Very disappointed with my nail experience here. Within one day of getting a gel manicure one of my nails had chipped, and within 7 days multiple have chipping paint. My mother also came with me to get nails done and also has multiple chipped nails after a gel manicure. Usually my gel polish lasts at least 2 weeks from other places so I don't think they did a thorough job here. They were also very busy and rushing through the process. I was trying to pick the right color and ask the technician for her opinion on what would look good , and she rushed me saying " I need to start your nails because I have another client " read more

Got my nails done and less than 24 hours later, my nails stated chipping. I don't even feel comfortable going back because when I got them done i wasn't happy with my result and asked in a very nice way to fix them and right away monce had an attitude and purposely hurt me with the nail drill while removing the top coat (I know she hurt me purposely because the first time around when she used it, she didn't nip me not even once on any of my fingers) she was very unprofessional and rude. I'm not the type to say anything but I asked for a basic French tip and the pink part was completely transparent, I could see the dirt under my nail. I went to Brisa's about a month ago, after the salon I was going to raised prices (I can understand and was not necessarily an issue for me) but also just became a bit questionable to me and the quality of the service. I went for a hard gel fill and it came out gorgeous! In fact I am finally going back today, after one month. Because of the light color, they grew out well and it was no damage to my nails. Everything about this nail salon is amazing especially the owners. I flew in from out of state and was desperate to get a manicure and gel nails before the morning. I called Brisa's and they went above and beyond to accommodate me. I seriously have never been treated so well and it was the owners themselves that took care of me. Absolutely amazing! This is my all time favorite nail salon. High quality service at an affordable price. From personal experience, I recommend everything from regular mani, gel mani, dip powder mani, to regular pedi, and even eyebrow wax. The owners are hard workers, customer service is very important to them, and they are careful about who they hire. Every experience I've had there is handled professionally. Clients are accommodated as much as possible and offered something to drink - water, tea, coffee, etc. As a client, I always feel valued and taken care of. If you feel you have a bad experience, just express it to them and I'm so sure they will do what they can to take care of you! One time my nail chipped prematurely and they fixed it immediately, no questions asked! Brisa's has a fun atmosphere. They usually have music or something playing in the background and they love to joke around with one another. Usually, they have paint on the windows and decorations for each season/holiday. I brought my mom here to get pedicures. Great experience. My mom hasn't had a pedicure in YEARS and the lady who did her toes was scrubbing. I got a gel mani and pedi by David who did extremely well on both. I was originally iffy that a male tech was going to do my nails but this was one of the better manicures I've gotten over the years. He was quick and meticulous and even shaped my nails facing him (like a normal tech) and then made me hold my nails (like a claw) as if it were my view and shaped them so all around no matter what angle, the shape was even. The price was fair and the place clean. It was a little cramped in there but they made do. The only reason I give four stars is because I felt like the girl techs were ganging up on him when he was just trying to work. It was random little things like blaming him for some mop head missing or sternly telling him he was trying to reach the outlet incorrectly. Also heard them gossiping and saying his name in a different language. Just overall weird vibe from them. I would go back and ask for him directly next time if I lived in NJ. I have been going to Brisa's for just about a year as of today I will not be returning. I made my usual 3 week appointment and when I arrived they asked me the color, and I picked French. My go to girl Jessica turned to me and said she didn't have time for that. In the past I have had French done with her, and she never expressed anything like that to me. I looked at her, as did Julianna in shock. I said to her, well that's the color I want. At that point I didn't want to even be there, but my nails were in a soak off process so I was stuck. The other girl Maria was nice enought to help Jessica to accommodate my needs. I don't blame the business itself but because of Jessica's handling of a loyal customer that also tipped her well, even up to the end...I will not be returning. Why should I have to suffer my choice of color because her previous client slowed her down??? I booked an appointment with another Salon in 3 weeks. Sorry Brisa's but you just don't tell a loyal customer you do not have time after I booked the appointment. Hence the downsized rating. read more

Came here because it's close to the Menlo Park mall and we were going to watch a movie afterwards. The technicians were friendly and did a great job although we only did a basic mani. There are about 5 technicians including the owner and a girl who was helping with phones and appointments. There is coffee, cappuccino, espresso, tea and hot chocolate provided. There's good and bad with this place. The Good: Friendly staff, clean salon, affordable prices. The first time I got a pedicure here I loved it. I came back a second time to get my nails done for my birthday. My boyfriend made the appointment but didn't mention I wanted a full set but they were nice enough to squeeze me in between appointments. The Bad: I would've completely understood if I got turned down for the full set, but it was insisted that I could be fit in and it could be done, so I let Yasmin do my nails. They came out absolutely horrible. The nails looked bulky, the French didn't come out straight at all, the shape wasn't what I wanted (and I had a picture). At first the nails were coming along great, but at a point it took a turn for the worst and it went downhill fast. I was so disappointed. I'm giving the tech the benefit of the doubt since I assume she was rushing, but don't say you can do my nails and then rush and leave me walking away with something I didn't ask for. The pedi even chipped later that day too. Thankfully a different tech was able to rush me into her salon the next day and they came out stunning. All in all a decent place, but I wouldn't trust them with a mani or pedi for a big event. read more

