One thing to keep in mind: if you're dining with a group, everyone at the table has to order all-you-can-eat. Apparently, people took advantage of it in the past by having one person order AYCE and then sharing with the entire table, so I completely understand the policy. The service has always been good, and the staff is friendly and attentive. There are also several other options if sushi isn't your thing. I really enjoy the gyoza and egg drop soup. Otherwise, there's a great variety of sushi and sashimi to choose from, so there's definitely something for everyone. Overall, it's a good, laid-back sushi spot. It's not over-the-top or as expensive as some of the higher-end sushi restaurants, but that's part of what I like about it. You can enjoy plenty of good food, get your money's worth, and not completely break the budget. Definitely a place we'll continue coming back to!

The food is solid, plenty of choices, and when you factor in the price, the value is unreal. You can spend $30 at most sushi spots and barely get a couple rolls. Is it the fanciest sushi spot in town? No. But for $29.95 AYCE? This place hits. Definitely worth it.

My mother and I have been trying to search for the best Korean food in Arizona since I was a kid…read more Today was our first time at GOGI. We drove an hour to eat here, and we are more than satisfied with the food and service. The service was very friendly and extremely quick. Once we had ordered our food, I went to the bathroom and by the time I got back we had already received our banchan, shrimp tempura appetizer, and bulgogi, followed by everything else shortly after. All the food came out fresh and the bulgogi came out sizzling on a hot skillet ready for us. All the meat we ate was very tender and flavorful. The yukgaejang (spicy beef and vegetable soup, 육개장) was slightly different than what we are used to, as it was more like small slices of beef rather than shredded; however, this is not a complaint as the meat was still extremely tender and almost melted in my mouth. Overall the soup was delicious and exactly what we were looking for. I also wanted to mention the banchan and how fresh it was. There honestly was not a dish that we didn't enjoy, even the fried chicken was amazing (we were so full we had to bring it home). My mother even said she would eat there everyday if we lived closer. At the end of the meal, we were brought watermelon slices. I was tempted to ask how they picked their watermelons or where they got them from, because they were soooo sweet and delicious! It was refreshing after eating all that food. Overall, we will be back 100% and ready to try more menu items. I highly recommend that if you enjoy authentic Korean food, you come here as this is now our #1 spot over Hodori in Mesa.

We ordered the half-and-half fried chicken at Gogi in Chandler, with garlic and classic flavors. I…read morehad high hopes, but unfortunately, the chicken itself was the weak link. The garlic sauce was actually pretty good! Unfortunately, the chicken underneath wasn't crispy, landing somewhere in that awkward no-man's-land between soft and crispy. Not quite the crunch I was hoping for. The classic was even more disappointing. It was incredibly bland, with seemingly no salt at all. Compared to Korean fried chicken I've had elsewhere, it really fell flat. We also asked for some sauce on the side to dip the chicken in, but were told no because the sauce is only made when the chicken is ordered. Okay, but apparently we're just supposed to accept the blandness? The side dishes were decent, but they weren't enough to redeem the chicken. Overall, I'd give the experience 3 stars at most. The garlic sauce had potential, but the actual chicken needed some serious help. And then there was the pigeon. A pigeon somehow flew into the restaurant, casually perched on a table for a while, and then flew directly over my head on its way out. I wasn't expecting dinner to come with live entertainment, but somehow the pigeon ended up being the most memorable part of the visit. Come for the chicken, leave remembering the pigeon.

Over the years, the ownership has changed, and unfortunately, I've noticed that some of the recipes and flavors have changed along with it. I came in recently with a serious craving for the food I remember loving, so I was really hoping for that nostalgic Yoko experience. The egg roll was the biggest disappointment for me. It didn't have the same flavorful filling I remember, and the texture was harder than expected. I was especially bummed because this was one of the things I had been craving so badly! The crab angels, however, were still really good and had great flavor. Those definitely brought back some of the taste I was hoping for. I also tried the Kaum Poong Kee, but unfortunately, it was missing that tangy, garlicky, bold flavor that I remember it having in the past. Overall, the meal was just okay. I'm sharing this from the perspective of someone who has been coming here for two decades and genuinely remembers how special the food used to taste. That said, I'm still open to coming back and trying some of the other dishes because I'd love to find a few new favorites! I think the nostalgia had my expectations extra high this time around. Hopefully, on my next visit, I'll discover some dishes that give me that classic Yoko flavor I've been missing!

