I'd recommend Columbia Chevrolet at least after our first visit to their service department. We have a 2017 Suburban at 108k miles with a thermostat giving us issues on the radiator, like hundreds of other people online struggling with. My husband called and service department returned his call same day...amazing. Got an appointment and went to the drop off afternoon before. Checked in and the service department told me they'd run a diagnostic on it before replacing the two parts with a bill of $1000. They called the next day before lunch with it ready to go and for almost half the price. Less than a week after and they sent me a thank you card. Truck is running nicely and we can hopefully get more miles from BIG FAST. Thanks Columbia Chevrolet. read more

My 91 year-old dad saw a Cadillac he liked advertised for $9000. He went in the next day as soon as they open to purchase the car. They said it was actually $14,000 even though it was advertised for $9000. I wonder if this is just a technique to get people on the lot. On the used car I purchased from Columbia Chevrolet, the transmission died after 4,000 miles. They are not standing behind the sale at all, and tell me that the (6 month) warranty was up by 10 days. But during a check in call I made to their service department, they told me it would be covered, and even gave me the part name they were waiting on. Now comes the UNBELIEVABLE part of the story. They told me that the service manager I talked to had me confused with another customer. So their apology to me during my 4 1/2 week wait while my car sat in their shop was, "Sorry, honest mistake, we confused you with a different customer!" (that ALSO had a 2017 Tahoe recently purchased from them that had a bad transmission, and had a warranty question.) Can you imagine, of all the gin joints, that there was a customer JUST LIKE ME. So weak. And again, their gift to me for my troubles was an inflated repair cost ($7,200.00) But they would discount it by $1,000.00 for my troubles. I called another reputable Chevrolet dealership in the area, gave them my VIN number, and asked for an estimate on a rebuilt transmission replacement. $6,200 - $6,400. Imagine my surprise!!!! Baz and Corey treated us well and sent us on our way with the truck we came looking for. My husband and I were very impressed with this dealership! It's been the best buying experience we've had in the past few years. They graciously increased the trade in value of our previous car, to help us get the rate we needed. This was the driving force in the sale (no pun intended) because we really didn't want to deal with trying to privately sell our old car. They made it happen, rather quickly! Baz held the car for one day and stayed in touch with my husband to get all the paperwork and numbers together. The finance guy tried to give my husband the run around but hubs stayed firm with the numbers Corey quoted us and we got out of there with what we wanted/needed. They don't have the nicest waiting area but there is a TV room and vending machine. My kiddo enjoyed watching TV and playing with the books while Daddy bought himself a new truck. Copied from my Google review. People need to know to avoid this place. We were told twice our car was ready when it wasn't even safe to drive. They didn't test drive it and sent us on our way. I was almost rear ended twice because it could barely turn BACK into the dealership parking lot. We've paid over $1000 for a car that's not even in our possession. STILL waiting to hear something and they've had the car for four full days. **update. Finally got the car back after we had to tell them to test drive it (absolutely shouldn't have to tell them to do that????) ran fine for one day and now the check engine light is back on. Called before they closed (which we never actually know when they close, Google says 5:30pm but apparently it's actually 5pm) to see if we could drop it back off and we were told everyone had already gone home. This has been such a frustrating and unprofessional experience and it's not even over yet. Just go somewhere else. Excellent customer service! We were on our way from Georgia to Steubenville for the college graduation of two of our sons. Our rental car had a blowout on I75 south of Cincinnati. We put on the donut spare. Avis told us that the tire must be replaced with an exact match, including brand. We made several attempts that evening to find the tire and gave up. Early the next morning I found Columbia Chevrolet and called as soon as they opened. Jeff, the parts manager, answered and I explained we were in danger if missing our boy's graduation, and Jeff saved the day! He didn't have the tire in stock but said he could have it delivered in an hour and a half and would get the tire changed as soon as we arrived, and that's exactly what happened. I would give them a zero if I could. I was recently