    Seafood Cake Dinner

OH. MY. HEAD. I have always loved soul food and have been to many, many spots through the years but Lil Greenhouse Grill... this spot takes the cake (errr... I mean Cobbler!). I was in the neighborhood with my father and wanted somewhere for lunch. I'd ordered delivery before but never stopped in, and WOW, am I glad I finally did. LGhG is on the corner of NW 3rd Ave & NW 13th St. A small, inviting spot painted in sage green with paintings of legends like Bob Marley on the wall & hip-hop playing in the background. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Shania (our hostess and waitress), who was such a delight and absolute pleasure. My dad settled in front of the TV to watch college football while we dove into the menu. So many tempting choices! I landed on the shrimp & grits, he went with the chicken & waffles, and we shared mac & cheese plus collard greens (made with smoked turkey). Every single bite was an absolute flavor BOMB. My dad, who went to college in South Carolina, kept saying he hadn't had authentic southern food like this in over 50 years. We even met the owner, Nicole, whose huge smile and warm energy made us feel right at home. For dessert, we couldn't resist the peach cobbler... just as heavenly as you'd imagine. You can really taste the heart and soul in every dish here. Hands down my new favorite comfort food spot and right in the heart of historic Overtown. For this Miami girl, it doesn't get better than this. Can't wait to be back again & again!

My sis suggested this location for her birthday. I hadn't been nor did I have any expectations so I wasn't left super disappointed. But I was underwhelmed for sure. We got here for happy hour, but there's no actual happy hour menu besides the sign out front. You have to ask what the menu includes. Once I remembered everything included, We started with the shrimp and I had the seafood cake for appetizers. The shrimp were seasoned but overly which made them salty. The "krab" in the seafood cake is imitation crab meat. Definitely wasn't a fan. I had two different sangrias for my beverage. Pretty decent. Several things on the menu were unavailable so I opted for the half bbq chicken for my entree with collards and black eyed peas for my sides. The collards were pretty good. The black eyed peas were just ok. The bbq chicken was smoked and the flavors were definitely present. My fav thing I had there. But while we were eating a roach crawled across the wall by our table right behind my sis' head. She grabbed some napkins to kill it so it didn't crawl into her bags on the chair. She waved our server Shania over who I must add was very sweet and did her best. By the time she made it over a second one crawled out. Our appetites were ruined so we asked for the check. The owner came over to apologize and say she was taking off 10% and asked if we wanted boxes since we had majority of our food left still. We declined so she took an additional 10% off. I appreciate the damage control , but overall I doubt I'd return.

Stopped here before going to a heat game. It didn't disappoint. Smoked ribs along with the sides were great. Good size portions too. Along with the friendly staff i would recommend this restaurant. Will be back.

Ummm HECK NO!!! MEMO: If you see a review made by me it will always be authentic and detailed. I pride myself in being real in my reviews. I have a deep passion for exploring diverse culinary traditions and savoring dishes from various cultures and ethnic backgrounds. With that being said these are my own opinions based off what my taste buds react to and I will always write my truth. I do not write reviews based off of anyone's opinions, and customer service is a big portion of my review of any establishment! Why is customer service such a huge thing for me? you may ask... because good customer service is like the secret sauce.... without it, everything falls apart. It keeps customers coming back for more, makes them have a great dining experience, and also helps an establishment stand out. Plus, when things go wrong (and they will), good service can turn a disaster into "Hey, at least they were nice about it!". Moving on besides the customer service the food is mid here by far. I've wanted to try this place out for a while now, but I really do not understand the hype at all! It's just not that good! This place is in Over-town, the area has been extremely gentrified btw. Moving on so I drove here after going to my orthodontist appointment in Miami since I was already in the area, and was truly disappointed. Let me tell you what went down! I was greeted by a sweet young lady named Kimoni. She was the only waitress during the time I was there. She was serving three tables and also working the front desk as the greeter, and sitting the customers to their table. Mind you I didn't think anything of it, because she was doing such a fantastic job. The owner stepped out and literally greeted all tables but mine. Mind you I came alone to dine. I was saying to myself what is wrong with this lady as if I stole her baby or something lol. I am never expecting the owners to ever come to greet me they don't know me from a can of paint and i'm a regular customer, but if you are greeting every single person in the restaurant and at the bar , but you are singling certain people out then I start to question your character. After I got my food I still waited to see what was about to go down the lady passed me bout 4x also I did not stay long I felt uncomfortable asked the waitress for my check and a box. Idk why I asked for a box cause the food was mid and was not going to make great leftovers, I paid and then went to the bar just to ask the waitress was that the owner when she confirmed I grabbed my bag and dipped. So let me tell you about the food people! What I Ordered ______________________ Baked Mac & Cheese: 5/10 This was brought out piping hot! Must admit there were great layers of cheeses throughout and it was very creamy, but it somehow still lacked flavor. Idk it needed more salt. The noodles weren't too soft though and the crust on top of the mac and cheese was golden and perfect. This was a good run for a classic soul food side of mac and cheese, but baby this did not hit for me. They need to come harder! Collard Greens: 8.5/10 For me this was the best thing I ate from there. I'm being so serious! The greens were not too salty. Had great depths of flavor and was cooked perfectly in my opinion. Cornbread: 3/10 I am not a cornbread connoisseur, but I've had a few in my time. This ain't that! The cornbread is way too crumbly. No moisture at all. Yes, it has a nice and golden exterior, but it does not melt in your mouth. This has got to be one of the worst cornbreads i've ever had. Lemonade: 2/10 The lemonade was not good at all. It was extremely sweet and tasted like some powder mix. I was not satisfied at all! BBQ Ribs: 6/10 Served Fresh! The meat was literally falling off the bone. The flavors were overpowering and was way too sweet for my liking. This was a no for me. The portion size was large and the presentation was really nice, but I would not recommend this. Overall Experience: 4/10 Customer Service: 3/10 Will I Return? : NO! This establishment has been Tamied ™

