It's just a typical diner like the ones you find everywhere but south florida. I was very happy to stumble up on this place. It was very busy but we were seated pretty quickly on a Sunday morning. We took a chance on this diner after checking out the reviews. When we got here, the place was hopping! The wait time was short, and our server took our orders pretty quickly. The food didn't come out at the same time, but it did come. We kinda wondered if they forgot about us, but they didn't. But holy smokes the food was absolutely delicious! Even better, the price was super reasonable. A welcome change from the standard 20% service fee on overpriced everything in South Beach. This is a charming place with a small town dinner feel. The food is made with fresh ingredients, well prepared, very tasty and its served quickly. The parking can be a bit challenging when it's busy, but it's not an inconvenience. The service is a toss-up. Sometimes the staff is very friendly and sometimes they just don't seem happy. On our last visit we were asked to move tables after we had already placed our ordered, all because they had a large party that needed our table and they didn't want them waiting. It pains me to write reviews like this but here goes. Hubby mentioned he'd like to take me to a local place he and coworkers frequented before he retired. We were promptly seated although the place was super busy. The place had an old diner feel and I thought.. ok I can go with this. I love a diner/greasy spoon as long as the food is good.. I ordered the Super Starter breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, grits and toasted Cuban bread (my request) and he had the Country girl - French toast, scrambled eggs and bacon. We both had a large orange juice to drink. Our waitress started off pleasant helping with choices since I was first timer. Here's where things got off track and I subtracted 1 star for each of these issues. 1. My food arrived ice cold (I like my food piping hot), hubby's was fine. The waitress agreed to heat my food in the microwave and it still came back lukewarm. I just decided to go ahead and eat it because I didn't think things would get any better. 2. There didn't seem to be any salt on my food whatsoever and I usually never have to add salt to any food. I'm talking specifically about the grits and eggs. Bacon naturally has salt in it and the bacon was fine. The salt shakers seemed to have been exposed to water because the salt barely came out. My husband's brioche French toast was pretty good. No complaints on this side. 3. We finished our meal and I kept waiting for the check to arrive. I finally had to ask someone to get our waitress and when that didn't work, I got up to ask someone to get her. I believe she saw me and then finally she brought our check. It took her a while to come back because I saw her greeting other customers. By the time she finally brought the check her attitude changed to cold and quiet. I usually overtip but this time I couldn't muster more than a $7 tip for the food and service. The bottom line is I shouldn't be able to cook better breakfast at home. This place may have been good once upon a time but it's just "meh" today. read more

This little diner is definitely on the corner and cozy. We found this little gem looking for breakfast not too far from the airport. Our server was great, very warm and welcoming. I had a hot café con leche and ordered the Country Girl with a side of potatoes. I have no idea why I thought I'd be able to eat all of that food; cue the to-go container. I like supporting my local establishments after all this is my community. I read a lot of history on this restaurant and due to the fact I guess they are primarily breakfast and lunch place it took me a while to find the time to go there. My first impression should have been enough to walk out and I should have. I walked in at 3:20PM. The lady at the pay area was on the phone, never acknowledged me. I was the only one there. Stood there for a while when the nice waiter finally noticed me. He told me the grill was already off. I turned around and that was when again I should have left. He talked me out of leaving and I ordered the meatloaf and mashed potato. The staff was nice but, the meatloaf had no taste very bland and it was served cold to me. The mashed potato's were bland clumped together like instant something. Absolutely terrible. When you turn off the grill you need to close your door. Very obvious the staff did not want to be there that day. Will not return to this place at all. Not sure how it has managed to survive operating like this...very disappointing experience. read more

