Got the Midnight Mango and the Nature's Spirit here. They're a bit on the pricier end for boba, especially if you want to substitute non-dairy milk in addition to toppings. But the drinks are fresh and the boba is the best I've had in a while. They have a great chew, flavor isn't too sweet or too bland, not mushy or too hard. Interesting shape for boba too. The Nature's Spirit still had avocado chunks in it, so it's very nostalgic/traditional in terms of Viet dessert if you've ever crushed up ice, avocado, and drizzled condensed milk on top. The Midnight Mango (black sesame, mango top, sub coconut milk) doesn't have either a super dominant black sesame or mango flavor, so they blend well together. Personally I think it's better once mixed together and not left separated. It seemed to be a family owned and run place, with very thematic decor. They were helpful and offered several times to answer any questions but were patient as we made our choices. The highlight is actually their house made tapioca pearls. They come in two flavors (green oolong tea & brown sugar) and I think they're star-shaped? either way, the texture and flavor is on par with high quality tapioca pearls. I'm so happy I don't have to drive to Rowland heights to get good drinks anymore as this a great alternative. Please offer larger sized drinks! Ambiance: 9/10. Crazy hidden gem. This store is worth giving a try for sure. Usually imo small mom and pop shops aren't that great, and most people go to just to support the community but this place is actually legitimately very good. They have the tea espresso machines that I've seen at chicha San Chen and other equivalent boba stores. The tea flavor is pretty good because of this. Haven't tried their smoothies/odd cloud liminal space looking drinks yet but I'm going to in the future. The item that makes them stand out is the boba itself. It's not a pearl like other places. It's kinda like this odd craggy shape but it has this unique soft and chewy. A little firm, but I like it like that. I think the correct phrase for it is qq --meaning that it has a nice bouncy bite.
