    Lunch menu
    Brian T.

I came here for a workday lunch with Lupe M. at his recommendation. Within the Energy Corridor, I haven't found many budget-friendly options, however this one definitely was that. We were seated immediately - the restaurant is quite large and there weren't too many tables filled at 11:30am on a Tuesday. We were then brought chips and salsa (my fav part) and waters. Chips were warm, red and green salsas were good, and they refilled our chip bowl upon request. I ordered the lunch flautas plate. At 4 flautas + rice and beans for $9.75, this was a steal! The other options on the lunch menu were priced similarly. The flautas came out hot and crispy, just how I like 'em. These were served alongside lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and guac. The rice and beans that accompanied were good as well. At this price point, it's questionable if I'll still be hungry afterwards, but that was clearly not the case here. Service was attentive, refilling our waters and making sure that we had everything we needed. Food came out quickly, making this a good option for a quick lunch. I saw that they have a daily happy hour menu that begins at 11am (lunch time for those who don't have to go back to the office), with good drink deals for less than $10! I had FOMO since I had to go right back to work afterwards. Thanks Lupe for joining me for lunch! I appreciate these hole-in-the-wall Mexican spots that haven't become way too commercialized (and pricey). I look forward to coming back here regularly for a quick, cheap lunch and a happy hour someday!

What a terrible business. I drive here to pick food up because they claim to be open but they close early making people waste time and gas. I'll never support this company.

This is a little gem in the Memorial district bordering on the Energy Corridor. They have plenty of parking convenient to the entrance. I love their interior atmosphere. The restaurant is spacious, but also cozy. They have booth and regular table seating. They serve red and green sauce with their chips. The chips are thin, but not too thin. I am not a fan of some restaurant that have thick chips. These are just right. The margaritas are good. They are deceiving at first. They don't taste strong, but they pack a punch. I recommend the top shelf (better quality of liquor). La Hacienda's food is fresh, arrives to the table at the perfect temperature and the servings are large. I had the combination plate (#3) which comes with a cheese enchilada, a crispy beef taco and a puffy taco. My friend had the bacon wrapped shrimp. I tasted one and it was delicious! All the food was very good. I expected a regular taco shell for the beef crispy, but it came in a curled tostada type shell. It was very good. Usually, the cheese enchilada is my favorite item at Mexican restaurants, but I like their crispy taco so much. I have a new favorite, at least at La Ha. Both times I have been, I have gotten exceptional service. The waitstaff are all very nice and fast. This is an older Mexican restaurant, but it's one of my favorites now. You can't go wrong here. Great food, service and comfort. Everything I look for when selecting a place to dine. I will be back to try their tacos al carbon. That's a favorite dish of mine. A neighboring table ordered it. It looked and smelled delicious. I had a little food envy at first.

Was craving Tex Mex and wanted to try another spot. My go to (Ninfa's) is right there a couple blocks from La Hacienda, but I decided to get out of my comfort zone. Brave decision I thought, on to La Hacienda I decided. Sped dialed the number and placed my order. Ordered the chimichanga plate and some type tostada...?!‍ Lots of food that lasted me 2.5 days ! Delicious and those nachos they serve with the salsa and the green dipping sauce? So yummy and fresh! I was very very happy with my experience at La Hacienda. Will most likely return. The lady at the counter/reception was super friendly, welcoming and offered me a sweet pastry dessert that I will def return to buy on a "cheat" day.

    Fajitas for one
    Elizabeth H.

Stopped in for lunch recently and this place just isn't the same. First, they have new menus (since the last time we visited) and the pricing has really gone up! Examples: we ordered the fajitas for one at a cost of $19.20. You can see in the picture that what we received was a really small amount of meat on the plate. We asked for only refried beans and no rice - and they put all the beans on the same plate as the fajitas!!! Who does that??? We think it is to make the plate look full, but was VERY disappointing. Over and above that, the menu advertises "Sizzling Beef Fajitas" but our plate came out with ZERO sizzle (has happened before here, too). Lackluster and totally lacking that "sizzling fajita" experience. Just sad. We also asked our server Martin to have them add pico de gallo and shredded cheese on top of the fajitas. Did that happen? Not at all! Again, you can see in the picture that they put the pico de gallo and shredded cheese ON TOP OF THE BEANS! Why? You have ONE JOB and the restaurant was practically empty. They also charged us $4 for a very tiny portion of pico de gallo and cheese! Outrageous!!!! Another fail. Now let's talk about their prices for a glass of wine. $8 for a Chardonnay! This place really used to be affordable but they have raised the prices so high we won't be back. If I want to pay that much for a glass of wine I'll go to P**pas***s! And the food and atmosphere will be MUCH better. They also took the "story" of La Hacienda off the menu. Also sad. They also now have handheld checkout machines and Martin swooped in as soon as we laid down our card and stood there while we settled the bill. Really bad form and made us feel rushed. He got a very generous 15% tip which really wasn't warranted given the service, food quality, the mistake with the preparation of our food, etc. Just a really disappointing experience and there are so many other better restaurants. We definitely won't return. Goodbye La Hacienda....

    Freshly made chips con salsa

So you can easily just drive right past this spot if you don't know it's even there. Within a strip center and nothing fancy from the outside, but inside is a different story. Lively decorated with Traditional Mexican motifs and lovely Mexican Musica in the background. Extremely fast and prompt service from the wait staff and busers etc.etc.... Fresh chip's con salsa to start with and then I ordered some "Menudo"! I'm nursing a sore throat, so I couldn't eat anything too difficult. I was not disappointed, very large bowl of authentic Menudo. "Just like Mama or Grandma's "!! Just the right blends of seasoning and loaded with meat and hominy!! Very tasty with mucho sabor latino!! Lotsa people enjoying themselves here and I can hear many frequent customers being greeted too. My dish was exceptional and yummy, so I'm assuming the rest is just as good! Like most Texan restaurants, these Guy's and Gal's also make there own Tortillas instead of buying!! Again, there is not much to look at from the storefront entrance. However, the inside will surprise you. Well maintained and operated. I suggest remodel from the outdoors. Other than that, I was pleasantly Surprised. Also excellent services from Entire Staff......Mature and Experienced Walter's!!

