Last night my wife and I decided to go look at RV'S at Colerain Family RV. I do appreciate the fact they are open till 8:00 PM. We arrived at the store about 5:45 and was greeted graciously by a very nice receptionist who then handed us over to Bernice Friedberg. We went to Bernice's office where she spent time getting to know us and what we were looking for in an RV. I told her I was a novice when it comes to RV'S and she made us both feel very comfortable and relaxed. While in her office we laughed and joked with each other as she was taking notes on what might interest us. We then went to the lot and looked at RV'S. It was evident Bernice was an experienced professional who really knew her stuff. We spent at least 90 minutes going through vehicles, talking and laughing together. Bernice did a great job building trust, thus building a solid relationship with both of us. Even though we told Bernice we were just looking and we might never purchase a vehicle, and frankly she might never see us again, she never flinched or acted like she was short on time. It was about 7:30 PM when we all hugged each other and said our good-bye's. I felt like I had made a new friend. Bernice and I even got our picture together!! I am Yelp Elite so this review with a picture will be on Yelp later today. Salespeople like Bernice are the face of a company. As stated, Colerain will receive a great Yelp Review because of our experience last night. Lastly, because of this experience, if I ever purchase an RV from anywhere, I will make sure I call Bernice first. If I find what I think might be a better deal somewhere else, I will give Bernice a chance to beat the deal. Colerain is lucky to have a salesperson like Bernice as she nailed customer service as well as it can be accomplished. We have already talked with three other people to tell them about our experience last night and we told them if they ever need an RV, go to Colerain Family RV...... we did say ask for Bernice. read more

Blue Compass RV - Bernice and I after looking at RV'S for almost 2 hours! - RV Dealers Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

Bought my first camper and we were so excited. They talked us into buying the warranty as well, you know, protect your investment. What a crock of BS. We take the camper out on the first trip. Couple of small issues with leaking pipes in bathroom sink but all in all a great trip. No weather, no issues, and all was well. We get home and wash the camper and notice a crack/tear in aluminum swing arm on awning. We take camper back to Blue compass and they fix the leaks(how it was missed the first time I do not know but maybe just a first run kind of loosening). The aluminum swing arm though they cant fix and sent to warranty company who denied it saying they were told by Blue Compass it was customer damage. Blue Compass says they didn't say it, warranty company says they did. Either way they are not fixing it and it is now my problem to worry about. Personally I would stay away from Blue Compass and their warranties that dont cover much. Shop elsewhere and I hope you find a camper company and warranty company that stands behind their products because Blue Compass sure as heck doesnt. read more

Low stars are for the service department only. We've had great interactions with sales and parts dept. Service - too many miscommunication. Told one thing- another thing happened. Too many bad repairs. Too many- couldn't duplicate. Oh, and if you ask for paperwork on winterizing your beans new RV and they tell you they show you how the first time, and it's included, dont believe them. Double check to make sure your parts are in before going in for your repair appointment. Too many times ours weren't. Total waste of our time. Of course they deny everything. Glad I got the extended warranty from Jayco. Equally glad I did not get the service warranty from BlueCompass. ​​​ read more