I was in the area and decided to give them a try. They had told me there was always a wait on the weekends so I wasn't surprised. We didn't wait since they have first come first serve in their counter area. The service was good. Everyone was attentive. I had the Country Boy which brought eggs, sausage, bacon and Hotcakes. Had a really disappointing experience here. We were quoted a 10 minute wait for our group, but ended up waiting over 30 minutes while other people were seated ahead of us. During the wait, the servers were giving us dirty looks, which made the situation uncomfortable. Once seated, the food took a long time to come out. We were told they didn't have pickles, and when the chicken sandwich finally arrived, it had no condiments or salad at all just dry chicken and bread. My daughter's cheese had a finger nail imprint and my stepson had hair in his eggs. The portion of fries was also very small. To make matters worse, after we paid for our meal, the owner stepped outside and made us feel completely unwelcome. Overall, the service and food quality were both lacking. The wait after seated was very slow. I ordered the half order with link sausage. Hubby ordered the chicken fried steak and potatoes. My food was so cold. The sausage tasted as if it were precooked. The biscuit was very dense. My hubby's food was hot but he said not very flavorful.His home fries looked like leftover baked potato that was smooshes and fried. They made a mistake on an order and the waitress asked me to pay $2 for her mistake because management had deducted it from her wages. But what wasn't nice is that she first accused me of leaving without paying and then I got the truth out of her. Another time I went in with a mask. The waitress refused to give me and my son service because of Covid. Back when Restrictions were in place and their restaurant was empty, I was one of the very few that ate in their back yard tent. And now that I am having an episode, they refused service. Luckily the owners son didn't kick me out but gave me service with an angry face. So sad as to what happens here when the owner is not around. I've been dining at her restaurant for years and never had an issuenwith anyone. Hope she returns soon. read more

This little spot popped up on my suggestions for breakfast, so I went. If you have not visited the Miami Springs area, put it on your list. This area is a hidden gem that is sandwiched between the busyness of the industrial Hialeah side of the canal along Okeechobee Road to the north and the Miami International Airport along NW 36 Street to the south. The little city takes you back to the classy 1950's feel with well manicured homes and the delightful old downtown area near the circle. You will find niche shops and restaurants along with a few "modern" spots like Starbucks, Sushi Sake and others. Cozy Corner is located on the corner. Unlike so many areas around Miami and Miami-Dade County that nickle-and-dime you for insane parking fees, parking here is free along the street. When you enter, you will notice you are taken back in time with a great assortment of historic photos on the walls from decades past. It provides a cool ambiance and matches well with the open concept of the old-style dining and kitchen area. The tables and booths are comfortable with no frills, but who cares and you don't come here for that-- you come for the food. If you want a cushy place to sit and vibe, Starbucks is down the block. Personally, I like the vibe of Cozy Corner just fine. The menu provides great and varied selections of entre options. I was stuck between the Hungry Man Special and the County Fried Chicken Bowl. They are not similar meals, but both appealed very appetizing. The waitress was cordial and suggested the County Fried Chicken Bowl, so I went with that. I left the egg choice up to her as well, becauseIlikeeggs and will eatthem inany style. The meal arrived in a plain white generic serving bowl placed on a matching plain dinner plate. Eating utensils were clean. The food arrived hot-ish temperature-wise, but could have been a little hotter, as it seamed the chicken was not freshly prepared, but taken from "ready" stock and added. The eggs, over medium, were good and hot along with the potatoes as a base and the sawmill gravy (very good flavor). The cheese next to the chicken was not melted, because the chicken was barely just over warm. The overall flavor was very good, but unfortunately the mediocre temperature of the chicken really took the excitement of raising meal away. I opted to upgrade my toast to a pancake. The pancake was about 8" diameter, perfect in flavor and color, butter patties were cold and fresh, and the maple syrup was very good, flavourful and was not watered-down. I could eat a stack of those delicious pancakes next time. The coffee was average. The waitress was attentive, as she handled the entire dining room alone. If you are wanting to pop in, order, eat quick and run, ... add in an extra 20 minutes to your schedule. You do want to try this place; however, service is a tad slower than a typical breakfast spot where it is fast-paced and folks grab a bite and run to work or school ... not here. Take in the ambiance, enjoy your meal, then take on your day. I'll be back and will try that Hungry Man Special next time. Of the hicken had been fresh I would have rated this review higher. It was cute and i can't critique bc it's not really my style. They had Christmas paper wall decor that was kinda cute but also made the place feel a bit awk. The waitresses were so nice through and really accommodating to my grandparents. I also kinda liked that the mugs were mismatching I found it charming. The food was okay I mean I wouldn't go back for it and my mother had to ask for her biscuits and gravy to be microwaved three times because it was too cold and I guess all the food kinda tasted like it was sitting out for a bit or was sitting on the grill for a little too long.
