I stopped by Blk Dot Coffee for the first time this past Memorial Day, 5/27/2024 at around 1:30 PM. There was a steady stream of people coming in and out of the store. We ordered the following (Prices as of May 2024): 2 Lg Iced VTM ($6.95 each) - Holy... this drink is STRONG! IF you want to wake up (and possibly have your heart racing like made), get this drink! - We had to wait for the ice in this drink to melt a little before we could handle it so just beware. However, this drink was goOoOod lol - tasted like a legit Vietnamese coffee. I approve! 1 Lg VTM Tiger w/ whole milk ($7.55) - This one was good but too sweet lol. It comes with brown sugar jelly (which expanded the longer you drank it), brown sugar syrup, and that vtm coffee base. This was more of a diluted version of the VTM coffee and tasted better initially since the syrup hadn't settled in. After the brown sugar syrup + coffee mixed a little more, this was way too sweet (coming from a sweet drink lover lol). I'd prob recommend for you to order it less sweet lol. 1 Reg Iced VTM ($5.95) Customer Service: The person ringing us up was pretty monotone and disinterested. He wasn't cheery at all and we didn't have much of an interaction. However, there was a miscommunication on one of the drinks that we ordered and so when my husband brought it up, they happily remade the drink so that was nice. We all appreciated that! Seating: A few tables with seating is available inside and out. We got lucky and some people left, so we were able to combine some more chairs and we were able to sit together. The seating area is a little tight. Parking: Plenty of parking spots available since the shop is located in a plaza with Trader Joes, etc. No issues finding a spot! All in all, I'd consider coming back if I was back in the area! read more

Love coming here in the morning before work! I tried their Yuzu Mango Matcha and it was pretty good! I don't like the lemon pieces in there because I bit one and it was super bitter but the drink is refreshing ! I usually get the Dulce VTM Late! My fave!! It's always busy in the morning so I suggest you order ahead. Service is fast! The location is pretty chill, they have an inside and outside patio! Easy access as it's located in a strip mall across from the Costco warehouse, blk dot came highly recommended by a SoCal-native friend who is certified in good coffee. Their special appears to be Vietnamese coffee (a very strong brew for those who aren't aware) but they manage to balance the strength of the coffee with good flavors. The coffee is good and we always come here because its close to us and convenient to shop at trader joes. The reason for the two stars is because of the terrible customer service! Clearly management doesn't care because everyone seems to have the same experience with the rude staff they always hire. It feels like every other month there is new staff who is still rude. You walk in, no one greets you, you order and ask questions and they genuinely don't try to help, you come to the pick up section and they just stare at you without asking if you need help. I am fed up with the rude staff which is why I'm finally writing a review. The next step is trying to get a hold of corporate and sharing my experiences. They just don't seem to care about their customers. To the rude little girls that were working today and making comments as if we didn't hear you, karma is a b**** and we will be getting a hold of the district manager since the manager also doesn't seem to know how to train the employees or keep them in check. read more

This is located next to Trader Joe's and Costco so I saw it on my way back and I wanted to try it. There was a good amount of parking at the time, but I realize during the late times parking gets kind of tricky so parking is not super easy here. Still, I would definitely try this location. I ended up trying a regular latte with half-and-half and with Stevia and it was very delicious. The quality of the coffee was great and I thought it wasn't diluted at all, and it had a strong taste of the roast of the beans. The price of the coffee was average. It was around six dollars for a regular cup of iced coffee and I would definitely come back to this location as there is a lot of dietary options and it is quite affordable in my range. The staff there was very nice if I had any questions and the ambience inside was nice as well. There was plenty of seating and a good space if you want to study. There were seats outside as well so I really like the seating options they have here. If you're nearby this area I would definitely try out their coffee, it has a very great taste of the coffee beans! :) read more

I love good strong Vietnamese coffee and Blk Dot delivers! We both ordered the Hot VTM - their basic Vietnamese coffee. But it's anything but basic, it's rich, sweet & strong just like I like it! Being greeted by the friendly staff as soon as we walked in was nice. They were friendly and produced our drinks quickly even though the shop was fairly busy. This is one of their newer locations located in Cypress. Next to a Trader Joe's and a bunch of other little restaurants that make it quite convenient to stop in. The girl greeted me happily and was very nice. Customer service was excellent and I ended up ordering a vtm coffee light. This just means it's a little less and a little less strong. It was just ok. one of my favorite coffee shops when i'm in the oc! it's not often that i come but whenever i do i always make sure to stop by. i've always been a fan of their regular matcha latte, you can never go wrong with it. today i decided to try their yuzu mango latte and i'm so glad that i did! i would be lying if i said i wasn't skeptical of it because i can't imagine anything but strawberry to go well with matcha but that's why it doesn't hurt to try new things. the mango and yuzu doesn't really overpower the matcha, it's the perfect balance. they add that tangy and sweet flavor that you would expect. staff are always kind and quick to make orders, i can never complain about this place. read more

