times with questions or special requirements in our deal, and he was nothing but polite and responsive to our needs. He got us a fair price for our trade, and when we picked up the new RV, it was in their garage all set up for our demo. They let us stay there most of the day setting things up with the camping gear that we brought with us. Mike, who did our demo, showed us how to use all of the systems in the new rig and made sure that everything was operating properly. It can be problematic to purchase an expensive motorhome over the phone from 800 miles away, but Matt and all of the people that we dealt with at Colerain RV made everything work smoothly. We drove away with a shiny new RV in which everything worked to our satisfaction, for a good price. That's hard to beat. I stopped in Colerain RV, over three years ago, to look at their Class C Sprinter's by Winnebago. I was cheerfully greeted and helped by salesperson Aline Parsley. She opened up several units so I could compare floor plans. She asked if I currently owned an RV, I answered no, nor have I ever owned one. She asked when might I be ready to take the plunge. I explained I was comparing models and it may be within the next 18 months. Fast forward to this July. After staying in touch with Aline during the past couple of years, my wife and I stopped in to take a look at other brands of Class C motorhomes. Aline showed us the Jayco line and we both fell in love with the MV floor plan with the Prestige package. Since I recently retired, and we plan on traveling throughout the U.S., we went ahead and placed our order for a new 2018 Jayco Greyhawk with Aline in mid July. During the entire sales process she was helpful, straight up and most of all fun and honest with us. She gave us the best price that we could have asked for! We took delivery of our new Jayco Greyhawk MVP with full body paint about two weeks ago. Needless to say, Aline made sure that she and her staff made the pre-delivery process go as smoothly as possible. Everyone at Colerain RV made us feel like family and we couldn't be happier with the entire sales process. We look forward to many happy miles and trips in our new Jayco Class C motorhome. This is an update on our review of 2/26/2015. There is an old and true adage, "If it's male or mechanical you're going to have problems with it." We were excited about the purchase of our 2015 Jayco Pinnacle 5th Wheel: it is one beautiful and comfortable "rig". Having previously owned travel trailers and motor homes, we expected to experience some initial minor problems........and we did. The Colerain RV Service Department service writers and technicians handled the repairs with care, courtesy, and a great deal of empathy. The repairs and adjustments were completed in an expeditious manner with little or no inconvenience to us. Having had motor homes for the past 15 years we had some new experiences and numerous questions regarding various components and procedures. With all of the knowledge of hindsight, most of these questions were already answered when we were given the training orientation by the Colerain RV technician. No problem: our inquiries were handled with the understanding that we were not the first to have these experiences. A special thanks to Peter Bentley whose advise and assistance was invaluable and who coordinated with the technicians, parts department, and Jayco and made sure that everything was done on schedule. We offer our sincere appreciation and kudos to the Colerain RV service people for their knowledge, expertise, courtesy and, most of all, the patience in which they handled the minor problems and repairs which we experienced. read more

Well after readin all the neg comments, just wanted to add my 2 cents worth. We were ready to replace our 2000 Jayco 31ft camper with one that didn't leak. We stopped by in Nov 2018 to look at few campers to see what we were looking for. We met Paul Schulty and told him we were just looking and not buyin today and he was fine with that. After he spent bout hour with us, knowing that there was no chance of a sale, he was never once in a hurry to brush us off. As we left, I told Paul when we were ready to buy, we would come see him. Well bout 2 weeks ago we walked in with a certain amount of cash we had to spend and told Paul when we found one THE BOSS liked we would bring number up to him and we could see what we could work out. Of course the wife picked out one that was more than we planned to spend, but Paul went in to his boss and came back, and told us, "His Boss put it on sale and with tax and delivery and everything, they would do the deal!!!" The following weekend we went up and they had other camper we bought....Inside all washed up and tires armor alled. Ron spent bout 90 minutes showing us everything worked and how it worked. One inside light was not working right, so they went and got one off the shelf and put it in camper. Everybody was very nice and Paul told us, if we ever have a issue, to call him. Word of mouth is best way to sell units, so pays to take care of customers, is my motto. read more

