It might not have started great. Took long to get my daughter in for her assessment and then placed with a speech therapist. Had different therapists at first. But for the past year I've seen great improvement in her speech and articulation thanks to her therapist Joanna. She knows how to get her attention and makes it fun for her. My daughter likes going to speech. Joanna also shares activities and techniques to use at home to help my daughter even more. We've been at speech source for almost 2 years now and have 2 daughters in therapy. They've both have made so much progress! For speech they both see Joanna Ruano and she is seriously the best speech therapist. Super patient and it's been amazing seeing my girls progress all thanks to her! This review is long overdue, and I would not recommend this company. It's been several months with no updates or calls to schedule speech therapy for my child. Every time I followed up, I was told they were still working on creating an evening schedule and would try to place my child in the morning instead. What frustrated me the most was being told I was on a waiting list for the evening schedule, only for them to call months later with the same excuse. Plus I told them they never answer the phone , which is weird. My experience was disappointing, and based on this, I assumed their staff and policies would continue to be unprofessional, so I chose to go with a different provider. read more

Our first impression about this place was not bad at all. They were very kind with the first appointment over the phone to evaluate our daughter. My only adice is be careful with their "no show fee". I totally get it when Bussiness charge that because some people can be very disrespectful but I'm not that person as a matter affect, I did accommodate my schedule last minute twice for them but their are willing to reciprocate that. Our third appointment I assumed that they would be close for president's day. The first therapist I had for my son was not a good fit (She didn't even really make an effort to engage him, and proceeded to say he was disengaged ). That only lasted 2 sessions before I advocated for a new therapist for my son. When we meet Joanna, we fell in love. She goes above and beyond to support and engage and create opportunities for my son to speak. He went from only saying mama and wawa (water) at 2 1/2 years old, to putting 2 to 3 word sentences together in 6 months. He shows so much intention to speak and makes such a huge effort to tell us stories and recaps of things, I find myself crying almost everyday as my heart swells with so much joy. I am so grateful to her, she's amazing. Also, Lucy is so warm and welcoming. She made my son and I feel comfortable, as showing up for these therapies for the first time with my first born was a scary thing for us both. This welcome established the rapport needed with clients to maintain a healthy and happy journey! Just started OT and we love our therapist so far! My son has been coming here for a year and a half and he has made tremendous progress. Not only is it noticeable to our family, but our friends have all noted how much more they can understand him now. We were incredibly lucky to have been assigned Christina as his primary speech therapist from the get go. She is absolutely amazing in her work with him, both in person and on Zoom. Additionally, my son has also worked with a handful of other therapists and OTs such as Emily and Sonia and they have all been incredibly patient, friendly, very caring and warm. Front desk staff has always been communicative with appointments and rescheduling. Lucy is especially sweet and friendly...you definitely feel her absence when she's not there. Awful . As someone who has worked in office settings . This office lacks a lot of communication ! I was referred to their office , reached out to them multiple times was told they'd give me a call back NEVER did ! waited 2 months till I reached out again . I spoke to a lady over the phone mentioning they had an appt the next day scheduled me , and her co worker would call back to confirm the appt . Once her co worker called me she had no clue and tried to schedule me another month. She finally saw the appt after I shared i've been waiting for 2 months just to hear from them to get seen . The next day came of the appt , I receive A TEXT regarding my appt is canceled ! Not a phone call nor a voicemail a Text . I have never been to this office ! This was my first impression of them . My son has been at Speech Source Therapy at the facility on Wilshire since Nov 2019 today was his last day 10/2024 and I have to say that Alexandria is the best therapist on site and zoom (she is able to engage the child to respond that's hard on zoom with kids ) she is kind , caring, loving and fun. Occupational therapy- we did food therapy for my 6 year old. It was a good experience overall. We brought our own food. The facility was always clean. The staff was respectful and friendly. We had a Kaiser referral and it went great. They were always punctual and informed you of their progress and gave great home are advice. In order to have the therapy however, you must make the commitment of coming every single week around the same time so you can reserve the therapist. I definitely would recommend the facility for the occupational therapy. read more

