So after a long day looking at the cows in front of my office (the famous Miami Lakes Cow Field) I was really hungry! It's located in a strip mall in East Hialeah, and especially now in times of the Rona it is not fancy. As it were, I think it's been open since 1982 so that counts as an institution. They have a cashier outside taking orders, and I went to lounge in my car listening to my Freestyle station (just like the old days). I had my delicious cow ready to enjoy about 15 minutes later, and went home. As with most local places, the "completa" has a YUGE bed of moros (black beans and rice). The moros had the perfect amount of grease without being soggy. I ordered both the maduro (fried sweet plantain) and the tostones, and also took my mom some croquetas (she said they were very tasty to mention on "El Yelp" :) The tostones had a good crisp and the maduros nice and sweet as well. My churrasco was thick and juicy, and the chimichurri (two packets) definitely had a little bit of a kick. I love it when places don't skimp on sauce! Besides the sweetness of the plantains, I enjoyed their flan of course. It was a little firmer than jiggly, and had the right amount of sweetness. During normal times, it's supposed to be open 24 hours. I can definitely see myself stopping by (well having my Uber) drop me off after coming from a nearby brewery or a quick dinner after work. A living legend in Hialeah. Ambience literally looks like the Scarface movie. But the movie is delicious. The pan con bistec is amazing. So flavorful. The chicken milanesa can feed 2 villages. It's literally the largest chicken breast ever! The breading is light and had a nice thick slice of ham on it with the Marinera sauce. My husband talked about coming with his dad when he was a kid. La Casa Del Churrasco! The House of Skirt Steaks! I've never had their CHURRASCO but will definitely consider it the next time I visit. This restaurant is open 24/7! There's two areas to the restaurant; you can sit down and eat (waiter/waitress will attend your table) or you can just walk down the take-out isles, choose your protein and two sides. They have side salads available (I've only seen two options; small chicken breast salad and avocado salad. Normally the folks that come to this restaurant will choose a protein, choose rice as their first side (moro, congri, white, or yellow rice, then choose a second side which is usually fried sweet plantains (maduro). If you don't speak Spanish you will have a hard time communicating with the Cuban women that work here. I'm pretty sure no one within the walls of this restaurant speak English. This is a Cuban restaurant/food by the pound joint therefore all the workers are typically Cuban. They have plenty of desserts ready to go for your sweet tooth. The food here is always fresh and delicious. There's plenty of parking inside the shopping center where the restaurant is located. There's even more parking available after hours because it's the only 24/7 spot within the shopping center (although I think there's a nearby laundromat that might be open late as well). I usually go for the healthier options instead of the deep fried food items. I've never eaten in the sit down section of the restaurant. I normally grab my food to go when I visit this restaurant. Again, they're open 24/7 so Taco Bell will never be an option for fourth meal (ok, there's nothing wrong with a Steak Quesadilla, Chalupa, Cheesy Gordita Crunch, or even a Doritos Locos Taco every once in a while for fourth meal). I personally have never had a bad experience here. I'm very straight to the point and the workers here sense that. I'm in and out and the service they provide allows me to do just that. Will continue to visit this restaurant for a quick bite (even during late night hours or should I say early morning hours of the day). 20 years ago I would come here to eat with my family for a quick lunch, but after a few years we felt it went downhill a bit. Recently, the guy I was dating took me for an "after club meal" & it's perfect for it. We had a Cuban sandwich & the pan con bistec. Don't expect 5-star service, the servers ask for your order & just leave. They don't check in after they take your food. But for 3am, I didn't really care for all that anyways. read more

This place has gone so downhill since the last time we were here. The service we got from our waitress brings shame to the profession. Just to get it out of the way we tipped her because we come from a family of servers and we would never leave an establishment, bad as this was without tipping. But really the whole time and mean every single second of our time here the waitress was on her phone ON SPEAKER. She even apologized to the person she was on the phone with when we interrupted her by requesting her attention. The place is old and is an undesirable atmosphere. We had mariquitas for appetizer but they were greasy. My husband ordered a churrasco with rice and bean plus plantains. I had the vaca frita with rice and beans and flan for dessert. The meat was excellent the rice was good the flan was great the beans were not to our liking and the plantains were dry. This restaurant was delicious. Everything was freshly made even at 10:30 PM. The Churrasco was sooo soft, thick, and perfectly cooked. It tasted amazing, and paired well with the moro or with white rice. I had the tostones, and they were thick and crispy. The meat cane with two sauces, one soft of a mojo sauce with garlic, and the other a chimichurri. They were both delicious, and they didn't mind giving me a few extra. The churrasco was big, too, so I shared it with someone. If you go, you must try this. The rabo encendido was another one that was perfectly cooked and paired well with maduros (sooo sweet) and moro. Crema de malanga was super good as an appetizer or a main entree too. Basically, everything on the menu was fresh and tasty. However, the server had a huge attitude problem. There were 2 servers who you could tell were fighting with each other. Really annoying cause it brought our good mood down. Since the food was so good I'm still giving it 5 stars. read more

The restaurant is not fancy, it looks like a cafeteria but nobody else can't beat a churrasco for $11.00 or a good steak cuban style for 8 bucks served with moros y cristianos(black beans and white rice) yuca frita or tostones. The churrasco was really tasty, tender and juicy, service was fast, it's a not pretentious typical latin restaurant with a few tables and lots of good dishes for a low price, most of the prices are under 10 dollars and you can even have a good luch(daily special) for under $7. Good Food, Good Service, Reasonable price. I have Vesa Frita. (I think) which is shredded beef flank stake topped with grilled onions. It was marinated to a perfection and grilled (or fried) crispy. It was great. I am not sure if there was any health part of this meal, but if there was one, it was emotional satisfaction with great tasting food. I grew up in Hialeah, and had been here many times before but always ordered breakfast or a sandwich. Always loved everything I've had there so last night i took my bf because he's never been. It was the first time i ordered dinner there and omg, i was not disappointed. My bf ordered their famous churrasco with blk beans and rice, and i ordered a pollo a la milanesa with tostones and a salad.... i have never seen such a huge piece of chicken before and the taste was amazing. The tostones were freshly cooked and yummy. And i tried my bf's churrasco and even though I'm not a steak person, next time we go, i will def order it for me! He took a bite and said "omg this is the best steak ive ever had". That good, people. If you've never been there, i suggest you try them. And order dinner.