Nice little restaurant, very clean && welcoming.... The food was pretty ok... the salmon was a bit small && dry && I didn't like anything about the rib tips. But the conch balls were awesome, nice texture && flavorful. The wings were also a favorite especially the sauce. The sides (mac&&cheese && the collard greens are what I came for && they didn't disappoint, loved them. They didn't have any cocktails (I should've checked beforehand) but said they'll be opening a bigger location that will serve them. The service was great we were the only other 2 ppl in there so they were very attentive. Only thing is the couple across from us had items I didn't see on the menu that looked great && when I mentioned to the server he said that's from the seasonal menu (didn't even tell us about it!) && it looked a bit more appetizing....

We ended up here via Groupon and we were not ready for how delicious the food would be. The space is intimate and the staff are so kind!! The highlight were the garlic Parmesan chicken wings. That seasoning was amazing. I enjoyed my shrimp and grits. They had a good ratio of heat to grits. My husband had the ribs and the sauce was delightful. We finished the night off with the peach cobbler which was quite a treat. I definitely recommend for a cute date night!

Smoked BBQ Ribs and Corn Bread with Baked Mac N Cheese and Candied Yams
    Nate G.

We found this restaurant after a day at the beach. I ordered the smoked ribs and they were very tasty. The were slathered in bbq sauce and mustard and were filling. The baked Mac n cheese was fantastic. The candied yams were also tasty with a nice amount of cinnamon. My wife enjoyed her grilled salmon as well. The restaurant is family owned and run. It started as a food truck, but is now a fully functioning restaurant. The ambiance was cool and the service was great. I recommend to anyone in the area looking for some good southern cooking.

A cozy little restaurant in Overtown with great food! We started with the seafood cakes and the conch fritters! Both were good but I lovd the conch fritters! I ordered the smoked wing dinner with the mango habanero sauce on the side! It was hot! Luckily I had another sauce to dip my wings in. I also had the mashed potatoes and the macaroni and cheese! Everything was delicious! My friend had a salad with grilled shrimp. She said it was good! My meal also came with corn bread, which was so good! We were too full to try their dessert but we will be back to try their banana pudding. They also had a snapper special and a lobster special which both sounded great! BTW, they also have a small parking lot in front of the restaurant!

    Peach Cobbler Chef's Kiss

Hey everyone I just want to give a review for The Lil Greenhouse Grill. I was in the neighborhood and had a taste for soul food. This was take-out. I ordered short ribs tips, BBQ Chicken dinner with mac & cheese, cornbread & collards. Cornbread comes with the meal and it was on point. . I also ordered lemon pepper chicken with yams & collards. And Peach Cobbler. I was hungry. Again, smelling home cooked food wafting throughout the restaurant. Wonderful. Nicole the owner took my order truly a Boss Lady. I waited a 1/2 hr. for the take-out but it was worth it. The short rib tips were great the BBQ sauce was tasty with a slight smokiness to it; the meat was tender and flavorful. Loved it. Next, I finally got the 1/2 BBQ chicken dinner with mac & cheese and collards. The collards were tender, the mac & cheese was very cheesy and the chicken was moist and tender. The BBQ sauce was the same as the rib tips. Mmmmm I'm licking my fingers couldn't help it. Now for the lemon pepper chicken, it had a real lemony flavor with a little heat to it. Not so much as spicy very mild. The yams have a cinnamon nutmeg flavor. All good. The Peach Cobbler was fantastic! Nicole told me it just came out of the oven. Had to try that right away and boy it didn't disappoint. The Peach Cobbler reminded me of my grandma's Cobbler; it took me back to my childhood. Should've bought two. Warm Crispy breaded edges, sweet caramelized peaches just the best. Now I can describe the food, but a pic is worth 1,000 words. Just take a look and don't salivate too much. I give it a 5-star review everything was perfect. Y'all check out the Lil Greenhouse Grill ya here. You won't be disappointed

This spot has the feel of "home". You definitely tell it's a part of the community. They take pride in getting it right from the service (waitress was amazing very detailed oriented), the ambiance (music spot on, with great wall art), and yes food chefs kiss. You will enjoy this spot, I encourage you to stop in if you're in the area.

