This place is amazing. The view the food the service it's honestly great all around. We got a great corner table that you see the pool and ocean perfectly. For starters we got the soup of the day and the chips with guacamole. We came as part of an all inclusive we were able to order 2 of each. I just sat here thinking and I can't seem to just pick one. Honestly they all had something I enjoyed. But if I honestly had to pick one is the tacos all pastor. I always order these and not because it is Mexico but these were the best I ever tried. Came here for lunch and dinner during our stay, it was a very nice go-to restaurant that had availability for seating majority of the time without a wait. The tacos were nice bite sizes so you can try all of them. My favorite was the shrimp soup- MUST GEt if you love seafood!! And the quesadillas were made to perfection- I liked the plabano with corn the most. A lot of my friends liked the beef tongue too that comes in a taco form. Our group of 7 wanted to go downtown Isla Mujeres and downtown Cancun with a mission - to find authentic street tacos that we crave so much out in California. We never expected Blue Agave to beat out the majority of tacos we tried in the streets! The meat was high quality, perfectly spiced. Guacamole was fresh. Quesadillas.. Omg! Several people said it was the best they'd ever had. Slight crunch on the outside, generous melted cheese with tender chicken, pork, or beef inside. Don't forget to order an Ojo Rojo - kind of like a bloody mary but made with beer, and not super salty like bloody Mary's in the US. It's very refreshing. Service waS friendly and attentive, albeit a little slower. However, a lot of all inclusive restaurants and buffets are the same and this was faster than the others. Huge bonus that most restaurants are closed for lunch except this and the main buffet. We had no problem eating here daily! No one got sick of it. And I'm not even a huge fan of mexican food. Or maybe I always was. Just not a fan of crappy mexican food If you stay at paradisus, this place is a MUST. No reservations needed and resort casual attire is fine. read more

My husband and I have the all inclusive package. We came here for lunch and was seated right away at a table with a view of the ocean. They bring out chips, limes, salsa and guac. Many people on Yelp said the guac was underwhelming. We just added the limes from the table and it was delicious. A very nice, casual place with attentive service and very good food. We chose Blue Agave for our first dinner in Cancun, because our concierge said we didn't need reservations and he was right. It wasn't too crowded at all at 7 PM on a Saturday. Complimentary chips came out fast with small bowlls of salsa, guacamole, and a spicy smoky sauce. We ordered two taco plates (around 30 pesos or $2 each), a quesadilla plate (even cheaper( and 2 bowls of shrimp soup (about 75 pesos or around 10 bucks. The tacos were small and served on round corn tortillas -very reminiscent of what we get at Bartaco in Connecticut. The flavors were terrific- a great combination of warm tortillas, meats, veggies and spices. The shrimp soup was not memorable, it was salty and had a pretty high concentration of shells in it. Me and my family were waiting for 20 minutes until a server decided to come and take our water drinks. The food was okay nothing special. The guacamole had no seasoning. Waiter finally decided to show up and said I'm only giving you guys a sample plate and didn't even wait to take our order. Very disappointed. I am a guest at the hotel- Paradisus and this was the worst restaurant we've been to. Not because of the food, but because of the service. We entered and noticed a beautiful round table in the corner of the restaurant with full glass windows overviewing the pool and beach. It was gorgeous and we were excited to sit there. We are about to sit, and one of the waiters tells us that it's dirty and they need to clean it up. So we sit at another table. There is what looks like a self-serve bar of taco meat and tortilla and plates. My boyfriend goes there to serve himself but the chef behind the car gives him a sassy attitude saying something in Spanish. My boyfriend is Asian... moooost likely he does not speak Spanish (and he doesn't), yet the chef still says a snarky comment in Spanish. On top of everything, we were still at the table, waiting to be cleaned... and at least waiting to be served some refreshments. Nope. Not even a lot of customers, yet no acknowledgment. There were 3 other tables that were also not acknowledged, who came after us. It had been 10-15 minutes. It was just so ridiculous, we left. Great option if you do not have a reservation! We were staying at the Paradisus as part of an all-inclusive stay so we did not pay, but the prices seem very reasonable. Service was terrific - super friendly and attentive. Delicious tacos, especially the tenderloin medallion and top sirloin tacos. BF also got 2 quesadillas - chicken & potato - that he really enjoyed. I also tried the mixed (combo of meats) and breaded beef tacos - I liked the tenderloin more, but these were still quite nice. Also served tasty chips, salsa, and guacamole. Overall, very pleased with our meal here. We ordered 4 items each, but I was pretty full after 2 tacos. I also ate a bunch of chips and salsa, partly because the food took a while longer than I expected, but all dishes arrive hot and fresh. To be honest, this was one of the restaurants at the paradisus that I most looked forward to upon reading reviews. The first day, I enquired as to the gluten free status of the menu( nothing is marked as " sin gluten") and was told the proteins, tacos, and chips were fine and of course stay clear of the quesadillas. I will say I was a tad skeptical but went for it. Over the course of the last week, I've gone back on two separate occasions. In total, I vouch for the gluten free status of the following items: bistek taco, pastor taco, and another taco made of ground beef. The chips and salsas are fine as well. Oh, oh also ask after the margarita of the day. My favorite was definitely the tamarind margarita. Tacos are great here during lunch. They have late lunch hours though, not opening until 2:30 I believe. Service is lacking. In the morning during breakfast at 10 am, not a single table was clean. It took about 15 min to flag someone down and ask multiple times for them to clean the table. At night after the Red Lounge, they didn't bother to refill the food and one employee was just standing around talking to all the other workers for at least 30 min. read more

