This is the best to go for breakfast. Food is always good. Staff are always very friendly and accommodating. Bathroom are wheelchair accessible. You can't go win here. We absolutely love this place and usually always sit at the same table each time we come. read more

we went in for the first time and will be back. a great breakfast sandwich of bacon egg cheese on an English muffin was taller than any I've seen. a side order of tater tots were ridiculously large, and delicious. A basic order of 2 scrambled eggs and 2 sides (I choose fruit and cinnamon raisin toast) it was well cooked and more than enough for me to eat. we will be back. read more

Well, it's breakfast place. I guess they do lunch, too. Some interesting choices on the menu sound way better than they come out of the kitchen. The restaurant is nice enough, they did a nice job salvaging the space from the dark BBQ joint which used to live here, but service was spotty, and the place was pretty dirty. The floor was covered with old pieces of peoples' dropped breakfasts. My wife ordered some sort of eggless Benedict with a funny name that should have indicated that it didn't include any egg, but she didn't catch the nuance. That would have been okay, except for that it was essentially an avocado slice with some spinach and stuff, smothered in cheese and grilled to within an inch of its life. It was supposed to be some sort of vegan option or something, but was kind of scary with all the hard-grilled cheese. Okay, live and learn. I ordered what should have been a standard ol' breakfast, and this is where it really knocks the rating down a star. A couple of eggs (a single egg is over $5!) with some homemade corned beef hash. Mmm, I loves me some homemade corned beef hash! Uhm...not so much. This was NOT hash. It was more like pulled pork, except with brisket. Huge pieces of brisket, with a smattering of tiny potato pieces and some onion. It was not hash at all. It was shredded brisket. That actually sounds okay if that's what I had wanted for breakfast, but I really just wanted some crispy hash to eat with my hot-sauce-covered eggs. Oh, and the crispy part; I specifically order the hash "crispy." It was a soggy mess. I'm not sure I will give Blondie's another try, but I probably should. It seems to draw a crowd, and it can't really be as bad as the breakfast we experienced. Really, on every level it was just not a place that wanted to make me return. Best breakfast spot in town! The wait staff is wonderful, especially on the weekends. They work so hard, and food is always fresh. The array of options can be overwhelming, but I love the French Toast, and often have the Eggs Benny. This place never disappoints! read more

Bloodies is a pretty standard diner but where they really excel is their service. The staff are very welcoming and treat everyone lovely. We'll definitely be back when visiting family in the future. read more

Good breakfast food but service is lacking! There's one lady at the counter who is responsible for take out, answering phones, cashing out customers and bussing tables. Waiters were all standing behind the counter but weren't helping this poor lady at all. When I asked a waitress to ring me out she said she can't touch the cash register. Sucks that this is the only decent place for breakfast in willimantic because the service sucks. read more

We showed up with a group of 10 and had to split up which is understandable because of covid. Although, the service was very iffy. It took a long time to even get our order in (close to 25 minutes), and the food took 40 minutes to come out. Some meals we ordered were missing or wrong, and when we told them that they got the order wrong they told us we were wrong. They also sat us at a dirty table. We asked for napkins and water and never got them, and nobody ever checked in on us to see how the food was. But the food was good! read more

Personally, I feel Kat G.'s review was way harsh, she only spent 10 minutes in the restaurant and didn't even eat. That could've been a bad day. I feel like a place should have to be constantly horrible to get a single star. To the point at hand, I've been to Blondie's several times since it has opened and am just now writing a review so I've had time to reflect. I really enjoy coming here. I'm oblivious to the world, but you can't miss those striped walls. I think the restaurant is very visually appealing. That's not what I'm looking for in my dining experience, but it doesn't hurt. As a native Texan, I have a special place in my heart for spicy. That's why my go to is the Mexican Scramble. I like equally portioned pieces of food in each bite and this is perfect because everything is diced to my liking. The home fries are on point and I'm very picky about home fries (as stated in previous reviews). I was saving the best for last, COFFEE IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF MY MEAL. My son tends to lean toward the M&M Pancake. It's the size of the plate and is not expensive. He never eats the whole thing, as a good mother, I help him out. If we take it home, it reheats really well and 2 breakfast are taken care of. They don't have kids meals, but they have always let me and my son make our own meals (eggs over medium, dry rye and extra crispy bacon on non-scramble days) and the price is comparable to if they told you what you should order. All that matters to me is that they have coloring books (or old-school iPads if you prefer). The owner, Julie, is almost always there. She's not all ownery, she's part of the team and appears to treat her customers and employees with respect, that's important to me. Sherri is my go-to girl though. I hadn't been in months and she remembered me and asked about my son. She's super outgoing and never dull. I always feel comfortable at Blondie's, it's close, it's locally owned and the food is delicious. I'll keep coming, you should try it. read more