Colerain RV now Blue Compass RV -- definitely has room for improvement ! This is the emailed letter I wrote to them after my PDI for a 2024 NorthPoint 310 RLTS. Dear ****** I received a call from ** the day before the scheduled PDI.  He told me that a service tech cut the pipe under the toilet and the parts for the toilet would not be in until Monday.  I went ahead with the PDI. I had some concerns about the washer/ dryer installation blocking the access to the water shut off valves and the front of the washer was scarred up from the installer pushing the dryer to the top without protecting the front of the washer.  The 2nd awning was sagging. The water pump would not turn on, crack in front cap, etc... ***** after the walk through we came back into the building and we were seated at the "break room" area. At this point we have been there for 4 hrs...It was an hour before a finance person stopped by and I expressed concerns about the washer/dryer installation, fridge-water and ice maker not working, awning sagging on left etc.  I asked for *****s write up of items to be corrected.   Then I sat for another hour.  At this point we have been in the store for 5+ hrs.  It all seemed extremely unprofessional.  I started to leave when a different salesman had the wherewithal to ask if he could help. I explained my situation and he went and found somebody by the name of ****.  Please keep in mind that I was told $3,000 would be the max for washer/dryer install.  I gave **** the email from Blue Compass for an additional $250 off a new purchase. He disappeared for approximately 25 minutes and when he returned he brought me an invoice for the washer and dryer for over $3,500 and said he could not do anything better.   It has now been 1 week and no one at your location has reached out.  I had my insurance binder and cashier's check ready for August 10th.  Since I was under the impression that you did not want to sell the unit....I went ahead with another dealer. I firmly believe that by sharing my experience....things might (should) be improved for the next person. read more

Horrible experience. Stay away. They treat customers horribly, and just want to make a sale - sacrificing the customer experience and outcome in the process. I was in conversations with one of their salesmen over the weekend, and had verbally committed to putting a large amount down on the next business day. Then, ten minutes after the call during the business day, where we confirmed plans to exchange the payment information, I received an email that they sold it right out from underneath me - but what's more is they didn't even give me a chance to counter! That left me with a hard check on my credit, a loan that couldn't be used and no vehicle. I'm afraid I have to recommend customers stay away from this establishment. Bad practices. read more

So, four years later and I feel the need to update my review of Colerain RV. I am a little older and wiser, and have learned that I may be an endangered species: . . .the avid camper that loves the comfort of sleeping off the ground, but still loves the open and airy floor plan of a tent camper, aka, the pop-up. It turns out, the inventory issues I was not happy about at Colerain RV, are actually industry wide. In fact, just look around at any campground and you will not see many new pop-up campers. This is due to the popularity of hybrids with slideouts and the onslaught of the retro teardrop style trailers that have become so hip and trendy. In retrospect, I was hasty in walking away from a company like Colerain RV. In fact, I could kick myself. I made the mistake of going to Camping World (read my review of them for more info). Let's just say you get what you pay for. The camper I bought from Camping World may have been cheaper initially, but has been a mobile money pit. Even worse than the inferior product was the horrendous service that Camping World offers at a steep price. Suffice it to say, I went back to Colerain RV with my hat in my hand. The incredible staff of the Service Department found the problem on my unit in less than five minutes, and the expert technician fixed it quickly. Camping World had the unit three different times, overcharged for their "diagnosis" yet never solved the problem. What a contrast! I highly reccommend Colerain RV, whether you are making your first camper purchase, or are a seasoned pro. Their great staff is second to none in the Midwest! read more

I am so disappointed by the service at Colerain Family RV in Cincinnati. We bought our Class C Motorhome in October 2021. We took it in for service the first week of December. They called us and told us it was ready last week (March), we drove an hour to pick it up, to find out they never even looked at the main issue. We left it there to be finished with the promise from the service manager that they would take care of it asap. We received a text from one of the advisors, Alex, that they need to order a part and it's not drivable until they do. Still nothing and we have a trip planned in 3 days, which they have known about since FEBRUARY!!!!!!!! Extremely disappointed in our experience. We have had 3 sets of friends buy a camper since we bought ours and I have encouraged them all to go elsewhere. There service is completely unacceptable!!! read more

I bought my RV from Colerain. I did it sight unseen from across the country. That was a mistake. First, a couple good things: They did get a LEO to do a VIN inspection for me so I could register the vehicle remote, as I would be driving it across the country after too many days. And, they did have a great price. The paperwork went well. Now, the bad: The salesperson straight out lied about what was equipped in the unit. They promised an full delivery inspection and making sure everything worked before they delivered it. But, the refrigerator and the generator did not work on pickup. So, overall, if you were there in person to make sure of everything, this dealer is probably decent to good. But, I would never just trust them from a distance. Perhaps I was naive. But, they said they did remote all the time and I believed them. read more

