This place has a nice parking lot with ample spots. The inside is a typical local diner. Bright, clean, plenty of booths and counter seating. Huge menu with lots of options which I appreciated. Service was quick and efficient. I got the smoked salmon Benedict with home friends (opted for the sautéed onions) and it was pretty good. We also split a pancake and it was just ok. Overall very decent spot to eat. Prices where a little higher than I would expect but the portions were very good. I love a heavy pour of hollandaise sauce and was not disappointed! read more

The plate consisting of two Eggs, Smashed Potato, Rye Toast, and Sausage ($12.50) was pretty good, though I probably should have ordered the home fries or hash browns - my bad for trying to make a healthier choice in a joint like this. Speaking of trying to be "healthy" - I love that the Avocado Toast is smothered with a heaping serving of bacon. Good diner grub but pricy On the hunt for good French toast, saw that this place was rated a great hole in the wall breakfast joint. So I opted to make the trek here to try them out. Place is designed to be a diner, with the old school booths and the bench seating. Server was very nice and accommodating. The menu was huge, lots of choices in a small font. Instead of a special, I opted for the cinnamon Toast crunch French toast. Food came out very rapidly. The coffee is Omar's, not great but functional. I don't usually associate strawberries, Nutella, chocolate sauce, and bananas with cinnamon Toast crunch. But I was intrigued on the flavor profile. The fruits were ripe and sweet, the whipped cream was fresh, they used a huge amount of Nutella and chocolate sauce. To the degree that I had to scrape off Nutella to get to the French toast underneath. The actual French toast was underwhelming. Not soaked enough, more bread than custard. There wasn't a lot of cereal and the cinnamon was overwhelmed by the other flavors. Pricing is a little high for the area and for breakfast. They know they are one of the best places around and they charge accordingly. Two pieces of French toast with a coffee came to 18, which isn't cheap. As a local diner breakfast place, it's pretty good. Given that I need to pass five other breakfast places that offer similar quality cheaper or more quantity for the same money, it's not worth a trek. Service was great. My 1st time here. I got 2 eggs over easy, white toast and grilled smashed potatoes with bacon. Food was delicious eggs cooked perfectly, bacon had great flavor. I enjoyed my meal very much. They also have a great menu of lots of options. They also have a lunch menu. I want to try them for lunch sometime. Definitely doing another breakfast there to try something else. If you're looking for some place to get breakfast give this place a try. The grilled smashed potatoes were very good. Love the shredded hash browns too 1/2 a star off for typical weak diner coffee and underwhelming smashed potato --but in many ways it's what to be expected. Stopped in for lunch today to enjoy the great food and customer service. Restaurant was not busy so we were greeted immediately and told we could sit where we wanted. Our server, who was very pleasant, arrived quickly and took our drink order. When she returned we placed our order. Two eggs scrambled with cheddar cheese, two fried potato cakes, Irish eggs Benedict with home fries well done with onions. Also ordered a blueberry muffin and corn muffin both grilled. Order came quickly with the eggs being cooked as requested and the muffin grilled to perfection. Potato cakes were nicely fried, crisp and golden. Eggs cooked perfectly with a nice coating of cheddar cheese. Eggs Benedict was a large portion of corned beef shredded under two perfectly cooked eggs sitting on English muffins. The whole dish was covered in a rich hollandaise sauce with excellent flavor and a hint of lemon.home fries were well cooked as requested with plenty of onions added. The eggs were soft and the yolks ran all over the beef and muffins once they were cut open. Between the eggs and hollandaise sauce there was plenty of delicious tasting sauce to run through and coat the potatoes. It all made the dish one of the most memorable I've had in a long time. I decided to come here for breakfast while visiting my kids at college. It was a very good choice. We got in at the beginning of a rush but we were seated in short order. The staff was very attentive and gave some good recommendations for the undecided. The ticket times were great, I was just beginning to enjoy my coffee and the food was served. I had the meat lovers omelette with home fries and toast. It was really good and everyone in my family enjoyed their meals. The pancakes are huge just in case anyone orders them. Wow! We were visiting my son at UConn and found this charming little place. It has the vibe of a small town diner, but with upscale food- including gluten free options! I had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict on gf toast, with the hash browns, and both were outstanding. My son loved the cinnamon crunch waffle and the hubs really enjoyed the biscuits with gravy. Our server was super friendly and the service was surprisingly quick, especially since the place was packed. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

We ordered the breakfast quesadilla, the special peach French toast and the loaded scramble. First of all- home fries have no business being that good. I never get them when we go out because I can make them better. These were amazing. The peach French toast with the homemade whipped cream were perfect. I crave savory breakfasts so I was worried about it being too sweet but the cinnamon and fluffy French toast offset the peach and cream. The quesadilla was pretty good. The tortilla was a bit soggy on the bottom from the steam, so that was a little disappointing but not bad. I would have liked more cheese on it, but the flavors were really nice. read more

