This review is 20 years too late but worth the read. If you want results, go to Beth! I will simply…read morecopy and paste excerpts from the letter I recently wrote to Beth after my son's college graduation. Dear Beth, You worked with our son around 2005-2006, between the ages of 20 months and 3 years old. I have memories of you and my husband chatting about your father's time at the Naval Academy - my husband is also a graduate. And who could forget those little chips you used to use to encourage my son to talk? Well, they worked! We will never forget your ability to connect with our son and work your magic, without labels, without judgement. Thinking back to when we first came to see you, it was such a challenging time. I had become a shell of myself after numerous "experts" hinted that something might be wrong with my son- though no one explicitly said "autism," we knew that's what they were implying. Our son was in what felt like endless therapy sessions - physical, speech, occupational, group, you name it - with no progress. We felt strongly that many of these therapies weren't the right fit for him, but any concerns we raised were dismissed. It was heartbreaking, and we felt like our son was being treated as a lab rat. Deep down, we believed he was fine, but as first-time parents, we felt lost and didn't know what to do about his lack of speech. Then we found you. After a brief assessment, you assured us that speech therapy was the primary need and referred us to one of your trainees. But I remember begging you to see him personally. Despite your incredibly long waitlist, you graciously agreed, opening your doors half an hour early twice a week just for him. Now, 20 years later, our son is a graduate of the USC Annenberg School of Communication, with a major in Journalism and a minor in Sports Media. His goal is to be an on-air broadcaster, and he's already working in the field. It seems he's certainly found his voice and will be talking for a living! Over the years, we've often thought of you and have shared our gratitude with everyone we know. You truly saved us from what felt like an impossible situation. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you do.

Narda tried multiple techniques until she connected with my son. The team is not only knowledgeable and professional, but also incredibly patient, caring, and truly invested in each child's progress. Since starting therapy, we've seen so much growth in our son--both in his communication and his confidence. The therapists take the time to tailor each session to his needs and always make it engaging and fun for him. What really stands out is how supported we feel as parents. They consistently provide guidance and helpful tips we can use at home, which has made such a difference in reinforcing his progress. We are beyond grateful for the impact they've had on our son and would highly recommend this clinic to any family looking for compassionate and effective speech therapy.

We looked for a Licensed Speech Therapist that would not only work with higher level speech therapy needs but also with simplistic ones as well, somewhere where you could feel the sense of care in there practice (like family) from someone who truly connected and embraced kindness and a feeling of empowering children with disabilities. From the first look at Sharons Web page and yelp i knew she was someone different and that there was meaning with a life dedicated to her practice. I thought if someone like this exist she must have a great staff. Through out the time we began January 2020 Till January 2021 our 5 now 6 year old son made extraordinary progress. Our son is not the easiest to get to focus. Sharons staff had no problem with using unique assignments, hands on activities and techniques to bring attention to focus to be able to adapt and make progress with all his challenges with I would not hesitate to meet or talk with Sharon She is a Shining Light in a Field where Knowledgable and Empowered Speech Therapist are far and few in between. Below is a picture of our son receiving his certificate of Progress. Thank you Thank you I hope this review speaks to someone looking for a One of a Kind Speech Therapist

After his first stroke, he was completely NPO with a PEG tube, and nearly every speech therapist believed there was little hope for progress due to his severe conditions. Finding Natalie felt like a miracle. Through her patience, expertise, and compassion, she helped him achieve what once seemed impossible: having his PEG tube removed and safely enjoying food again. Seeing him regain that independence was extraordinary, and Natalie was central to that progress. When he later suffered a second stroke and needed another PEG tube, Natalie never wavered. Her steady encouragement and dedication have brought our family comfort once again through this challenging journey. Natalie is gifted in her work, wonderfully kind, and genuinely caring. She treats my father with dignity and respect, and her impact has been profound. I wholeheartedly recommend Vital Speech & Swallow to anyone needing speech or swallowing therapy. We had the same therapist the entire time- Valerie and she is great! They use toys like cutting vegetables, fisher price farm and house, etc to get your little one to talk and pick up common words. (I recommend keeping the kids out of the toy closet!) My daughter progressed slowly over time and now says 2-3 word sentences when she was just saying maybe 10 words total when we started. She has not caught up completely as we started after she was 2 years old and about 1 year behind in her speech. I initially noticed she was not progressing and mentioned it to my pediatrician who just recommended that we continue monitoring her at 18 months. Sure enough by the 2 year mark she had not progressed much since she was 1 year old. She was evaluated by the regional center and her speech was at the 14month mark as I thought! Mamas listen to your gut and come see Valerie to help your child develop their speech. Thanks Valerie, we appreciate you! Now the part I didn't like- the parking! Like most businesses on Ventura, the parking is terrible! They have 3 tandem spots and some visitor parking for the whole building. Try to park behind your therapist if you can! One time I parked behind a Tesla and in the middle of our session, I had to leave with my daughter and move the car. Another time I was about to pull out and the Tesla driver came and pulled out in front of me! Rude! Minus 1 star for this. Other times there were no spots and I had to make a U turn to park at the meters on Ventura. They also have a tiny waiting room so don't come too early to your sessions. Their bathrooms are for the building and located outside.