On Monday morning, 1-16-22, I received a texted from Sarah from Colerain RV Cincinnati. She was responding to a message I sent asking a camper. It had the features & price we were looking for. We continued to texted on Monday & Tuesday & setup a time on Wednesday afternoon to drive (1hr 15min) to Colerain. On Wednesday, about a 1/2 hr before I needed to leave, I receive a text saying there were soft spots in the camper & would that be a deal breaker. So somebody finally got up off their ass and walked through the camper. Yeah, that's a deal breaker! Shady advertising, soft spots weren't listed. I told her it should be listed as a Handyman Special because of soft spots. Won't be dealing with them if they can't be upfront with the campers they are trying to sale. read more

I purchased a Jayco Melbourne 24L from out of state and drove it back to California because this dealership had a 2019 model. They we unable to help me register the vehicle in my state correctly. Items were missing (the MB Sprinter 3500) is suppose to come with a flashlight and first aid kit. No big deal. Either Jayco or the the dealership stole it. Also, the speakers were non-factory. They sold me an extended warranty policy which was from some company in Florida that never answered their phone. Got a refund on that in favor of a bumper-to-bumper warranty from Good Sam. I have no issues with the dealership except they were a little disrespectful after the sale. read more

I purchased my 2nd camper thru Colerain RV in Aug 2018 I made an appointment in oct 2018 to have warranty work done and was to Bring it in march 2019 on the 16th for work to begin. I had a planned camping trip planned in may so I had to pick it up after 5 weeks and was told to bring it back when I returned which I did picked it up on June 1st after much calling and no return calls to find the camper damaged with scratches and terrible workmanship they said they would fix it but would have to bring it back I would just assume do it my self and know it was done right. read more

Great sales team, utterly and completely useless service department. Not only that they screw up the easiest work, they also lie to you about warranty repairs that were done (and actually were not even looked at), they are careless about your RV - if they scratch or dent furniture, "it was not us". They employ completely untrained and incompetent service technicians who put a different carpet in as a replacement of a warranty repair than the one that is in the rest of the RV "oh, it looks similar" (yes, if you are either completely drunk, it is the middle of the night with no light or you are drugged up to a level that it would take a year to come down to earth again. I purchased a brand new 2022 camper at the beginning of the new 2023 year from them thinking they were amazing well that took a sharp turn into hell ive only used my camper once and found a lot I mean a lot of issues with it they told me they would let me know when to drop it off and I wait for a month called back told me the same thing I waited another month we'll finally I dropped it off and they said they'll get it fix so I waited and waited and call they still never even got to it I got mad about it the next day they got it in and told me what they needed to order and said it shouldn't be long on the parts to come in my camper has sat over there for 4 months keep in mind I've only used it once i finally told em I'll come and get it we'll it's October now and they are goin to still charge me to winterize it absolutely ridiculous place this place, and company is ran and own by clowns a lot of em fucking thieves im gonna have a lawyer in contact with you this is absolutely ridiculous they need to be ran out or put out of business read more