The customer service and ambiance is all on point . Definitely will reel you in . But unfortunately the food just doesn't have that spunk of flavor. Ordered the seafood cakes to start off 8/10. The green beans seemed like they were warmed up from the can . THE MAC AND CHEESE AND SHRIMP AND GRITS HAD NO FLAVOR. The greens were alright. Bbq chicken was just regular bbq chicken . Cornbread was good .

I've visited the new location several times, and this visit reminded me how much a restaurant can decline when the service no longer matches the reputation. The food itself was good, but the service was extremely disappointing from the moment we sat down. Our waiter seemed very disconnected and out of touch the entire evening. He repeatedly referred to me and my girlfriend as "guys." I corrected him and said, "We're not guys, we're women," and instead of simply apologizing, he responded by saying, "That's just a term I use. I always say hey guys." That alone already left a bad impression because professionalism and basic respect still matter. At one point, he offered me an extra plate, which I accepted so I could move my spinach over. The moment I looked down, I saw what appeared to be a facial beard hair on the dish. I was immediately disgusted knowing I almost ate someone else's facial hair. I called the waiter over, and while he apologized, the overall response afterward felt dismissive. The issue was never about paying the bill or replacing a side item. It was about cleanliness, professionalism, and customer care. Finding facial hair on a plate at a restaurant of this caliber is completely unacceptable. The GM came over to speak with me, but honestly, it felt more like they were trying to smooth the situation over rather than genuinely address how unacceptable it was. As someone who has lived in the Brickell area for 15 years and supported this restaurant since its original location, it's disappointing to say that I will never return. It's sad watching a place you once genuinely enjoyed decline because the service and attention to detail are no longer there. I would never come back to this establishment again, and honestly, I would encourage others not to either unless they're comfortable risking facial hair ending up in their food. The fact that I almost digested someone's facial hair, I can't even get past that.

What an experience…read more I had heard about Tam Tam from friends and had been on my radar for a while. This is a place for which you basically need a reservation, and they are not easy to come by. We ended up visiting at 5:30 p.m. to be able to grab a spot, and since before the restaurant opens, you can see people waiting for their reservations. You are first greeted at a window outside the restaurant, and as soon as you walk in, you are transported. The music, the decor, the aromas -- it feels like you are someplace else. A great atmosphere to enjoy a meal with your partner or with small groups of friends. I do want to highlight that the service was spotless since that first greeting at the window, to getting you to your table, going over the menu, and explaining the concept; they made sure we had a great experience throughout the meal. But what really sets Tam Tam apart is the food. The menu is short but accommodating, with options for everyone. Small dishes go for around $20 each, while large dishes go for around $40; you can expect to spend around $40-50 per person on food. We tried the Lotus salad, the Shimeji Mushroom, the wings, and the "wrap situation". I would say they were all +4.5 stars. Each of the dishes offered a unique flavor profile, not only amongst them but also from other restaurants you will try, making it truly a remarkable experience. At Tam Tam, you can notice their attention to detail; each dish is carefully crafted, balancing freshness, textures, spice, all combining in an explosion of flavor in your mouth. All in all, go on Resy right now and book a spot. Tam Tam is definitely a worthy experience. My Criteria 5 stars: The best food I have ever had, or an excellent option given the price. 4 stars: Good food, a restaurant I look forward to trying again. 3 stars: Good food, a restaurant that I am indifferent to. 2 stars: Below average experience, will not go again. 1 stars: This restaurant should be closed.

Even the live lobster display when you first walk in adds to the whole experience. The service was exceptional everyone from the hostess to the waitstaff was warm, attentive, and incredibly accommodating throughout the night. The food was outstanding from start to finish. We especially loved the cured salmon and the hamachi crudo, both incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. My favorite cocktail of the night was the Oaxaca, which was just as impressive visually as it was flavor-wise. Between the rooftop ambiance, waterfront views, amazing presentation, and overall energy, this spot absolutely captures the perfect Miami vibe. Definitely one of my favorite dining experiences while visiting Miami.

The happy hour menu is surprisingly grounded for this part of the city, offering some of the best prices I've seen in Miami recently--averaging $10-$12 for a mixed drink. While my friend sampled a few of the more complex options, I stuck to my standard Ranch Water, which was delivered perfectly. The service stood out here. The bartenders operated as a highly coordinated team, moving fast and effectively to manage a busy crowd without losing the ability to make personal connections through conversation. It's a level of efficiency you don't always see at high-volume rooftops. While we didn't stay for a meal, the lobster and King Crab tanks you see upon entering are a clear highlight and a nod to the quality of the kitchen. If you're looking for a supportive environment to catch a sunset with a clean drink in hand, this is a top-tier choice in the Edgewater area.