searching for a new car approximately 4-5 weeks ago. I found a 2015 Ford Explorer at Columbia Chevrolet that I was interested in, and called to schedule a test drive for that night. However, I wanted to go check it out before hand, so on my lunch break I drove over there. Now keep in mind I am a girl. So I was already skeptical about talking to dealerships because it's common knowledge that many salesman do not take woman as seriously in those types of circumstances. So I drive up there and find the car. I get INSIDE the car and sit INSIDE for 10-15 minutes talking on the phone with my dad about the car, while waiting for a sales person to come out. At one point a salesman walked by me, looked at me, and kept walking. These people let me sit inside their car without EVER EVEN BOTHERING to come talk to me. I finally left and promptly canceled my test drive, and am happy to report I found my dream car from a much better dealership AND for a much, much better deal. I suggest not wasting your time here. They definitely will not ever be getting mine or my family and friends business ever again. read more

Sales: Needed to purchase a new car recently though my employers discount plan. Columbia Chevrolet had the exact model we wanted, so my wife and I headed over. The showroom is nice and clean, as you would expect. Gary, our salesman, was very knowledgeable about the vehicles, and answered our questions without being too pushy. We went out for a test drive, and then went home without any pressure to make a decision. We came back 2 days later ready to purchase. Gary helped us work through the discount plan, and offered the car for exactly what was advertised through the plan. He then noticed we drove up in a Mercedes and, after verifying that we owned the vehicle, was able to get us an additional savings for driving a competitive vehicle. I did not know about this discount, nor ask for it, so I truly felt he was trying to help us get all the possible discounts available. All in all, we walked out with a great car at a great price after a pleasant sales experience. Thanks Columbia! Service: Went back to Columbia for the 1st scheduled maintenance, which is free with any new car purchase. Made an appointment the day before, and was in and out in less than an hour. They offer a waiting room with tv and free coffee, and vending machines for purchase of other drinks and snacks. Easy and uneventful, which is all I ask for from a dealership/mechanic. read more

Let me start by saying I'm really torn between 2 and 3 stars.... It took at least 15 minutes before someone helped me. Maybe it was because I bypassed all the brand new Camero's sitting in the showroom and went out towards the used cars after 5 minutes of not being helped. Finally got a salesman, and for the most part loved him. I was by myself, but once I mentioned 2 or 3 car tidbits, he realized I knew what I was talking about, and didn't talk to me like i was just a girly girl looking for something shiny. Seriously salespeople, knock that off!! So we looked at a few cars, and he really listened to what I liked and didn't like, and my budget. We found a Malibu I wanted to try, and he asked me if I'd like to go by myself, or if I'd like him to come along, major plus! I liked the car, but needed to make sure the 6'6" fiance could fit in it, which I was sure he would. And this, this is the awesomeness... He let me keep the car overnight, and drive it to work, to make sure I really liked it!! I didn't think anyone outside of small town middle of nowhere did that!?! Again major bonus points! But then the financing came along. Due to schooling, and moving more times than my age in the past 6 years, I still have my parents address on my license (and since I'm in the process of looking for a house, was waiting to change the address/my last name all at once) Even after supplying them with a credit card statement, in my name, with the card, and my current address, I was told that they couldn't finance me, unless I changed my license. Wait, what?! I'm sorry but I'm not forking out $75 and a week of my life at the DMV when I'm going to change it again in 8 months. Although he did mention we could just throw that in on the price of the car into the deal, but I'm sorry, the time and loss of sanity spent at the DMV is not worth it.... But they did have a nice selection at decent prices. And are very willing to take care of any little issues you might have with the car, such as adding cruise control or whatnot, into the deal. So basically everything in the middle of the whole experience wasn't bad... just the beginning and the ending. read more

