Wow! The food here is amazing! I had been at their old location for brunch, but this time we came for dinner, and I was truly impressed. We had the Miami Spice menu. This is one restaurant I feel does the Miami Spice right. By that, I mean they don't skimp on their portions. You get to pick 1 appetizer, 1 entree, and 1 dessert from their regular menu. We started with the shrimp and grits, which were delicious. My husband had the oxtail andI had the pork chop with 2 sides. I will definitely be back to try some other items! read more

This restaurant was recommend to me by a co-worker for Miami Spice. I should've listened when she told us to go for dinner because brunch wasn't all that great! Parking is limited, the space isn't very spacious, and they bring your food out one-by-one as it's being prepared. I would not recommend getting the shrimp and grits appetizer. The brunch platter with scrambled eggs and cheese, bacon, potatoes, and a muffin was pretty good! However, I didn't enjoy the lemon buttermilk pancake.. I was a little frustrated when I heard the manager call out to the kitchen that he was "less worried about the Pancake Spice" after I had been waiting over 20 minutes for my order. They were completely understaffed for the crowd! I'm very surprised that this is a recognized Food Network restaurant, but I'm willing to give it another try for dinner one day. read more

Wonderful local spot near me, first time eating at the new location across the street, the food is still fabulous, we went with the jalapeño cornbread and Swedish meat balls for starters, and we both opted for the specials, braised beef cheeks with mashed potatoes, and a porkchops with dirty rice and haricot verts. For dessert, we had the dark chocolate cake, which was sinful. Great night, wonderful food, great service, thank you, Evan. We just finished dinner here.. this place is misleading , they say 45$ Miami spice menu choose any app , entre..then the bill arrives and they add extra extra charges , shouldn't this be known prior to order? My bf and I came here for Miami Spice. We made a reservation for a Sunday night and they weren't packed, but staff was pretty busy. The MS menu is unique in that you can choose any appetizer, entree, dessert, and select beer or wine for a fixed price. I don't know of any other MS restaurant that offers that. You have so many options (including vegetarian) to choose from! We ordered: Apps -jalapeño cornbread with a slab of brown butter (probably my favorite dish of the meal) -shrimp and grits Entrees -brown stewed chicken (soooo tender) with mushrooms and Brussels sprouts -short rib (also very tender and fall-off-the-bone) Dessert -key lime pie (we didn't have room and took home - it was delicious with coffee the next day. And that whip cream....mmmph) It did take awhile to get our order in and then for food to come out. We ended up getting our entrees first and had to ask for the appetizers. After seeing this restaurant featured in Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on Food Network, I've been wanting to try. Had the opportunity to when my friend suggested. Unpretentious diner-like vibe with very friendly and attentive servers. Started with Cuban Sandwich Spring Rolls which were a little small but manchego cheese was a nice change up. Jalapeño cornbread with brown butter was very delicious! They finish it on the flat top or a technique like that to give it a crispy texture on the surface -- so good. We shared the Big Ragout - a hearty portion of pasta with multiple meats in a sweet tomato sauce. Very delicious as well. Other items coming out of the kitchen smelled and looked great. Everything about this dinner was spectacular. My husband and I rarely go out in Miami, but when he suggested Blue Collar before going to see a show at ZeyZey, I was skeptical. We arrived and sat outside because it was one of the two nights it was actually cool in South Florida. Everything was incredible from the food to the service! We had such a wonderful night that we want to keep coming back. The salad I had, was just that obligatory. My husband had the curried goat special and it was probably one of the best things I've ever tried. Blue Collar became one of our favorites and we will be coming back. read more