Aline is super sweet. She listens to her buyers and helps to select the perfect RV. Keith, the finance manager, worked out a great deal with the bank. Most major purchases my family make, we feel pressured, and in the end, regret our decision. Not here at Colerain!! They gave us plenty of time, we never once felt pressured, they helped us talk through our wants/needs and really assisted us in our purchase. That's it! We weren't sold... We were assisted! That's the perfect way to make a large purchase. The delivery process of picking up our RV was extensive. They ensured we had everything we needed to make our first camping trip in the new RV a success, they ensured we knew how everything worked and that we could properly execute a set up and a take down. I have purchased homes, RV's, autos, boats/wave runners.... This was the most comfortable process of them all. I personally am in sales myself... I know the games. No games played here at Colerain. When you go to purchase your first or your next RV, I highly recommend you to purchase through Colerain. They are great on prices and great on trade values. We have owned our trailer now for just about a year, having purchased it at Colerain RV in December of 2015. Our sales rep, Bernice Friedman was excellent to work with and didn't rush us into buying. Not certain exactly what we wanted, she worked with us to shift through the many choices and decisions. Once we made up our minds as to what we were exactly looking for we shopped around various dealers but came back to Colerain to make our purchase. It was because of Bernice that we returned to Colerain and the fact that their price met or came under the competition. We've had the occasion to use the Colerain Service department a couple of times and feel they have treated us well. We are having so much fun with our Venture Sonic that each time we get home from a trip we can't wait for the next one. In 2015 we took our trailer on 10 outings. We've been to Florida, Texas, North Dakota, West Virginia and to nearby parks in Kentucky, Indiana and ohio. Next summer we are planning on Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. I have been a camper most of my life. After i hurt my back I could no longer sleep on the ground. Salespeople at Blue Compass / Colerain RV. They are great. Aline and Steve, worked with my wife and I to buy are first pop-up camper. It was small. A year later, went back to buy a larger pop-up. Aline, made sure I received top dollar for my 1 year old pop-up. Very close to what I paid a year before. Since, then I have been back 3 more times to up-grade my campers. Aline, sold all of them to me. She is a very special person/sales rep. She works very hard to make sure her customers are very happy. I have only heard complaints about Blue Compass service. After a few of us talked to the management, the service dept was over hauled, a very large change to the better. I would recommend Blue Compass RV to anyone, especially Aline. She helped us out immensely. Blue Compass loan dept are also great. They call around to to different credit unions, to get the lowest rate. Like I said before Blue Compass are great to work with. I don't even know where to begin with my praise for this business. My husband and I had a very limited cash budget, and had looked at several different locations prior to our purchase on 8/27/15. We did a lot of "shopping" online and calling around because all the local RV dealers are scattered so much from us. We were very fortunate to find Bernice at Colerain RV (Cincinnati location). She went above and beyond, even had the one we were interested in moved from another location to the Cincinnati store because it was so much closer for us. Never in my life have I met someone who worked so hard to get something done. We had been in contact with her via phone for about a week and a half beforehand, and not once did she ever treat us like we were wasting her time because we wouldn't need financing on a brand new high dollar unit. Other dealers did that, and we walked out. Bernice fought for our business, and we walked out with our 5th wheel paid in full. We will return in the future, and I will recommend this business to everyone I know that is looking for a camper. read more

RV manufacturers and service contract companies, unfortunately reflect poorly on their retailer dealers. The time delays for repairs are a crippling reality for all power-sport customers. Buying from a reputable dealer, that maintains front line ready inventory is the first; most crucial step in defining your Dream. The Dealers are an experienced resource, to be utilized for their vast knowledge, and outstanding parts inventory. I am employed, in the RV industry as a Finance and Insurance professional. The dealers aren't denying claims, nor are they stealing anything. The vast majority of dealership employees are highly compensated, and more concerned with saving a few dollars, on their next trip to Costa Rica, than trying to nickel and dime anyone over $500. My wife and I just bought a trailer from Colerain. Aline was our sales person, and she was great. We first met at the RV show in Columbus where Aline walked us through all of the ins and outs of several competing brands. She was quite knowledgeable on the details on all brands and didn't oversell any particular brand or push us in any particular direction. As luck would have it, her husband who is a tech at Colerain was also at the show, and it was great getting his perspective on the competing brands. We then went several days later to look at several more trailers at the dealer. Again, Aline was quite accommodating in showing us numerous trailers is some pretty cold weather. After we selected one, Aline and Colerain did work with us on the deal. We felt that terms we ended up negotiating, including the price as well as the value of the trailer we traded in was fair...We felt good about the deal. We were on our third year with a camper that we purchased at Tom Raper. It was a quaint little A frame that needed more room. We looked for about a year a different campers and didn't want anything too big ... just bigger. Friends of ours suggested Colerain RV. As soon as we walked onto the lot, the first camper we walked into ended up being our new home away from home. I will say, and my husband and friends agree that Bernice Friedberg was OUTSTANDING! She knew that we didn't want to commit off the bat and was very easy to do business with. Going over the pro's and con's of purchasing the new camper was a piece of cake since we didn't feel pressured. We pulled the new camper off the lot a week later. We purchased our first RV at Cplerain RV last week. From the moment we stepped into the dealership, we dealt with top notch people. Steve spent several hours with us during the first part of the transaction. Answering all of our questions. We both agreed that this was the easiest purchase of a vehicle we had ever had. Lou in Finance also helped us with all the financing and even helped us pick the right insurance for our Winnebago. We came back when the vehicle was ready and spent another 4 hours going through all the bells and whistles. Again, everyone was very knowledgeable. Jacob even offered to call him day or night with any questions. We received a follow up call from Steve today; making sure we were happy and making sure there were no problems.