I bought a 2020 Suburban, when you spend 70K on a vehicle you would at least expect it to be detailed when you go pick it up. Not only that but the day that I picked it up they couldn't find my second key FOB - I had to make a second trip over there so that they could program the key Fob, Plus give me the DVD remote that they never put in the car. I asked that day if it could be detailed again since they never did it and there was all kinds of crap all over the floors just from the manufacturing carpet underlay. That day I bought premium weather mats in which they just decided to throw over the weather mats and not detail the carpet when you lift up the all weather mat you can tell there's all kinds of garbage still under there. This was by far the best car buying experience we have had when it came to the car salesman Gary Banfield and negotiation tactics. No pushy back and forth. I only had to view 2 offers from the finance manager to get where I wanted to be with purchase price and trade in amount. No nonsense of "what monthly payment are you looking for". We were able to leave and eat dinner and then come back and complete our purchase without any hassle. My only frustration... a full tank of gas is not provided if you're purchasing a used vehicle. I felt like I was still spending $20,000, and less than $30 in gas wasn't much to go the extra mile for customers. Overall, I highly recommend this dealership over everywhere else we have been. I strongly suggest that you go to another dealer. My brother made an appointment to come in to look at a SUV that they had listed on cars.com. He talked to Gary and told him we would be there between 5:00 and 7:00 and Gary said that would be fine and he would have the SUV parked out front when we arrived. When we got there at about 5:20 the SUV was out front, but when I went in to find Gary, another salesman told me the SUV had just been sold, and that we were late for our appointment. Several salesmen and the sales manager where trying to figure out what had happened. Then they try to sell my brother a Cobalt. What part of SUV don't you understand! So they did not honor their commitment. The customer who bought the SUV was there doing his paper work, was laughing, thought it was funny. I suspect it wouldn't have been so funny if the shoe was on the other foot. I would like to add that none of the employees were wearing masks, which tells me they also have no respect for their customers safety. Great experience. I recently moved to the area without a car. My job doesnt start for another month so I was in no rush to buy anything. After multiple craigslist ... well let's call them fiascos... I thought why not lease a new car. I searched around for sub $250 leases and short term leases on sites like swapalease and found nothing but smart cars. I wasn't going to pay someone else to be seen driving a smart car. I'm brown and we fit 12+ people in a smart-car-sized rikshaw, but this is 'merika and the most I'm willing to stray from a pickup and a pitbull is a phev (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) with a charger (which I feel obligated to call Petey). Anyway, I thought the Chevy Volt would be neat so I checked the Chevrolet website for a current lease offer and saw one ever so slightly above my price range. I called around to a few dealers who quoted me the same price as long as I was a decorated general who just graduated college and owned majority shared in GM. Until I called Columbia Chevrolet. They also asked if I'd served in the War of 1812 (clarification: this is meant solely to be a satirical portrayal of the current Chevrolet incentives and not a mockery of those for which the incentives are) and after not qualifying for any current offers the lease price was higher again than I expected. Until they, without prompting, mentioned that they were leasing loaner cars at a discounted rate. A price even lower than originally in my budget. Suspecting it to be too good to be true I warily proceeded in talks with a salesman. Now, I mentioned previously that I don't have a car. So getting around is basically metro (or lyft... sidebar: request me and my new volt!). So I did absolutely EVERYTHING over the phone other than paying and signing. Baz, my sales rep, was amazing. I know it's in his best interest to sell a car but this car was so discounted I'm sure he could have sold it to (insert person in no need of a phev here). Well I wanted to give this dealership a good review because I thought they were a reputable company and after 4 months and 3000 miles on the van I purchased for 8k - it's been nothing but a nightmare. Off the lot, I had to replace the brakes all the way around, the alternator failed which cost $900 to replace and now the radiator fan just died. Literally, 4 months after purchasing the van I've had to pay over $1500 in repairs. I'm super disappointed in the entire situation because the car is turning into a money pit which I did not expect out of a Chevy dealership. If you're looking for a used vehicle I would steer clear from this place. I bought a new pickup from this dealer. It's about 45 minutes from me. My truck has a issue where I cant get truck shut off. Can't get key out. So you run down battery. I called this dealer I bought car from . 