Have had good interactions with texting the team at Colerain RV in regards to questions I had with being new to the RV world. On 8/13, my wife, 3 kids and myself decided to take a trip to their store to learn a little more and see what steps we need to take to purchase an RV that suits our family. Everyone was very nice as we looked around. No one bothered us and there were no pushy sales. I like that! The receptionist at the front informed us that if we want to see any RV's outside that a salesman will assist since some of the RV's were locked. She was very nice to the kids and helpful with our questions. When the salesman approached us everything changed! He asked what do we have in my mind for an RV. I told him we were wondering if we could take a look at some to get a look at the different types RV's. He then made a comment about having some for 20k and they go up to 300k and then directly asked if we were purchasing today. I told him we were not planning to purchase today and he seemed mad about that and then mumbled something about needing to grab something and that he'll be back. When he came back my wife knew I was already annoyed. He then walked ahead to show us the camper that was already opened outside I told him we looked at that one already, but he continued on. I told him I like the bunk beds in the trailer and that we would probably like something like that. He then made a comment about it being called a bunk house, very quickly. He seemed to become more annoyed that he was still dealing with us. After this, my wife and I were both done. She told him that we were now leaving. He then said that we do not need to leave and that we can follow him back into the store and go over options. We said we were good again and then he continued to tell us to follow him inside. At this point we were already in the van and drove off. This interaction was by far the oddest interaction I have ever had with someone in sales. This guy seemed to want nothing to do with us from the beginning and he was not trying to hide it. We will not be returning to this store again nor recommendIng it to others. Part One: I have been incredibly disappointed by the service we have received at Colerain RV. Our relationship started out very strong. Our salesman, Brain Tinker, was fantastic! His communication and service was top notch! We bought a 2020 Jay Flight, and couldn't wait to hit the road! Our problems with the trailer began with our first trip. We thought that maybe it was user error, did some research, and then tried again the following weekend. Our problems were the following: -Refrigerator not working -Two cabinets wouldn't close -Exterior door wouldn't close properly, and then it wouldn't lock -Bathroom light didn't work -Weatherstripping in outside storage area was coming apart -Fresh water tank had a problem somewhere (we would fill it up, hardly use it and it would be empty within 24 hours). When looking underneath the unit, we could see water dripping from multiple locations. Our concern with the water tank was that a great deal of water was collecting under the trailer, and was not draining (we showed this to Brian Tinker on June 13th. Joe was worried about pulling the extra wait and mold building up if water was pooling in a place not designed to hold water. Beginning on June 12th, while on a camping trip, we knew that these were significant issues and began calling Colerain RV. I left messages, and they were returned. Unfortunately, we were camping and had poor service, so couldn't never talk to someone. We decided to leave our camping trip early and just drive to Colerain RV so that we could speak to someone in person. We arrived on June 13th after the service department was closed, and the woman at the front desk said that unfortunately no one was available, and it would likely take weeks to get in for a technician to see us, not until the END OF JULY !!!! She ended up calling our sales rep, Mr. Tinker. We went over the issues with Brian and another sales rep, and they told us they would take care of it and we should bring it in on Monday to be serviced. Up until this point, I still had great faith and respect in Colerain RV. On Monday, June 15th, Tricia Murray called to discuss our problems. She did take a lot of time to talk with me. Unfortunately, she told me that we should have been prepared to experience these issues. We just weren't prepared by our sales rep and because we were first time RV owners. I instantly felt that we weren't taken seriously. To buy a brand new product and have this much wrong was unacceptable. I shared with Tricia that we were leaving to go camping again on June 19th. She said there was no way it would be ready by then because they may need to order parts to repair the problems. I told her we had a trip to Michigan (the reason we bought the trailer) on July 1. She assured us it would be ready by then. From that point, there was very little communication. I emailed on June 15, 17 and 18th for an update and did not get a return until the 19th. On the 19th she stated that no one had even looked at it yet. I made many frustrated phone calls. I even asked Tricia if there was a supervisor over her that I could speak to. She shut me down, said no, and told me the buck stopped with her. If they were still needing to order parts, and no one had even looked at it, how would it be ready? l finally received this email from Tricia: You camper has been pulled into a bay and diagnosed by a technician. 