I have been going to speech source for about 2 years. I moved my son from the previous location after a whole year because I didn't see any progress. At first we had Erika and she was great we loved her but due to scheduling we had to switch. We got paired with Joanna Ruano and Lauren Hamrick. My son goes to Joanna on Mondays and with Lauren on Thursdays. My daughter goes to Lauren every Wednesday. My kids have created such a beautiful bond with both of them. They are super sweet and caring and my kids are always just so happy to see them. My son is 5 and has a difficult time sitting still. Most of our sessions with Joanna are through zoom due to my schedule but she makes it interactive and he sits through most of it. She either reads to him or finds games he will enjoy to help him reach his goals in speech. She finds many ways to keep him engaged. When we see her in the office he never wants to leave. She remembered when my daughter had surgery and messaged me to check in on her. She's such a beautiful person. Lauren as well she is always so positive and always tells me how good my kids are doing. She catches words they say that I can't make out myself. She gives them so much attention and it just shows she loves her job. She has a dragon puppet that my kids are obsessed with. Joanna and Lauren are both very creative and have tried a different approaches with both their speech and it has helped so much. They communicate with each other so they know what we worked on during the previous session. They always guide me and give me tips to try at home which has helped. We really love working with Joanna and Lauren and I am just very grateful that we get to be with both of them. And I can't forget about Lucy. She is a sweetheart. We have received Infant Stimulation therapy for both of our daughters over the past four years and it has been instrumental in enabling our premature children to catch up with development and growth in all of the milestone categories. My girls and I have learned sooooo much from Melissa and I really don't know how we would have figured it all out without her expertise in child development! My daughter Lizette has been going to her speech therapy for a bit more than a year, and let me tell you guys something. Once you walking in and sign in you are greeted by the receptionist Lucy, she so kind and amazing, she know exactly which therapist my daughter has. Both speech therapist Chava and Michelle are so great and amazing with my daughter. With both of them, I've seen great progress, from only doing one word phrase to making sentences and expressing more on her feeling. I'm just so amazed and left in awe. Even when I can't make it due to my kids being sick or car troubles they find a way to still give her speech session via Zoom. The quality of work from the therapist is amazing they genuinely care about the kids' needs they help them as much as possible and they are understanding and patient with kids, my son loves going in for his class especially his therapist Janet who really does know what she's doing I can't say the same for management all they care about is the money it doesn't matter if your kid is sick and can't make it in they want to force zoom on them even if they are sick and can't focus on there zoom class, canceling 20 hours before is not an option they will still charge you the $40 it has to be exactly 24 hours then they want to say it's policy and it won't change no matter what the circumstances are. Customer service is not about the needs of the customer but the needs of the facility I don't like to take my kid in when sick because there are other kids there and would not like them getting sick because of my kid, it's not fair for them. read more

So hard for them to answer the phone. Just an fyi they charge $40 for canceling fee for same day they don't care if your child is sick or not. I called to inform them I was not going to take my son because he had a fever all night/morning and I'm taking him to the doctor. Right of the back they said there is a cancellation fee for the same day no matter the reason. Am I suppose to take him with a fever not feeling well and expose other people to possibly catch something? Seems all they care for is your money I have worked with specialist and they don't even have those rules because emergencies and getting sick can happen over night. read more

Speech source is just what my family needed. I've been coming since both my kids were 1 and 1/2. And it's taken a while but I've seen the patience dedication and the hard work that has been put in on my family's end and speech sources end. My son goes to the Paramount location for speech with Cynthia and for OT with Melissa. Since he has started with Cynthia he has went from speaking only 5-10 words to speaking in almost full sentences. She is so patient with him and truly understands his needs. She has taught me how to continue what we do in therapy at home and I have seen such a tremendous improvement in his communication skills. Melissa has also been such an amazing help to him. He is working through his sensory issues and we have seen a lot of improvement. He loves to come to therapy to play with his teachers. It has been such a positive experience. I love this clinic for my Kids..They are friendly and professional and always greet us with a smile in their face starting from the front desk with Cecy and Luci, they always have a smile on their face and answer any questions parents might have. The therapist are all excellent we always get a Hi from most of them even though they're not my kids therapists..We have Erika , Emeliy ,Eileen as our therapist they are the Best !!! I have been bringing my son for over 9 months now and I can't thank the wonderful staff at the Los Angeles location. Initially my son started with speech therapy with Ms. Alex and has been taking OT with Ms. Barbara for about a month now. He is always so excited to see Ms. Alex and Ms. Barbara that he doesn't want to leave at the end of his session. As a parent of a child that was saying less than 10 words at one point to seeing the progress that he has made is amazing and has brought happy tears to my eyes. I do have to say that it comes with being a team with our therapists, having lots of patience (that eventually pays off) and being consistent. There have been times where I would need to do makeup sessions (from both my end and the therapists) and they've been very accommodating, regardless of how busy they are. Overall, I'm very happy and so is my little one and I couldn't thank the team enough: Ms. Dahlia (who I got to work with and helped me with the startup), Ms. Stephanie who has been a pleasure and very helpful with helping me navigate with the startup of my son's OT and in general, Ms. Irene in speeding up the process for his OT approval and the scheduling, Ms. Alex for all the work you've done with my little one and for being able to share all the milestones he's done and lastly to Ms. Barbara, he looks forward to going to his session each time and is always so excited to play with you as he learns.