I did have an excellent cava from Spain and very careful service due to my allergy but absent and busy help after our tacos were served. We ate at this place for lunch on our very last day. Our waiter was named Christian. He was amazing. We had our first real margarita here. Tequila, club soda and lime juice. They were not disappointing. Christian also wanted us to try his favorite, papaya margarita. He just brought it to us and made us feel like his friend. We got the sirloin tacos and A couple quesadillas. It was delicious. Before we ate Christian brought us guac and Homemade salsa and chips. That was yummy. Chips were delicious and crispy. This is by far my favorite restaurant in Paradisus Cancun. Mostly tacos or quesadillas, the food is simple and your plates are completely customizable. If you want to try each type of taco, go to town. If you want tacos and quesadillas, it's your choice! When you sit down you'll receive a basket of chips and a plate of guacamole, Pico de gallo and a smoky sauce. Start enjoying this while you wait for your margarita. Because you are getting a margarita here. The specialty changes daily, mostly just changing out the tropical fruit for another. But the basic margarita on the rocks is crazy strong and equally delicious. Next, turn your attention to the table mat in front of you. The first and third are the tacos, middle is obviously quesadillas and the soups can found the bottom. I strongly recommend the alambre tacos. They come with onions, pepper, and cheese and either beef or chicken. The papas y chorizo quesadilla is delicious, but more potatoes than the chorizo. I also tried chicken quesadilla, slightly sweet which is not my thing, maybe yours though! If you'd like ground beef, look to the sirloin (ground beef), not beef (hunks of meat, not ground). The servers don't always understand what you mean if you ask them that. Now wait the 5 minutes for your food and enjoy them to the fullest. Go. Do it now. (They open slightly earlier at 5 so if you have late reservations, enjoy two tacos to keep your appetite down like we did ! ). read more

This place was great! The restaurant is small with about 12 tables max so make sure you don't go during peak hours of 7-9 if you can help it. The style here is basically street tacos. They have all different kinds you can choose from but my favorite was the Pastor which was marinated pork with pineapple. Very very delicious. They also have Quesadillas here which are basically the size of your palm and contain whatever you choose inside. Vegetarians beware, they only have 1 option on the menu that does not contain meat. I was in this hotel for five days and this was the only restaurant that food was sooo nasty. The staff is very nice but the food isn't good at all. I'm not sure if its because it's authentic Mexican food and Im used to American Mexican or what but I didn't not enjoy it at all. The food came out really fast I literally sat down and tasted four different things with my friend and we immediately got up to leave and go to the buffet. The steak taco was extremely tough that I couldn't even pull it apart with my teeth. Yum. This place was delicious, and a great alternative to dinner reservations for late lunch or dinner. Open only from 5pm-11pm each day, but the tasty menu delivered. Street style tacos and small quesadillas were the specialty, with a wide variety of options including pork pibil, tinga de pollo (a tasty shredded chicken), picadillo, and more. You will find something no matter what your mood. Also, they bring out a plate of fresh pico de gallo, hand made guacamole and spicy red or green salsas to try while you wait on your fresh selections from the menu. Everything on the menu is a taco or quesadilla that are the size of dollar pancakes. the cheese is terrible and it excessive and I love cheese. The sour cream is serviced warm. If you want rice or beans good luck, no rice only beans and they come in a ramekin dish like the salsa. The chips taste like old stale chips that are 2 weeks old. We were in town for four days before we found this spot. Authentic tacos, great service, reasonable prices. We couldn't find a great authentic taco anywhere we went, until this place. Everything was great with one exception the chips, not going to focus here they were good just not our style. Natanael took good care of us and was very helpful. Ask for the spicy salsa it was spicy and really tasty. The carnitas and lengua were the best out the tacos we tried and we sampled almost all of the.
