the music was kinda offensive, explicit, and felt like the club. don't bring your grandma here, but the the food was AMAZING! the food came out so quickly and it was HOT. get the chicken box, you won't regret it. they have the best shirley temples in baltimore, using black cherries. i haven't had a bad meal here. the biscuits and apple butter could use some love but it's a great experience. i would order takeout just to skip the in dining experience but have some good food. also the photo booth is super random and in the way so try not to sit in the back dining room. the experience in the main room is better. read more

This place is a diamond in the city! The detail and thoughtfulness in decor and atmosphere shows great attention to detail. It has all of the sexy that you need. Went for the 4th of July event and it did not disappoint! The passed Hors d'oeuvres allowed me to get a sampling of what I can only hope are regular menu items and the Chef's style. I am a selective eater and I instantly rolled my eyes when I saw deviled eggs being passed. Deviled eggs are like potato salad... all are not created equal and I'm convinced it's where my trust issues began as a child (j/k). When I say it was like heaven... I.mean.that! There was a lump of crab meat nestled on top that took it to the next level. The entire heavenly bite was delicately seasoned to perfection. There was a summer corn salad that I gave some serious side eye. Because again... mystery salad trust issues. OMG... it was love at first bite! The sweetness of the corn was not overpowered at all. It was sheer summertime perfection on a plate. The chicken wings were good and cooked perfectly but I would have liked them to be a bit more flavorful. The black buns for sausages were interesting but I had to draw the line somewhere. The signature cocktails were on point. There was something for everyone... sweet, dry, and something in between. The bartenders were AMAZING!!! Actually ALL of the staff was OUTSTANDING! This did not go unnoticed in the current pandemic/post-pandemic dining atmosphere. As busy as the event was everyone was attentive and pleasant. I am excited to return. read more

In planning my weekend getaway in Baltimore I decided to patronize Black owned establishments and this restaurant made the list. The food was excellent, service was on point, and the decor made the perfect ambiance and great for pics. I attended Sat brunch and the DJ was on point, with the music at the right level to allow for conversation. I definitely would visit again. read more

I see why people like blk swan, but it is not for me. Not because of the service, which was excellent. Not even because of my drink, which was delicious. But because it feels like a trendy spot that's doing a lot: Tables too close, music too loud, food too costly. Plus it might suffer from an identity crisis--is it a lounge? A restaurant? A nightclub? read more

Always a pleasure! Service is consistent. The chicken box and the cheesesteak spring rolls were dope.

Okay so boom! I went on a dinner date w/ my gf. We arrived and had to wait an extra 30 mins despite me getting a text saying my table was ready .That was strike one already , bc the stress I went through to get a reservation for this place was like waiting for your app at SoHo House to finally be approved. Walked in , ambience was a vibe and I didn't feel like I wasted an outfit! We got seated and I was instantly turned off by the seating arrangements bc it kinda gave me school cafeteria vibes . I mean I get wanting intimacy but literally if the person at the next table were to get up , their ass is bound is hit your table , and what happens next? Your drink spills over and just like that, dinner is over! Music was a vibe but volume could have been a bit lower bc I felt like I had to have a screaming match with every other sentence . Our waiter was very prompt and attentive, and I didn't feel rushed . We were told to place all of our orders at once ( apps and entrees) so everything can come out all together . I only ordered apps and drinks , bc honestly, that's the only part of the menu that appealed to me . The food came out at a reasonable time ( less than 30 mins ). Food was lukewarm and presentation was eh. My friend unfortunately started to feel nauseous after eating the chicken box so idk what's up with that . I honestly rate my experience a 4/10. To sum up, I was underwhelmed! It was a one time experience and I wouldn't come back. read more

I took my children here for a family night out and we had a ball! The food was so amazing that we ordered mostly everything on the menu. The service was top notch and the atmosphere was uplifting with ole school music trends. Check them out, you won't be disappointed. read more

My mom and I went to the Black Swan on 8/18 to celebrate her birthday. Unfortunately, I had high expectations for this restaurant based on the feedback from others. The music was too loud to have a conversation. Our server seemed new, as she wasn't well acquainted with the menu and wasn't as attentive as those I have experienced at The Charleston and Ruth Chris. The food, with the exception of the brussel sprouts and pizza, didn't taste as good as I had hoped. I am not sure that I would patronize there again. And, if I do, it wouldn't be for a special occasion. read more