1. There was not a leak in the fresh water tank. The tank was filled, there is not a leak, the low point drain was not shut off correctly, it needs to be in the middle, the customer had it turned to the right most likely thinking it was off. So there is no issue with the tank- all is fine. 2. Two screws needed to be installed around the weather stripping to better secure it. 3. The entry door latch catch needs to be replaced and door adjusted. 4. The cabinet door above kitchen sink was missing a screw. 5. The cabinet door below the kitchen sink need the latch adjusted. 6. The bathroom light needs to be replaced. 7. The screens need to be replaced. 8. The grate had popped and was clicked back into place. Replacement parts that need to be ordered will be submitted to Jayco. If you'd like to pick your camper up for your trip and use it none of the replacement parts needed will prohibit you from being able to do so. We will contact you when all of your parts come and bring you back in to complete the repairs. My husband and I agreed we felt comfortable picking it up and taking it on our trip, as the water problem was our biggest concern. Joe asked Tricia if a technician would be available to go over the low point drain so that he wouldn't make the same "user error" on our trip. When Joe arrived, there was of course, no technician to be found. Our family did take the trailer up to Michigan, and had nothing but problems. **Yelp won't let me add more to this. Need to have a brake controller hardwired to your vehicle? STOP!! Don't let Colerain RV service do this for you!!! I entrusted them with my Audi Q5 to do this and what I ended up with was a two conductor wire draped under my vehicle from front to back!! I noticed it on our first day out with the travel trailer when I happened to see a red wire hanging down from under the vehicle nearly dragging the ground! I was shocked at this level of service and professionalism coming from their service department! Now consider this. This two conductor wire is the power wire for the controller that sends power to the trailer brakes through the second conductor. What if this low hanging wire were to catch on road debris and get broken? Total trailer brake failure would result that could lead to a serious accident! So, Colerain Family RV service department didn't care about safety going down the road and just wanted to get the job done as quickly as possible. Not only that, they drilled a hole in my firewall to speed the installation. Despite my disappointment and anger, I now longer had any confidence in their work and vowed to not let them EVER touch my Audi again. I regret letting them do this for me! As far as sales, Glen Tackett was knowledgeable and the kind of person you would want as your neighbor. But their service department SUCKS!! What did I do? I had someone I trust to pull that wire out from under my vehicle and rerun it through the interior of the car the way it should have been done and reconnect it. Buying a new RV to enjoy your retirement shouldn't turn into a four month (so far) warranty nightmare. However thanks to Colrain RV of Cincinnati and Winnebago we have spent many hours taking our new 2017 Winnebago Vista LX 27 N and calling to get warranty work completed. Made appointment to have warranty work done April 12.2017. The service advisor Chris said it would sit on their lot for a week to ten days before the technician would look at it. After he goes over everything a work request wiould be sent to Winnebago for their approval. That could take another week or more and then if they approve it they would order parts . Parts could take a week to whenever to arrive and we won't start until we have all the parts. These aren't major issues thank goodness, just things Winnebago's lack of quality control should have addressed before it left Forest City. For example, front was out of alignment upon our receipt of the coach causing it to pull to the right. The steering wheel was not centered. Trimcaps and screws missing,1/4" gap behind lab sink bowl, slide room trim coming off, buff swirls in paint, fisheye in paint and it goes on and on. Every time I stop in or call Colrain RV it's like starting over. We will take more pictures and submit them to Winnebago, this after four months!! What did they do four months ago or two month or one month ago!! I had to call CDI the people who painted the Coach myself to talk to Dave N. to see what was going on with the paint issues. He was very nice and helpful. Dave approved the painting issues, however Mike M., Winnebago's district service manager told Colrain RV not to do anything until he sees it, maybe next week sometime. I tried calling Mike M. Of course couldn't talk to him so left voicemail and my phone number. I'm not expecting a call back because that's Winnebago's customer appreciation for you. So I guess we are shooting for six months or maybe November when the warranty is up. It's been a run around between them all, blaming each other for the problem. I just want everything fixed before the warranty is up!!! By the way this is my second Winnebago. Had no problem with my 2010 but the quality control has seriously deteriorated since then. My new Winnebago will probably be my last!! read more

