Five women visiting Miami from out of town, and unfortunately, Amor Miami was one of the most disappointing experiences of our trip. I made a reservation online and received confirmation. However, when we arrived, the host told us there were no regular tables available--only tables with bottle service. That left me wondering what the purpose of accepting and confirming our reservation was. Since there were no tables, all five of us paid approximately $22 each, including fees, just to enter. We received drink vouchers with admission. After entering, I asked about the minimum bottle price for a table and was quoted between $300 and $400. We agreed to purchase a $400 bottle, so I reasonably asked whether the approximately $100 we had just paid for admission could be refunded or applied toward the bottle-service table. The manager said they do not issue refunds. I then asked whether they could at least compensate us with a hookah. That request was also denied, and we were told to use the drink vouchers we had already paid for. In the end, we paid more than $100 in admission fees, plus approximately $400 for bottle service, with no adjustment or accommodation. Our server was pleasant whenever I was able to locate her, but she rarely came to the table to check on us. I understand that the lounge was busy, but customers spending that amount of money should receive attentive service without having to repeatedly search for their server. The bathrooms were also absolutely disgusting and became worse as the night progressed. There did not appear to be anyone monitoring or cleaning them throughout the evening. That is unacceptable for a venue presenting itself as an upscale lounge. I cannot say whether our age (40-50) played a role in the lack of attention, but as a group of slightly older women, we did not feel valued as customers. Amor Miami needs to improve its reservation system, communication, customer service, and cleanliness. If tables are unavailable, confirmed reservations should not continue to be accepted. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this lounge, and I will not return. read more

This was my first time checking out Amor although I've passed by tons of times. It's a really cute place once inside with nice ambiance that suits the name. We were there for happy hour so there were lots of drinks specials. We opted for the buckets and with a $50 spend you get a hookah. Our server was pleasant, maybe not the most attentive however but it wasn't much of an issue. The drawback for me was when we asked to purchase additional coals, we were told that's not an option but instead we'd have to get a refill which was $67. So that's the catch since essentially you would in fact be paying for two hookahs. That made no sense to any of us so we kindly declined. Paid our check and went around the corner to Victory for a $30 happy hour hookah. That may be something that should be revisited. read more

Came here for happy hour and it was definitely a vibe. During HH they have a special where you can get free hookah with a minimum purchase of $50. Loved the vibes and the decor. The hookah hit like it was supposed to. The food was on point and brought it up to a 4 star rating. The garlic parm wings were ok but I definitely recommend the mango habanero wings and the mozzarella sticks. I had an adult pouch; I think my drink was a head cracker. It was sweet with a little punch. Definitely enjoyed Did not love that you have to pre pay and on top of that there's an automatic service gratuity added. So you're basically paying for your food, drinks and gratuity without really receiving any services yet. Luckily our server was very nice bc usually for me the service lacks when a fee is automatically added. Also, you can't open a tab so you have to Order everything at once or if you decide you want more items later you will have to pay the fees again. If I had to guess I would say the owner is from NY. Also Did not love that water costs $10 or how small the Shirley temple was. So tiny and overpriced. One of my family found this place online with some pictures and some description info. We decided that it seemed like a place we would want to visit based only on these items. To sum it up, we were wrong. The pics and description online did not make it seem like it was an all out night club; it was! That was not really a big problem though. Where the true issue came in was in the service. They literally tell you the size of the drink that they are serving you; 9 oz. Other than beer, I had never seen that before. The problems started when they brought out these tiny - half full drunk cups with no ice. The cup may have been 9 ounces in size, but the drinks were definitely not 9 ounces. Subsequently, one of my party inquired about the issue. The response was initially somewhat hostile, and a bit belittling, ending with, "welcome to Miami". But, this person, who was the manager, did say she would offer up additional drinks to resolve the issue. The problem continued in-spite of the original issue being addressed. The drinks continued to come out less than half full. We decided to make the best of the night without letting this ruin our night in-spite of it ruining our experience. When people patronize a bar or night club, a very large part of the experience is purchasing spirits. Making that experience horrible is an atrocity to your customers. The food was edible, but extremely small portioned for the price. They do have a happy hour period on Sunday with lower priced drinks, and free hookah if your tab hits $50, but the hookah died super quick, and refill prices did not seem like refill prices. Amor has a nice vibe! It's on the outskirts of Wynwood so it did have a bit of a touristy feel to it. But regardless, the DJ played great music and the place was packed! If you don't do a reservation you most likely will have to stand at the bar as there are no bar stools. This is where I started my night so I didn't mind the standing. Made it just in time for happy hour. We were a party of 5. The person at the door was friendly and inviting. My friends and I were a bit confused about where we were and he let us know we had the right place and showed us how to get in. The vibe was very nice and the DJ was on point! DJ-KVON was there when I went (April 6th) and he was playing all the good jams. We were greeted by the hostess and she explained the happy hour specials and let us know that we had to order everything at once. Hopefully they eventually get a system to open up a tab. We definitely wanted to order more drinks but the thought of occurring the service charge and 4% card charge again made us change our minds. The complimentary hookah was great and very smooth. This establishment gets a 1-star because the service was not good. Half of the time we were looking for our server and had to ask other staff to get our server. Main reason- *BEWARE * they add a 24% charge to your bill (call it a house service fee) when asked what this charge was for- she said for the house. This was not a tip or go to any servers. So on top of that you are expected to tip your server 15-30%. This is not okay. They expected us to not ask for an itemized bill, or to question a 24% fee. We will not be back!