I have been going to Brisa's for over a year now and I can say that I always leave this salon super satisfied! I always go in for a spa pedicure and a dip powder manicure. If you're looking to relax and get a really great pedicure I would definitely recommend their spa pedicure! They use different scrubs, lotion, leg mask, hot stones, etc. & the dip manicure lasts for a long time! Mine normally can last up to 4-5 weeks. The dip powder also really helps my natural nails grow! I never leave Brisa's without feeling super pampered! When ever I call In to schedule my appointments they are always very friendly and accommodating with scheduling, whether you are making an appointment for yourself or if you want to schedule an appointment with a friend. All the girls there are really nice & professional. I've had my nails and toes done by most of the girls there and none disappoint! Ultimately, Brisa's truly cares about the customer experience! Went here before my honeymoon trip knowing the pricing is much more than my usual 2 spots but believe "you get what you pay for" so I thought I'd splurge for the occasion. The staff is friendly, great warm feeling in the salon & they were also able to accommodate my last minute appointment and even a schedule change! They also even offer you tea and coffee while you get service However I was sooooooooooooooooo let down few days into my trip and my gel pedicure was already chipping. My pink and white powder tips were already raising up from the nail bed, looking horrific and one broke within the first week! I love Brisas the energy is always positive and warm and they give the best gel manicure in the area. Today there was a VERY unruly customer who came a half and hour late and then complained about them messing up the appointment she was very hostile, hot tempered and the ladies handled it very well. I gave the location one star for my experience last friday. I found this location online and needed a pedicure at the last min. I went in after calling and knew this was a 30$ pedicure so I expected it to not be average. The service I received was below average and unrecommended. The lady who was doing my pedicure literally put just one coat of polish on so now I can see thru to my nail and as far as the hot stones and massage that lasted all of 45 seconds. For 30$ other areas look better and do more for that price. First time customer: I called ahead like 10 minutes and they were able to take me. I've had a few bad experiences with nail salons that I never tried before so I was a tad apprehensive. But they couldnt have been nicer and gentler. Color: At first glance, they didnt seem to have too many colors especially compared to my usual salon. But I think it only looked that way because the polishes are split into three sections. When I asked for a specific new essie fall/winter color they were able to pull it right out. I couldn't really figure out a good way to take a pic, so I'll let my review speak for itself! I got a full spa pedicure ($50) and a gel manicure ($30) and both turned out great. It is slightly more pricey compared to other places, but has a good atmosphere and I was able to get an appointment on the same day. The place is a bit small so would recommend booking ahead. One star goes to ONLY their customer service but the wax service offered by Maria is awful! My first visit there for a Brazilian, upper leg, underarm, and whole face .... she took one hour and 10 mins only doing my face and underarm so i had to cut it short and not get the Brazilian and legs due to time limit! Why do you even offer this service in an extremely tight and tiny room just a bed and a little room for the waxing lady and the interesting part is all these huge rednesses all around my face and I have a party coming on Friday! I have been going to this nail salon for about a year now and never had any problem, up until a few weeks ago. I went in to get my UV gel set taken off. Followed by this they usually give me a small manicure by trimming and filing down and fixing my cuticles and put clear nail polish on. This time the girl, I forget her name, took my UV gel set off and said I was done and sent me on my way. My nails were awful looking with some gel still on it and my tips looking rough. From that day my nails have been breaking constantly and are just terrible in general. I don't want to give this place a 1 star due to one bad experience, but that experience has just made me second guess returning. Maybe I will one day in the future. read more

I've waited exactly one week to write this review because I really wanted to like this place. It's closer to home than my favorite place, there are great reviews on Yelp, and they were kind enough to squeeze me in on a Sunday afternoon. But that's where the fun ended. The staff are nice and the shop is meticulous. It's not a big place, but that's part of its charm. My nails were done by Jennifer, and they are horrible! So much so that I've been back once since my initial appointment last Sunday, and my nails are still awful. I actually took them off because my fingers were sore from excessive filing and nails that broke at the quick. I type and draw for work. Can you imagine trying to use fingers with nails broken down to the quick??? It's painful! Since the initial fiasco, which resulted in my half-inch long nails being cut WAY too short, to the follow-up where I received extensions where one broke before I even got home - this has been a continuous nightmare. After 3 of the extensions broken within one day, I asked for my money back. The tech, Jennifer, said she'd refund me, but I've been chasing her for three days. To say I'm upset wound be an understatement. Please note that this review is not a reflection of the shop or the owners; as I found those aspects to be in tact. But Jennifer butchered my nails, then jacked up the repair. I have since removed the remaining gel and acrylic, and I'm left with nails that were over-filed so they are paper thin and extremely sensitive. I can definitely see the allure of this place, and I was hoping to make it my new place for great nail care. Unfortunately the snake has already bitten me twice, so shame on me.... Oh, and I still don't have my money back. UPDATE: went there today at 5:10p and the owner, Maria, refunded my money. She apologized, which she's done in the past. I appreciate the apology, and she offered me another tech if I'm willing to give them another try. Maybe when my nails heal, I'll give them another try.... read more