We visited That Breakfast Place for a nice Sunday brunch around 10am. The restaurant has its own parking lot which was nice. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived and we were put on a waitlist for about 15-20 minutes. No big deal as we were not in a hurry. If you're uncomfortable with crowds though this place would not be recommended as every table was full. We were greeted by the nicest waiter who kept apologizing for any wait time, etc. No big deal he was super nice, attentive, and was working really hard at maintaining all his tables. Our group ordered a variety of items off the menu and everyone loved their entrees. I ordered the egg platter that came with choice of eggs, bread, potatoes, breakfast meat, and choice of pancakes/french toast. I couldn't decided between French toast or pancakes and the waiter was kind enough to tell me I could have one of each. The waiter recommended the French toast over the pancake and I'll confirm that he was right! The French toast was really good and I'd definitely order it again. The pancake was a bit dry in texture and I would not recommend it nor would I order it again. My eggs were prepared correctly as ordered (over easy) and the plate came with two large crispy hash browns! My entree also came with a very large side of bacon which was four big strips. I had to share with the table or else I could not finish! Our bill was $45+ for 4 people total which was a great price for the quantity and value of our entrees. In my opinion just shows how restaurants are passing on cost to the customer. 40 is a bit high for this guy. I do have to say the staff is extremely courteous and the food is served quickly. Our planned breakfast place was closed (even restaurant owners need a vacation!) on a Friday morning so when the hubby and I went looking for an alterative we found "That Breakfast Place" and hadn't ever been here! It was a little later in the morning so they were not super busy, but we grabbed a spot at the counter. The menu had lots of interesting items but we kept it on the classic side for the most part this visit. I tried the regular coffee (great!) and a flavored coffee (cookies and cream or something ... and I wasn't a fan), and I had an ice coffee to go that was perfectly made. I got the loaded scramble and really enjoyed it, the hubby got the pork pie which was really interesting and really tasty. We need to go back so I can try some of the crazy waffles (peanut butter and bananas and bacon and stuff yum!). The wait staff was a constant pleasant buzz there at the counter. We'll definitely be going back in the not too distant future. read more

Fiancé and I came in for brunch because we saw this place had great reviews and left very disappointed. We ordered a hot chocolate, 2 large chocolate chip pancakes, and a breakfast plate with 2 eggs, toast, hash brown and bacon. We got the hot chocolate and we noticed that it was powder hot chocolate and that half of it was still dry and unmixed. The waitress also informed me that sourdough bread has an extra charge (which I assumed would be like $0.50-$1.00 max) and I said that was fine. What I didn't realize is that it was +$2.50 for 4 half slices of bread. Their "hash brown" is actually hash brown PATTIES which I was not expecting. I asked the waitress if they had shredded hash brown and she said yes and swapped it out for me so that was nice. My fiancés pancakes were also abysmal. They were very large but the chocolate chips were completely burnt on the bottom of the pancakes. The pancake also just tasted like straight dough. Definitely not worth $11.75. Maybe we just caught them in a bad moment but we don't think we'll be back for a round 2 anytime soon. read more

For a breakfast place that was packed, had a wait for a table, and been recommended by several friends, I didn't enjoy the experience of eating here. The eggs Benedict I had tasted greasy. The same for the omelette my husband had, greasy. Our friend with us will eat everything and anything, so he thought his breakfast was great. The waitress was lovely and worked diligently to ensure we were cared for. Yet, with the place being filled to capacity and little space between tables, the din of conversations echoing off the walls overwhelmed any conversation we tried to have. Breakfast is hard to enjoy when one's sense of space feels encroached upon and sense hearing is bombarded. As loved as this place is by many individuals, there are other options in Willimantic and the surrounding towns that have less greasy food and quieter environments. read more

Excellent food in what feels like a "locals" secret. We were on our way home from Foxwoods, where yesterday we had an overpriced meh breakfast buffet at Trattoria Caputo. I Googled for breakfast spots and found this little gem. Easy to get to, easy parking, and we just beat a rush. Our food was tasty and plentiful. I had the apple bread french toast special and my husband had a Philly cheese steak breakfast sandwich. We should have split the french toast since it was such a large portion. Pretty good breakfast but way over priced. I've eaten inside once and gotten to-go once. Both times the food was ready really fast and the waitresses were nice. When I ate inside I got a simple breakfast of eggs, sausage, and French toast with chocolate milk. Nothing else since I just shared with my baby. It was about $25. I ordered to-go of 2 chocolate chip pancakes and the French toast with strawberries special with 2 sausage patties. $5 per patty! The total was $45. The pancakes had hardly any chocolate in them and must of been almost $10 each. The strawberries were mushy out of a jar, not fresh. Just seems so high to me for 2 breakfast meals. No potatoes, no eggs, no drinks. read more
