    Glass shard (next to dime

How much compensation is swallowing a glass shard worth? According to Blount's Family Kitchen's customer service rep. Savannah, only 3 $1.50 discount coupons, a coupon for 1 free product, & 2 ball caps (which they arbitrary substituted for an agreed to long sleeve sweatshirt with their logo it). Briefly, after multiple attempts to reinstate the agreed to sweatshirt, Savannah said none were available & she didn't think any would be available; after which she promptly said goodbye & hung up on me! Last Friday, 1/9/'26, I called their customer service, gave her my call-back No. so she could call me back if we get disconnected, & as I was providing her the "back story", she abruptly disconnected! I never got the call back. Calling their corporate office failed when they wouldn't answer. I challenge their president (& self-proclaimed "Chowderhead"): Todd Blount to try and make this right! Until then, I will pass the word on how I was treated & will dissuade anyone from buying any of their products! Lastly, I use to enjoy the simplicity of their soups/chowders as I am not a cook; but I will never again patronize their products! Now I will try to persuade Costco (where I purchased the contaminated food) to equally compensate me to the value of these unwanted coupons.

New England Clam Chowder (amazingly good!?) - VN
    Vince N.

I discovered the Blount brand of refrigerated soups while shopping at Safeway. I took a chance and bought just two containers. Big mistake. THE GOODS: New England Clam Chowder - $10.99 (24 oz.) Finally!? It's about time someone sold a delicious, creamy, homemade-tasting chowder, made available to the masses. Seriously, it's that good. And, it's not overloaded with potatoes. I no longer look forward to vacations to San Francisco for Fisherman's Wharf or a brick & mortar restaurant to enjoy restaurant-quality chowder. The only downfall? Word is out as it's hard to come by in my local Safeway. Lobster Bisque - $10.99 (24 oz.) Another winner. Creamy, slightly sweet and with notable shreds on lobster meat throughout. Mind blown at its freshness. OVERALL: Safeway shouldn't sell these next to their Select line of soups as they can't compare! Now, if I can only find their Gumbo to try...

Wow! This place was exactly what I expected. Small but great greasy spoon (however, a more upscale look and feel). The clam chowder was excellent as we're the clam cakes. The kids had foot long hotdogs which were not only delicious but shockingly reasonably priced. I had a clam strip roll which I loved. My wife had the chicken noodle soup in a bread bowl which was also very good. If I lived here I would regularly stop by and probably gain some weight. This place is not a health food place but it is good food relatively quick with friendly service. You order at the counter but then they bring the food to your table. The soup bar left a little to be desired, but maybe another day the selection would be more appealing to me. We will go back here for sure.

    Chowder and cakes lunch special

I could eat here every week. I get the clambake chowder with clam cakes and a drink. The restaurant is always clean, the staff pleasant and knowledgeable, service is quick, and food is always fresh and hot.

Peter said that the clam cakes were better than Lindsey's in Buzzard's Bay!

We were in Fall River to run an errand and needed lunch. I searched Yelp for suggestions and found Blount as I was in the mood for soup. Clambake and hearty ministrone were perfect. Peter had the clam chowder and clam cakes with Chourice. Excellent! Very clean. Great air conditioning. Friendly and helpful employees.

My partner and I both saw it at the same time and decided to stop and check them out. This is a lovely market (did I just say that?). It's smaller than the usual big supermarkets we're all used to, but it's really clean and set up beautifully. We walked around and checked out lots of things and bought a French meat pie and picked up a small salmon pie for my mom (she loves salmon). We warmed up the French meat pie and made some mashed potatoes and gravy and we really enjoyed this pie. It's hard to find a good meat pie that is ready made and this one tasted the most like my recipe (the spices were perfect and it didn't have potatoes in it). I can't remember what we paid for it (I want to say $10?) and we ended up getting 2 meals out of it. We'll definitely stop and buy some more next time we're in town!!

Another example is the blounts market soups, 1299... For one container yet there $8 at blounts.... That's pretty big mark-up. But again I understand it's a family small market and maybe that's what they get charged I don't know. They don't sell many organic items either. It would be such a great thing if they did and be a competitor of whole foods which thankfully is now opening nearby. Or even Tom's market in Warren which this market is very close to in regards to the type of business and the way it's set up.....but the biggest thing is the meat, I don't really get the big deal about the meats. My husband has been trying to find out exactly where their meats come from and not hearing anything about any local farms or humanely raised humanely certified nothing. They seem to come from these giant meat companies. So I don't really understand what the big deal is. He brought home a couple steaks a few weeks ago that were almost $40. And they were terrible. I don't know what they add to the meat to make it look the color it does or anything. I wish they made very clear exactly where and what farms they use to get their products... Oh well. Like I said the family is very nice. Their staff is very nice. The staff behind the deli is superb. Super nice kids working there. I just wish they had more organics and that their prices were not as high as they are. Unfortunately it's like that everywhere right now so this place is sky high at the moment.