First off, the prices are way too expensive for the mediocre food that is being served. The DJ sucks balls. I will never go there again! I could've went to KFC! If I could've gave 0 stars, I would've. read more

Save your time and money! Skip it!! Bartender barely spoke to my friend and I who came to the bar on a Wednesday night! Very unfriendly...did not greet us, did not introduce herself, acted like she was doing me a favor for charging me for a 20 dollar drink, never came back after making the first drink, sat the bill down without saying anything such as thanking us for coming in etc. Please learn the basics of customer service if you are going to be a bartender!! Very disappointed as I was looking forward to coming here, but I will not be back! This place will not last with it's atmosphere that left a lot to be desired (less fancy than I was expecting based on other photos), overpriced drinks, and very poor customer service!!! read more

Amazing food and drinks. Our waitress was great and the vibes were just right. Would definitely return. read more

Food and drink were pricy but awesome. Service pretty good. Only problem is the customers who come here. Place is full of arrogant people. Most of them are ten cent millionaires. My advice is either get something to go or find a table far away from the boujie jerks who frequent this place. read more

Really cool atmosphere with amazingly delicious food. Only downside is the close seating

The ambiance is great. The food was good. The shrimp was to die for. The food is a bit pricey. The DJ played a good mix of songs. The staff was very friendly. Parking seems scarce but there is public parking close by. Not a lot of social distancing so if you're paranoid this isn't the place to go. The waitress had her mask below her nose. Overall, great experience. This restaurant is definitely worth trying. A great place to go with friends. read more

Great tasting food, nice vibe although pricey. The reason I gave two stars has nothing to do with food, price nor the service from my waitress. Upon entering the restaurant the host said i couldn't go in because my shoes were strapless, she finally asked me to lift up my pants leg which gave her a better view of my shoes, she saw they were not strapless then she said you're fine. If I wasn't meeting a friend there I would have never went inside the restaurant. I also saw several other women in the restaurant with strapless shoes. With all this said, I won't be going back! Sorry not sorry! read more

my date still hasn't stopped talking about the cauliflower app!! we particularly dug the 90s hip hop r&b music the evening we dined at Blk Swan. fantastic service. and enough for vegetarians and vegans to enjoy. definitely check out this sweet spot! read more

The food was very good. Nice decor. Music was a little loud for trying to enjoy conversation with my wife. The service was good also.

Glad I made it to the latest and well talked about restaurant in Baltimore. Overall the food was just okay but the drinks were good and the staff was hospitable. Seating was tight and the room was warm. read more

The food was so bad! I had the flash fried lobster and eggs during brunch on Sunday. It was really, really bad! Also, the music was so loud, it was like being in a club. I will not be going there again or recommending this place to anyone. read more

We arrive on time for our reservations and was seated promptly. Our server was amazing and the atmosphere was great. The place is beautiful. I was excited for a fine dining experience. I order the shrimp appetizer with a mix drink, which was really good. My main course was not has great due to my chicken not being cooked completely. The server apologized and offered to place the meal. I will return to try brunch. read more

My husband and I were visiting Baltimore for our anniversary and celebration of our pregnancy. We walked into Blk Swan and we're first greeted by the doorman then the hostess who both welcomed us graciously. The hostess advised us that seating was booked, but the bar was open and ushered us to the bar. As we got ready to sit down the doorman came back to us and aggressively told us we had to leave because of our sandals. Sandals we were wearing because my feet were swollen from pregnancy and the 90 degree heat. It was very odd too us that we were told to leave after being welcomed twice and the hostess and waitresses were dressed in scantily clad short short dresses and crop tops. Kicking a hungry and visibly pregnant woman out after greeting us twice and telling us where to sit was an awful customer experience to have! read more

The noise level from the loud music makes it impossible to have a conversation at your table. The food (shrimp, lamb were salty) and pricey. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

Overall , blk swan food , drinks, ambiance and customer service was amazing. I had the lamb chops and Mac&cheese. My only complaint would be the volume of the music. The music was extremely loud which made it hard to have conversation during dinner. read more

Well let's start by saying i went there for date night and to finish celebrating my birthday Me and my husband wore dressy atttire , which was told to us that you had to be dressy however most people had tennis shoes on , so then i felt overdressed and i asked the waiter did they change their dress code and she said they kind of relax during spring/summer months . The food was good just a little pricy . The decore was ok , The music was nice to listen to However one huge problem i had was they watched us like a hawk while eating to see how long it would take to finish our food the staff would walk by every couple of minutes to see if we were done eating, I got up to use the restroom and when I got back my remaining food was gone !! For the price it cost to eat there I feel like you should not be rushed out of the place. We were only there for about a hour no more than a hour and a half, which includes taking your time to see what you want on the menu and waiting for the food to come out as well . After my husband tipped the waiter. She kindly said to us we have people waiting outside, so basically she was telling us to go, but the part that made us angry No one was waiting outside or at the door so I do not recommend this place if you want to eat and then relax for a while afterwards and listen to the music some because they will be timing you. also I felt our waiter was not to friendly. I have been treated better at other places and probably will not go there again. read more

There are no words to express the elegance and sophistication this place is and the food is beyond divine.