I couldn't tell you much about the food or the coffee because my ordered was packaged in a manner where the coffee spilled everywhere in the bag. The bag the disintegrated while I drove home and all the coffee residue ended up on my seat and on the wet bottom of the bowls. I did call to let them know the food was not packaged properly so which the Shift Supervisor proceeded to advise me that there was nothing they could do because they did not have a stopper. I ordered the sea salt cold foam cold brew, Spanish latte, and the LVTM with oat milk. All were great and I highly recommend! My fave was the cold brew for sure. The location is next to Trader Joe's in a new/modern shopping complex. The staff were friendly and provided recommendations. I also went during non-busy times so I'm not sure how this place is like during peak times, so I can't comment on others' experience to say if it's in fact a gong show. Came here for a quick pick me up before I head back on the road. Got the Uji Matcha Einspänner. Quite an interesting name and don't know how to say it but matcha tasted just like any other matcha to me. Service was quick. Like how simple this cafe looks. I was extremely excited about this coffee. I have visited this location once before, after my niece's graduation. It was delicious So...., I decided to revisit the location. The service seemed to be decent. The atmosphere was calm, and there were not too many people. Here comes the dilemma...I purchased three coffees and a pale pink coffee cup, totaling $51.80. Two days later, I see an additional charge for $59.57. After speaking to my bank, it was confirmed that the merchant spun the block for a double charge to give themselves $59. 57 tip! tl;dr Great Vietnamese iced coffee to-go! I'm a regular here. Go-to drink: Iced VTM Drinks (5/5): The drinks here are spectacular, and there are milk alternative options. I enjoy the iced VTM the most and always recommend this to friends who are or aren't coffee enthusiasts. It's lightly sweet and quite strong. I also enjoy the passion fruit iced tea drink with aloe and the lychee green tea. You can also get an Iced VTM concentrate that's good for approx. 3 drinks at home, just add ice and your choice of milk to your liking. Service (5/5): Very nice staff and timely service. If the line is long, we wait up to 10 minutes or so. One time, my friend forgot to ask for an alternative milk choice and when she voiced this to the staff after she received her order, they promptly remade her drink without charge. Ambiance (3/5): The spot has a modern aesthetic to it and physically is a nice spot to have a sit-down with a friend (indoor and outdoor seating available). However, the music is way too loud and pretty atrocious at times (sorry!), and it leaks through despite my noise cancelling Airpod Pros. It's nice and cool inside during the summer months. They have free wi-fi, a few outlets, and a private bathroom as well, if you're trying to get some work done. I saw this spot as I frequent the Trader Joe's in this plaza called The Square and they have new business opening up recently. I opted for the VTM Tiger which is a Vietnamese coffee with brown sugar syrup and brown sugar jelly. Unfortunately they were out of jelly when I got the drink so they switched it out for crystal boba for free which still worked out ok. The drink is very flavorful and strong while the toppings just have you keep sipping more and more! A little on the pricey side for coffee but this definitely packs a punch. I stopped by a new coffee shop, cypress location after I finished shopping at the Trader Joe's. How nice, how close is this coffee shop from the Costco, Trader Joe's!! Everything is black and white, inside outside, some wooden bench in the back corner. First, I loved the high ceiling, bright vibe. I only ordered small espresso today because I was full during my taco brunch. Second, the service was great, super friendly, fast, and attentive. I didn't sit inside but I felt so cozy, in the modern contemporary ambiance. I like some signature goods like coffee mug, travel mug, t-shirts, coffee grain, and hats. I will recommend some friends to try here, instead of Starbuck's. I saw one location. I. Long Beach. Hopefully they grow and expand more locations in OC. So I've been here once before well over a year ago and didn't remember much about it. I was in the area and decided to try it again and am certainly glad I did. They have a nice selection of food options that are more in line with an upscale cafe rather than the quick bite options from mass coffee chains. I also was pleasantly surprised by the variety of drink options here as well. Mojito cold brew sounded good as well as a handful of other concoctions. I ultimately went with an iced spicy honey oat latte which was absolutely delicious and hit the spot! A little pricey although I can't complain much because food and drink quality was above my expectations. Staff was friendly and service was fairly quick. I don't usually leave 5 for places and feel like a lot of other Yelpers throw that rating around rather promiscuously. This place truly deserves said rating though as inner aesthetics and outside seating ad to the charm. I will definitely be coming back here. read more

The service was quick, so friendly, my hubby said, the taste is better than Starbuck's. Sooooo clean, bright, all in black and white, which is my fave colors. IT'S SO DISTRACTING HERE My husband and I have been going here to get our work done. Let me tell you something. I CANNOT work here. You know why? They play straight up BANGERS over the speakers. I can't help but want to sing along to each song they play. And I am having a hard time not wanting to dance along to some of these songs. One time they played 1000 miles by Vanessa Carlton. How dare they do that. Don't they know what that song does to us? Several customers sang along. It was a madhouse. Thankfully their coffee makes up for their distracting ambiance. I have tried the Spanish latte and VTM Einspanner and they are great! Both have kept me locked in to focus on my work when my legs just wanna get jiggy! Blk dot is definitely the hype in this popular plaza. It's a cute, modern coffee shop. Some recommendations are the light Vietnamese coffee, Thai tea latte, and any of the matcha lattes. If you just like a little bit of sweet like I do, I get the matcha unsweetened but with a flavor such as berry. Service is fairly quick even when they're busy. All the drinks are honestly really good, I usually get an iced VTM with sea salt foam on top and a hot honey avocado toast.