800 miles. They said I could bring it in and they'd look at it. I ask if they could give me a loner. They said that would be really tuff. And talked very unprofessional. It's like they can sell a vehicle to you but once you get it don't bother them about anything else. I did call a Chevy deal close to me and they will fix it since it's under warranty. Now they didn't even sell me the truck and treated me far better than Columbia Chevy. Way way better. I take it in Monday. They will give me another pickup for the day so I can work. So I'd say yep you can buy a truck from this dealer but once you get it, don't count on any customer service and don't totally count on a vehicle while you are getting your brand new vehicle fixed. I told him we were upside down in our car, what we owed, credit score, etc. He said come on up he'll get me $500 less than the sticker price at jeff wyler eastgate and give us an extra $500 over they're offer for trade in. When we arrived they didn't offer any less than wyler's sticker price and they offered me the exact same trade in as wyler. Then they couldn't get us approved which I tried to explain to him before we drove 45 minutes to get there when wyler already had us approved. Absolutely terrible business practices! Originally went in after reviewing the online pricing. Test drove a vehicle, absolutely loved it, and discussed numbers. I worked with Nick who readily agreed that he would submit my information to their direct financing ONLY as I did not want my credit ran multiple times.We agreed on the price of the vehicle and went home for the evening. The next afternoon I was notified by Nick that they could not acquire us financing. When I questioned him about the exact numbers that were ran, he then notified me that the online pricing was invalid and that he had to screen my credit for a vehicle that was $5,000 more. When asked why he did not contact me prior to screening me with that difference all he could say was "I've been doing this too long to make that mistake, I should have called you". Nick then tried to justify his actions by interrupting me multiple times and talking over me while I was questioning why this would happen. After numerous conversations with the sales manager Joe and Nick and promises of "we're going to make this right for you" I was then offered a deal that had a difference of $300.00. Horrible customer service! We live a 2 hour drive away. Allowed them to do a credit check for financing over the phone for a used vehicle, received a call back regarding approval but needed a down payment. Scraped up a down payment & called then back telling them we were going to make the trip down, asked for a car fax which we were told would be printed & ready for us. Get there Only to be told that the guy we spoke to was new & had made a mistake...no loan approval unless we buy new. Vehicle is too old for bank to finance. No car fax, guys acted as if it was a burden to even show it us, but hey they are more than willing to sell a new car. Not friendly, most of the staff would've rather been anywhere else but work. Made an appointment via the internet. Confirmed via email multiple times and arrived at dealership. Tag-team met my husband and I at the door with the sole purpose to delay us as another couple had come to the dealership at the same time (without appointment) from Indiana. They were allowed to test drive and negotiate while I was left to cool my heels and wait to see how it all turned out. I was asked if I wanted to test-drive while they negotiated. "For what purpose?" Literally 2 days later the check engine light was on and has been on ever since. 2 weeks after purchasing the car, I blew a tire and then find out the tires are dry rotting. This dealership is beyond incompetent. They don't even want to try to improve! I had a check engine light come on a few weeks ago. Columbia Chevrolet did a software patch, but ignored the diagnostic codes indicating a problem with the coolant valves. Two weeks later the check engine light came on again, and OnStar reported the same issue with the lithium ion batteries. I made an appointment through Columbia's website and received a confirmation and reminder, but the phone number on the reminder was no good. When I got through on a different number, the service department had no record of my appointment. The service guy said he would get me in anyway. Minutes later a manager called back and cancelled the appointment, because he found out I had given them a poor review on the first appointment. That is completely unprofessional. Now I'm stuck with a car I can't get serviced before a scheduled trip out of town this week. read more