I went with the broccoli and beef, the sesame chicken, and the spicy edamame; my order qualified for a free order of the crab wontons. Everything came to about $25 and was delicious. The beef and broccoli was so tender and full of flavor. The sesame chicken was perfectly breaded and the sauce was balanced in flavor and spice. They both came with white rice and plenty of it. The edamame were very spicy but still had really really great flavor. The wontons were also amazing. Very crispy, the filling was super creamy and had the right amount of crab. The only thing I'd change is to thicken up the sauces in both the beef and broccoli and sesame chicken. It was flavorful but quite thin. The whole meal was great, the staff super friendly and the restaurant was really clean. It's also very close to my house and will be definitely be a new staple takeout place!

The kung pao chicken was good and spicy, and got high marks for having red sweet pepper instead of green pepper. The beef and broccoli was good but would have benefited from some garlic. I ordered the copy ramen and it was really good. I like that they gave these toys and how I wanted my egg cooked because I really don't like soft boiled eggs. My ramen was yummy, although I thought it would be a darker beef ramen and it was not. Our server was not the friendliest in the world but she got the job done. I guess that's all the counts. I would definitely come back here to try the Hawaiian dishes because they look seriously delicious, but I wouldn't make a special trip for the ramen.

My husband and I visited at a relatively quiet time and were seated near a group that appeared to be regulars. It was clear they had a great relationship with the staff, which is always nice to see at a local business. At the same time, we did notice a pretty significant difference in the level of attention we received. At one point, when our drinks came out, the server was asked where they belonged. He immediately said, "Two go here," referring to the other group. When asked where the third drink went, the response was, "Somewhere over there, I don't know." It was a small interaction, but it captured how much of the evening felt for us. A few items we ordered also came out incorrectly, and at times we felt a little overlooked. Thankfully, the female owner was incredibly kind and attentive toward the end of our visit and really helped turn the experience around. I'm still giving five stars because the food genuinely deserves it, and I completely understand how valuable loyal, repeat customers are to a small business. I'd only encourage the team to remember that new customers may be walking through the door because they specifically want to support local businesses, too -- and a little warmth and engagement can go a long way in turning them into regulars as well. We would absolutely return for the food, and I hope our next visit gives us the chance to experience more of the hospitality that clearly keeps so many people coming back.

The first time I came was when they originally opened, so had a few hiccups and sushi was okay. Now years later, I would have expected better quality fish, rolls, the way they cut their fish etc. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. Came with a friend, she said she enjoyed this place. I ended up ordering two rolls for myself. Can't remember the names now, but the rolls were flavorless even with sauces that went on top (I actually asked for more and still didn't have much flavor), the cuts of fish were very skimpy/thin and uneven, my sushi rolls themselves also lacked ingridients inside and were so small. As shown in my pictures. I ended up taking the left overs home to show my spouse and to see what he thought, thinking maybe my taste buds were off, and I was being extra and he was in shock that I actually ate some of it and didn't say anything. For rolls costing $15+ I would hope for a bit thicker cuts of fish since that's what I'm paying for, not closer to paper thin... I was truly so disappointed.

I actually thought I was ordering delivery this time, but it turned out to be a pickup order -- not ideal, but luckily the restaurant is less than 15 minutes from home. The tofu itself was delicious -- crisp, flavorful, and nicely spiced. I like salty food (probably my Russian side showing), though my German boyfriend thought it was a little too salty for his taste. I really enjoyed the heat from the jalapeños -- just enough to add a kick without overpowering the dish. Even though I was bummed about the pickup mix-up, my order was ready when I arrived. The staff member was friendly and even mentioned I hadn't selected a rice option, so they went ahead and added one for me -- a small gesture that made a big difference. Overall, tasty food, quick service, and thoughtful staff. I'd definitely order from them again -- maybe next time, for actual delivery!