Good vibe! Flavorful food! Attentive service! Strong drinks! Live DJ with great music!

We were really looking forward to trying this place. We had tickets to the comedy place around the corner and decided to try BLK Swan during restaurant week. Four courses, $55 and the options looked amazing! We reserved a table for two at 5:15 pm. We got there on-time/a little early and were quickly taken to our seats. It took a long time (10+ mins) for the waiter to come, but when he got there he quickly took our drink orders and our food order too. Great! We will definitely make the show. Then we waited. No water. No drink. We waited a good 20 mins. When the drink finally came, we were really thirsty. It's now been about 35 minutes since our arrival. The woman who brought the drink was super friendly and when we told her we were thirsty, she quickly returned with the water. Next up, they're out of the crab soup. Ok. It's early in the evening, but ok. No course one. The salad and the croquette came, very good flavors, generous portions, but we were out of water. Those plates left and we asked for a glass of wine. Then we waited. And waited. No water. No entrees. It wasn't crazy busy, but we waited some more. It's 6pm. It's 6:10. The entrees arrive. They're decent. Mashed potatoes are homemade and not gluey, salmon cooked to perfection. Chicken entree was good too. And a good thing because the waiter never once checked in to see if everything was ok. We finished quickly and then we got back to waiting. 6:30. 6:40. 6:50. Waiter is nowhere to be found. He doesn't bring us desserts, and when he returns to take the order of the neighboring table, we ask for the check since we now have to get to the show. When we get the bill, he's charged us for the wine we never got! So of the four courses for the restaurant week special, we got two courses, paid the $55, which is fine. But if we'd order a la carte, it would've only cost us $49! So skip this place unless you've already eaten ahead of time and don't have anywhere else to be. We spent almost two hours staring at an empty table and hoping hoping hoping that our waiter would please please please get us some food and water. Very disappointed! read more

My family and I attempted to patron at BLK Swan today! We were extremely taken back when a member of our party was turned away due to dress code. She had on sandals, but Watson at the front door advised that she could not get in because her sandals did not have straps on them. Asia (who claimed to be the manager), also was not accommodating to the scenario when we explained that the website does not specify that sandals have to be worn with a heel or strap! I have taken a screenshot from the website directly that I am including here, along with the sign that they now post on the door of the restaurant. Clear difference in the two. We traveled from over an hour away to attend this establishment. Additionally, when we requested to speak to another manager, they advised that they do not get their higher up management involved in matters of dress code. That is extremely ridiculous. I will NEVER patronize here again! read more

If you don't want your reservation, give it to me. Good, service, and ambiance is A1.

Wow- talk about lived up to the hype!!! I was able to get reservations on the day it opened so me and a friend went Friday night. I walked in and instantly felt great vibes. The girls at the front were SUPER friendly and sat us down after about 5 minutes. I ordered the calamari with a blk swan drink while we waited for dinner. The Bass was sooooo good and my friend got the chicken and Brussels were to die for. Can't tell me I won't be back! Even if it's just for a drink at the bar because the drink menu was everything. I want to try it all. Five stars for me! read more

This place is not run professional. Ghetto as hell. I should not have to wait 30 minutes to be seated when I have a reservation and pre-paid. The restaurant has a no refund policy for pre-paid experiences. The music is blasting like it is a club, The ambiance is terrible. I am for supporting black business but if they do not provide quality services I am not going to support them. On my birthday Valentine's Day I am waiting to be seated. I arrive at 8:00 my reservation is for 8:15. I will post what time I got seated. Or the reason I have to wait is because the kitchen got backed up. That sounds like the company issue not mine. I do not expect this service when I paid $330. read more

I was really looking forward to this restaurant. Food was meh and music was way too loud.

