Filet mignon, macaroni and cheese, sautéed mushrooms
Pete A.

Our company took over the whole restaurant ahead of time so they were prepared for us. I do believe it's harder to serve everybody all at once. That being said I was underwhelmed. Steak skewer in the crabcake appetizer were both cold. My filet mignon came literally by itself on a plate with no sauce. Like much flavor. The mac & cheese and mushrooms were OK. It took a long time for dinner to get served. That being said hats off to the staff who worked their tails off. It wasn't a bad dinner. It just simply wasn't the best steak dinner I've ever had.

Excellent working lunch. Nice setting inside the Hilton, service was on point with timeliness and attentiveness.

Top: hush puppies. Bottom: jalapeño cheddar sausage.

Excellent dinner at Bloomington Chophouse, located in the Hilton hotel. Went in for Restaurant Week and added a couple extra starters. Service was exceptional -- two waiters regularly checked in on us, ensuring our meal was pleasant and had everything we needed. Had a great conversation with both about food and drink recommendations. Here's the meal breakdown (Restaurant Week + more): - NA Red Wine Blend -- flavorful like a rosé. First time trying a non-alcoholic red wine and definitely would recommend. - Buffalo chicken soup -- good flavor, very creamy and rich. - Crab cake -- delicious! Loved it the most with the harissa vinaigrette and a squeeze of lemon. Really enjoyed that it didn't rely on breading to keep it formed which allowed the crab flavor to shine. - Hush puppies & Sausage -- both excellent! Best hush puppies I've had in a restaurant in the twin cities! Great flavor (slightly spicy) and had a nice crunchy coating. The sausage was delicious, juicy, and flavorful. In my opinion, both were excellent on their own and the sauce was not needed. - Brisket -- nice fat cap on top. Pulled apart easily with my fork. Paired nicely with the pickles and mustard. - Ribs -- Delicious spice rub (sweet and smoky) and very tender meat! Stellar! - Baked beans -- If chili and traditional baked beans had a baby, this would be it! Sweet, savory, and smoky with 3 types of beans and bacon. Wowzer! Knocked it out of the park! - Strawberry Shortcake -- where to start? The biscuit was baked to perfection and loved the sugar granules on the top half. The strawberry rhubarb sauce was perfectly balanced -- not too sweet and not too tart. The whipped cream tasted homemade. Fabulous dessert! Overall great dinner! Will definitely come back and recommend to friends!

Refined venue that blends Classic and Modern Steakhouse vibes (fresh flowers at the table, comfy booths and tables). They have great Happy Hour and other unique specials. We enjoyed the Ribeye (ordered Medium by my dinner guest), Steak and Shrimp, sautéed mushrooms, Oysters, and the best calamari I've had in quite some time. Tasty drink cocktails as well. Chocolate dipped macaroons to finish it off. Jay our server, gave us the VIP treatment. They also have Private Rooms available for special occasions. If you haven't tried this place, I highly suggest you do. The current staff if awesome, and obviously so is the food. I'll be back soon! Uploading the pics has me drooling.

This is a solid 4.5 stars...from service to food, we had a wonderful experience. First off, the presentation of every single item was top notch. The crab cakes and creamed spinach were especially delicious. My hubs really enjoyed his Denver wagyu. I had the flatiron, which was not as good but still quality meat. I got the blue cheese crust, but I think the server just accidentally forgot. No biggie...there was a nice butter in the outside. Wrapped up the evening with a new nonalcoholic coffee concoction (on the menu) that was tremendous. They have a nice Saturday date night menu for two with a bottle of wine, app, 2 entrees, and dessert for $100. Purple rain cocktail & classic manhattan Crab cakes Flatiron & Denver and wagyu Creamed spinach After dinner coffees

Warning about their 17th anniversary celebration If you received an email from The Bloomington Chophouse in early January 2025 regarding their 17th anniversary event running through February, you should know that they reneged on their pledge to reduce prices to opening day. They now claim that offering a 17% discount is providing greater value than reverting to opening day prices. What a joke. Here are just two examples and there are many others like it. Back in 2008, the prime rib cost $28. Today, it's $45. To get from $45 to $28, you'd have to discount it 38%. The wedge salad was $7 and now costs $13 which requires a discount of 46% to get down to $7. On average, to get back to 2008 prices, the average discount would have to be 38%, yet somehow, their management thinks that a 17% discount is a "greater value". They played the bait and switch game to get me into their restaurant and then changed the game. Not fair! Maybe the way their management treats their customers is why they use Tock instead of OpenTable. You can't leave reviews on Tock but you can on OpenTable. 2008 menu attached.