While they may have a large selection, customer service ends the moment you take delivery of your new rv. Every attempt we have made to schedule warranty work within the first 2 years of ownership has been met with wait times of several months. What good is a warranty without a service department to back it up? I have been forced to fix most things myself, and regret buying an extended warranty. When my family decides to upgrade, I can assure you I will be shopping elsewhere. When you buy a new RV, do yourself a favor and find the dealership with the best service department, not the best selection. read more

Buyer beware. We bought a motor home from Colerain and have had nothing but problems. Promises of installs not completed. No formal demo or introduction to rig. Arrived with exposed screws, unclean, and poor condition. Numerous items didn't work and hadn't been checked. You will get a too good to be true price and end up paying to get it all fixed up! Colerain Family RV of Cincinnati knowingly sells incomplete and defective units. We ordered a brand new 2021 Forest River Georgetown to live and travel in fulltime which came full of issues from the manufacturer. First off, the unit arrived on their lot a full 5 months after we were told it would be there (we were informed 3 weeks after ordering, they knew time was an issue for us at the time we ordered). We went to see the unit after it arrived on the lot and found it was neither the interior color nor exterior color we had ordered. Colerain blamed the manufacturer, but the manufacturer has told me Colerain knew about the color change and should have informed us. When we came in to do our walkthrough (after Colerain supposedly inspected the unit up and down) neither our generator nor levelling jack system worked properly. Colerain said they would diagnose and fix before we came to pick up. We showed up two weeks later to pick the unit up and neither issue had been fixed or even looked at. It took them two additional days to fix the levelling jack issue and the generator still doesn't work properly. We also lost two nights of campground fees since we couldn't pick up on the date we were told. We had to take the unit back to Colerain during our first week because the shower wouldn't drain. The igniter on the stovetop did not work. Our combo washer/dryer never worked and still doesn't. The AC in the cab didn't work. The windshield was leaking. What exactly did Colerain inspect before we came for the walkthrough? We now have a list of over a dozen issues with the unit that are almost impossible to get fixed because all service shops are so far behind. Colerain Family RV never took responsibility for any of these issues and denied to compensate us in any way for the inconvenience or still incomplete/broken unit they sold us. I do not believe Colerain cares at all, since they can sell most people an overpriced and incompete RV, then make more money off of warranty service work. Our sales person, Bernice, was the only helpful and friendly person here. Do yourself a favor and buy a used RV from a private owner who has already fixed issues from the manufacturer. Avoid the dealerships at all cost. If you buy new, expect it to be in the shop for at least the first 6 months you own it. read more

Working with Aline at Colerain RV has been a positive experience from the time we met at the Dayton RV show. Aline worked with us to get top dollar for our trade and updated us frequently until our new camper arrived. She had our camper front and center on the morning of pick-up and greeted us with a smile - she is truly excited about people making camping memories, not just making a sale. The entire staff at Colerain went above and beyond to assure that we had everything we needed and were comfortable with how to work every feature on the new camper. We purchased a new Grand Design Solitude and the purchase process was great. That is where customer service ended. We had a stackable washer and dryer installed by them and found that they had not been fastened down. We returned for warranty repair and to have these unites tied down. After a month and many phone calls we finally got the unit back. The pick up area was so crowded that I could not open the unit to inspect repairs. When I got home I checked things and found the washer and dryer were still not fastened down. They move around in the closet and you cannot open soap and fabric dispensers to add products. Called to have my camper 2018 which I just bought from them for 30k de-winterized on 3-21-19. They winterized and put a new water pump in it because it was back feeding in to the holding tank.Which it wasn't under warranty missed by 2 weeks.Our camper sit's on a camp site and I guess they expect you to unload break down camp and take 45 miles one way and let it sit for 3 weeks while they fix it during camping season.Now if they winterize your camper they will de-winterize for free what good is that if they can't get to it by the end of May.Being it was free was going to have it done and also seal my roof.Sorry Colerain Rv I will do it all my self. read more