Our 1st visit and it was just ok. The food was OK but very small portions for the high price as if it's in Miami... It's Bmore! There were pretty much no vegetarian/vegan options & again, the portions were so small, to point a grown man had to send the chicken back because he felt as a man 'what could he do with that'. Then we as 6 grown persons; 3 men (one who is larger) & 3 women were crammed into a booth where we asked if we could be reseated for the sake of eating comfortably, but it was not a concern because they were more concerned with making sure they maxed out on money making tables. That is a customer service issue. Additionally, we thought we could enjoy the dj, but soon discovered we had to leave after our table spent close to $500 total. It seems there was more of a press to turn over tables; eat and leave vs creating an enjoyable/dining experience. We didn't understand having a DJ when you'd be pushed to eat and leave (we had reservations at 8pm) without being able to enjoy, nor is there no dancing or lounging space to enjoy. The website is misleading... We are assuming Black Swan is still working out their 'kinks' and expansion plans to cater to what they're hoping for in terms of 'vibe' and joyful experience. The decor is absolutely gorgeous and ambiance is in place. Unfortunately, being rushed and crammed really ruined it for us... Again, we are trying to understand growing and perhaps will give it another try later when they've added space and service oriented passion so guests can enjoy FULLY! A couple in our party even drove an hour away to join us and was taken back by the 'thanks for your money but time to go' vibe we received! Not trying to bash, but giving honest truthful review. Newness brings trial and error. We believe it will be better soon read more

Was not a huge fan of this place. The ambiance is nice but that's really it. I truly believe the food was overpriced for the quality that we received. When we first arrived (with reservations) we requested a booth and the staff were not able to accommodate even though there was seating available and stayed available long after we sat down. The seating is not spaced out enough; too close to strangers next to you. The DJ was too loud, I could not hear my own party at my table. Either you're a fine dining restaurant or your a club; we ordered the tomahawk steak, which was not cooked as we requested. It was just okay..we asked for medium and it came out pretty much well done. I was not a fan of the huge announcement the staff makes when you order the tomahawk steak. I would have preferred that they left out the statement "they ordered the most expensive item in the menu." Not really anyones business imo. But that's just personal preference. All in all, I wouldn't have to go back and if I did, I'd probably try to find a seat at the bar and just have a cocktail. Also I do have to mention that I went around 9 pm and in the corner there was a small child (maybe about 3 or 4) eating with her mother. Didn't get the vibe it was a family restaurant, so it was a little uncomfortable to see that. read more

Nice atmosphere abd will go more often and suggest people to explore a perfect place.

My first experience was for my birthday in July, 2021. There's definitely room for improvement such as setting up before it's time to open the doors; they were definitely on "colored people time". The menu is small , food was average and the prices commensurate with the location. It was a good experience however, it's not worth the money nor do I plan to go back. I applaud them is why I give 3 stars. Hopefully, they will re-evaluate, make necessary changes and try a variety of chefs to cook different nights to see who can bring in the people. Too much competition out here to go back for mediocre/average. read more

My daughter made a reservation for Blk Swan a month in advance of my bithday (Dec 6th). Fast forward to my birthday...Blk Swan immediately grabs you from the moment that you are greeted at the door by the very friendly staff who open this HUMONGOUS black glass door! The wall in the outer lobby is beautiful. The vibe and the music draw you in, to the point that after being there for a while I forgot I was in MD all together and thought I was back in NY!!! The bar...OMG let's just say the drinks are fantastic! Try the Smoke & Mirrors! They smoke the glasses and then add the drink! Superb. Our server was Liz and let me tell you, she was phenomenal! Her energy, her menu suggestions, her attentiveness. She was friendly and truly made my evening sooooo amazing! The food hands down some of the best food I have had living in this state!!!!! I have only had good braised short ribs from ONE Chef and that was Chef Mohammad at Embassy Suites and The Grand, those of you who have had his ribs know what I mean!!! But THESE, let's just say, Chef Mo is my heart but he is a second to these ribs! Try the salmon croquettes, the calamari - Jesus, and don't get me started on the mac and cheese - glory! My birthday was already awesome spending it with family and friends and Liz and Blk Swan put the icing on top. Thank you so very much! I promise you I will be back for more. I'm amazed by some of the reviews, our experience was none of them. Servers wore masks, service was impeccable, drinks were plentiful, food was tasty and delicious. Ambiance was awesome, yes it was a Monday, but the joint was jumping! This restaurant is NOT the typical that most are used to which might be why I believe some of the reviews are they way they are. Thank you Blk Swan I Came, I Swan, I Conquered!!! read more
