    Croissant french toast

Crab Benedict benny YUMMM. Real crab from what it seemed. Didn't taste fishy. I sat at the bar and the bartender modified my drink order to prevent it from being too sweet when i ordered some lychee cocktail with the sweet pea coloring. So that's why the picture has no purple coloring. I definitely did not need to add any of that stuff because I'm all about the lychee and it was perfect. The croissant french toast was BOMB. I really wanted to come back the next day to try the chicken and waffles but alas i went elsewhere. Highly recommend. It's in downtown so they don't have their own separate parking. The place is super cute and well lit. 10/10!

    Sweet potato shishito hash

Good place for brunch. The space is open with big ceilings and very bright decor. It feels and is very lively with bar seating. I got the sweet potato shishito hash that was decent. The hash were cubes with lots of veggies and the shishitos had that nice soft kick to the breakfast meal. My friend got the side of potatoes that were very garlicky and delicious. My friends ordered the lavender hour iced matcha with ube cream that they seemed to have like well. The staff were nice and attentive and this place can get very busy during busy times where you'll have potentially long wait times.

Nice to have another Bloom location because the one in Santa Clara is pretty small and always crowded. Came on a Saturday morning at 11 and it was a 45 min wait, largely due to the run club downtown on Saturday mornings but the wait wasn't bad. I got the breakfast sandwich was was super filling and the croissant French toast for my friends and I to share. The portions are huge so we barely made a dent but everything was delicious!

Lavender hour- which is a matcha latte with ube cold foam

Had brunch here and I got the avocado toast and the ube lavender matcha latte. I got an avocado toast and the price is decent if it's just plain avocado, but with the ad ons it came out to $24. That price is pretty steep for an avocado toast. The latte is pricey for $12. The name actually is a little bit confusing since it's called Lavender Hour, so I thought it would be a lavender matcha but the lavender refers to the color of the ube cold foam. I couldn't really taste the matcha flavor, it was more ube forward. I'll likely come back to try more food and I'd skip the matcha latte. They have other matcha places nearby for cheaper and it was just ok. The presentation is nice though, but $12 for a matcha latte is really expensive. Overall it was a nice experience. The servers were nice and attentive and it was clean and had nice ambiance.

Bloom is my favorite brunch spot in the Bay Area. The croissant sandwich is amazing as is the croissant French toast. I tried to Spanish chorizo Benedict for the first time. It reminded me of a pizza which I wasn't expecting. The flavor was amazing and the English muffin was crispy on the bottom All the way to the last bite. I don't know how they've done that. I've never had it made that way before. There's a lot shorter wait here at the San Jose location. I came in on a Saturday afternoon and only waited about five minutes.

I love Blooms Santa Clara location but this one is better! Lots of natural light, spacious seating areas and less ambient noise. And no line to get in (though that may change ) The food is just am delicious as the original location. Service is fast and very friendly. Tried done new items and everything was great. We will be making this our new favorite.

I'm sooo happy we finally have a legit, delicious breakfast eatery in downtown SJ! I've been to their other location so I was excited to see this here downtown, much needed delicious breakfast place is what we needed with delicious, fresh, well portioned options. Drinks: coffee is delicious, the water comes in a cool glass bottle, and they have a full service bar too! Seating area: ample, gorgeously decorated and doesn't feel dark or cramped. Menu: so options but we chose the churro waffles and chicken and waffles, the waffle on its own was so delicious but the added dulce de leche and berries along with the syrup made for a delicious bite and not overly sweet. The hubster was like try the chicken... hesitantly I did and so glad I did... it was crunchy outside with a delicious batter but juicy inside, not at all dry or greasy. Service: Maddie and our host were welcoming, attentive and kept the coffee going, she made sure our cup was full with fresh hot coffee which we appreciated. Pricing: the price point was very area appropriate especially because the food is fresh and delicious! Other deets: bathroom (shout out to clean bathroom establishment's) was clean and while it didn't need to be mentioned it kinda should lol Parking: you have the option of street of several garages which makes for a nice walk around the area after to walk off your meal. Pets: we all have them in this area, your pup is welcomed if they are well behaved and can sit under the table quietly and comfortably and service dogs certainly welcomed. Final thoughts: They MUST BE SUPPORTED! We NEED a legit brunch and breakfast spot in this area, do your part to support this small business and if you work in the area order to go! We will definitely be back!

    Chicken Apple Sausage Scramble

Bloom Eatery & Spirits was a great brunch spot overall. We ordered the bacon, Garden Scramble, and Chicken Apple Sausage Scramble, and everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The portions were surprisingly large, and I left feeling completely full, which is always a plus. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the food came out fresh and satisfying. My only complaint was regarding the water service. I assumed the water was complimentary, so I was a bit surprised when I saw a $16 charge on the bill. I tend to drink a lot of water while eating, and it would have been nice if the staff had mentioned there was a charge beforehand so there weren't any surprises at the end. Aside from that, the food was excellent and the portion sizes offered great value. I'd definitely come back, but I hope they make the water charges clearer to guests in the future.