I had many choices to spend my Birthday this year, but after looking through the YELP page and researching restaurants I chose Blue Collar. I was excited to try the food and experience the location. I made reservations online and arrived on time. The location is small but has outside seating. We sat inside. The food was INCREDIBLE! We started with appetizers to include the corn bread, conch fritters, and macaroni and cheese. For the main coarse I had the big ragout, two others ordered more conch fritters because they were so good, and one ordered a cheese burger. The smell they were cooking was incredible. Garlic and butter over an open flame. Wow! The Big Ragout is everything I expected and more. The flavor packed into this dish like no other!! Overall, super happy with the food! The desserts were great too. We tried the bread pudding which had a kick. A nice kick. And we tried the hummingbird cake which was okay. Nothing crazy. Could have been better if it was fresher. The service on other hands was pathetic. No Other words to say. They forgot the drinks. They forgot two things we ordered and we just cancelled the order when they finally stopped back by the table. I give 5 stars for the food, 1 star only for the service. Is it worth the wait and the lack of service, sure, but it most certainly could be better. We sat outside, afternoon lunch. Best Martini in my life! It was perfect, seriously, John the bartender knows his drinks! Louis (Luis?)was our waiter, he had several tables, very attentive to detail, anticipated what was needed(another fork . napkin fell on floor , replaced) All without a request, he sees it and fixes it! This review is another entry in my tour of the places in Florida Guy Fieri has eaten at with his show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I have a Yelp collection if you want to follow along with my adventures. The show first aired in 2006 and it is on its 44th season of Guy's road trips across America where he highlights some of America's most underrated and delicious local eats. Blue Collar has been on DDD numerous times. It appeared on the first season, episode 56, All Stacked Up featuring super stacked sandwiches from Miami to Memphis an episode 77, Wings 'n' Things where Guy tried drumsticks and duck. Later on they were on season 19, episode 8, Cross Country Comfort Food when Guy sampled the spicy oxtail. Blue Collar was also featured on season 2, episode 5 of Guilty Pleasures Holy Moly Burgers! and Check Please. Blue Collar is located in the MiMo neighborhood of Miami, a one mile stretch of mid century modern architecture in Miami that is a gem. In the 1950's this area along Biscayne Boulevard from 54th to 77th streets was lined with motels in mid-20th-century architecture but as the years went by the area developed a reputation for drugs and prostitution and was generally avoided. Now it has been revitalized by developers and locals who are also in love with the iconic Miami Modern style. Today you will find boutiques, restaurants, and Art Deco motels like The Biscayne which is the home of Blue Collar. Chef and owner Daniel Serfer came to Florida from New York and was inspired to create a casual restaurant serving comfort food with fine dining ingredients that people would want to frequent. Blue Collar opened on January 13, 2011 and has won the Burger Beast Burgie Awards for Best French Fries and twice for Best Restaurant in Miami. My girlfriend and I talked about coming here for so long. Miami Spice finally provided the catalyst to come. Miami Spice is a discount restaurant program Miami restaurants can participate in that offers three-course meals at top tier restaurants for $30/$35 for lunch/brunch and $45/$60 for dinner. Unfortunately we showed up a little early for the 5:30 dinner service but we entertained ourselves in the area and we were one of the first to arrive back when they reopened. I love that they have free parking long the hotel wall for Blue Collar. Free parking in Miami is like finding a unicorn. I didn't know the restaurant was so small, only 8 tables inside, although they have additional seating under a covered patio out front. The walls are decorated with vintage lunch boxes. I feel lucky we were seated inside without reservations and definitely recommend them. It is such a deal to eat here with the Miami Spice discount. For $45 you get any appetizer from the menu, any main course, any dessert, and wine or beer. You can't beat that deal. As soon as we sat down the chef sent us complimentary latkes with applesauce. The crisp, hot potato cakes were heavenly but that applesauce took it to a whole new level. Just based on that first taste we knew we were going to have a fantastic dinner. For my meal I ordered the macaroni and cheese, ribs from the daily special, and the chocolate cake for dessert. The creamy macaroni and cheese was wonderful and the fall off the bones ribs were melt in the mouth delicious. The fudgy, moist cake would satisfy any chocoholic and was the perfect sweet ending. My friend donated her glass of wine to me which was exactly what I needed after a stressful night of being awake when the power cut off at 1AM. By the second glass and some amazing food, the stress finally started to drift away. I stuck to the meat but Blue Collar is actually very vegetarian friendly with their four vegetable meal plates. Some people even think the vegetables are the star of the show. A lot of the Miami Spice restaurant menus restrict you to certain dishes. I really appreciated how Blue Collar allows you to choose anything on the menu. The Miami Spice deal was so much food that I had enough to bring home for an incredible lunch the next day. I have always enjoyed all of the DDD restaurants I have tried but Blue Collar knocked it out of the park. Especially coupled with Miami Spice, this is a deal not to be missed. read more

