I'm not the type to say anything but I asked for a basic French tip and the pink part was completely transparent, I could see the dirt under my nail. The shop manager answered so upbeat and welcoming. It was a funny and pleasant interaction us navigating our different accents but I was already sold. I'm here now and having a really good experience. They are Vietnamese and Tom's English is limited but there's a translator and I showed pics of my likes so all's well. Tom is very thorough and gentle. Immediately stopping and checking with me if I do so much as look up. He's already cleaned my cuticles and the powder is on. Now he's shaping and polishing so nicely I barely feel the tools touching my fingers. Sweet! Quality so great I'm emotional haha. I got dip powder and wasn't charged to remove my old set. Mind you, other Jersey spots quoted me $20 plus added to the service I requested! Yikes! The shop could be a tad cleaner/neater especially as I'm only their second client right now and the other Techs are just sitting around. Still, I go there for a nail repair for service received the week before and the manager tells me that I needed a new fill. My appointment scheduled the week before was for a new set but the technician determined that I didn't need it. I cannot believe how nasty the manager was to me. I was embarrassed and treated disrespectfully. I could almost understand if I wasn't maintaining my nails consistently with regular service at their salon for over two years. What's worse is that I was there only one week before and my nails were fine. When the manager forcefully removed the gel from the nail that was chipped, there was visible signs of a fungal infection that had developed. The manager blamed me for it. I will NEVER return to Venus Nail Spa again. Also, after the manager repaired the nail, he just walked away and never returned. Another employee later gave me a head nod signaling that I can leave. Awful customer service and no accountability for their mistakes.

While I waited I was able to pick my colors . I prefer bringing my own nail colors only because I like to do my own touch ups however I was able to pick my gel color for my manicure . I never get a gel but had to make sure my nails lasted two weeks as I have a few events coming up . Lilly took me to do my gel manicure . She was very nice and friendly and asked me what color I wanted and how I wanted my nails shaped. For my gel manicure I got the color cotton pajamas ( like a nude light pink color ) and I got gold glitter on my nails as well called golden bliss .