Great breakfast place! Weekends this place is packed and for good reason, portions are huge, prices are fair and the quality of the food is great. We went during the week and had no wait, the inside is spacious, bathrooms are clean and waitstaff was on top of their game. All of our food arrived hot and within a reasonable amount of time. I have been here twice and both times disappointed. Both times I ordered an omelette and, although I ordered a different kind, both times it was the same issue: paper thin egg where about 1/4 of it has no filling. The filling is not even really a filling, just a lump of meat and veggies that a thin folded egg is draped over. Omelettes should be fluffy and evenly filled...these are not. They are small and thin. Also, the filling is lower quality than expected, where the meat was tough and the cheese turned to a watery mess. The portion is also disappointing. This was the case with the Philly Willy I just had. My companion ordered the veggie omelette and had the same issues, only with quality and quantity of veggies. She also agreed it was not an omelette and more of a scramble with thin, overcooked egg. read more

Went here with a friend for lunch last Wednesday. Staff is very friendly the place is nice and clean. We each had a tossed salad and split an omelette. they have an extensive breakfast menu but the lunch menu is not. While the omelette toast and home fries were good the salad was not. The salad consisted of white ish iceberg lettuce sliced pale tomatoes and cucumbers. Weak at best :( they offer interesting specials listed on a chalkboard make sure you read it because it's not verbally announced. read more

Awesome breakfast! Went here on a Sunday morning around 10:30 only had to wait about 10 min for a table. Service was quick and the portions were so big!!! Blondie's special is what I got 3 eggs cooked the way you like a pile of bacon, home fries, toast, and a pancake and we ordered a side of the corned beef hash which is Home made! From two people with long work histories in the food industry, this place has no compliments from us. After the smack down that covid put on all of the restaurants out there, I can understand the struggle to find employees. What I can't understand is why so many servers and cooks just don't really give a crap about quality of food or service. The prices have gone up for reasons I understand and I'm willing to pay them if I walk into a place. What I don't get is why they expect us to pay crazy prices for something they put zero effort into. I'm not just picky either. Food of the kind I DIDNT order stuck to the bottom of my dishes. Ordering something and having to ask for it two times from two separate people since someone different was sent to bring the food out. One of us ordered the steak "bomb" which was awful. It was just a sloppy steak and cheese on a hard roll and when they brought it there were visible scrambled eggs stuck to the meat. She then asked if we wanted it recooked. Of course we do like wtf? So the food was sloppy and thrown together. The service was slow and not attentive or concerned really if things were ok or not, otherwise they wouldn't have run that food to me looking that way in the first place. It was expensive as well. I'm sick of hardly going out to eat and when I'm finally willing to spend the money to have a meal somewhere other than home, I get ripped off and grossed out. I've eaten breakfast at Blondie's a few times now. Service has been great and food is tasty and the restaurant is clean! The bacon, egg and cheese sandwich is awesome!!! Generous portions of everything that is served along with never-ending coffee refills! I would encourage all who made reviews right after the restaurant first opened to return now that the restaurant has been open a few months! When my husband and I started going here, the staff was fantastic and super friendly! The food is pretty good, as well. But, the last few times we have been in, the servers have been rude and tend to not check in with their tables often. Once we waited twenty minutes to put our orders in and they never brought us our coffees until we asked again as our food was coming out. I completely understand when it is busy that service will be slower, but it's not right to see your waitress chit chatting with other tables (even sitting down with them for 5 minutes) and completely ignoring you as they walk by. In short, this place is okay for a decent breakfast, but I wouldn't count on the staff to be stellar. read more

I went to blondie's for brunch yesterday. Some of the staff were nice. Our waitress seemed to be inexperienced and want very friendly, she also didn't seem very familiar with the menu. The food was average at best. The period were pretty large, but I would rather have a smaller portion of a higher quality. I did have one problem. I brought my kids there with me, and they don't offer a children's menu. They were accommodating by splitting one regular portion onto two separate played for the kids, but that only works if you have an even number of kids that agree on what they want. I won't be going there again. My advice to abhor that wants a really good breakfast in that area would be to go to "That breakfast place" instead. They not only have big portions and good prices at that breakfast place, but their food is far superior to Blondie's. read more

Went for breakfast this morning with my boyfriend; we drove together and as I put my name in, he walked to the bank immediately next door. I had a party of three in front of me, party of two behind me while I waited maybe 5 minutes. Although it was busy, it wasn't "insane" by any means. The hostess calls my name and when I go up front she won't sit me because my boyfriend isn't with me. She didn't mention that he had to be there in order for me to be seated nor was there any signage stating such "rules". She explains it's because I could make them wait 30 minutes before he comes; he was there as I walked out so MAYBE 2. And it was because there was a line behind me; AGAIN a party of two waited behind me, that is it. And if she had asked, I would have been okay with them being seated first. As a small, "hometown" business, shame on you for your lack of customer service. Word travels fast, and your business will not last when you are causing people to turn away and go to one of the many other breakfast places in town. read more
