However, there was a taste that wasn't bad, just different. Almost citrus or sour but not heavy with lime. Not sure I'd order again, but again, not bad Kids cheese enchiladas: big portion and fully stuffed with cheese. Was really good actually! It wasn't stringy, which is an auto deduction for me. Cheese should be creamy in an enchilada. No comment on refried beans, i don't prefer them. Rice, while o really liked it, it was heavy on the veggies (green onions, bell peppers, tomatoes) Beef fajita al carbon: don't think I've been served al carbon this way, it was pleasing to the eye. The beef was tender and perfectly cooked. Topped with their white queso. I enjoyed the texture and flavor, but.... There is a lingering flavor. Not smoke, maybe charred. Whatever they did, they could omit that and it would've been 100%. Charro beans were great, soft and flavorful. For me, rice was fantastic. I loved the carrots, peppers, green onions, etc. delicious Forgot chips and salsa! Chips were the perfect crisp with the right consistency to be a great vessel for salsa. The salsa.... The food is great, but the service is even better. The staff came by multiple times, guessed my needs before they came out (more napkins, more salsa, etc) and my food and super cold Modelo with a frosty mug came out super fast. It was a Sunday around 3:30 and they were not busy so maybe that's why, but it was superb and I'll definitely be back. I ate out on the patio and watched the traffic while taking in some fresh air. The waiter was very attentive. when you walk in the restaurant, it's real dim, cozy and then there's a patio in the back. when you walk to the patio it's more like a outdoor oasis With plenty of seating. The chips and salsa is really good. The salsa was not spicy but lack something. I can't say what it lacked, although it was good. Whatever it was lacking, if it was added it would've taken it up a notch. The nachos were good. The enchiladas and crispy taco was good. The rice and beans were great. Originally, I was going to go to the other Mexican restaurant across the street and something told me to turn the other way and I did and I'm glad I did. Everybody was nice and welcoming. We started with a cup of queso and it was so good. The salsa was absolutely amazing! It was really fresh too like they just finished cooking it when they brought it to our table. We ordered the combo fajitas, beef and chicken. They were really good everything that came with. It was good. The person helping us was Elizabeth. She was very kind. This place used to be a bit up scale it's no longer that. Around 5 pm we took my MIL to enjoy nice food and good conversation we thought it would be a good idea but not for what we were looking for. I suppose this is a great place for people that love loud, music, drinks, and fast service. So if that's what you're looking for this is the place. Besides there's a pub that you can go to if you want to keep going. We did see big families so accommodating to big crowds is their thing too. If I was who I was 12 years ago this would be the right place so I would give it a five star rating but because things change and people change....key word CHANGE I would give it a 3. But if I'm being fair a 3.5 would be ideal. Gave it a 4 because my expectations are my own but the place works for the crowds. read more

The food was very flavorful and filling. My sister and I got fish tacos and chicken tinga tacos and split them. Both were great.

Started with the Queso Flameado. This had onions and a few other ingredients. It's tasted pretty good. Then the beef enchiladas. Those were good but seasoned a bit too heavy. Had a margarita here and it tasted fine. The place is big. What did it for he was that my daughter and I were waiting a while to be served, then a big group came in and they were served almost immediately. That put a damper on the entire night. read more

We were visiting from our home in Las Vegas. Blue Agave was close to our hotel so we chose convenience. Having lived in California I grew up loving good Mexican food. Sadly, I can't give this restaurant a great rating. First, the prices were quite high which is OK if the food warrants it, the food didn't. I had beef tacos with fajita style meat. In one taco the meat was really tough and had tendons. I literally couldn't chew it. The rice was crunchy! I could say tough, but it was dry and crunchy is the best term. It was like the rice sat under a heat lamp for a long time. The beans were ranchero style and were pretty good but they added pepper to it (Serrano) and it was a little spicy, the same with the guacamole. My wife had shredded chicken tacos and felt they were pretty good. I wanted to like this place. It had good, friendly service and out back they had a beautiful patio. Sadly, they nice ambiance and friendly service didn't overcome the other short comings. read more

Food was good, large portions. The wait staff was very nice. When we walked up to the entrance I made a comment it was a bit trashy and not welcoming. A sign on the building was broken and only half was there. The inside was nice, we sat outside and tables were old and wood splitting, definitely can't be cleaned between guest. I think there used to be a waterfall but is now all weeds. There were 2 tall tables by the empty fountain and were trashy looking and I can't imagine anyone would sit at them. The bottom of the outside bar was rotted out looking like critters would go in it. They just really need to take a few days and have junk hauled away, grass planted and fill in fountain w sand for kids to play in. Needs some serious help with pride in ownership or people will not come. I don't think we will go back without changes. read more

Perfect for a date night or any other night. If you enjoy midday margaritas, they have a kickass margarita special. $3 at three, $4 at four, and $5 at five. There's also other happy hour drink specials and food specials. Combined with their daily bar specials, there's some good deals to take advantage of. I do enjoy how they have some more infrequent options on the menu such as ribs and seafood options like mahi mahi, and snapper. The cilantro rice is to die for. I highly recommend the mahi special, which includes scallops and mahi-mahi, topped with a delicious cream based sauce. It was pure perfection! Definitely worth checking out! read more

When our food arrived, the beef fajitas were loaded with onions. The rice and beans also had onions on top. The rice was cold and brittle .The fajitas were just OK. They only gave us two tortillas each for the fajitas so we had to ask for more. The corn tortillas are tiny, they are like mini tortillas. When they refilled our ice tea glasses, they poured steaming hot tea into the glasses, all ice melted, and they did not refresh the ice. No need to go back, there are lots of restaurants in Houston to pick from. Way too many onions on everything. $52 was a bit pricey for the lack of quality. read more

I have been here for lunch a handful of times with work friends. Its pretty popular, and the service has always been very good. There is outside seating available. The chips and salsa are great and I can highly recommend the shrimp tacos and tortilla soup. One time I tried the grilled artichoke salad and I did not like it, the waitress was so nice and took it off the bill! I didn't ask her to, she just noticed that I wasn't eating it. The ambiance is amazing with a cute cantina feel nestled in the corner next to a pub, except for the fact that the lighting is very dim. It needs to be turned up from a 1 to a 7 or at least a 5. The green salsa was delicious however the portion size for $3.29 was very small. We did order but decided to cancel it and eat elsewhere. Definitely heed the reviews about pricing I don't think this place is worth the prices listed on the menu. Food was mediocre and overpriced, drinks were very sour and clearly pre-mixed, and the patio was an absolute wreck with chairs and tables scattered like a junkyard. The kids play area had a massive bee hive issue, and there was a chair sitting at the top of the fountain that nobody seemed to care to remove. It's like the management is just letting this place go. To top that, no chips came with our queso (we had to ask), no waters ever came to half our table, and our waitress grabbed the card readers from our hands at the end before we completed the purchase, and had us questioning if she was charging us additional gratuity. I used to come here for the grilled pineapple slice with spicy grilled shrimp on it. It was unusual and wonderful. They no longer serve it. So I ordered the 10 dollar happy hour quesadillas and I received three triangles. It stated if you wanted guacamole on the side to add 2 dollars. The waitress brings out a large guacamole for 10 dollars. It was brown, cold, and I'm not sure what it was but all I tasted was mushy lime. It was out of a freezer bag and was disgusting. I don't want limes on my tacos or in any of my food. I then ordered the 10 dollar happy hour pibil conchita tacos and they tasted like cinnamon. My husband liked his seafood enchiladas. This place is much bigger inside than it looks. So, don't let the parking lot fool you into thinking it's crowded. They have a huge patio with a slide for kids.
