The receptionist, Sarah, tells me to use the other door. I was already inside and infront of her and she literally expected me to walk back out and back in the other door. WTF. Seriously? Is this third grade? I almost left from lack of respct. I loook around and see so many elderly people and think she is making people jump through hoos with a little bit of power. It gets better. The actual physical therapist was great and diagnosed my torn rotator cuff and proceeeded to put together a course of action. When he was in the reception area, this woman acted better, almost fawning over him, but how she treats patients is atrocious. I got my authorization for my therapy schedule in the mail and checked my phone. This woman Sarah had left me several messages. I dreaded calling there and getting her on the phone with her incipid voice and condescending attitude. She did nto disappoint. I could not get a word in edgewise as she educated me on if I had HMO or PPO. I had the authoization in my hand, and she called me - I was returning her call. She spent so much time berating me and telling me she was trying to get information as I was trying to give her my info. I cannot and will not put up with this total lack of respect - rudensess and condescention for absolutely no reason. I am a senior but I am also well enough to say something about elder abuse and this woman is a pip on a power trip. I am calling my doctor immediately and having them reroute my 12 sessions elsewhere. I cannot even begin to think of having to put up with this person for one time more than I absolutely have to, let alone at least 12.

I've been going to AJ Physical Therapy since late August after having surgery on my hip. I've been…read morepretty happy with my results, as has my surgeon. My surgeon even said at one point that we were 'ahead of the curve' recovery-wise, although he wasn't super happy that I was doing unsupported standing/weight-bearing on the operated side within the first few days after surgery (which he said was listed in the referral's recovery plan outline. I had my initial evaluation with Barak, who was very friendly and knowledgeable. After that first session, however, I was assigned to work with Mike. Mike is also very good at what he does, although I had one frustrating incident in which I was being asked to balance on my affected side which I was finding almost impossible as I had hurt my large toe on that foot (bruised the bone or hairline fracture that took a couple of months to recover), even though I had expressed this. After that session we worked on different exercises. The layout is essentially one big open room with some massage-esque tables in the back and all the equipment spread throughout the main room. Some of the equipment/gear is a little old, as an example the ankle-weights I work with frequently have velcro that seems to be hanging on by a thread, though the things have never fallen off of me. There are some offices in the back for other kinds of work (I've not been back there except for the restroom). The staff always greets me with a smile and within a minute of my walking in I'm offered a heating pad to warm up the affected area. They have music on the speakers that's usually pretty good (sometimes 'skips' despite not being a CD player) and a weekly poll on the white board that they invite clients to participate in ("hot cocoa or egg nog" as an example). I enjoy coming here for my workouts, although sometimes the therapists are balancing two people at a time so once they confirm you're doing the correct form, they can pop off to work with another person for a moment. I haven't felt neglected, tho, as the others who are working at the time check in on how I'm doing as I go. They also speak a couple of languages, too, which is great. I think Hebrew (?) and Spanish, but I'm not 100% sure on the latter. The atmosphere is nice, as well, and both staff and clients chat about whatever, generally. One thing I would improve is being more diligent about the 'no phone calls inside' policy, as a lot of the clientele skew older and they tend to chat loudly on their phones or put it onto speaker to hear it better (?). And on occasion just watching videos with the volume on, which can be distracting in the open-floor plan of the place. I will say, they can be heard from their office space which opens to the main floor, and I heard a woman (sally?) commenting the news with statements of how 'of course those people don't speak English' and 'all that misappropriated money Elon found' which worries me regarding media-literacy there, since I heard someone agree with that easily disproven statement (when looking up 'doge actual findings') but I acknowledge that that has nothing to do with physical therapy. Overall a great place to get physical therapy.