I came here for a simple repair and both the parts and service departments were nothing but helpful and made sure I was happy. HOWEVER, I'm not giving 5 stars because of the poor service I received from a woman named Sherrell. She checked me out after my repair was finished and let me stand there until she was good and ready to ask if I needed anything. She told me my total and while she was looking at her screen I got my card out of my wallet. She stared at me like the 5 seconds I was taking out of her day was just too much. Not an ounce of friendliness, not a single smile. Then she proceeded to be short with me and slam my card and receipt down on the counter. Her attitude was nasty and distasteful. It wasn't what she said, it was how she said it and the way she acted toward me. This is so unacceptable I don't even want to go back because that would mean dealing with this woman again. You guys need to be aware of your customer service and the way these people are representing your dealership! I never leave poor reviews, but I feel like the dealership has been very dishonest with me. I purchased a Tahoe from Columbia Chevrolet and as far as the vehicle goes, I am very happy with the vehicle itself, I plan on purchasing another in the future. I realize that due to the dealership' s location and clientel, they don't deal with too many customers who are trying to get every dollar off they can. I tried to save as much as possible on the vehicle (which ended up being zero), but I did get a great value for my trade in, which I was happy with. I had been watching similar vehicles sell very quickly in the area so I agreed on what the salesman (Donnie) said was the lowest the used manager (Corey) would let the car go for and not a dollar less than the advertised "internet deal". I understand they have to make money, but there was zero effort to take any money off the price. That aside, Donnie was a nice guy and was very relatable. I test drove the vehicle, they low balled me by $8k on my trade in and I walked. A few days later I called and said I was still interested, but the numbers need to be closer, they ended up coming up $7k on my trade in so I said deal because I didn't want the Tahoe to sell. The buying process was fine, the Tahoe was clean but had hardly any gas in it. I've bought many vehicles and they always at least fill up the tank, but oh well. I was only there a few hours, which I expected and drove off in my Tahoe. That's where the customer service stopped for the most part. My registration on to my trade in expired a week before I traded it in, so I went immediately to the BMV to transfer and renew the tags. The BMV said they couldn't transfer the tags until I had a copy ofnthe title, my mistake. So I renewed them and was told I had 30 days to bring in the title to transfer. No problem I thought. I contacted the dealership and they assured me the copy would be sent soon. A week passed and I contacted the dealership because I was offered a $100 parts certificate from their website, which no one seemed to know anything about or how to process. I kept getting the run around by the salesman and after a lot of back and forth and having to contact the drive,click,sign customer support and speak to several people I was granted my certificate. Donnie mailed me the part I ordered to save me the two hour round trip to the dealership, which I do appreciate, but it took a lot to get that. I felt like a pain, it I felt like I deserve at least that. Another week goes by and I ask about the title, no one knows but promise that it will be there soon. I told them about the 30 days and it was getting close, the title people said I actually have 45 days and not to worry. I then called the bank the financing was going through, who told me the dealership hadn't sent the paperwork yet and I need to contact them. I did and got the runaround again. After almost 40 days from purchase the dealership said they needed a paper signed they forgot to have me sign, so I did. The paper I signed stated that the vehicle was a manufacturer buyback, which I was aware of, but stated the title would be branded that way, which I was told that it would not be. I then spoke to Corey who said he was overnighting the paperwork to the bank and they would overnight it back to me. This was a week ago and I have no title, and driving my vehicle is now considered "illegal". Corey hasn't responded to my emails, and Donnie said there is nothing he can do to expedite the process. I spoke to Donnie yesterday and he said my paperwork has been sent to the bank and I will have it in one week. I bought the vehicle on August 8th, today is September 28th and I still have another week until I can transfer my tags to my new vehicle. I love my Tahoe, but regret buying from this dealership. I was not offered any kind of restitution aside from an apology from Donnie. Again, I hate leaving bad feedback, but this ordeal has left a bad taste in my mouth.
