Although they were backed up with orders, the nice employee accepted my need and allowed me to bring in my phone. My phone was repaired within a couple of hours. Although the total cost was $324, I accepted the cost due to needing my phone. It's so sad that I was dependent on my phone working; like I couldn't function without it. I gave this establishment 5 stars because they repaired my phone where others couldn't. If I ever have another phone problem, I'll definitely return to their shop.

Being generous with the extra star. I called ahead of time and spoke with Jay or Jacob. I explained…read moreI had a Gen 1 Microsoft Surface Book and the battery was swelling and splitting the case. He was unsure about the parts so I looked up the battery for it and gave him the part number. It was about $30-$50. He appreciated the effort, quoted me $150 to get the job done and said to bring it by so they could log it in. I live in Dripping Springs so I told him I'd make time to get it over to them as they were about an hour's drive from me. The next day I get the laptop to their storefront. A guy at the desk looked over the laptop and brought it to the back. He came back and said his manager was going to quote $250. I let the front desk person know that the price quoted was $100 less. He replied that Jacob was "just a tech" and that his manager's price was what they'd honor. I asked for his manager's name and was told it was Joaquin. I wasn't too happy about the "bait and switch" they just pulled on me but they already had me all the way across town at that point in time. I felt like a chump. The front desk person was having trouble getting the laptop logged in to their computer system and had his manager "Joaquin" come to the front to help him. Joaquin wouldn't even look at me or say hello or even acknowledge my presence. I just stood there quietly. I never said one word to this person. I was feeling like this guy was gouging me on the price and that I also felt that he knew full well that $200 was him being way overcompensated, possibly personally, for a battery replacement. Joaquin just snubbed me, turned his back on me and then walked away. I asked Front Desk Person if I would be getting a detailed receipt showing the amount I paid for the battery and how much they were charging me for labor. He told me no. I would receive a receipt for the full price to include labor and parts. Of course this obscures what I'm paying for labor and parts. No mention of going through insurance or anything else. Front Desk Person just kept his eyes focused downward. The guilt at what they were doing was evident. He also proceeded to charge me $60 + tax for an "advanced non-mobile troubleshooting fee totaling $64.94. He said that was just in case I failed to pick up my laptop. What in corn-dog hell? I'm already feeling like a fool getting fleeced and they're just sticking it in and twisting it now. So, I need the laptop and the swollen battery is a fire hazard so I'll go ahead and let them pluck me like a chicken. I paid the $65 and I will pay the rest of their fees IN A MONTH which was the time they said that they could have it ready by. But I will never recommend them to anyone ever. This was a classic BAIT AND SWITCH where everything is all rosy and positive until I (the patsy in this crime drama) makes his drive out to get the job done and then gets stuck with an astronomically high bill after the fact with a take it or leave it attitude. Oh, I'll pay your fees but you've made an enemy out of me. Never again.

If I could give iTech 10 stars I would. Note: THIS IS NOT A PAID OR SOLICITED review…read more A bit of background... I've been having issues with my Samsung phone where the phone will be fully charged and less than 4 hours later, while only on standby, be totally dead. On Saturday, I took the phone to The Best Buy (I originally purchased the device at a Best Buy) in Round Rock, which is the only one of their stores in the Austin area that services the device. The "technician" tested my device and said the battery was fine and they couldn't replace it because it past their "thorough test". Not one to take things at face value, I went over to iTech in the Domain. The technician was knowledgeable and pleasant and agreed there was something up with the phone. He opened up the device (with me standing there) and to both of our surprise the battery was swollen to twice it's correct size and ready to explode. Remember all those people who couldn't get on airplanes last year because their Galaxy Note 7's were ticking time bombs?...yeah like that! New battery installed and I've had zero issues with it since. Apparently, Best Buy's rigorous test was to ask "is it a battery?" and if the answer is "yes" it passes. I will NEVER give Best Buy my business again. Not only did they fail to correctly diagnose the issue with my device but they let me walk out the door with a device that could have caused physical harm or fire damage. (and yes, I'll be leaving them a review also.) So, in short, bring your device to iTech in the domain with the confidence that it's in good hands. Best Buy....I hope Amazon puts you out of business.

I brought my GameCube into this shop expecting a straightforward diagnostic and repair. I was initially told that I would receive an update relatively quickly. Instead, I spent over three weeks chasing them down myself, making multiple calls just to get any kind of status update. Communication was essentially nonexistent unless I initiated it. When I finally did get a response, I was told they couldn't even properly assess the system because they didn't have the correct visual cables to test a GameCube. That alone was surprising--how does a repair shop accept a console they aren't equipped to test? It gets worse. When I arrived in person, Devin D told me that they had been able to see the GameCube working while it was in the shop. This directly contradicted what I had just been told over the phone. So which is it? Either the system was tested successfully, or it wasn't even viewable due to missing equipment. The inconsistency felt dishonest and left me with zero confidence in anything I was being told. At that point, I asked for a refund due to the lack of progress and the conflicting information. I was told that a manager would follow up with me regarding the refund, but given the pattern of poor communication and contradictory statements, I have little faith that will actually happen without further effort on my end. Overall, this was a disappointing and unnecessarily stressful experience. Between the long delays, lack of basic equipment, and inconsistent explanations, it felt like my time--and trust--were not respected. In hindsight, I would have been better off attempting the repair myself or going elsewhere. I strongly recommend others think twice before bringing their devices here.
