We spoke with several companies, both big national providers and smaller local ones, and ultimately went with Securimax. What stood out was their local presence and the hands-on approach, especially from Jack, the CEO. The installation itself was fairly involved and took most of the day, but everything was handled smoothly and professionally. Since then, their service has continued to impress. They're very responsive whenever we have questions and have been flexible in helping us adjust or expand the system as our needs evolve. Overall, it's been a really positive experience.

The installer showed up late, seemed completely unprepared, and didn't even know how the system was supposed to work. Sensors were crooked and one camera works only sometimes. When I asked about it, I was told "that's how I was told to do it" and "most people think it's ok". The system went offline multiple times, including once while we were out of town. What's the point of paying for the services if it doesn't work when you need it most? Customer service is a joke. Calls go unanswered and when someone finally responds, they act like you are the problem. Every issue was blamed on my internet, my phone, or "user error," even though the system wasn't working rights from day one. How is it my fault when the app says that a camera is offline? What am I supposed to do but contact them. I pay them monthly for the service, so if something says it is not working then I think it's reasonable to say I can call them. What is not reasonable is for there to be no customer service when the system is malfunctioning. To make matters worse, I was locked into a contract and threatened with cancellation fees instead of offered real support or a fix. If you care about your safety, your money, or your sanity, stay far away from this company. I regret ever signing up. I thought I was doing good by going with a small company, but I should have called ADT, Vivint, or someone bigger.

From the initial design conversations, to install, and finally the hand-off and training on the system, you won't beat the level of professionalism here. These guys clearly know their craft and care about their customers! Our home is running on Control4, and while there's a bit of a learning curve at first once you start to understand what it can do it's an incredibly powerful system. Control4 essentially acts as the operating system for your home, allowing you to control lighting, audio, video, pool, climate, security, and more from one interface. So instead of juggling a dozen different random apps, Control4 integrates all of your devices and apps into a single platform so the whole house functions as one cohesive ecosystem. Ultimately, what really made the experience stand out, though, was absolutely the AHS team. Technology is only as good as the people who design and install it, and these guys were knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about what they do. Install was clean, the training thorough, and they've held our hand every step of the way. The tech texted me two photos. When I called with a question, he was rude, told me I was no longer a customer, and a tech call would cost $69. He instructed me to enter a box, unplug certain wires, etc. Are you kidding me? If this is how Smith Thompson treats former customers...look elsewhere! Note that they have five star reviews from years ago, but things have changed. Customer service is the name of the game and they don't practice it.

Yes, yes, I know they suck, but I wanted to get a baseline price from them before I started out on my own. I dont have a home phone, so I knew it would need to include the wireless portion. ADT sales people are high pressure and annoying. Besides the fact they dont know a thing about security systems. They only know sales. Anyway, they quoted me 65 a month and a required 2 years contract. I laughed.... I hung up. Next, I hit yelp and start asking around to friends. No friends had a security system installed but one and he is a DYI guy. So then I searched Yelp I found Central Security sitting quietly in the top 5 hits and figured I would give him a call. Brandon answered the phone. Nice guy. Laid back. And his website seemed to really convey his knowledge of security systems. He showed up the next day and got to work. My system was new, but the board wasn't compatible. No problem. He installed a new board for the system and updated the codes. Rerouted the system to call the monitoring company and I was done! I had some cat issues with the room sensor in the following days. Not his fault, they climb and such. Not only did he remove it and fill the wiring hole, but he also didn't charge me a thing. Only cost up front were the key fobs and wireless communication. Total per month, 30 bucks WITH wireless. No contract, just two months notice before cancelling. Great guy, excellent work. Glad to be supporting a local business instead of a mega crook like ADT. And for you girls out there, he is cute too :)

They left me with audio not syncing to lips and I had to spend a considerable amount of time playing with the marantz amp, Gemini AI and tv to 'fix it'. My Bravío 9 tv picture and adjustments might have been configured. Or not. Who knows? I don't use this space a lot so was looking for a turn key solution. I had suggested another amp and they said you get this one without telling me why I wanted it. I ended up researching and overall the wattage is better and the receiver is better for my system but no one took the time to communicate the why on equipment. I felt like they were a better option then Best Buy install but ultimately left lacking. If I have a question today about the system i wouldn't feel comfortable reaching out with questions. Cris worked with me to design a Ubiquiti system that fit our needs and budget and made multiple recommendations to make sure our needs were met without inflating cost. He then outfitted our 12,000sq ft warehouse with Wifi, magnetic door locks, complete camera coverage inside and out, and configured our console, switch, and NVR so it was up and running right out of the gate. During all of this we were actively setting up the warehouse with heavy machinery, racks, and workstations and Cris had no problem working with and around us so there was no interruption in our daily operations. His knowledge was invaluable in evaluating products and general IT configuration. He was always on time and stayed in contact regarding re-scheduling when there were multiple roadblocks on our end - like not having a ramp to get the lift outside. I would highly recommend Fusion for any IT installs.