It was our first time here at the new Bloom location and everything was great! The interior is beautiful there, and the service was excellent. Our server Skylar was great, and her recommendations were as well. I highly recommend any Benedict with a side of the duck fat potatoes, candied bacon, the churro waffle, and their chicken pesto sandwich! I can't wait to go back and try more dishes.

I haven't been to their other location yet, so I can't compare to it, but this space is in a great spot downtown. It's right across the street from a favorite of mine. It's bright and open and airy inside, though it doesn't particularly standout in decor/vibes. They have a little bar area with a tv, but it's not a sports bar type of vibe. There's an array of menu items to choose from, as well as cocktails. The espresso martinis aren't actually made with espresso, but with cold brew. When places do that, they need to balance out the lack of flavor and strength in the coffee and will often supplement with syrups and liquors, making it taste sweet and watered down at the same time - that's how theirs were. Would definitely not order again. They do have some other fun looking cocktails though so I'll definitely try something else out the next time. Food was much better and portions were aplenty! Service from host to server was good. Looking forward to coming back to try other options!

Another solo venture led me to Bloom. Brunch places are my jam and of course this place came up highly rated on Yelp, so I had to try it duh. It was fairly busy, the wait was about 5 minutes since they didn't have any room at the bar, I waited for a table. The space is delightfully bright and super cute inside. I got seated. They immediately brought a carafe of water and the server came right over to take my order. They had several specialty cocktails on the menu along with some expected originals, Bloody Mary's/ Mimosa's, etc. The popular item appeared to be the breakfast sandwich and they had a variety of Benedict's on the list. I was feeling a very standard eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast situation. Holy duck fat fried potatoes for the win, they were perfectly crisp and fluffy on the inside. The bacon had a sweet glaze on it and perfectly over easy eggs and sourdough toast. Overall everything was great and will definitely be going back to try some of the other items on the menu.

We checked out the new Bloom location in Downtown San Jose on its Grand Opening day and it did not disappoint. The location is fantastic, the space has a great vibe, and the menu has so many good options it was honestly hard to choose. The owner, Reza, was greeting folks and checking in with tables throughout. Edgar, a server (not serving us), gifted my son some mini cars which was so great instead of them being upset that he was so energetic! We ended up ordering a few different things to share, and the portions are huge: Chilaquiles: Packed with flavor, perfectly sauced, and piled high with eggs and toppings. California Benedict: Fresh, rich, and served on a great piece of thick-cut toast with a mountain of avocado and bacon. (The side of fresh berries was a nice touch!) Chicken and Waffles: Super crispy, juicy chicken over fluffy waffles. It even got the kid-approved stamp of approval! Everything tasted fresh and came out beautifully presented. Definitely add this spot to your brunch rotation if you're in the area. We'll absolutely be back to try the rest of the menu!

They just opened this location today. My friend and I were supposed to go for brunch across the street but seeing this place (and their cute opening balloons) here we decided to support them. We both love the Santa Clara location and been there a few times. We're so stoked to see this bigger location. Service is always great. We saw and spoke to a few same familiar staff from the other location. Food and drinks are consistently good. My favorite is the sishito meal. I love the slight spicyness balancing the richness of the oil. This time I ordered the crab bene. Big portion, really good amt of crab. Love the whole grain mustard on the English muffin. This place is definitely bigger, cozy and a bit more modern but it still has the same welcoming feel like the other location has. We're so happy for their success.

Tried two of the cocktails at Alter Ego. Overall, both have different vibes. Alter Ego is good for a more intimate dark setting date vibe. Service was pretty good at Still OG! The Asian bartender checked in several times and was really nice as well as provided some recommendations on which happy hour specials were most popular which helps since I'm indecisive. The back does seem like a more classy environment and I'd choose this setting over a dive bar any day. We also ended up getting an order of the Chicken skewers, which were super tender and juicy. We were too late on our visit, but they do have a daily happy hour that includes some of the skewers and fries, as well as some drinks and shots. We quickly learned that it's actually closer to $40 since you need to buy a $14-17 mocktail/cocktail. I'll be honest, I don't drink that much so I can't tell you if that's expensive but it does feel like a bit of a bait and switch. We ordered truffle fries, koji wings, the classic burger and two prime rib dinners. All of the food arrived at different times so some of it was already cold before we started eating. I know we could start eating whatever comes out first but let's be honest. Dining with friends is a very social event and it's somewhat standard for dishes to arrive together. I also ordered subbed truffle fries, was charged the sub, but ended up getting regular fries Food-wise, the koji wings were pretty good. There was a good amount of seasoning and the breading texture was super crispy. The meat itself was a bit bland. Truffle fries were super crunchy and had a balanced truffle flavor. Burger was fine. I've definitely had and made better burgers before. It was a pretty standard burger. Cooked good. A bit overpriced for how mild of a burger it was though. Prime rib was a huge portion. I only had a couple bites from my friends but it seemed well-seasoned. Some parts were nice and tender but the red parts were very chewy. Overall, main dishes were OK in portion but lackluster in experience. Side portions are on the smaller end considering their price but generally delicious. Considering their extensive alcohol collection, I think this place is definitely known for its vibe and drinks rather than its food. Staff seem super friendly though! Especially the bartenders