    La Hacienda Special Dinner! Disgusting!!!

This is the worst Mexican food I have ever had in my life! I promise you that the Taco Bell on the same street is better! I placed an order for my family and I didn't even receive all of the items I ordered. My 8 year olds Chicken Quesadilla was missing. The Tamale, Rice & Beans that came with my Hacienda Dinner looked and tasted like DOG FOOD! The beans were crusted over, the bottom of the pan was slightly burned and it all was truly disgusting!!! The stuffed pepper that came with it was ok, and I didn't receive the taco. Lastly, the salsa was horrid!!! I was so disappointed after working a long day having a migraine and spending hard earned money. I called the restaurant just to let the manager or owner know and he did offer to remake it, but then got an attitude when I told him that the tamale plate was old, probably from the day before or even earlier during the day. He became angry and bragged about how it was a 42 year old recipe. Dog food, if you ask me! And to have a nasty attitude because customers don't want nasty food is sad. Needless to say, I declined the remake because he would have probably spit in our food. I live .2 miles from this restaurant and will NEVER order from here again. I work very hard as a professional therapist, I don't want to waste my money or time on horrible food from an owner or manager who doesn't appreciate their customers!

Awesome food! Thank you so much! I got the enchiladas, rice, and the beans. It reminded me of the enchiladas my grandpa made in Nuevo León.

Met the ladies here to celebrate, & break bread…read more Thank you Jamila for selecting this original location of the Original Ninfas, to host, (our last supper, before your relocation from Houston to Florida.). A place I grew up in as a little girl in Beaumont but never have I've visit this "original" location. Stepping in to this spot felt like a restaurant in the country of Mexico. I ordered the El Henry. I absolutely loved my dish, only thing I would've chance was the cheese enchilada definitely would've swap for a chicken or beef one, or maybe even a flaunta. I really like the Mexican rice, it had little potatoes and carrots in it. Some of the best Mexican yellow rice I've had. They offer a cinco de mayo drink special. The only thing that seem to make it special was the drinks apparently were limited edition menu items. Nothing was special about the prices. The regular menu drinks were a dollar(s) less. The margarita I ordered first was peach coconut. I didn't taste the coconut at all. I swap for the peach strawberry ($14 or 15) which was great, sweet& strong. One did me just right. You get to select up to two flavors for additional $2 (for both verse each, that's a plus. Not worded on menu). If you select a third flavor an additional $2 would be added ($4 in total) I appreciate separate tickets provided after confirmation and no additional gratuity automatically added, which he got tip equally the same or more. When asked about the "empty" patio that was available, he informed us that the entire deck was reserved. Upon departing I noticed from the parking lot individual tables, of separate parties were occupying only 3 tables. It was 8 of us sitting at 2 tables. Which the table was pushed up against the wall, and one side was inaccessible, which took away spacing. Service was lovely space was really tight. Good thing some of the ladies didn't order full meals. Definitely wouldn't have been able to fit every plate.

Ambiance: upon walking in, it was chaos and sooooo many people standing up and sitting down. Walking around with drinks. I felt like I was in a club. A server made her way to me to take my Togo order. While waiting, I grabbed a drink at the bar and just made the happy hour cut off. Service was great as I was able to get my order and it was a large order. Everything was correct. The house margarita was ok, I wish I had gotten the hibiscus flavor. Order; Crab Tostadas Mixed Fajitas Snapper Mole Enchilada Ninfa 2 Tacos Margarita Mix The only thing I would order again is the crab tostadas and the beef fajitas. The chicken had no flavor at all. The charros beans and rice were not anything special. I was not a fan of either. Overall, we are not planning to order from here again. It just wasn't what Mark Weins made it seem like on his review. Also, whoever the driver was practically could not wait for me to turn around. Sorry, I had to take a pic. Very rude.

For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. All of the drinks were very pretty and it seemed like everyone enjoyed them, too! We started with their chips and salsa trio, which we all really liked. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!

I prefer traditional homemade Mexican food but here we are. (Oh I googled and suggested this place lol) Went in for a team lunch on a Friday. Coworker's birthday lunch and she wanted Mexican. Party of 9 and we were seated promptly. They have a lunch menu and a happy hour as well as a full menu and full bar. The interior was nicely decorated. And open. There is bar seating and patio seating as well. Our waitress was Aisha and she was amazing. Friendly, helpful and patient. And able handle our large group and a few more tables with a smile. There were a variety of options. Salads, fajitas, nachos, enchiladas, etc. Also complimentary chips and salsa. My Order: chicken tortilla soup, lunch fajitas combo - chicken and beef. Chicken tortilla soup (3.5/5) - it was a bit salty for me but I am not a salt person so most things are salty to me; everyone else said it was tasty, there were tons of shredded chicken, avocado pieces, tortilla strips Fajitas - combo (4/5) - chicken was seasoned well and the beef (medium rare) was perfection and so tender and juicy, mexican rice was fluffy, and normally I would pass on the beans and get extra rice but my coworker suggested the charro beans and wow, that was a win - the seasoning was great, there were chunks of meat and the texture was nice, the only thing that could have been done better is the flour tortillas - they over-charred them making them too crispy and left them with a burnt taste. A couple of people got the elote salad and raved about it. So that will be a next time try. Def will be back. Everyone enjoyed their meals and some even ordered food to go. Would recommend.