I have a local Chophouse on the East Coast, yet have never gone. This one was connected to our hotel and we were SO hungry - didn't want to look elsewhere. GREAT food! Wow have I been missing out! The Chophouse salad was soooooo yummy. Our (very nice) waiter, Kenny, said it was big enough for two people, so we shared it, but wished we hadn't. It wasn't that big (do they eat less here?) and it was so stinking good that we each wanted to enjoy more of it! We both got the crab cakes from the app menu for our meals. AWESOME choice. DELISH! One drink each and a toast to our Pilgrimage to Paisley Park and Minneapolis :)

Shrimp Cocktail

We truly enjoyed our complete dining experience here! Michelle was friendly and attentive. We are working on a low carb food program so this was the perfect choice for that. Michelle noted that and did not bring us bread. We started out with the shrimp cocktail appetizer, which had nice size shrimp. For our meal, we shared the NY Strip MedRare+, which was seasoned and prepared to perfection. So juicy and flavorful. Our sides consisted of the mushrooms and asparagus. The mushrooms are truly the bomb when it comes to sides. Their side offerings are heavy on the potato sides, always wish for more veggie choices. One other wish is to get sides as a single order instead of only family style. I can only eat partial of the large order and my hubby does not eat mushrooms, therefore we always end up leaving so much food on the table because we are always flying out the next morning. Even if we are not staying in the hotel, the Chophouse is worthy of a special stop! The food here is at a different level!

Nothing to rave over - except for the service, but there were only two other tables being serviced. Over priced; and ala carte.

There were still some things we really enjoyed, though, and I'm glad we gave it a try. We started with the French Onion Soup, which was one of my favorite parts of the meal. I loved that they used croutons instead of one giant piece of bread. Much easier to eat--no fighting with a giant bread raft to get to my soup! The flavor was really nice too. I had the Bolognese Pappardelle, which was good, and my partner really enjoyed his Hanger Steak. He also tried the Garlic Herb Mushrooms, but those weren't really his thing. I ordered the N.A. Lela Punch, and that one surprised me. I wasn't sure about it at first, but it grew on me as I drank it. Apparently we just needed a little time to get acquainted. Dessert was an adventure. I decided to try the White Chocolate Panna Cotta because I'd never had panna cotta before. It was beautifully plated, but this is also how I learned panna cotta has a Jell-O-like texture... and I do not like Jell-O. That's definitely a me problem rather than a criticism of how it was prepared. At least I can officially say I've tried panna cotta! I ended up trying the Crème Brûlée as well. Unfortunately, that wasn't my favorite either. I usually love crème brûlée, but I prefer the custard very smooth and creamy, and this one was thicker than I personally like. My partner had the Chocolate Molten Cake and thought it was okay, but it wasn't a favorite for him either. Overall, Lela had some definite highlights--the French Onion Soup, Bolognese Pappardelle, and Hanger Steak especially--but we also had a few misses. I can understand why other people really enjoy it; it just wasn't quite the restaurant for us. And hey, every restaurant adventure can't end with a new favorite. That's half the fun of trying them all!

The restaurant is in an older strip mall, but don't let that fool you the food inside is all incredibly flavorful and fresh. My family and I decided to go for ladies night which included buying a cocktail and the top shelf meal to receive 25% off. We ordered drinks and headed to the salad bar. There were so many amazing options. I loved the variety of vegetables, roasted eggplant, marinated tomatoes, mozzarella, corn, and potato salad, sushi, I knew immediately I was in trouble because it would be too easy to get full on the salad bar and not have room for the main attraction: all of the grilled meats!! There is also a hot bar that add chicken Alfredo rice, the traditional dish feijoada and farofa. Once I returned to the table with my salad bar mounds I flipped my card to let the meat rotations begin! They brought around so many amazing choices my favorites were the filet mignon, to sirloin, shrimp, lamb chops, beef ribs and the perfectly carmelized grilled pineapple. They also bring mashed potatoes and cheese popovers to the table. Everything I ate was delicious my only regret is I wasn't able to finish it all!! Only two $$ listed for this place is inappropriate; every dinner item on the menu was $30 or above…read more So prepare to be a bit swindled, cuz those $30+ plates also aren't gonna be whopping portions. It's the whole "oh it's upscale so less is more" concept. And listen, yes, the lamb was amazingly tasty, as were the veggies that came with it. I'm definitely not saying the food wasn't good; it was excellent, it just sorta felt like a rip-off? And the chocolate torte the four of us shared at the end was also REALLY yummy (but $10 for a small slice w/ a scoop of vanilla, so it better be). If you've got money to blow, by all means, but for the majority of us, this ain't it. I was sincerely dubious the moment we drove up. The place is in a hole-in-the-wall run-down strip mall and the parking lot is full of potholes. The Chinese place right beside it looks like they haven't replaced their signage in thirty years, or maybe they're outta business. When we proceeded inside I could tell the owners had done their best to convert a crappy space into something roleplaying as modern and fancy. It felt a little out of place. The ambiance wasn't all that stellar (which is normally not something I much bother commenting on, but again if you're gonna charge thirty bucks a plate, I begin to factor in more nit-picky things like that); there wasn't any music or anything to cover up the perpetual mechanical hum that seemed to emanate from the kitchen? The bathrooms had a similar kind of "gloss" over it. I was unimpressed that the men's was just a unisex stall without a urinal or anything that actually makes it "men's." Like, just convert your two single stall bathrooms into gender-neutral or all-gender (literally all that takes is swapping signage) so people aren't "waiting" for the "correct gendered toilet" when there's zero difference between the two. It's 2026, y'all. We don't need to practice pointless segregation. Service was reasonably quick, food was hot. The server did a good job of keeping up with my in-laws' unslakeable thirst for iced tea. Everyone was polite enough to us. And I appreciated they were open fairly late into the evening on a Tuesday!