Blue Collar is a famous diner located in the Upper East Side/Morningside neighborhood of Miami that is known for serving up comfort food made out of just about anything you can think of. Their offerings range from anything such as Latkes and Applesauce, to Shrimp and Grits, Reuben Sandwiches, and meats of the day which can include Short Rib and Oxtail. We came for their Miami Spice menu on a rainy Thursday evening without reservations. Their indoor dining area is on the smaller side and was full when we got there. We maybe had to wait 20 minutes to be seated, and it was well worth the wait (but reservations will serve you well given how popular Blue Collar is, especially during Miami Spice)! Blue Collar's Miami Spice 2023 menu was a true bargain! For $60, participants received a glass of either red wine or white wine, plus virtually any appetizer, entrée (aside from whole fish and market price items) and dessert item on the menu. Everything was a huge portion, as well! My fiancée and I started with off our complementary complementary glasses of wine and looked over the extensive menu. Our server, Foh P, was excellent and gave us descriptions of each of the items we were considering to order. With her help over some hilarious conversations, we decided on the following items: - Conch Fritters with spicy tarter sauce - Shrimp and Grits - Spicy Oxtail, with Scotch Bonnet, creamy Yukon gold mash potatoes, bread, jus - Their famous "Corben" sandwich, with Portuguese muffins, Braised brisket, Dijon, jus, Latkes & applesauce - Hand Squeezed Key Lime Pie, with Graham crust, vanilla whipped cream - Bread Pudding, with Cayenne whipped cream Where do I even begin? The shrimp and grits was very rich in flavor and protein. The grits came on top of a gravy sauce and contained pieces of bacon in addition to the shrimp. The conch fritters actually contained conch and weren't mostly bread as they are at other places. Not to mention that the spicy tartar sauce tasted phenomenal, as well! Both of our main dishes were spectacular! Oxtail is something that we rarely ever have had, only tasting it at a relative's house once or twice before this dinner. It was so tender! My fiancées Corben sandwich was also very juicy and evidently made with very good quality brisket. The included latke on the side was also a very nice touch; something she hadn't had before either. I don't know how we had room for dessert, but we did! This may be sacrilegious to say, but it must be said: Blue Collar's Key Like Pie is right up there with Joe's as 1A and 1B for the best Key Lime Pie in Miami-Dade County. It was that good! The taste wasn't as lime-forward as Joe's, but the more balanced flavor is something that many will appreciate. Oh, and Blue Collar's graham cracker crust is simply perfection! The Bread Pudding was also excellent and up there with what we've had at Chef Adrienne's, but you MUST try the Key Lime Pie! We had to be rolled out of there and are already planning our return visit to Blue Collar for one of their daily specials/promotions! This small joint located on the south side of a hotel on biscayne blvd is amazing. The service was top notch despite the small staff and busy restaurant. Loved hoe efficient they were. Now, the stars of this joint resides in the kitchen. The food was top notch. The flavor was on point, the temperature of food was perfect, the lemonade was bussing. Blue Collar is a tiny place that packs big ambience and bigger flavor. No matter what you order, you know you are getting a delicious meal that is prepared with care and expertise. I was so glad to finally make my way down to Blue Collar after hearing many great things, and we were not disappointed. They often have deals, so follow them on Instagram for the news. Recently participating in Miami Spice, and also recently hosting buy one get one entrees on Thursday night. This is not only some of the best food you can get, it is also some of the best bargains in South Florida. On this trip, we tried griot that comes with a choice of two sides. The pikliz is fresh and packs a punch, but the real star beyond the meaty pork chunks is the gravy, the gravy, the gravy!! Wow! I got this with plantains and artichokes with lemon aioli. The artichokes were outstanding. The plantains came with rock salt sprinkled all over them which ruined them for me. I will ask for no salt next time. The shrimp po boy was served with large fresh and perfectly fried shrimp. This was served with a spicy tartar. Great sandwich and ordered with some of the best fresh cut fries I've had in awhile. Any chicken sandwich is as basic as you can get, but even this is special at Blue Collar. The balsamic onion jam is tangy and delicious, and the Portuguese muffin is soft and perfect. These choices were finished with two delicious desserts. An incredibly moist fudgy chocolate cake and a butterscotch and heath bar bread pudding served with cayenne whip cream. Everything was delicious and we were absolutely stuffed. But when the waiter brought a lentil soup to our neighbor, it looked so good I couldn't help but order one to go. I am so glad I did. This soup was amazing with bits of beef brisket in the savory broth. If you haven't been to Blue Collar, put them at the top of your must go list. read more

Not only do they offer MS every day of the week (lunch and dinner) but you can literally pick anything of them menu (for dinner) AND it includes a alcoholic/non-alcoholic bev AND it's only $45. Like idk how they're making a profit. I got the shrimp and grits as my app (thanks to my server for the pro tip). The shrimp was fantastic, although the grits weren't my fav (probably just a personal preference -- there was nothing objectively wrong with them). It was def a starter portion, but still quite generous. For my entree I was in between the spare ribs special and the brown stew chicken and was encouraged to get the latter. I had it with kale and plantains and it was delicious. And a super generous portion. I took the bread pudding dessert to go (haven't tried it yet) but I bet it's delic. read more

First, we did go on a Friday afternoon, after the normal lunch rush. So we were seated immediately. Server came over to greet us and ask what we wanted to drink. I was craving a cheeseburger and fries and that's what I ordered. The burger was delicious and cooked just right. And the fries were also perfect. Just the right amount of crisp and they tasted delicious. If you're even in the mood for a burger, this is the place to go. Second time not a charm. $250 disappointment. First time we had trouble with the $50 dollar gift certificate from my daughter. Really left a bad feeling that they couldn't even handle a simple gift certificate that they created and sold. So can they handle the food? It was ok, but we weren't feeling it. Went this Saturday for brunch and as soon as we walked in you could tell they were under staffed. Maybe new location is too big for them to manage. We were seated took forever to get our order in even longer than we anticipated. Had to ask for silverware. Coffee to asking for three times and about 25 minutes to come. Kid through up in the dining room and they just threw a cloth napkin on it. English breakfast was way too spicy. Come on why would an English breakfast be even spicy. Pancakes burnt. Sent back twice and still came back burnt. I am sure they just put the original ones on another plate and brought them to me. Overall a disaster!!! I think this is a management issue. Can't get the right staff and lack of training in the kitchen and frontline. Oh well $250 is a big learning lesson on where not to eat. read more

For starters it's a small restaurants that gives it that homey feel, and then you try the food that also gives you that warm, comforting, homey taste! I set out to have brunch at the new location for Blue Collar, but was I greatly disappointed. I ordered the $29 Whitehouse which included fresh fruit, a pancake, a French, toast, egg, potatoes, bacon and sausage. Sounds delicious and something of value right? WRONG!! A huge chuck of bread for the French toast, the portion of fresh fruit could fit inside of a tablespoon, and the egg was barely 1 egg. OMG! Who serves 1 egg at a brunch?? Needless to say. Blue Collar has moved across the street to a bigger and nicer location. I wonder if this is recent or if I need to pay attention to my surroundings. The old place had its charm, but this new spot is much more comfortable and better with parking. I tried the original cheeseburger, and it was excellent the patty was perfectly cooked and juicy. "The Corbencito," a braised brisket sandwich, was tender and came with a delicious dipping jus. This is an option you must try if you are here. The only downside was the service, which was a bit slow, likely because the restaurant had just opened for lunch. Despite that, Blue Collar remains a solid choice for comfort food in Miami and is definitely worth a visit. read more

Even before they moved, they started slacking, but since they moved the Jacked prices up by probably double and are just god awful. I have tried to go three different times after they moved and I left every single time before i ate. Bad service, bad energy and from everyone I've spoken to the food takes forever now . I don't know who manages this place at this point but they shouldn't be allowed in this industry period. Such a shame what this place has become, but I'll never go back again. read more

I kept reading about Blue Collar and decided to make a trip - and I am so happy I did! First things first, the coffee is incredible - it's from Imperial Moto (one of my favorite coffee places in Miami), so it immediately gets points there. The menu is super varied and took me 10 minutes to read through and decide...and I am usually a decisive person. But I couldn't have been happier with my choice - I got the Italian Artichoke Benedict with a side salad and it was incredible. The portion was massive, so I ended up with leftovers! My friend Marc got the Adam's Deluxe Breakfast and inhaled it in minutes. We sat inside, which was very cute, and we enjoyed the service - they were friendly and very chill about us catching up and staying a little longer at the table than we probably should have. But when you have great coffee, food and service, it's hard to want to leave! Highly recommend for brunch.
